... that won't help. Assuming you're using it to use her Create Object power as a way to make the GIANT ICE HAMMA! Why not just use one of those points to add another AP to the Cold & Ice Array Strike 7 (ice weapons; PFs: Extended Reach, Improved Critical, Mighty, Split Attack, Variable Descriptor 2/bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing) [12/14p] That lets you make any hand-held ice weapon, doing up to +9 damage. Dual daggers (improved crit, split attack, piercing damage), a spear (extended reach, improved crit, piercing), a sword (improved crit, slashing), a hammer (bludgeoning) or giant hammer (extended reach, bludgeoning). Even GIANT ICE FISTS! Oh, and you should note she's at -2 attack for +2 damage.

So have you given much thought to the workings of his powers? Or shall I just fire up the technobabble generators?

Archeville listened attentively, and actually cracked a smile and chuckled at the bit about sending a maniac's speech back at him. "Heh, dat is a good von, ja. Okay, time for a bit of testing...." He tossed the datapad to one side and pulled out an odd wand-like gadget from one of the inner pockets of his lab coat, and fiddled with the controls. "I vould like to run a few scans of you, get a baseline reading on you, before ve start examining your powers. Dis is acceptable, ja? No need to get up, you can remain seated for dis part."

:awesome:  Very, very cool! Thanks!

*puts on Judgin' specs* History & motivation look good. Looks good. Her flat-footed Defense is 1/2 her regular Defense, so it'd be +4 (+2 flat-footed) Toughness is off: 4+5 is 9, not 10. But she's got Protection 6, so it's 4+6, which is 10. Looks good, but please note the bonus to Bluff and Diplomacy she gets from Attractive. Such as Bluff 8 (+10, +14 w/ Attractive) Diplomacy 4 (+6, +10 w/ Attractive) What does the Improved Crit apply to? Unarmed? Her Blast? Improvised Weapons would need some Ref debate, since it's from a non-Core book. Her Ice and Blizzard Control Array 7 (Extras: Array) [21PP] should be written as Ice and Blizzard Control Array 7 (14 points; PFs: 7 Alternate Powers) [21PP] (ah, I see you've already done that!) Please note what sense her Dazzle dazzles. For Cold Control, please note the size of the area; for Water Control, pleas note her effective Str and Heavy Load. As written now, her Drain Toughness doesn't affect objects; she can drain people but not doors. To do objects, she'd need Affects Objects extra; if you want her only to be able to drain the Toughness of objects, that's the Affects Objects extra and the Limited to Objects Only flaw (so the cost -- and rank -- would remain the same). Regen: If you've bought 2 extra points of Recovery, her total Recovery bonus is +6. That should be noted somewhere. Looks good. Looks good. Looks good :)

Synthessence - Epic - PL10 Hero
Dr Archeville replied to Synthessence's topic in Archived Characters
Overall history and fluff is good, he'll certainly find many other atoners around Freedom. I do ask that you edit one line, though, the one containing a word which would not appear on a DCAU 'toon. I know you've said you're familiar with the M&M system, but how familiar are you with the FC setting? I ask b/c there are other Atlanteans out there, as well as the Utopians, an offshoot of the Atlantean who survived the Cataclysm and founded a civilization on their own (cloaked) island. And the Big Bad Mystic for the setting, Malador, is an Atlantean. So there's lots of chances to interact with Asa's past. :) -

*adjusts a few things so they fit the preferred char sheet format* Skimmed over it, found a few errors right off the bat. Please list the skills in the proper format: Skill name rank (total modifier) Example: if he's got 4 ranks in Bluff, it should be written as Bluff 4 (+6) (no, you don't need the colors, I just used those to clarify the distinct categories ) You're overspent on powers, but you have a lot of unspent pps in the Device. You also haven't paid for any Impervious (and that should be listed next to his Toughness, not his Con). DC Block is written like so Name of attack --- DC number/appropriate save --- effect The DC number is 10 + rank for non-Damage effects, or 15 + rank for damage. So, for example, his Paragon-y punch (a Damage effect) would be Unarmed -- DC 30/Toughness -- Damage (30 = 15 base + 15 from his Str modifier.) Unarmed --- DC -
"I appreciate all technology, even musical instruments. Gibson has made many innovations, und are de largest manufacturer in de country. Dough..." He tilted his head and scowled a bit, "I do trust you are avare of all de ethical und moral concerns dat surround de ability to manipulate de mind of anozher." "Sooo...," he continued, leaning back a bit and jotting down a few notes, "could you tell me how und vhen you first discovered dese abilities? Also, can you amplify und manipulate any sounds, or only dose you yourself generate?"

Dead Head ... brains brains, brains brains; brains brains, brains brains; brains brains, brains brains, brains brains brains brains... Yes, this odd being was 'singing' the Meow Mix song in its head, but with horribly different lyrics. The Revoltin' Revenant chuckled, though anyone looking at him would have no idea why. Been ages since anyone tried talkin' in my head. An' thanks; ya don't look half bad yerself. When Kid Cthulhu crashed in, Dead Head acted oddly again, this time as if being socked in the gut. He turned frantically this way and that, until he finally saw the Pseudonatural Superhero. An urge to toss it into the ocean welled up in him. Who - What the heck is that? That's jes' wrong! When Jack of all Blades walked up to him, he pointed to Kid Cthulhu. "Jack, you know anythin' about that feller there? I's gettin' a real funky vibe off'a him."- 163 replies

Okay, I know Divine's left. And Durf's been busy with RL stuff, so Phalanx may be with us. ArrowHawk, Jack of All Blades, and Doc are definitely here. Sarah Prescott? Taar, you still with us?

What sort of guitar is Rift sporting? Or, what was it before he started modifying it? Doc'd probably be able to tell what it had been, based on general size and body shape and other elements.
-
"Tell me vhat you know," Archeville said, reminding Rift far to much of several WW II movie interrogation scenes, "about your powers, please." He then flashed a disarming grin and made a dismissive wave, "sorry, sorry, people expect dat from me. All part of de persona, you know. Please, do tell me vhat you haff discovered of your powers, dough, und" he gestured towards the guitar, "vhat sort of modifications you haff done to dat. Dat is a... Gibson Explorer, ja?"

The core FREEDOM CITY setting book.

I'd go with making it like Jack A Knives.

"Treatment for radiation exposure, und a few in de inn suffered some bumps und bruises vhen I vas knocked through a vall by de team's heavy hitter." Mona saw no hint of deception there, though he was treating it as a fondly-remembered part of his past, "dat vas von of mein first real supervillain battles. See, for de first yeears out of college, I traveled around Europe, trying to aid ozhers by repairing und rebuilding dings damaged as a result of Metahuman brawls, or the far more common military und terrorist actions. A 'tinkerer,' if you vill, not really sure of vhat to do. It vas during dose vanderings dat I made many, many contacts, de people I aided und deir friends und relatives. Some of whom proved to be qvite influential." "In short order, dough, I progressed from dealing mit de aftermath of supervillain activities to dealing mit dem directly. Made qvite a few enemies, but made some friends among de European superhero community, too. Even vorked mit Daedalus a few times!" His chest puffed up a bit at that. He nodded as she told of her artistic associates. "Mein mother vas a Bohemian. Literally -- de vord was a common term for de Romani people of France, who had reached Western Europe via Bohemia, vhich is now known as de Czech Republic." Mona detected a touch of loss in his voice. "Mein own musical tastes run mostly to classical, particularly de-" He broke off when he noticed the barrista, and turned away from Mona just enough to flash a smile at her, "ah, hello. Dallamyr Classic, please. Black." "Und a raspberry danish," he quickly added. His attention turned fully back to his date, and continued after she placed her order. "Mein musical tastes. Classical, mostly, particularly de composers of mein homeland und neighboring countries. Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Wagner. I do enjoy some jazz, dough, both American und German, und even a bit of rock 'n' roll und -- believe it or not -- musical theatre!" After the barista had left, he leaned forward and brushed against her ear, "Und if you dink dis is upscale, you haff seen nutzing yet...."

Because it doesn't affect others, it affects you. No, no, no, and no, because none of those are characters. Mimic lets you "imitate one (or more) of another character’s traits: abilities, skills, feats, or powers."

:awesome: :GreatJob: Very nice! Speaking of artwork, my own attempts at making a Dead Head figure keep failing. Would you mind having a go at it?

initiative (1d20+7=13) And on the ride down, switch tentacle-brain to Enhanced Wisdom. Gotta keep his eyes peeled! EDIT: Actually, how long is the elevator ride down? Would he have the full round needed to switch his tentacle-brains around and a standard action to reconfigure his Gadget? That's, like, nine seconds altogether.

Dead Head As Dynamo spoke, he saw the flesh of Dead Head's neck fuse together; by the time the speedster'd finished, the Revoltin' Revenant was whole again. "Eh, tell ya th' truth, I ain't ever figured it out, either. I jes' go with it," he said, flashing a thumbs up and a big (rictus) grin. Now when he spoke, it was in his normal slightly whispery voice, no weird echo-y reverb. "Oh, an' thanks fer tryin' t'Frankenstein me back. But if'n ya see me again like that, jes' lemme be; I'll get back up on my own, by an' by." "Sooo," he drawled, turning his head this way and that to make sure it was on tight, "ya fancy yerself a horror movie fan, hunh? Ya seen any good'uns lately? I used t'go all the time, but lately, well-" He paused when Lukos shouted to Dynamo, "hey, that's the guy what was fightin' Avenger, right? Shame I missed that. What's his name? I missed it, on account'a, well, y'know..."- 163 replies

Dead Head The head, now in Dynamo's hands, pointed at its body with the only thing it could -- its tongue. Which made it look as if the head was giving Wesley a raspberry. "Looks, I appreciate th' desire to go chat up some women-folk, an' yer attempts t' Frankenstein me back, but wouldja mind je's passin' me on? I mean, look at my poor body! Jes' look at it! All stumblin' around, no real clue where it's goin'. It's a cryin' shame, is what it is!" The headless body continued on, stumbling here and there over bits of debris, but still headed straight for Dynamo.- 163 replies

"Likevise, Herr Rift!," Archeville said as he took the opposite seat, "alvays a pleasure to meet new superheroes, und a thrill to meet new metahumans! So," he leaned back slightly, retrieved a small data pad from a nearby work station, and began making a few entries, "vhat can I do for you today, hrm? You made an appointment for some basic testing, but vas dere anyding in particular you had qvestions or concerns about?" Though the Doktor appeared relaxed and laid back, a part of Rift could not help but feel he was being intensely scrutinized.

Der Doktor ist in. And Dead Head, too!
