He paused again when she asked about family, and it was only by the continued flicker og the emerald flames in his eyes that she knew he had not 'shut down'. When the silence started becoming uncomfortable, he spoke, "Yes an' no. I have a mother an' father, an' a younger brother an' sister, an' some grandparents an' aunts an' uncles an' cousins. An' as far as they all know, I died -- dead-died -- about ten years ago. I never approached 'em after... well, after."

"Und you are going to show me dis footage, ja?," Archeville asked in a tone that indicated he wasn't asking. "As vell as everyding else you haff on dese individuals. Because I am sure you vould not vant to hinder an investigation..." He paused and lifted up a picture of the youngest girl amongst the surveillance phots, "pertaining to potential slavers und sex traffickers, ja?"

Archeville chuckled a bit at Dark Star's anxiety, "I believe Lady Liberty meant to say dat de threat of de Tyranny Syndicate vas real, und people vere truly in danger, und seeing us perform as admirably as ve did is better dan any test de Freedom League could devise." The Doktor reached over to pat Dark Star on the shoulder, but stopped just short of passing his hand through the intangible hero; he had worked with him before, and knew what to expect. "Und dey are de best, vhich is vhy you deserve a spot on de team!"

"'Course I wanna help!" Dead Head actually sounded offended that anyone would think otherwise. "I mean, seems t'me that two sets'a peepers is better'n one," the revenant continued, wiping a stray wisp of ectoplasm form its mouth. "An' while you chat with the po-po, I can be sniffin' 'round tha bridge, see if any'a Lewis' friends're still around. An' it could be th'old ladie's killed more'n just one innocent drifter -- I can question their spirits better'n you could, I'd wager."

A nice roll indeed. He knows it can harness any portion of the EM spectrum to do pretty much anything any energy controller has done. The healing is new, but Rift's heard of Dark Star and he knows he can heal others with his solar-esque powers, and sunlight's just an assortment of EM waves, right? He's stumped on the energy source, though: that's not enough to figure out what could be powerful enough to put out the required energy, yet small enough to fit into a hand-held wand (and not require much in the way of shielding). Daka crystals don't generate energy (as far as he knows), they just channel and can be used to manipulate it.

When Rift began asking about the Electromagnetic Screwdriver, the Doktor appeared quite surprised at the evidence of the teen's technical expertise. Pleasantly surprised, one might say. "Indeed!" He held the techno-wand up so Rift could get a better look, though was clearly not ready to simply hand it over. "Dis started as a simple electromagnetic blaster, but in time I refined it to harness de entire EM spectrum for a vide variety of uses. Daka crystals, ja, in de focusing chambers -- three of dem, in fact -- but dey merely serve as de main component in channeling und manipulating de energies. De source of de energies is-" "... is not really important right now." He flashed a big grin, "dis is about you, und your abilities!"

Archeville said nothing in response to the Finn's jab, and hovered down after him once he was down the ladder. Once down, he did a quick once-over of the room, then used his Electromagnetic Screwdriver as an ultra-tech document scanner to scan the Japanese script on the crates, and whatever was on the papers. "Vell, vell, vhat haff ve here?," Archeville hammed as he looked over the papers. "Pictures of Claremont students? Schedules for dem? Now, now, Herr Finn, you vould not be expanding from dealing in items to dealing in people, vould you? Forging notices to cancel a field trip so you can redirect de students to some vaiting cronies in vans?"

He turned to her, "und you do not haff to vorry about me getting bored mit your vorld," He reached out and brushed a few strays hairs behind her ear, "I like art, I love film, und I adore pastries!" He giggled and kissed her on the cheek. He turned slightly so he could see which way they were going, though always kept at least one eye on her. "Okay, ve both need to vork on de whole 'letting people in' ding, but dat is fine because ve can vork at it togezher. So, before ve get to de next spot on mein little tour... tell me, vhat is your favorite book, movie, und food."
