  1. Yes to both! And let's say DH gets one for his Hideous Appearance.
  2. Trevor heard bones cracking in the thing, and the small lump on its back indicated that a rib has not just broken but broken through its skin. But it seemed to pay no attention at all to the strikes. And Trevor saw (and heard) why: the injuries healed almost as soon as he'd inflicted them, bones re-knitting and putrid flesh melding back together. "Yer hittin' me with sticks," the creature mused, arching and popping the last of its spine back into place, "which further indicates ta me that you ain't a specter or any other sort'a spook." It turned and looked at where he assumed his assailant was. "So what are ya doin' here, hunh? Y'ain't workin' with tha others what knocked out all these folks, is ya? 'Cuz if so, I'm gonna have ta keep beatin' on ya." [bg=#000000]He's evil! He stopped me from trying to feed my family![/bg] The zombie again looked past Trevor, "alright, explain yerself, man. You faced this guy, yeah? When? Where?" [bg=#000000]It was... years ago! Decades! Back when I was alive! Times were hard on everyone, see, and all I was gonna take was-[/bg] "Wait," the zombie continued, cocking its head to one side, "you stole? And this fella stopped ya?" [bg=#000000]It was to fee my family![/bg] "Well, no wonder ya thought the guy was a monster..."
  3. Certainly so. It's also enough forTrevor to have heard (both from occult chatter he's picked up, and his girlfriend) that the Revoltin' Revenant has taken blows to the head and they didn't affect it any worse than blows to its body. (I.e., Dead Head has Immunity to Crits, and targets immune to critical hits suffer no additional damage from sneak attack.) If it makes you feel any better, DH can't make the Notice check to beat that Stealth check.

  5. Attack vs. Midnight II (Defense 23; DC 22 Toughness save if he hits) (1d20+9=22) Missed 'im by that much. EDIT: Ah-HA! Forget they weren't yet in melee range, so, charge! +2 attack, -2 Defense; that does hit Trevor. EDIT 2: And miss chance for Trevor's Obscure: Miss Chance for Midnight's Obscure. 1-10 = miss, 11-20 = hit (1d20=2) ... I'm gonna use Dead Head's one HP to re-roll that. Because being able to actually lay his cold, dead hands on Trevor makes him that much creepier.
  6. [bg=#000000]He's a monster! Look at him! He's come to steal these people's lives![/bg] ~He is a monster! Probably a wraith or spectre. Good thing I know how ta deal with them types!~ "Smarter, yeah," the intruder drawled. "An y'know what else?" The Revoltin' Revenant suddenly broke into a sprint, and actually managed to strike Trevor's jaw! "Faster, too!" "Now... waitasec -- no tingle. You ain't a wraith, yer solid. Hey!" It seemed to be addressing the spot where it had been standing. "Is y'all bein' honest with me?" [bg=#000000]He is a monster! He ruined my life![/bg]
  7. And now something I should've done earlier: use Dead Head's Well-Informed to see what he knows of Midnight. Gather Info check for Well Informed (1d20+1=4) ... clearly Trevor is a lying wraith who came here to devour these people's souls! (Or, Dead Head's getting misinformation from the spirits of gangsters Travis once fought.)
  8. Please remember to put [iC] in the title of any new threads you make, so the AutoCounter can get them. (and making entries in the Timeline for your new threads would be nice, too )
  9. "Nah," he mumbled, adjusting his scarf slightly to make sure his face remained concealed. "Ain't been in town long. Heard this was a good place to get a bite, an' sleep without worryin' 'bout rats. It's... it's a nice place ya got here, padre. Looks real safe, here. Lots'a dangers out there." Okay, let's see what reaction that gets. Hunh, wonder if I should tell the padre here I'm an undercover investigator? It feels wrong lyin' to 'im, an' that would be closer to tha truth....
  10. DC Adventures Design Journal #7
  11. Archeville cast a sideways glance at Ace. "You und your big mouth..." Before even Ace could get off a quip, the Doktor was in the air, sheathed in his blue-gray force field, pursuing one of the feline Grue. "Agile little thing," the Doktor muttered as he did some on-the-fly adjustments to his Electromagnetic Screwdriver, "but let us see how good you are at dodging... dis!" Archeville's techno-wand sparked and buzzed angrily as it unleashed a bolt of blue-white lightning at the creature...
  12. Alright... Free Action: Maintain Force Field Free Action: Maintain Flight Move Action: Pursue Wraith headed towards Mainframe Move Action: Reconfigure Gadget Free Action: Extra Effort to SURGE Standard Action: LIGHTNIIING Attack vs. Grue-Wraith with Blast 15 (1d20+10=24) EDIT: Oops, forgot the Unreliable check. Unreliable check; 1-10 = fails, 11-20 = works (1d20=20) Hrm, wish I'd gotten that on my attack roll ;)
  13. Dok's Notice (even without his brain set on Enhanced Wisdom) is far better than his Acrobatics. And with his Mental Quickness, he can Take 20 on a Notice check as a free action, and get 30.
  14. Okay, who wants to actually continue this, hashing out what's been said OOC, and who wants to just fade to black/end it now?
  15. Archeville stifled a chuckle at Grim's test, then quickly set his face to 'business' mode again and gave er a curt nod. "Changes to de team's charter, Herr Colt," he continued, "or, rather, firmly establishing von, as vell as establishing a leadership role for de team. You haff all done fine jobs as heroes thus far, und I am proud of you, but you -- ve -- could be much better. Und I intend to see dat happen."
  16. Sooo... initiative time again?
  17. From his vantage point atop the Maveric, and his x-ray scope, Colt saw... nothing. The house was empty, there was no one -- alive, dead, or undead -- inside. His eagle eyes spotted the remains of rudimentary barricades at the windows and doors, broken in from something outsids the house. Such as the somethings which had left lots of tracks in the snow and mud all around the house. There was also lots of bullet holes inside the house, and he could make out something that looked like old blood splattered at some of them, as if the bullet had passed through something long-dead. The easiest way for Grim to avoid leaving obvious tracks in the snow would be to shift to Pixie form to fly around back. Given her inhuman agility, though, it wasn't that much more difficult for her to leap from street lamp post to tree to wall to storm gutter and shimmy across it to the back of the house. As she moved, she also noticed signs that there had been many people here, and not terribly long ago based on the depth & freshness of the shoeprints. More crates and fire-gutted steel barrels littered the back yard, she also saw signs of burst-in barricades. Something large, perhaps a reclining chair, had been burned outside, near the back door, not very long ago (an hour, maybe two). Peering in through the smashed windows (or the smashed back door), the remains of a smashed homemade drug lab greeted her. Jack of All Blades also saw the prints, and the busted-in barricade remains. His senses did, after some concentration, pick up faint traces of necromantic juju, same as what was in the zombie powder and the zombies they'd dispatched earlier this night. He was sensing it in the shoeprints in the snow, and the fist-prints in the house.
  18. Indeed. And with his Skill Mastery, he gets 25, which is higher than what DH could get on a Bluff even with a natural 20 and a +2 circumstance bonus.
  19. Dok's going after one of the Wraiths that ran down the hall (he is, by far, the fastest, at least unless Ace whips out some magic carpet). Can he get to it flying, as a move action (i.e., has it moved more than 25,000 feet)? Or are they going around corners and otherwise out of (regular) sight?
  20. Anyone standing near the grill felt a slight, temporary sensation of vertigo. A pinpoint of blue-gray light appeared, which quickly expanded into the form of Doktor Viktor Archeville. He was dressed as he was always dressed: simple black rubber-soled workboots, khaki pants, his softly glowing gravimetric belt, a light blue (transgenic spider-goat) silk shirt, and a clean labcoat. A large cooler was in one hand, and a small envelope poked out of his shirt pocket. "I am not too late, am I?" He flashed a warm smile to all, "I was not sure how long de party vould last, so I came over as soon as I could tear meinself avay from de laboratory."
  21. "Vhat sort of process are you vorking on? Und vhat is eluding you?" Archeville chuckled, "depending on how good your ideas vork, I may offer you a job!" "I do not play anyding routinely, but I am passingly familiar mit most instruments."
  22. "" he replied, still beaming as his mind raced on, "" "" The Doktor retrieved his beer and took a few swallows. ""
  23. Edit the first post in this thread, please.
  24. Please do not use the format for powers given in the 3E book. Use the formal we use here. I.e., his Atomic Bonding power should be written as Create Object 10 (Atomic Bonding; Extras: Impervious, Range [Perception]; Power Feats: Affects Insubstantial 2, Stationary, Subtle) [44pp] Also, it is preferred that you edit the char sheet in the first post of the thread, then list a summary of any changes you've made in latter posts, rather than re-posting an entirely new edited sheet.
