  1. Isn't "tank" basically defined as "lots of impervious toughness (and maybe some regen)"?
  2. Dead Head "Soo... think she's gonna be back?" Dead Head asked Jack of All Blades as he stood. The Revoltin' Revenant then turned to (and leaned back/tilted up to fully see) Fulcrum, "I 'ppreciate th' assist, ma'am, but I weren't in no real danger. Yer... yer Fulcrum right? Pleasure t'meetcha!" He extended a hand to her, then quickly withdrew it when he saw it was attached backwards. After a twist and a loud SNAP, he extended it again, and it was in its proper position.
  3. Heh, that's what Doc was planning to do, too.
  4. "I vould be very memorable mischief, liebchen," he replied with a sly smile. "I actually did haff a 'varp drive' incorporated into mein belt," he chuckled. "But, it took up too much room, und I figured dat if I ever needed to travel into space, I could either call upon Dark Star, or use von of mein ozher conveyances. I mean, if I am going to travel to an alien planet, I may as vell arrive in style, ja? I can still move, dough," he added with a samba-shake of his hips. Archeville peered over Fulcrum's shoulder when she got the housing on the medical laser removed, and made an inquisitive humming sound. "Hrrmmm... no, definitely not dat color," he circled around to hover opposite her, "Pretty, ja, but so are most poisonous plants und insects. Dis should be completely clear und- oop!" The Doktor had caught the crystal in both hands, tossed it into the air a few times with his left, then snatched it mid-fall with his right. "Daka Crystal," he said in a somewhat grave and ominous tone. "found only in von particular area of de African nation of Dakana, at de site of an ancient meteor crash. For de longest time it vas thought dey vere merely diamonds, dey have almost identical hardness und appearance, but dey are much, much more valuable. Daka Crystals can channel und direct many forms of energy, making dem a vital component in many different forms of technological eqvipment, und a vital commodity. De nation of Dakana has profited greatly from de sale of Daka Crystals, but also suffered many attacks from dose who vould try to seize dem for deir own." He looked around the laboratory, and suddenly darted off to one worktable, retrieving a small box, into which he placed the red Daka Crystal. "Dere, dis should shield you from its effects, und us in case it decides to unleash de energy it absorbed from you." He wrote a hasty note on a Post-It and affixed it to the box before floating back to Fulcrum, biting his lower lip, "dis... dis could be a problem, you know. Given deir unique properties, mein company deals heavily in dem, danks in large part to Ace Danger und Danger International. I vould hate to dink you could not pop in every now und again for a quick visit out of fear dat you vould come into contact mit dese." "Den again," his tone shifted, as were his thoughts, "I am sure I could plan out some safe paths for you, vons vhere no Daka Crystal projects or transports even come near... perhaps set aside a corner vindow office, you could just fly up directly to de-" A very mischievous look crossed his face, and suddenly he darted off, out into the hallway. "Catch me if you ca-an!"
  5. Last night the season finale of Fringe aired. An alternate universe was visited, and we got to see some of their comics. Here they are.
  6. Well, there are downsides to it. Cost, as you mentioned. Also, Regeneration works all the time, whereas Absorption Healing requires you to be exposed to some damaging effect; if he's shot and left to die, Regen would help, but Absorption wouldn't. Flaw isn't a valid Flaw in this case, since Absorption Healing is already Personal. Also, APing Physical and Energy Absorption isn't a cheap way around buying the "Both Types" extra: if you're unable to take an action to switch the Array, it will be stuck at its prior setting. So if he's got it set to Absorb Physical, he's hit with an energy bolt and knocked unconscious & into a fire, he can't switch to Absorb Energy (b/c he's unconscious and not able to act) and the Absorb Physical will do him no good.
  7. That's not an in-game reason (which is what I'm looking for), that's an out-of-game powergamer reason. Ah, so it does. Sorry, I was looking at the new version you have in this thread, which has Homing 4  Sorry, I thought you'd already mentioned that aloud, at least OOC. Not Insubstantial 4 (not damaged by any physical or energy, except for one "common descriptor"), unless the target has electricity as the "common descriptor" that still affects them. And not Insubstantial 3 (damaged by all energy except what you're made of) if it's an electrical energy form.
  8. Asteroid's a good idea, or something breaks loose from one of the labs up there (or break in from outside) and we have to stop it, but of course since we're in a space station in space we have to be careful of hull breaches. And of course the teleporters go out, too. Though, now that I think on it some more, maybe he'll wait 'till he's got her the containment suit before taking her up to his Space Station. Don't want her overloading and bringing the whole thing down! Speaking of playing around in-character, you do realize it's your turn to post IC, don't you? ;)
  9. That's not really an answer to my question. And she already has Homing 4 (10 re-tries), you could only trade in the Incurable for one more rank in Homing, to Homing 5 (25 re-tries). How about trading in the Incurable and one rank of the Homing (dropping to Homing 3, 5 re-tries) and gain Affects Insubstantial 2? You've said her powers are tied to some entity in her mind, it could be adding a bit of psychic juice to her brain-bolts so they can hit targets that are insubstantial.
  10. "" "" he added, ""
  11. Doktor Archeville zipped down from his Hovering Barcalounger (of Doom) with one of his EMT kits. As he worked, he gave Rycon a thumbs-up with his left hand. But after a moment, he began growing concerned. "He can regenerate. Why is he not regenerating?"
  12. Accurate, Autofire, and Homing on her lightning blasts I can easily wrap my brain around, but why Incurable?
  13. Opposed Grapple check to try and escape (1d20+16=19) Yeah, her Grapple modifier is more than 10 points higher than that, so he's goin' nowhere. But he can still taunt/gloat/try to cut a deal.
  14. "Fix him?," the armored man repeated while (futilely) struggling. "Ask Bob Barker, he's the spay & neuter expert!" Then he did something unexpected. He started laughing. "You don't get it, do you? Even if you send me and my boys here to jail, we've already won. We did what we came to do, got what we wanted. That son-of-a-Nazi thought he could ruin us, embarrass us by taking us down so quickly, but we've hit him where it hurts. Soon everything he's worked for is gonna come crashing down, and there's not a blessed thing you can do to stop it, girlie." "So let me go, and I'll tell you how to safely unhook him. 'Cuz as much as I hate him, and wouldn't mind seeing his brain fry, a part of me wants him to see just what we've done!"
  15. And how do you picture that working, mechanically? 2D form is Insubstantial 1, Invisibility, and Penetrating on Str damage; 4D is Insubstantial 3, Penetrate Concealment Hearing & Vision, and Enhanced Str/Super-Str. I'd advise you to not make them Dynamic, just keep them in a regular Array.
  16. How do you envision that working? Having his body be 4D but his arms 2D?
  17. Dead Head "Ohhhh, it's a good thing I'm already dead." The Revoltin' Revenant rolled over onto its back and looked up at the two Jacks. "Man, who was that gal? An' what happened to her? I'm used to folks runnn' in terror, or lashin' out at me in blind panic, but she... " The zombie let out a low whistle, which was distorted somewhat by his dislocated jaw. The zombie's separated pieces twitched and started crawling towards him; the unidentified bits in Fulcrum's hand quivered and slithered out of her hand and towards him. He winked at her with his one good eye. "I totally had her, too, y'know. She was tirin' out, I could feel it."
  18. Interested in more testing, sure. Though, as I've thought on it, testing/stunting something intentionally destructive (like a Blast) would be the furthest thing from Doc's mind now (for numerous reasons), and he'd instead want to test her flight speed (again, for numerous reasons). Perhaps via a merry chase Honestly, I would prefer to wrap this thread up before starting their date thread. I know it's not common around here, but I like to finish one chapter of a story before starting the next. Besides, it'll give me more time to think up what will happen then (Tentative plans: coffee, a return to ArcheTech, where he teleports her to his Castle, then dinner, then from there to his space station, then from there either to his home in Hanover or to an ArcheTech facility. Something unplanned/unpleasant would happen at some point, I just haven't figured out what; maybe an attack while they're at the Castle, by foes who weren't expecting anyone of importance at the place.)
  19. We really can't pursue anything with Zephyr until Shaen restores her to PC status, so I think we can wrap up this storyline for now. In fact, unless you want to add more now, I'm fine with closing it as-is.
  20. "Yes.. no... yes!" The Doktor was still quite agitated, but Grim could tell he was starting to calm. Archeville sat back in his char, and took a big draw on Grim's drink. "Okay, yeah, dat is good. Vell, dat," he looked down and glared at the drink, "is not so good, but I haff had vorse." He looked up again, now straight at her, and took a deep breath before speaking again. "You did an excellent job, Lynn, und you are to be commended. I do regret putting you in such an ethically challenging situation, und dat you vould be going back into it... I never, ever vant you or Jack or Colt to one day say 'but I vas only following orders.' But... you do realize de enormity of dis situation, ja? Ja, ja, of course you do, I see it in your eyes. Alright, den, let us dink just vhat troubles Lenya's family vas in...." ~fin~
  21. Cool, cool. Playah, you wanna post?
  22. See, I'm all kinds of conflicted on this. OOC, I'd like to see this play out; I imagine several others would, too. But, I also don't want to see Wander's psyche & her reputation get even worse, which is what will happen if she does what she's planning to do to DH. I leave it up to Electra. IC, DH does not see himself as being in any real danger (healing and coming back from destruction are his bag, baby), but eventually he'll realize how badly his presence is affecting Wander and he'll try and talk her down from her rage. Which, of course, won't work, since she won't -- or can't -- listen to him. So then he'd leave. With mixed results, since she'd then pursue him like Ahab after the White Whale. As it is, even if they were pulled apart now, the simple fact she knows there is a zombie on this planet is going to do bad things to Wander's mind. Unless someone were to erase the past 30 seconds or so of her memories. which, fortunately, my other character could do, with his Science!
  23. Dead Head glared at the eye-flower, and wagged a finger at it. "Hey now: I'm tellin' you what I've told all them Goth girls, I ain't not biophiliac!" Now he started tearing out the roots from his flesh. Looks like Hell-Boy's got this under control, an' what he don't burn or Eddie don't blast, Fleur can manage. "Let go, ya varmint! I'd let ya be my dog, but not my girl!"
  24. "" "" he continued, using a warmer tone. ""
