1. Dok would not allow Push on the Interceptors at this time.
2. That sounds more like Auditory ESP.
3. Protectron stood by Dragonfly's side, its processors humming away happily at both being allowed to the upper floors of The Lab and at the prospect of meeting someone new. On the table before them was the tray of snacks it had brought up, a simple gathering of assorted fruit and small bottles of chilled water. When Miss Americana, Sharl, and their guest arrived, it regarded each of them with its cold, unblinking eyes, but lingered a bit longer on the newcomer. "Greetings, Commander Harrison," it said flatly. "Would you care for a refreshment?"
4. Done. Also, your large backstories make finding the mechanics in code form a nightmare Small additions to Protectron, based on something in its fluff that I neglected to reflect in its stats: Feats add Improvised Tools [cost 1PP] Powers add Additional Limbs 2 (2 tiny robotic arms in the neck; Note: Sustained Duration; Flaw: Limited [only when Anatomical Separation is active]) [1PP] Additional Limbs 2 (2 tiny robotic arms in the neck; Note: Sustained Duration; Flaw: Limited [only when Anatomical Separation is active]) [1PP] And for Dead Head: Feats add All-Out Attack and a second rank of Takedown Attack [cost 2pp]
5. I would be interested in knowing how much of their increased revenue is from new Gold (i.e., paying) subscribers, and how much is from the Silver (i.e., free) members doing microtransactions for things like costume bits, the 'premium' Archetypes, travel powers, henchmen/sidekicks, adventure packs, and so on.
6. The entire game's content isn't free.
7. Protectron Free Action: Maintain Grapple! Move Action: Anatomic Separation! Move Action: Flight! Free Action: Express concern!
8. Tiny jets of exhaust hissed out from the strange robot's neck as the head separated and flew off towards Blueshift! Tiny tool-bearing arms unfolded from the neck, and one gently prodded her. "Miss, do you require medical attention?"
9. Champions Online gains profits and players as a free-to-play
10. RL issues have shifted focus, but intensity has increased. Posting will still be erratic-to-nonexistent this week.
11. Works surprisingly well on my comp (and it couldn't run City of Heroes, Mass Effect, or Overlord). Only oddity I've noticed is that when my guy picks something up, the object he's lifted becomes invisible.
12. Not quite. So Mutt'd get a chance to save to shake off the Shaken condition after 1 minute (10 rounds). Though, yes, he did run off.
13. One complaint I've repeatedly heard is that there isn't much content, period.
14. There's a CO discussion thread at the ATT, here. There's been a recent post by one of the F2P beta testers. Also, word on the CO Wiki is that two more Archetpyes are in the works: Devastator (Heavy Weapons) and Inventor (Gadgeteering + Summon powers).
15. Wonder Woman as proof of abiogenesis?
16. 2 and 3 sound the most viable. The gravity controller idea sounds kinda limited, though, if it's specifically not controlling the strength of gravity. What else do you envision the char capable of doing aside from shifting gravity's pull on himself to enable wall-crawling? Flight, at a rank/speed no greater than terminal velocity of an object in freefall?
17. No, no, please, don't hold this up on my account. Feel free to have a werewolf tear off Dead Head's head, to show they mean srs bsns!
18. Due to RL issues taking time away from here, I'm just going to have Dead Head Interpose on behalf of his allies against any nastiness that comes their way.
19. More RL issues, posting rate will continue to be erratic.
20. Check local listings for specific time/channel.
21. Dead Head is Fearless, he auto-passes the save. Mutt is not Fearless, so... Will save, DC 18 (1d20+5=13) fails by 5! He flees, tail tucked between his legs.
22. Tonight on Jeopardy!, the IBM Challenge will feature IBM's Watson (an AI designed to answer questions posed in natural language) facing off against two former Jeopardy! champions, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter, in two matches to be played over three days (Feb 14th-16th). The winner of the competition will receive $1 million, while the second- and third-place contestants will receive $300,000 and $200,000, respectively. Jennings and Rutter have pledged to donate half their winnings to charity, while IBM will donate 100% of Watson's winnings to charity. This is the first ever man-vs.-machine competition in Jeopardy!'s history
23. "" At the clock's chime, he spun in midair and glared at the clock, then spun back to face Mona. "" "" His hovering wavered, and his face contorted, scrunching up in rage. "" He clutched his head, and began listing to one side. Archeville roared, which shifted to a scream, then fell to the ground.
24. Archeville joined in with enthusiastic applause. His smile broadened just a bit, and got just a bit toothier, when his eyes slid from the happy couple to Mona. Soon he as on his way to the reception, but intercepted by Professor Quill on the way. He smiled and shook the man's hand, "Brainiac Brunch! How have you been, sir?>" ""
25. As Eddie looked on, the pool of blood faded to black, then faded from view entirely! Soon the police and EMT crews began poking their heads in from the doors along the back, and from the boxed seat areas. "Everyone alright?," one called. "All the actors and singers are accounted for backstage!" "Hey!," Muse called out to Eddie and Slick, "that one in the back, on the far left -- isn't that the one Silver Scream killed?" Focusing on the indicated officer, Breakdown and Slick could both see that, yes, it was indeed the same officer Silver Scream had stabbed dead with her Valkyrie-Spear!
