  1. She had more ranks back then? So... 24pp to work with? Regen, no, since that's a Permanent power. Healing... I'm reluctant on, since it'd remove much of the urgency/drama... but I'll allow it as I know what seeing her healing so quickly will do to Mysterious Stranger  Since Healing is by default a full action, you'll need to buy the Action down to be able to use it, since she's Staggered. Also, keep in mind that -- since she is Disabled -- if the Healing check fails, her condition will worsen to dying. (The free Diehard feat everyone has means she'd automatically stabilize on the following round.) EDIT: Actually, scratch that, she's stunned, so she can't do anything but bleed. Well, she can take reactions... like spend an HP to gain an Alt Power feat... so, yeah, she still can!
  2. ... did GigantoGhoul hit, or miss? Move Action: Intimidate check to Startle; -5 penalty to do so as a move action already figured in (1d20+10=14) ... I'll let that stand, this time. Standard Action: Attack with shovel; Power Attack for -5 Attack/+5 damage; DC 29 Toughness if it hits, 31 if the Startle actually worked (1d20+6=20)
  3. In case you've missed it, the Green Lantern trailer is up.

  5. Archeville nodded enthusiastically, "indeed so! Sey did excellent vork, und everyding appears to be in tip-top shape." "Ah, I do haff an... odd qvestion for you, dough," he added. "Back in May, during de Grue Invasion, did you experience any... vell, anyding unusual? Any odd sensations, physical or mental?"
  6. I'm still hammering out a few details, so feel free to keep posting social stuff.
  7. Wait, they's actually listenin' t'me, an' workin' accordin' to my suggestion right off the bat? Dang, that's new! Anyone standing near Dead Head would hear a whimpering sound. As if from a large dog. He knelt, and patted the air before him, "easy, boy... don't smell nuthin' too bad, hunh? Well, guess that's somethin', then. Still... you ready t'work?" A bark issued forth from the air near him. The zombie rose, and looked at Push and the others. "so I'm thinkin' I go in an' distract the cultists -- they's usually easily distracted by me -- while Mutt here sneaks in an' grabs any shiny thin's off'a the head guy. An' y'all come in after a spell an' take 'em out while I'm entertainin' 'em."
  8. But what does Carcass the Wonder Dog smell?
  9. I've said before I'm not comfortable with the Lab having the ability to reliably make extradimensional portal (that's something I feel should be stunted off a Dramatically Malfunctioning experimental device), and that goes for time travel, too.
  10. Speaking of interruptions... Do those sacks looks like they might contain people/bodies? What's it smell like when they're burned? Because if Dead Head even suspects there are bodies in them, he's running in.
  11. "Mathhhter!," Igor!Vince slobbered across the displays in the Hanover home of Doktor Archeville. "There is... a dithturbance!" He pointed at the image behind him, the Brownstone at the end of a long, tree-lined road, squatting under dark stormclouds. A shriek split the air -- a recording of Grim's shriek, when she'd been startled by a spider in the shower one evening. Archeville looked up from the worktable he was at, where he'd been working on a new type of brain scanner, combining high-resolution photography with specialized fluorescent molecules that would bind to different proteins and glow in different colors. The large watchmaker's loupe strapped to his ace magnifying one eye to comical proportions. "A disturbance? What sort?" "A woman, mathter! Natalya Browning -- Bombthell!" Lightning flashed and thunder boomed dramatically behind him. "Tayla, eh? Is she there with Elena?" "No, mathter! She ith there... alone!" And flash and boom, and a male scream (recorded when Colt discovered Eli had accidentally melted his Lightning Bug DVDs). "Alone? Innnteresting..." He tapped his chin with the tiny screwdriver in his hands, "my involvement with the Interceptors is still a secret, so it would look suspicious for me to suddenly show up. I do not know if Elena has told her of my involvement with them, and I would prefer as few people know it as possible. Besides, I am sure she is there to see one of them -- probably Lynn, following up something from her birthday. Or maybe... hrmm." He nodded, "there is probably no threat to you or anyone there, but keep a sensor on things to be sure. Trust, but verify, and all that." "Yethhh, mathter!," Igor!Vince slobbered, and staggered off-screen. Archeville smiled and chuckled a bit, then returned to his work.
  12. Welcome back, Cy!
  13. What if... we talked about FC PbP the same way we talk about comics?
  14. Yeah, pop an HP for the favor. Darksider? Sand?
  15. "I, lil' lady," the figure said with a deep bow, "am Dead Head." He glanced up at Push, "Deadman's some other feller." The strange figure turned his head -- more than any living person ought to be able to -- to look back at the window, "I see two folks throwin' sacks'a somethin' inta a big fire pit, an another feller standin' on some sort'a podium. Big blob'a silhouettes near the fire, too." "So, whatcha say we set up a big ol' distraction while you three get in position ta take 'em out?"
  16. The approaching heroes spotted something else, too: a man in very ratty clothing, standing guard outside one of the ground floor windows! "Y'all best keep it down," he said in a strained whisper, without turning. Big ol' fire pit... two folks in shadows, throwin' sacks into the fire pit... 'nother shadow-man standin' on some sort'a podium... an' a big blob'a silhouettes near the fire. Looks like that tip was right. After a moment the man turned... but it was no man at all, but a zombie! "Oh, hey... Push, right?"
  17. Would Dead Head have time to Take 20 on a Notice check (which would take him one minute)? If so, he gets... 20. EDIT:
  18. The Doktor stroked his chin and nodded, "was that the first... ritual you had attempted from the book? What about others, do you know what happened when other attempted to use it?" "And were the changes only physical?" He ran the Screwdriver over the Kid's head and torso (though still kept a wide berth from the tome), "any mental or psychological changes?" He scanned the tiny ball of eldritch flame in the Kid's hand, too. "Have you felt ill since your change, or changed when you did not mean to?"
  19. Something very important to keep in mind: unlike in both Champions/the HERO System and D20 System games, Dexterity has absolutely no impact on your defense. (Nor does it affect your ranged attack, nor does Strength affect your melee attack.) Dex does impact your Reflex save, though, which is used in avoiding Snares and Area effects.
  20. Point of clarification, the magic wasn't at the fire, it was at the streetlight Colt'd cuffed him too. And, yes, JoaB sees it on the guy's wrists, at the same "non-active magic item" level. Initiative for Mysterious stranger (1d20+7=9)
  21. Indeed so!
  22. ... "DJ" in this context means "dinner jacket", right?
  23. I suppose we should; it's possible he may go again before one of you obliterates him.
  24. It's an opera, and one of the most epic ones of all time to boot. What'd you expect, Cliff's Notes? ;)
