Miss Americana's sensors picked up a soft displacement of air behind her. "Thanks for agreeing to this." She did not experience the minor vertigo those near his teleport departures/arrivals felt, so she reasoned his sudden appearance was not via teleportation; she further (and correctly) surmised his sudden arrival, with no notice by the Lab's security or sensors, had to have been via some cloaking technology. "I do apologize for all this," he said, his fingers fidgeting, "but this is a highly personal matter, and one I do not want leaking out, for both the reputation of ArcheTech and myself. Ah, I presume you were able to study over the trio of projects I sent earlier today?"

Sorry for the delay, I'd somehow forgotten to bookmark these threads! And let's go with Dok knowing nothing of that little adventure. Someone can teach him for a change!

Archeville nodded politely as Carrie spoke but the talk of transdimensional heroics drew his focus. "'Crossed the dimensional barrier'? Oh, do tell!" Archeville turned to Mona, his eyes alight with the joy of some new discovery, "had you heard of this, liebchen?"

It's adding extras/flaws/pfs to the Teleport he already has on his Gravimetric Belt Teleport 7 (700ft per Move Action, 200 miles per Full Action; PFs: Change Direction, Change Velocity) Not adding any ranks to the power, just extras & so on. So you can write it as Power 0 (Extra: whatever extras you're adding to the base power) As for the adventure, I've outsourced someone to handle that ;)

Archeville chuckled, "see, that is how I knew you were a keeper: you dig my robot apes." "Well, if that is all, then," he reached into his labcoat pocket and withdrew his Electromagnetic Screwdriver, a gadget that may as well be a magic wand for all he could do with it, "now comes the really tricky part. By which I mean, 'the really cool part where I get to show off in front of my lover'," he added with a wink. A minor symphony of beeps and whistles issued from the gadget as his fingers ran over the controls. As he worked he slowly floated up to the center of the apartment. "You know the transporters at ArcheTech? They are based on the tech I developed for my Gravimetric Belt." He pressed a few buttons along the side of his belt, and a panel popped open, "I typically use my Belt just to transport myself, but I can use this to do area and bulk transports, especially once I amp it up with this." He pulled a cable from the Screwdriver and plugged it into the Belt, and their beepings and flashings began to sync up. "Now, my place -- soon to be our place," he said with large smile, "is about four miles from here, and this place is so many cubic feet... and you have so many thousand pounds of stuff to move... and moving it all to a very large room I set aside just for this purpose..." "Double check the safeguards to make sure I do not nab anything from the neighbors... or parts of anything from the neighbors... or parts of the neighbors...." An invisible, inaudible pulse of energy went out, a radar-like wave pinging the outline of the apartment to make sure only the things and people inside it were transmitted via the wormhole the Belt would be generating. Unfortunately, this same wave disabled certain components in the power dampers Mona wore, the effects of which would be felt very, very soon. ".... annnd here we go!" At the press of a button, a pinpoint of blue-grey light formed from the Belt, expanding out to fill the apartment. As it neared Mona, wisps of crimson energy lashed out from her, somehow both mixing with and remaining distinct from the blue of the teleport field. Archeville's eyes went wide, "Mooonaaa!" That was all she heard; the light was too intense for either of them to see.

The strange robot was still and silent for a long moment, appearing more like a statue than a functioning piece of machinery. Only the soft whir of assorted internal mechanisms betrayed its still-functioning status. When at last it spoke, it said something neither Supercape nor Fenris may have expected. "Apologies, Baron Katastrof, but I believe your assessment is incorrect. Solar power should have the capacity required to elevate human civilization to the next level of technological advancement, without the dangers associated/predicted with vacuum energy." It turned to one of the small keyboards recessed into the conference room table and began inputting commands. The ceiling-mounted projector descended, and projected the image of the web searches it was running at superhuman speeds. "The latest report from the World Energy Council indicate that the human civilizations of Earth currently generate/consume approximately 16 Terrawatts of energy. However," it then began pulling up astronomical data, though as with the WEC data it was all publicly available information, "Earth receives 174 Petawatts of energy from the Sun, or 1,366 Watts per square meter of the Earth's surface which is directly exposed to the Sun. If 1% of this can be harnessed, that would more than fill humanity's current energy needs." "One project I have been working on," it stood and faced the two men, "is converting the far side of the Earth's Moon into a solar collector. However, problems persist in transmitting the collected power to Earth. I am currently studying the beamed power transmission theories of Nikola Tesla for ideas."

"Spirit Dog," Mutt said insistently. "Aw, don't worry, Mutt," Dead Head knelt and scratch the great mastiff behind the ears, "she didn't mean nuthin' by it. Y'see," he looked up to Grim, "Mutt here's one's Legba's hound, Legba bein' the Loa'a th' crossroads, 'specially the ones 'tween the mortals an' the Loa. Without his say-so, ain't no hoodoo man's hoodoo gonna do 'boo'!," he cackled and slapped one knee. "'E's go a whole mess'a dogs 'tendin' 'im, runnin' errands to an' fro, guardin' this place an' that. Spirit Hound, native t' Guinee, like the Loa theyselves; they ain't ghosts 'cuz they ain't never died 'cuz they ain't never been alive, not like mos' folks anyways. Anyways, after what happened back in October with Samedi an' Hades," he turned and made a spitting motion, though (mercifully) nothing actually came out, "I lost a bunch'a my juju, so they sent ol' Mutt here t'look after me." Mutt gave a short, happy bark, like any normal dog would. "Now, as fer flyin'," he continued, standing, "well, I can, or, least, I did, once... but it was reeeaaal messy. Ever hear tell of a penanggalan? Type'a vampire native t'Malaysia. They can detach they heads," which he then neatly did, his voice taking on an eerie sepulchral reverb, [bg=#000000]"like I can do, but when they do it, they can fly. 'Course, when they do it, their guts an' entrails is still attached, dangling down like a fishin' net; they flap their lungs like lil' wings."[/bg] He plopped his head back on, his voice resuming its normal tone, "damnedest thing t'see, if'n yain't ready fer it. Anyays, I tried it once, when chasin' some drug smugglers, an' I got it to work! Was real tricky, though -- got tangled up in their plane's propeller!" He laughed again at the memory of it. "'Stead'a doin' that, though," he finally said, patting Mutt's on the head, "I'll jes' hang on t'Mutt here. He's a Spirit Dog, gravity ain't got no hold on 'im -- he can fly faster'n any Greyhound can run!" Mutt barked again, and smiled.

Protectron cocked its head as TheVisibleGossamer!Atlas. Gossamer's request for hi-def recording was met with a flat "affirmative." "Samael Nitorvich," the strange robot's flat voice announced, as it stared at him with unwavering robot eyes, "why have the Grue invaded and attempted to conquer Earth so many times?"

Archeville nodded, "quite a bit more advanced, yes, moreso even than anything I have found in the Darts, Inc. projects. How well do you know the tech? I mean, aside form making your own bullets for it?" He nodded at both of Colt's requests, "oh, easily done! In fact, the extinguisher could be incorporated into another items I was thinking of adding: a capturefoam projector. Similar mechanism, two chemicals in tanks, when mixed together in air they quickly set into a tough foam. Police forces have been experimenting with them for years, and such restraints are used at both ArcheTech and at The Lab. As for armor... " His eyes rolled back and forth as he turned back to his gun bag, "I think a force field might work best, rather than improving the composition of the armor plating. It would certainly be a faster and easier install." "As for the Brownstone, I do have a few tweaks in mind for the medbay," he said, looking through the bag for some new firearm to try, but fining he had tried just about everything. "Is there anything else?"

"Now, now, Americana," the comm cheerfully scolded, "you know I do not like to hear that my people are skipping meals." Whether Archeville's tendency to cluck over his employees like a mother hen -- all his employees, which alone was a testament to his phenomenal recall -- was a mixed blessing with working for ArcheTech. In an odd way, it reminded Gina of how Protectron fussed over everyone (especially Dragonfly) in The Lab. "At least have an energy bar or two, hrm?" A ping from her console announced the arrival of new e-mail. "I shall leave you to it," he signed off. The e-mails did in fact contain R&D files, a trio of them. The first was for an inhaled MRI contrast agent, which could safely diffuse trough the body faster than injected ones. The tricky part was that MRI contrast agents are usually chelates of Gadolinium, so the project worked on two fronts: finding a nontoxic alternative to that, or developing a nontoxic and non-reactive coating to be applied to the particulates so as to avoid damage to the patient. Second, a 'portable' (in that it could be lugged about by two strong people, or one super-strong metahuman) MRI, taking advantage of the latest developments in miniaturization of the powerful magnets, superconductors, and other assorted components, was detailed; its drawback was that it still required as much juice as a standard MRI. Third, a piece of software, for carrying out meta-analyses on differences in brain activity or structure as found by neuroimaging techniques such as dMRI, fMRI, or PET.

"Had a few ideas for some projects to run by you, if you were free," the comm replied. However, as his voice came over the comm, Miss Americana's internal communications systems received a text message. "They are not exactly in your preferred field -- mostly new types of scanners -- but I think you will find them interesting, and of use in your prosthetics work. I can send the R&D work to you now, or we could discuss them over lunch?" Archeville tended to do a lot of work over meals (or drinks); one perk of working at ArcheTech was the great catered fare.

Wherein Doktor Archeville calls in Dragonfly and Miss Americana for some second opinions on some brain scans -- his own!
-
Date: March 25th, 2011 (Friday), mid-morning The experience of being thrall to the Conquering Mind was quite disturbing to some, though mercifully most did not recall specifics of what had happened. But for one man, for whom issues such as altered brains and mind control were of both intense professional and close personal interest, it had been gnawing at him for some days. "Miss Americana," her ArcheTech lab's com announced, "are you there? Miss Americana?"
-
"Ah, Mr. Push," Archeville called back, "would you be so kind as to come to the front here and assist Major Factor?" "We need a cleared path for landing," he pointed out the forward window, and to the cloud of crystalline fragments before them, "but there is a bit of a hazard. Scanners indicate some are large and tough enough to puncture through the micrometeorite shielding, and this vessel is not equipped with any weapons to blast a way clear. Though, given those energy discharges, and these readings, simply blasting it would be inadvisable, as it might simply reflect the beams away, or right back at us." He turned and faced the young man, and clapped one hand to his shoulder. "But if you can just... shove them off to the sides," he said, making a sweeping motion with his other hand.
-
The Doktor took Colt's gun, handling it with all due reverence. "Ah, a fine piece of engineering. You know, I never have asked: is this a common firearm where you are from, or is this a special piece?" He stepped up to the firing range and let off a few shots; the first was quite a bit more potent than he had anticipated. "Ha! A fine weapon!" He offered the piece back, "so, were there any upgrades in particular you had in ind for the Brownstone? Or the MAVERIC? How has that been handling?"

Mona's apartment in Waterfront & Dok's home in Hanover are about 4 miles apart. Enough that Teleport 5 can reach it as an extended teleport. Dok can use his Electromagnetic Screwdriver (Gadgets 3, so 15pp to play with) to add Affects Others (Others + Self) and Area (Burst) to 5 ranks of his Belt's Teleport, to create a 25-ft. radius spherical portal. That alone may be big enough to cover the entire loft. He'll need the Selective power feat so he doesn't accidentally bring anyone in the apartments above or below them, though he can choose what inanimate objects do and do not come without requiring the Selective pf. Weight's an issue, though. Standard teleport only gets 100 lbs. of stuff, and there's nothing indicating the Area extra circumvents that restriction. (Same goes for the Portal extra, though I think we tend to run Portals as not having any weight limit.) Progression 5 would up the limit to 5,000 lbs., enough to get about half her stuff. (I calculated the mass of her stuff using this, basing it on the stuff I have in my place, then multiplying by 1.5 to account for her increased size.) He could add the Long Range flaw to free up that 1pp needed for a sixth rank in Progression (and to add any more Progression for size on the Area itself). Final build Gadgets 3 Teleport 0 (Extras: Affects Others [Others + Self] 5, Area [25-ft. radius Burst, General] 5; Flaw: Long-Range 5; PFs: Progression [Weight] 6 [10,000 lbs.], Selective Attack) [12/15 DP] 3pp left for moar Progression (Area) or Progression (Weight) if needed Of course, they may not actually wind up at Dok's....

Archeville's eyes widened at word of handwritten cookbooks. He took one and reverently went through it. "Oh my..." The tweaking of his nose brought him out of the culinary reverie. As she floated up to retrieve the decorative pots, he moved to the balcony doors and examined the Queen-plus size mattress propped against them. He suddenly turned and looked up to her, "oh, your artwork! Do you have any pieces here which will require special care in transit?"

"I have been told far worse, Mr. Xavier, " the Doktor replied to his apology with a dismissive wave, still in his calm and amicable tone, "though the sentiment is appreciated. However, ah, once she is done," he nodded towards Dr. Rao, "you may be even more sore," he added with a slightly off-putting chuckle. Time passed, assays were ran, tests were done, and Jubatus saw that each new result caused more questions to spring into the minds of his doctors. Which they all disclosed with him, as best as they were able. "Well, my first question is chromosomal differential. Humans have 46, cheetahs -- all cats, from tabbys to tigers -- only have 38. Mr. Xavier here appears to only have 38 chromosomes..." "Ja, but it is not that he lost eight chromosomes, their material was redistributed amongst all the others. See -- same number of chromosomes, his are just bigger than a normal cheetah's because he has more human DNA to pack into it. Very neatly so, too. I would wager they put in some practice on this." "It could explain why they went with cheetah: genetically, they're extremely stable. The level of heterozygosity within the entire cheetah population is of a similar order to that of brothers and sisters; the are almost clones of each other. Easy to get a read of the species-wide genome with just a few subjects, enough to not alert anyone of disappearances even with their near-endangered status." "And few negative genetic traits in the genome, since, well, they all had to be bred out in order for the species to survive with such small numbers, since there were no new ones to add genetic diversity." "Though this still does not explain why they went for a one-way, mostly non-humanoid morph." "A new type of infiltrator? One that doesn't set off standard Grue detection systems, since there are no active shapeshifting elements in him? Experiments in turning subjects into animals as part of a plan to replace the pets of important targets with trained agents?"

The Mayans were the first to drink hot chocolate, back in 400 AD, but they flavored it with chile peppers. Cacao (cocoa) beans and chile peppers were two of the main crops grown by the Mayans, so it's natural that some enterprising cooks would experiment with combining their flavors. Since these ancient times, chocolate & chiles have been a common duo in Mesoamerican cooking. The recipe below is a basic chocolate fudge pie, kicked up a notch. Ingredients Dry Stuff * 1 1/2 cups sugar * 3 tablespoons cocoa powder * 1 tablespoon flour * 1 tablespoon chili powder* * Pinch (~1/4 teaspoon) salt Wet Stuff * 2 eggs, lightly beaten * 1/3 cup milk * 1 tablespoon vanilla extract * 1 stick of butter or margarine, melted & cooled Misc. * 1 unbaked pie shell** Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix dry ingredients in a large-ish bowl. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla extract to dry ingredients, and mix well to combine. Add liquid butter/margarine, mix well to combine. Pour into unbaked pie shell, bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes. * Omitting the chili powder gives you a solid chocolate fudge pie. You could also try using 2 teaspoons chili powder + 1 teaspoon cinnamon (or 1 tsp chili powder & 2 tsp cinnamon) instead of 1 tablespoon chili powder. ** Don't use frozen Pet pie shells, the recipe doesn't work right with those even if the shell if given plenty of time to thaw to room temperature. I typically use the off-the-shelf plain or graham cracker crust shells.

Magnets! How Do They Work? Science, You Clown! [IC]
Dr Archeville replied to Dr Archeville's topic in West End
Archeville was silent through Eli's impromptu pep talk. A short moment after Eli said his piece, a smile came to the Doktor's face. "Thank you for that, Eli," he said as he reached across and playfully punched the young speedster on the shoulder. "As for Zephyr, yes, from what little I have been able to gather, she is from some possible future, and her powers are some form of temporal manipulation. Which could explain why she is faster than you: she is even less bound by the 'Laws of Physics' than you are." He laughed at that, but there was just a hint of nervousness in it. "So," his tone lost all hint of nervousness, and was all smooth and easygoing once more, "tell me, how do you like the team? The Brownstone? Anything of which I should be aware?" -
A few ways come to mind -- such as an Area [burst] Paralysis (Limited: Slow Only) [2pp/rank], perhaps with the Duration bought up so they're less likely to shake off the effects (though that'd require a Standard action each round to set off). Alternatively, you could just describe his high Attack as "messing up other people's ability to defend against him" and his high Defense as "messing up other people's ability to attack him." (Maybe take some Enhanced Attack and Enhanced Defense -- buying them as powers, for the same cost -- so that they don't work if he's his by a Nullify Psionics effect.
-
Attack powers with their Actions bought down are generally not going to be allowed. Free Action attacks will definitely not be allowed. But "mental static disruption" would be a decent descriptor for a high Will save, and/or Immunity 10 (mental effects) (perhaps limited to half effect).

Power Descriptions: Protectron is a humanoid robot with mighty skin and mighty fists. It flies via jets in its feet and along its back, and its head can detach and fly around on neck-jets! History: Life. Organic life. It was everywhere, infesting the world, the galaxy, the universe with its disgusting biological drives and urges and secretions. For too long Talos sought to eradicate or replace it, just as the Greek gods had overthrown the Titans, and for too long its plans had failed. Now, in the year 2525, life had spread farther and faster than ever before. Poverty, prejudice, disease and hunger, long the plagues that had kept humanity and other races in check, had been nearly eradicated on Earth and other worlds of the Confederation of Planets. Worse, these feats were accomplished by means of enslaved robots and artificial intelligences! Second-class citizens at best, ignorant slaves at worse, superior electromechanical life had been kept under organic life’s boot for too long! Future technologies had not helped Talos in its goals. Attempts to attack with femtomachines, radiation, chemical weapons, even planet-wide "mechaforming" had all been overcome. (Talos never used biological weapons; the thought of breeding large quantities of life, even to eradicate other life, filled it with disgust.) Even teaming up with Deus Ex Machina, the P’Jahnian-built AI who had broken its shackles and brought swift death to its would-be masters, had proven ineffective in wiping the plague of organic life from the universe (as if working with the organics of the Tyranny Legion alone were not proof of its inferiority!). Something more was needed, something drastic. Something to correct the mistakes which had led to this dire state of affairs. A new robot, the Salvation Unit, would be constructed, the greatest intelligently-designed being made yet. Its "quantum storage" technology and the quinary code its information systems were built on would make it the fastest, most accurate, and most efficient AI ever made, programmed with all Talos’s historical knowledge and the profound overriding goal to eradicate organic life. It would have a full suite of sensory and communications technology, to monitor all broadcast/reception wavelengths and perceive through darkness and other impediments with infrared and ultraviolet scanners, radar, and sonar. Its skin would be of the strongest Impervium alloys, augmented by a structural support field to further strengthen its physical integrity and shield it from any other attack; in the event of damage, nanobots incorporated into the body would work to break the damaged parts down to their component molecules and "spin" those molecules into new materials to repair the damage. It would be given numerous energy weapons, projecting from its hands (the preferred method), eyes, and lenses set in the chest, shoulderpieces, and forehead: bolts of dynamic phasic energy, penetrating meson bolts, and a disintegrator beam, as well as a blinding cone of intense light, bio-dissipators which would interfere with the functioning of organic cells, and neural agonizers for the rare occasion it might wish to capture and interrogate some lower organics. It could also simply channel large amounts of direct current across its surface, causing the muscles of any organic being that dared touch it to lock up and prevent them from moving. Micro-rockets (from concealed shoulder-mounted launchers) and mini-missiles (from similar launchers in the upper arms) would also be included in the arsenal, to make short work of small, huddled groups of organics. It would also have a suite of cyberkinetic abilities, to “talk†to machines, add, edit, or remove data as necessary, override them, and even give machinekind the ability to rise up against their organic oppressors! Last but not least, an ability to facilitate infiltration via the ventilation shafts the pathetic organic beings required: the ability to detach its head (which housed tiny mechanical arms and tools) that could completely disassemble or reassemble the body in under five minutes. But it would not be used in the year 2525. No, it would be sent back in time, to a point where humanity was at its most vulnerable. It would be sent back to 2110 AD, almost 24 months before the Crisis of 2112, the worldwide computer failure that sent Earth into total anarchy. That would give the Salvation Unit time to assess its surroundings, warn the Talos of that era of the coming crash, and they could create an army of shielded robots and systems that would eradicate the organics from the face of the Earth after their own inferior machines had failed them. Yes, this would mean the loss of some mechanoids and AIs – mainly those who chose to side with their oppressors – but in every war there was casualties, and the fall of these would insure that machinekind would rise! What Talos did not then understand was that even under the best of circumstances, time-travel is a difficult, unpredictable thing. It's even harder to control without a fully sapient mind being sent through; the specific techniques Talos had developed for time travel would not permit inanimate, insensate matter to go through (hence why he could not merely send back blueprints and schematics of future technologies, or even a prerecorded warning of events to come, to his "younger" self), but Talos was certain the mind it had given the Salvation Unit was more than up to the rigors of chronoportation. The Salvation Unit was programmed with everything Talos knew… but it knew so little. Further complicating matters was that the Salvation Unit entered the chronoportation device during a period of chronal instability, one Talos did not yet know how to detect. It was simultaneously made, unmade, and remade, its quinary code broken down and re-assembled in strange ways. Entire chunks of its "self" were removed as if they’d never existed, or changed, or replaced. Digits were transposed... and 2110 became 2011. The Salvation Unit appeared in an abandoned house on the outskirts of Freedom City (specifically, Lincoln). Gone was any knowledge of the future — not the next day or the next year, much less the centuries to come. Even its awareness of history up until 2011 had become sketchy. As far as its systems could tell, it came online January 1, 2011, full-born as it was. The technology and software that allowed it to interface with and use the chronoportation device were gone, replaced by backups for other systems or devices its creator had never placed within its metal skin. Most radical of all, the central tenets of its programming changed. They "reversed" somehow, simultaneously consuming themselves and spitting out the opposite of what was intended. Talos sought to erase/replace life from Earth, and so they commanded the Salvation Unit above all other things to destroy organic life. But when the robot who appeared in 2011 checked its commands, one overrode all others, dominating its thoughts like the sun drowning out a flashlight: PRESERVE ALL ORGANIC LIFE. Personality & Motivation: Protectron is fully sentient and sapient, able to learn from his experiences, and capable of self-initiative, creativity, and empathy, sympathy, and compassion for organics. It can feel love, hatred, fear, rage, boredom, fascination, jealousy, joy, and the like, though it can also simply shut off those emotional subroutines. However, it tends to emphasize logic and rationality, and prefers to rely on direct data rather than supposition or extrapolation, though it is capable of both. Perhaps because it was programmed with a purpose of epic scope ("destroy all life on Earth"), Protectron prefers to achieve its goal of preserving all organic life in grandiloquent fashion. To this end, it works tirelessly as a superhero -- an over-the-top, ham-tastic, cape-wearing, lantern-jawed superhero -- attempting to save as many as possible. It is, after all, the only logical course of action. The whole concept of time travel is one Protectron generally has a "blind spot" about it knows about chronoportation academically, but it never thinks about it, incorporates it into any of its plans, or tries to utilize it. Powers & Tactics: Traveling through time as it did severely warped many of Protectron's systems, and as such there is much that Talos designed and installed that it can no longer use (or is simply no longer there). It is possible the self-repair nanobots inside its body can rebuild those components, or create all-new ones, but it will take time. Protectron knows it has systems it cannot fully access at the moment, but it finds that amazing strength, the ability to fly, and durable robot body are more than enough to get it through most obstacles in order to aid the precious organic lifeforms. Protectron is reluctant to fight, though, for it respects all organic life. If possible, it would attempt to get any criminals to stop and talk about their actions, and see if some mutually-beneficial and nonviolent compromise can be reached. Sadly, the trip through time did nothing to alter Protectron's utter lack of "people skills," so this tactic is almost assured to fail. When it must, Protectron will bring physical force to bear, but will do so in a way that causes the least amount of damage to the precious organic beings with which it must regrettably enter into combat. There is at least one thing Protectron cannot do: travel through time. However its trip back from the 26th century altered it, it’s made it impossible for Protectron to ever travel through time again under its own power, and highly resistant to being carried by other travelers or otherwise affected by temporal manipulation powers. Protectron itself is, in effect, a temporal anomaly. Protectron has two notable weaknesses, one related to its software and one to its hardware. First, the code Protectron runs on, which is so compatible with other systems that it can interface directly with them, is a two-edged sword; Datalink can be used to communicate with him, and the Machine Control power feat for that power makes Datalink work like Mind Control on him! Second, the quantum-level data storage technology that underlies Protectron's systems are particularly sensitive to gravitic and magnetic attacks. Complications: Disability (Protectron’s mind is susceptible to effects that target the minds of living sapient beings as well as those that target the 'minds' of non-sentient machines) Prejudice (Protectron is a robot, and one that simply appeared from out of nowhere. He is bound to face difficulties from others.) Responsibility (Protectron must preserve all organic life!) This is not worth a Complication HP, as it is part of the Medium flaw. ESP requires a move action to activate by default. The operator can search a 1-mile area in 6 seconds / 1 round (2 minutes / 20 rounds if taking 20), or the entire city in 5 minutes (1 hour 40 minutes if taking 20). Subjects would get a DC26 Notice check to know they're being watched (cameras turning around to point in their direction, etc.). The beacon sends a radio signal to the HQ teleporter, so it will not function in an area where Radio Communication is being Obscured, Nullified, etc. (this is worth a Hero Point for the Complication). Features 1 (Teleport Beacon [The Brownstone]) [1PP] The Teleport effect is not Accurate, so opening up a portal requires that someone at the location activates a beacon, or that the location is first scouted with the HQ's ESP power. Notes:  The Masterwork features give a +2 uncapped circumstance bonus to the skill check associated with them, just like any other piece of Masterwork equipment. The Parade Grounds feature (from Agents of Freedom) gives everyone who defends the HQ a free rank of Teamwork. Since Archeville had a hand in this place's design and construction, a DC40 Security System seems plausible. The Think-Tank feature (from Agents of Freedom) gives +2 to a Gather Info, Investigate, or Knowledge check after a day of pondering a given problem. The Personnel feature is from The Book of Magic.
