  1. Dead Head gets a new Sidekick? I keep having mental images of the warped shovel contorting into a hideous dog-like abomination. Kinda like these, but with the shovel blade forming the top of the head/snout, flower-eyes peeking around, a wooden body and splintered wooden jaw, stiff vines for legs and a more whiplike vine for a tail. EDIT: So is there any roll involved to remove it, or is it all just handwave-y flavor stuff?
  2. So we can either continue this thread, doing more tests -- maybe seeing how fast she can fly, or stunting Blast off her Terminus Array -- or just cleaning up the trashed lab, or we can wrap this up now, and start up their first date thread (taking place either that night, or the next; this meeting took place on a Friday, so either Fri or Sat night). Unless, of course, you had other ideas :)
  3. Well, not casually -- she's able to do it, but only just. Other than that, yes, go to it ;)
  4. If DH wasn't stunned (and thus incapable of taking actions), he'd be giving a thumbs up/"I've got this" sign to Fulcrum & both Jacks. "It's all part of my plan. I'm gonna tire her out!"
  5. Dead Head "Can't go anywhere in this town withou-" Dead Head had been grousing, right before Wander's attack knocked him off-balance and he was lying face-down on the ground. Thought these hero-types were supposed to be accepting of folks who was 'different'. This close, Wander found the stench of death coming off it even worse. And saw that it was still moving.
  6. Toughness save vs. Wander's attack; DC 32 (1d20+18=27) Fails by 5, so he's injured and stunned. Damage 17 - Knockback 15 = 2 points of knockback = Stunned = can take no actions this round.
  7. I'll say his Flight (Flight 5) would be in Device 2, so Toughness 12. Which is less than her Damage + Super-Str (of 13), so if she spends a full round working on it, she breaks it. Convenient, that No need to roll, and it does not affect your Grapple (since Additional Limbs & Elongation both give bonuses to Grapple).
  8. Dead Head... does nothing this round. He turns and walks off. He knows not what is going on.
  9. Dead Head From the Opening Credits: Wander's aim was not quite as true as she'd have liked -- she must be getting soft from her time in this world -- as rather than strike the foul zombie's head clean off its shoulders, she just knocked it mostly off. It still clung on by a few strings of rotting muscle and tendons, but the spine looked severed, so it should fall any moment. It did not. Instead, it glared at her as it replaced its head and the dead flesh knitted back together! "Hey! I's jes' asking fer directions!" it shouted indignantly. It then turned and shambled off; Wander may have heard it muttering "Damn Yankees" under its breath.
  10. Technically, their armor, as a Hard to Lose Device, can only be removed when he's Helpless. Grappled =/= Helpless. However, the last time Doc faced the Power Corps (Scarab was GMing), I was able to shut down their armor with a DC 30 Disable Device check as a full round action (and spending a HP)... but that's b/c Doc has loads of Mental Quickness, it'd normally take several rounds or could be done in one round at DC 50. With Goss's +5 on Disable Device, this isn't really an option. If you're looking to break it, that'd be like breaking any other object. Devices have a Toughness of (rank + 10), and the Power Corp's armor is Device 18, so that's... Toughness 28. As a full round action, she could try and break the "unattended" (he's not preventing you from doing so, since he's stunned this round) object, but that'd requires a (Damage + Super-Str) effect of 28+ to break it, and her Damage + Super-Str is only 13. *thinks* Since I definitely think she should be able to do something, I'd allow Goss to destroy parts of the armor (i.e., certain powers in it, like the Flight, or the Blast, or the Communications/Super-Senses, etc.) at a reduced Toughness. Essentially, treat the armor as a group of Devices, not one big Device.
  11. Doktor Archeville "I beg to differ!," a rich tenor voice called out from above. Coming down across the arena was Doktor Archeville and Fulcrum, astride a most unusual conveyance. Archeville sat in something that looked like a barcalounger, with forest green leather cushions, a cupholder in the left armest, large pockets on either side, and a footrest. Stretching out behind it was a long gurney, with two EMT kits affixed under it; atop the bed was a reclining Fulcrum, embarrassed by the spectacle but enjoying every minute of it. "Dere appears to be several new faces down dere," he called back to Fulcrum. "How exciting!" OOC Note: Doc's chair looks like a cross between Metron's Moebius Chair and a reclining chair. Yes, it is an homage/rip of Professor Farnsworth's "La-Z-Boy of Doom".
  12. The Archeville A Black Forest ham-on-rye-wheat sandwich with an apple butter/mustard spread, tilsit cheese, and sauerkraut. The bread is sliced/toasted at the table, using a class IV laser. Served with fries and one of a selection of dark wheat beers (or lemonade if the customer prefers something nonalcoholic).
  13. He's flat-footed (surprise round; he wasn't expecting the Wiry Wander to leap on him like that), so his Defense is 14 for that attack. Toughness save vs. Wander's attack; DC 32 (1d20+18=19) That'd fail by 13, putting him at staggered, disabled, and stunned. ZOMBIE POINT! Toughness save vs. Wander's attack; DC 32; HP re-roll (1d20+18=38) No damage!
  14. Dead Head The Revoltin' Revenant had been circling the area for some time, unable to find the way in. It hadn't helped that he'd mainly heard of the place via word of mouth from (deceased) fighters who'd used it before (and whose brain-damaged recollections were of little use in getting to the place); he was only there now because he'd overheard Avenger talking about the new post-Grue Invasion sparring session. Hey, a party's a party. He finally saw someone who he'd hoped might help, a tall and wiry girl standing by a large overturned scoreboard. "Uh, 'scuse me, ma'am? I'm a bit lost, I'm lookin' fer the Arena. I came here t' trrrraaaaiiiiinnnn-"
  15. Sure, go ahead
  16. Archeville glided back towards her. "Oh, do not be so quick to apologize, liebchen," he said warmly. "If you had known, if you had had any idea dat dis vould happen," he waved at the destruction around them, "vell, den, you vould not haff come to me in de first place!" He was within arm's reach again, and flashed a warm smile, "Und vhat a shame dat vould be!" He glanced to where her gaze had fallen, to the medical laser he'd used on her earlier. He had glimpsed the odd glow coming from the Daka focusing crystal after he had used it on her, but at the time thought it was just a trick of the light; now he wondered if it was something more. He remembered her reaction to it when the housing had come undone and she was exposed directly to the Daka crystal inside, and how she'd tried to hide just how much pain it caused her. Could the crystal have absorbed some of the energies in her? "Ve are done... in dis laboratory," he said with a wink. "Mein building has several ozher floors, und several laboratories on each floor," he proclaimed, holding his arms in a wide sweep, "so dere are many ozher places ve can go. Ve could even conduct a few tests outside! Of course, if de events thus far haff drained you, I did collect enough data to mull over for some time, so if you vanted to go home und rest... und ve could meet up later tonight, for dinner." He hovered closer, and straightened out her collar, "Or tomorrow night, give me some time to set up someding to really wow you."
  17. Dead Head's initiative (1d20+2=19)
  18. "Ohhh no.... no, no, no, nein, nein.... dieses ist schlecht, dieses ist extrem sehr nicht gut." The Doktor was vastly more agitated than Grim had ever seen, and was up and pacing back and forth and up and down (thanks to his gravity-defying belt). "Child of two Terminus Babies... from de future... did she get a Terminus-derived ability to eat up time itself? Is dat how she is here? But vhy is she here? Vhy?! Ohhh, dis is bad. Dis is extremely very not good...." "I need... I need...," Archeville began, then he suddenly flipped off the wall and landed next to the seat he'd been in. He picked up Grim's file and flipped through it. "Useful, a bit flat in de middle," he critiqued -- yes, he had read the entire report that fast -- "but I need more! If Herr Harris loses it, he goes on a destructive rampage; if Fraulein Albright loses it, she could destroy any mind near here. But if deir daughter is overvhelmed by de Terminus energies mitin her, und it vas her powers dat brought her back to dis time, den... den dings might start retroactively not existing, or portals through time tear open all across de city!"
  19. Sooo... Avenger's turn now?
  20. "Dagnabbit, I just got this shovel, too," the zombie muttered. From a dumpster full of discarded defective shovels, yes -- the paint used on those shovels was from a bad batch -- but it was still new to him! "What're you lookin' at?," he deadpanned to the eye-flower. He seemed unconcerned, for the moment, that it as growing into him. I should probably be more concerned about that... but we got bigger things to worry about right now.
  21. Not using this Gadgets to help on this (should've reconfigured on the way over!), so he's got +27 on Computers. And Skill Mastery, so he can Take 10 under pressure and get a 37. But, I'm feeling lucky, so 'm going to roll. Computer Use check (1d20+27=45) Awww yeah 8-)
  22. Move action to zip down the hallway; he's easily got enough Flight to go anywhere on the map. Free Action to Take 20 on a Notice check (getting a 30) to locate the access panel as he goes. Assuming he finds one, Standard action to shut them down (or at least start working on shutting them down).
  23. The Doktor glanced behind him, following where the laser blast which had been aimed at his face had gone. He glared at the offending laser-sentry... ... then took off down the corridor. "I am going to try und shut dem down, de should be an access panel not too far in!" No sooner had he gotten in than he came across said access panel. His fingers flew over the familiar console, inputting overrides to Malice's override.
  24. I'm very glad that second p is not a second o.
  25. Yeah, my weekends will be spotty for the next month or so, but during the week I'm fine.
