  1. I've had Restricted (Must have Knowledge [Technology] of +X or better to use) on Dok's Screwdriver/Gadgets for some time, with X = his PL, and that seems to have worked alright.
  2. Archeville spat out that last bits of the black gunk, a look of sheer revulsion on his face. "What... what is this stuff?!" Revulsion giving way to confusion, the Doktor wiped his mouth with his sleeve while looking all around him. Seeing the others, he dove towards Kid Cthulhu, Wander, Phantom, and the unconscious Squrm in the water. "Is everyone alright? Is that thing dead?"
  3. Archeville dropped the scanner and ran to Lynn's side, "oh... oh, I am sorry! I am so sorry!" He put his arms around her shoulders, "I... that is... well, I do not know! But surely there is some way to find out, yes? I mean... ahh..." His mind raced through what little he knew of faerie lore, "the tales are full of children being abducted by faeries, replaced by changelings; surely there is some way to tell the difference, and if these Summer and Winter Courts are so different, perhaps there are way to tell a Summer fae from a Winter fae. Who might know that?"
  4. Elsewhere, unknown to the assembled heroes (though likely suspected by some), another watched the team go through its 'training,' assessing their moves, their actions and reactions, and the superhuman skills on display. "Lynn has been practicing," Archeville mused, turning from the video feed and examining the readouts, "and Eric and William both remain in top form. And Vince -- oh, I am so proud of my 'little man'! They seem to have adjusted well to taking orders from him, as I had predicted, though it is still a relief to see it in action." He turned to another set of readouts, "Energy readings from Eli and Mona are at optimal levels... speaking of, I do need to see if Ellie will let me get a read on hers, they would be a boon to ArcheTech's medical division." Then he looked up at Wander. "Hrm... last time you saw me, there was some... unpleasantness, and for that -- as well as the fact I am still keeping my involvement with the team a secret -- I think I shall not pop over. Though Eli did almost spill the beans... but Erin did not seem to notice; perhaps she thinks he referred to Vince as 'Doc'."
  5. One way is for Goss to treat her ASTRO Labs stuff as her 9-to-5 work, and The Lab as something she does as a side thing, in the afternoons and weekends. (Is that realistic? Eh, as realistic as anything else we do here )
  6. Doable, sure; you'd need to reduce the Speed and Quickness by 1 (punch fast = moar damage!), which... actually won't affect anything ;)
  7. Amusingly, a very similar joke was made recently in the comic strip Pickles, as seen here and here.
  8. Initiative for Dead Head & Mutt (1d20+2=14)
  9. House- and dog-sitting for my mom this Saturday-Sunday, not sure how reliable the 'net connection will be this weekend.
  10. "Son of a...," Archeville grumbled as he saw the turn of events. "Gossamer, Phalanx, see to de civilians; I vill try und redirect de robots!" Archeville's fingers danced over the controls to his Screwdriver, then he pointed it at the center of the strafing 'bots. He'd hoped that he had gotten a strong enough copy of the signals Havok had been using to direct them to send his own control system, and make them veer off and come in from another angle (and thus buy the heroes some time).
  11. Reaction: HP to cancel fatigue (3 now) Move Action: Reconfigure Gadgets Mind Control 15 (Robot Control Systems Override; Extra: Area; Flaws: Action [Full], Unreliable [50/50 chance]) Free Action: Extra Effort to SURGE and gain another move action. Full Round: Use Mind Control Unreliable check; 1-10 does not work, 11-20 works (1d20=16) Mind Control check (1d20+15=31)
  12. Also, if you only have one PC, you may do a duet with another player who has only one PC. EDIT: However, in keeping with the theme of the Vignette -- chars meets who would not otherwise normally meet -- have them do so in a place or manner that would not typically come up. Perhaps they encounter each other in the civilian ID while grocery shopping, or in the ladies' room, or at a sporting event.
  13. Kid Cthulhu falls, needs to make a Toughness save, DC 18. Erin falls with him, but she's got enough Impervious it doesn't matter.
  14. Phantom's spell of nullification was cast, creating a bubble about her that attempted to undo all magical and dimensional effects. Blake Salazar felt a wrenching in the pit of his stomach, but whatever unnatural forces empowered him fought back, and he remained Kid Cthulhu. Wait, no -- his wings! They shriveled under the dimensional guardians' assault, and he (and Erin) plummeted into the ocean below! The primary target underwent an equally intense transformation. From his limp, glass-eyed position hovering in the air, Archeville suddenly arched back and let out a gurgling roar! His limbs warped and distended, hands and feet swelling to twice their normal size and sprouting veiny webbing that just as quickly melted away, and patches of skin hardened and twisted into a rainbow of scales before sloughing off and falling into the sea, but dissolving into the aether before actually hitting the water. His mouth warped, first a lamprey maw, then a piranha's fangs; one ear folded in upon itself while the other widened into a broad fin; his eyes bulged and bugged, going all black, then blood red, then blue-green. Finally the mutations stopped, and the German scientist resumed his normal handsome appearance. He looked up to Phantom, confusion giving way to relief, "what... what happened to-" He spasmed again, and vomited up copious amounts of a foul blue-black gunk! Taylor was relieved, though, for she could tell this was the last of the Squrm's influence -- and whatever had been in Archeville that it had latched on to -- being purged from him.
  15. Radium is bound/helpless, so his Defense is 5 (same as for any immobile man-sized object), and melee attacks made against him are at +4. So that 12 hits. Toughness save, DC 34 (1d20+8=20) fails by 14, he is staggered & stunned! (She could use Extra Effort to stunt something to give her just 1 more rank of damage, so he fails by 15, and goes unconscious... )
  16. "Years of practice, liebchen," Archeville replied to Fulcrum while raising his glass to hers (he'd set the one he got form Fassbinder aside on a table earlier). "As for fans of your artwork, well," he smirked and shrugged, "even if there are not any currently here, I am sure that is only because they have not yet had the chance to marvel at your artwork!" Victory's request was met with a smile, "of course I would be happy to help you, Lieutenant! I do not know what sort of flares you have on you, or what our esteemed host has in his cabinets, but I am certain I can whip up something! I believe I can come up with some stirring music to accompany, too! Mona, dear," he turned to his amazonian amour, with a very mischievous glint in his eye, "would you be willing to help in this worthy artistic endeavor?"
  17. Giz, it's still your turn. Or, since the Halloween Vignette (which this thing ted to) is over, we can stop round-by-round and do a more freeform, broad-stroke style of combat.
  18. durf, did you want to finish this?
  19. Hello? We finishing this?
  20. Is this going to continue?
  21. Archeville looked on silently as the group took his off-handed remark about starting their own think tank and ran off with it, and smiled. "Though mein own duties mit de Freedom League, ArcheTech, und ozher organizations prevent me from contributing much to dis projekt," he said at last, "I vould certainly be interested in helping get it off de ground. I do know many of de construction crews dat operate in Hanover, und could give recommendations. I can probably arrange for ArcheTech to offers a substantial discount -- if not outright donations -- of assorted materials needed to get de facility operational. Of course, I vould haf to do so in a vay dat does not make it look like I am setting de facility up as a subsidiary of ArcheTech, dis is to be your baby."
  22. "Ah, so you still have no idea why you were saved and changed?," he asked while continuing to scan. "I certainly hope you are not a sleeper agent, like Atlas was!" The Doktor looked over the readings from his scanner, brow furrowing as he did -- because she did not read as a Metahuman. "I believe you said once that your body is 'glamour,' is made of 'magical' energy, same as the items you create, and that it is equally under your mental control, yes? If this energy shared certain properties with electromagnetic energy," he glanced over at the blacksmith's forge, then back to Lynn, "that could explain why iron affects you so negatively.".
