'Well, sir, I am sorry for attacking you based on your appearance, too'. Typical living... The zombie ignored the two women, and supervised the skeletons as they crawled back into their graves and re-buried themselves, pulling the dirt in as they burrowed back down. "Alright, now, gents -- an' ladies -- everyone back in yer homes. Sorry fer inconveniencein' ya, false alarm an' all that. Mebe next time, right?" Once they were all gone, the zombie used its shovel to smooth out the ground as best it could. "Hunh, need t'call that Fleur gal," it murmured, "get her ta re-do th' grounds. Wonder if she's awake?" The zombie began to trudge southward.

"Such a tiny, precious bundle," Doktor Archeville murmured softly, looking on with not a small amount of pride at the life he had helped usher in to this world. Sure, Taylor did the lion's share of the labor, ... but he did provide a safe haven in which she could have the child. A part of him was upset that his anti-vampire countermeasures had barely even slowed Dracula, but revising them could wait. "Vell," he exclaimed in his typical Large Black Forest Ham voice, "dis vas definitely de most exciting delivery I haff ever been part of!"

Looks like Avenger's itching to get Phase 2 started, so let's settle on what we're adding to the HQ, and what Colt & Jack of All Blade's new training has done. One week = 7 days = 168 hours to create/install stuff. If we're going by the Invention guidelines for how long it'd take to design/create the new stuff for the HQ, that's 42pp of stuff (since it takes 4 hours per pp)... and I'd go by the cost of any powers, not treating it as if it's a 1pp power b/c the Power feature is only 1 point (one equipment point at that). Things Settled On So Far Silver screens in vents Motion Sensors/Air-Current Detectors Motion Sensors/Pressure Plates Better locks Nullify Form-Altering Powers Nullify Mind Control Anything I miss? Any more suggestions? And since the points in the Power feature is dependent upon the PL of the HQ... what's the PL of the HQ? Average of the team's PL? Equal to the lowest member's PL? Equal to Doc's PL?

After a few quick keystrokes on the console, an array of firearms popped up on the table before Archeville. "Lasers vill come later; for now, basic firearms, de type you vould be most likely to encounter. First, a small 'pocket pistol'" the Doktor said as he aimed a small black pistol at Rift. Three shot rang out in quick succession; the second managed to make it through and grazed Rift's ear. "Fascinating... according to de scanners, de second bullet made it through by following in de sonic vake of de first bullet. Okay, now, someding a bit larger." The Doktor aimed a slightly bigger gun at Rift, and fired three more shots. Again, one bullet made it through, nicking Rift's other ear. "Alright, something a bit larger now." The Doktor aimed an even larger handgun at Rift, and fired just once. That one had considerably more force, and a considerably bigger sonic boom trailing with it, and slightly ahead of it. It slammed into Rift's shoulder, knocking him off-balance; his field fell. "Oh! Are you alright, Herr Rift?" The young hero indicated he was well enough, and wished to continue. Now Rift knew better what to expect, and could better set his field to compensate for the sonic booms that canceled his field and allowed the potentially deadly bullets through. The second shot made it through, but most of its force was dispersed; the third shot was completely halted. "Excellent, Herr Rift, excellent! You are really getting de hang of dis!" the Doktor cheered. "Ready for someding more?" Rift indicated in the affirmative. The Doktor then pulled out a shotgun. "Now let us see how you handle multiple projectiles." Rift did not do nearly as well. The first shot was as bad as the first heavy pistol shot, multiple pellets getting through and knocking him off-balance. The Doktor waited for him to regather himself and re-erect his force field before firing again... and the second shot almost knocked Rift to the floor, and caused some very nasty torso wounds. In a flash, Archeville was by his side, working to get the shot out.

Alright, Burt, time to fess up to yer mistake. An' if it gets Bat-Girl outta here, so much the better. The zombie's features softened a bit, though perhaps that was just its decaying muscle tone. It faced Lady Winter, "Okay, I admit, I jumped to conclusions an' made a mistake due to a hasty error in judgment; I could certainly've afforded t'take my time. I, of all folks, should know not to judge someone based on they appearance. I'm sorry, ma'am." "An' now," it said, turning not to Wander but to the bones at their feet, "I need t'get these fine men an' women back to their rightful place: in their earthy tombs." The bones began to twitch and reassemble themselves...

We're prepping for the last(-ish) part now, I believe.

"They still do hangin's in New Hampshire an' Washington State, fer official executions, but most jes' go fer the lethal injection. 'Course, that don't cover anythin' done by cultists fer their rituals an' whatnot, or suicides or accidents. An' no offense taken, Miss... sorry," the zombie cocked its head slightly, "I didn't catch yer name." Seems on the up-an'-up, I ain't gettin' any necro-vibes off'a her. "As fer disturbances... well, lemme ask." The zombie stood straight up, place two fingers in its mouth, and let out a loud, shrill whistle. "Hey! Anyone seen anythin'?!" it called out. Though it would appear to a muggle that the zombie was just calling out into the night, Robin's senses picked up a definite surge in mystical power.

Hold-Out Pistol: fails first shot, bruised (-1 to save). Passes others. Light Pistol: Passes first two, fails third. Another bruise (-2 to saves). Heavy Pistol: Fails first by 5+, bruised & stunned (-3 saves). (He gives him time to recover and re-erect his force field.) Would Rift want to stop there? If so, that's fine. If not... Heavy Pistol: Fails second shot, bruised (-4 to saves). Passes third. Shotgun w/ Shot: First fails by 5, bruised & stun (-5 to saves). Second fails by 10+, staggered & stunned. Doc stops here and begins medical treatment.

Folks, a small request: when you start a new thread, please mark it on the Timeline (if you have a handle here, you have an account for the Wiki, and anyone with an account can edit it). You do not have to be specific on the date, but I would like to keep track of when things are happening relative to each other. The Timeline also serves as an index for everything we've done in the nearly three years this site's been active, and it's useful to know if X happens before or after Y. :thankyou:

Doc was PL 13 when this happened. And his E.S. was only Gadget 1. Standard action to set Gadget to Extra Effort to SURGE and gain another standard action. Move action to move to Power Corps leader, Standard to use it. HP to nix fatigue. Attack vs. Power Corp member; Defense 14 due to being Grappled by Gossamer (1d20+8=25) Unreliaable Drain Dex; 1-10 = not work, 11-20 = works (1d20=18) It works! Fort save vs. Drain Dex 15 (DC 25) (1d20+6=12) Fort save fails by 13 = lose 13 points of Dex. His Dex is 12 12-13 = -1 (well, 0), so he's paralyzed! And, yes, that is a bit of a dodgy power build, but this thread's been going on for almost a year  It needs to end ;)

"I can," Archeville said as he rose and retrieved his Electromagnetic Screwdriver from a nearby table. "Vhich is more..." he continued as his fingers flew over the techno-wand's controls, and he walked around so he stood on the side of the grappled Power Corps member opposite Gossamer. "...dan I can say..." A large and angrily sparking spike slid out from the tip of the techno-wand. "... for him!" In a surprisingly fast motion, Archeville pulled back and then rammed the sparking spike into the mechanized mercenary. She felt a shock go through the armor, and heard a yelp from inside, then the entire smoking suit went limp. "What the... what'd you do to me, you @#$%^ &*%$#-" "I overloaded de mobility systems of your suit. You may as vell be vearing a refrigerator... an unplugged refrigerator, since I am going to deactivate your cooling systems next. I am going to do de same to your three associates, before dey regain consciousness und cause more trouble. I vill den call de police... but not before letting you stew in your un-air conditioned suits in dis July heat for a vhile." "Ja, it is petty, but it is de first ding coming to mein scrambled mind..."

PengWolf? Still with us?

"Ja... or... I could just rig de lights to flash in such a vay dat it 'resets' your brain, und clears any mind control." Archeville looked to Fulcrum, then to Jack and Colt, then back to Fulcrum and Grim. He let out the slightest of sighs. "Dere are no 'robot doubles' of dem, per se," he said in an oddly apologetic tone, "but I did use scans of Colt's und Jack's fighting styles -- some of de best I haff ever been able to record -- to program de robotic sentries at ArcheTech. On de von hand, it vorks, spectacularly, as von vas actually able to hit Jack vhen he helped get Captain Knievel und Malice out of de ArcheTech HQ. On de ozher hand, it vas an invasion of privacy und an abuse of trust, und von I need to come clean to you all on. I... you all probably suspected I vas monitoring you anyvay, but I should have been explicit about it, und about how I used de information I attained. It is also how I haff been able to provide you mit such superior medical aid, on de few occasions vhen you haff needed it."

Do we still have the HP we had at the end of the Monsters in the Street threads? If so, DH has 3. And used one to stunt a Teleport effect off his Necromantic Powers array.

Blackstone Federal Penitentiary had stood on an small, isolated island a mile and a half beyond Freedom City's Great Bay for 46 years. Before being refitted as a super-prison, it was a military weapons depot and brig affiliated with Lonely Point during the Second World War. In all those years, several inmates had died, and when there was no one to claim the body, the dead prisoner would be interred in a small plot on the island, just inside the outermost walled-in area of the prison. At the plot, where the prison walls met, the shadows grew a bit darker, a bit colder. Death in tattered (chewed?!) biker's leathers appeared from this mini-void. How the heck'd this all happen? Atlas is the last of the Midnighter's I'd expect to do somethin' like this! The figure took a moment to get his bearings and survey the scene. And where the heck is everyone else? I saw Hellion run into the hospital, but Avenger? Phantom? Eh, knowin' Phantom, this ain't her field, an' she's prob'ly busy fightin' off somethin' from beyond space an' time to boot. Drawing his weapon -- a well-worn shovel -- the figure ran towards the closest mob.

There be a problem here: you seem to want Detect Earth, not Earth Awareness. From here: Detect [X] is also what's used for detecting things (like dirt), not [X] Awareness. Maybe drop Accurate and add Analytical?

"I heard about the door thing," the Zombie replied as it continued examining the Hand, "but teleportin's a new one. I'd wager that was somethin' the users had they selves, not in th' Hand." He placed the Hand carefully atop a nearby headstone, then turned back to Robin. "Yeah, ya come to the right guy -- ol' Deady knows all about what's going 'mongst the dead. So, what, you wanna see if you can call up the spirit'a this Hand's owner? Or the spirit'a someone else, someone the Hand's user might've knocked off?"

Starting slow, working up. All are nonlethal (honest!) Need some Toughness saves from you, since your Force Field isn't Impervious. Three of each. DC 17 (Hold-Out Pistol) DC 18 (Light Pistol) DC 19 (Heavy Pistol) DC 20 (Shotgun w/ shot) DC 21 (Shotgun w/ solid slug, or SMG on Autofire) DC 23 (Blaster Rifle) DC 27 (Blaster Rifle on Autofire) Lemme see how those do, and that'll let me know where I'd need to stop in case any knock Rift unconscious. (No point in me writing about half a dozen different weapons if he falls after the second shot )
