He probably said Gravity Control b/c he thought you were using Gravity Control. His TK's at 15, so just add +2 to the rolls. That's a 20 (not 18) on the first one (fails), but the second one becomes a 31 (not 29), which succeeds.
-
Geez said Gravity Control rank, which is 13, so 1d20+13.
-
Str check (Mighty Jaws of Doom vs. Dark Star's Gravity Control to Heimlich him out of the rhino-mole) (1d20+7=22)
-
I think we're out of initiative now, and are just talking.

vs. Dead Head's Str to see if he holds on with his MIGHTY JAWS OF DOOM?

Mutants and Masterminds 3rd Edition Announced
Dr Archeville replied to Dr Archeville's topic in Off-Panel
Well said, Barnum From the ATT: ICONS is Kenson's new superhero RPG. DC Adventures is out in August. M&M 3E out "in Fall, probably October." Kenson says a lot of the work on 3E is to clear away the legacy stuff from D&D. Has a high degree of backwards compatibility with 2E. Preview: Got rid of ability scores, just use the ability rank (2E ability bonus/modifier). Abilities go from -5 to +20 (not "3 to 18"). Still have feat: "Yes and no." Grappling: "Yes, we still have it; yes, it is considerably different." Superlink license will change to the Super-Powered license. -
30 January 2010 Mona and I have been together for two weeks now, which is a new record for me. I really, really want this to work; she is just so different from anyone else I have ever been with, and I do not want to screw things up with her. There are some problems we face, of course, both social and physical, but she is a trooper, and I cannot be otherwise, especially with her encouragement. Ironically, while thinking of how certain pieces of technology might help us overcome some of these problems, part of my brain has gone into overdrive thinking up other, tangentially-related devices. I have not felt this giddy since my college days! And I can tell I am feeling silly when one realizes the names of this recent spate of devices can all be acronyms for numbers, one trough ten. Omnidefensive Nanite Enhancement (ONE) My labcoat and force field generator protects me from most physical assaults, but not all. Not most, some might say, considering all the indirect methods of harm there are among the Metahuman populations. Thus, I devised the ONE System: colonies of nanites that are houses in the body, constantly monitoring all biosystems, and reacting with lightning speed to any changes outside of specific preprogrammed parameters. Poisons? Diseases? The nanites can quickly break them down into something the host's immune system can manage. But that's just the tip of the iceberg: these amazing little machines can help fight off the effects of any assault that changes the body, and with careful monitoring of the brain, the mind as well. It is not a perfect system -- the trials for the full system proved quite disappointing -- but as these are now, they would definitely give someone an edge against many "exotic" Metahuman attacks, or a night of drunken revelry. I'd started work on these to try and find a way to restore Fulcrum to her original size, but my target quickly became larger and larger. As they are, they would not help Mona; her "growth" is now as intrinsic to her as the "shrinking" of a songbird. The Wondrous Omnigoggles (TWO) Okay, the name is a bit of a cheat for the acronyms-as-numbers thing, but recent innovations in optics have gotten me to revisit some of my visual enhancement devices. These wraparound goggles contain heat sensors, nightvison, telescopic lenses, UV sensors, and x-ray sensors. Nanocameras along the headband allow the wearer to see all around himself at once. My Electromagnetic Screwdriver can perform all these functions; I used it while Mona used these when we went flying one night, as I showed her different ways to see the world. Theme Recording Emotion Evoker (THREE) Music can move people, as both the Maestro and Fear Master (II) have proven. This is my own take on such technologies, focusing on more subtle aspects of it. A rousing piece can lift the spirits during a battle, but a subtle shift in it can demoralize one's foes. I would of course never use this while Mona is around, and in fact put this in the Restricted Vault when I know she is coming over. Force Utility Rig (FOUR) This device would be quite handy in any mechanics workshop, and I hope to perfect a mass-produceable version someday. The rig consists of a chest harness and two gauntlets, connected by a trio of thick cables. The gauntlets can generate an assortment of tools from the fingers or the whole hand, made of force fields; the system can also generate larger, simpler shapes for use in containing spills or scooping up large things, or a strong protective bubble around the wearer. Also included are knowledge databases with schematics for most mechanical devices, from door hinges to automobiles. The rig contains both voice- and motion-activated controls. A tangential link to Mona: she was at my place the other day and asked if there was anything she could help with (I was working on restoring one of Ace's cars at the time), and I let her try this out. I had to kludge together three of the rigs to fit her, but overall it was a success. Far-range Instant Vitality Enhancer (FIVE) This could more accurately be called the Long-range Instant Vitality Enhancer (and have the more fitting acronym LIVE), but I am working on a theme here. This device looks like a cliched 1950s ray gun, but rather than harming a target, it heals them. The energy produced by the ray gun greatly stimulates the healing processes of most life forms, and it can be adjusted for to fire a weaker wide-range beam in order to heal many people at once. Another indirect link to Mona for this. She makes certain darker parts of my personality quiet down, allowing me to focus on beneficial technologies like this. Shrinker, Industrial, Mark 10/X (SIX) This, the tenth iteration of my Industrial-grade Shrinking devices, can reduce a wearer in size to between one-half and two-thirds their normal height. This device is designed for use in tight spaces where normals-sized adults cannot go, but not so tight or small that they need specially-crafted tools to use in the work they do. The change in size occurs quite rapidly, quickly enough that the momentum from rapid size-shifts can be used offensively. The ninth iteration of the device consisted of a small chestpiece shaped something like a kite shield, a matching back piece, boots, gauntlets, belt, and an open-faced helmet. This version, designed specifically for Mona, consists of a necklace, anklets, bracelets, a belly-chain, and earrings; fashionable (and much more discrete) yet functional. Seismic Event Enervator (SEVEN) Earthquakes are a fact of life... or are they? This, one of the largest devices I've designed, can set up counter-vibrations along a shifting fault line that will counteract the seismic waves. It can even counter most geokinetic Metahuman powers, even those not used to generate earthquakes. Yes, the device can be set to generate seismic waves and start earthquakes, but I put several safeguards in place to make sure that cannot happen. I have had ideas for this in the back of my mind since the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, but Mona's talk of her mother's homeland (Iran, one of the most seismically active countries in the world) got me to start putting my theories into a more practical application. Electrical Insulator/Generator, Homaging Thunder (EIGHT) This full body suit contains millions of tiny clusters of high-capacity batteries, as well as "antenna" that can draw in electrical energy without harm to the wearer. Better yet, the wearer can then use the stored energy for a variety of effects, much like the stalwart leader of the Freedom League, Captain Thunder. It can do more with electrical energy than Thunder can, but it cannot heal the wearer the way Thunder can use electrical energy to heal himself. I made this as part of a series of devices I had created that could mimic (or excel at) the Freedom League's abilities, and showed them off to Mona one evening. Neo-Intellectual Nano-Enhancers (NINE) This device consists of two parts, a system of nanites a headband. The nanites can either be dedicated to this system (and have no function outside of it), or be part of some other nanite enhancement system (such as the ONE System, above). While worn, the headband activates the nanites which cluster in and stimulate assorted regions of the brain. ____ The headband/nanite combo can also send out signals that allow the user to mentally interface/interfere with the functioning of any electronic device within about three meters, allowing for true "hands free" computing. I have had plans for this for some time, for use in case something ever happened to me that stripped me of my enhanced intellect. Part of me wishes to give this to Mona, but hesitates for fear she would be terribly offended. Then again, given her Terminus-altered physiognomy, the nanite components may not work in her. Temporary Enlargement Nanites (TEN) This device consists of nanites that are breathed in by a user, either through an inhaler or concealed in a cigar; they could also be incorporated into the air tanks/filters of a suit of powered armor, or as a tiny bionic implant. The nanites rapidly disperse throughout the body, and cause a marked increase in size; the growth is caused by chemicals carried by the nanites, and their even dispersion and monitoring ensures that the growth goes smoothly and evenly. The increase takes a few seconds to complete, and once done the subject remains at their new size for four hours. Mona's inspiration for this should be obvious. And, yes, there is a bit of male chauvinist ego there, rebelling at the fact she stands almost a meter taller than I.

I have no problem with those powers, though the formatting will need a slight change (bold power names, putting the Device power in a quote box to easily identify what's coming from the device, etc.).
-
Looks to be just 1pp difference. The first set is 30pp (16 for the Device/Coat, 13 for the Electrical Control, 1 for the Immunity), second set is 31 (8 for the Device/Coat, 22 for the Electrical Control, 1 for the Immunity). Can you think of 1pp worth of stuff you could free up now to make room for it?

Dead Head goes OM NOM NOM. Attack (unarmed) vs. the critter DH is inside of; DC 22 Toughness save, 24 if Sneak Attack damage gets added in (1d20+9=29) And he criticals! So that's either a DC 27 or 29 Tougnhess save.

"... wow. I'm both pleased and freaked out by the fact that worked." Dead Head looked around inside the belly of the Rhino-Mole. It was not nearly as spacious as he'd thought it might be -- he could barely move, in fact -- but that's what he got for expecting its interior to be like those absurdly spacious ones seen in assorted sci-fi movies. But, he still had enough room to do what he'd set out to do. "Jes imagine it's a pie-eatin' contest." He was none too thrilled with what he was doing; he didn't expect he'd have enough room to swing his shovel, but he had hoped there'd be enough to swing his arms and claw at the beast. This was one instance he regretted still having his senses of smell or taste. But he was very glad no one could see him right now.

Well, the Doktor isn't always right, so we can still go with your original idea if that's what you want :)

Sorry, I'm not quite following what you're saying.

Containment Means Never Having To Say KABOOM! (OOC)

I really would like to figure out where the 5'10" Archeville comes up to on the 8'2" Fulcrum. I think something like this. -
Containment Means Never Having To Say KABOOM! (IC)
Dr Archeville replied to Dariusprime's topic in Hanover
"Different vorlds, ja," he repeated softly, "but dat could vell mean ve vould compliment von another qvite vell. Each bringing to de ozher a new vay of seeing de vorld." He placed his hands on hers as she adjusted his coat, and looked into her eyes again. That primal something she'd sensed was still there, but very muted now, replaced with compassion and a profound longing. "Ah, now dere I dink ve haff our first disagreement," he said with a slightly playful tone as he floated over to one of the busted workstations and glanced over the components to see what could be salvaged. He never took his eyes off her, though. "Some dings do last forever. De Pyramids, de Great Vall of China... dere are Atlantean artifacts dat are thousands of years old dat look like dey vere forged just yesterday. Und I can name half a dozen Metahumans who are immortal, or nearly so. You could very vell be von of dem, if some of mein theories about your powers und body are right. Und... vell... dere is someding odd going on mit mein aging, because I look und feel about a decade younger dan I should. I do not dink I am an immortal -- dough I vould like to dink ArcheTech shall provide me a form of immortality -- but de few tests I haff run on meinself point to de fair possibility of me celebrating mein 175th birthday. Frustratingly, I do not know vhy dat is." He paused and looked back to Fulcrum, "I haff never told anyvon else dat." He spun around slowly in the air to get a full look at the lab. He let out a long breath, which -- to her surprise -- turned into a chuckle. "You know, I dink dis is de most impressive damage I haff ever seen done to a laboratory! It vill be closed for days. Fortunately, all de measurements und such I got vere stored in de central computer, down in de sub-basement, so none of de data ve collected here vas lost." -
It's official ... Hollywood Insider is reporting that Heroes will not be back next year.

Containment Means Never Having To Say KABOOM! (IC)
Dr Archeville replied to Dariusprime's topic in Hanover
"I vould like dat," he breathed, "in part because doing so vould prove me right on someding. Und I do like to be proven right on dings," he added with a smirk. "Und I do not haff to dink very hard to imagine vhat vould happen," he continued, looking around the trashed laboratory, but still grinning, "vere I to break your trust." "Vhich means," he said as he exercised a Herculean effort of will and pulled himself out of her embrace, "dat ve should take dings slowly, not rush in. After all, ve haff only just met, und vhile dere is an undeniable... someding dere betveen us, dere is still much ve do not know about de other. Vell, much I do not know about you; I can only guess at vhat you found vhen you Googled me. Being as famous -- or infamous -- as I am, I know dere is a lot, not all of vhich is flattering. Or true. The latter dings I try to erase, but..." He forced himself to stop before going off on a tangent. He did make a note to do some Googling of his own, though. He hovered up a few feet, taking her by the hand as he went to help her up from her kneeling position; now she was standing, but he was still eye level with her. "Of course, not all de unflattering stuff is untrue; I do haff mein fair share of faults. More dan a fair share, some vould say." "But... I am now definitely looking forvard to our dinner-date later." -

If she was born in Aug 1992, then in May 2010 (now), she's 17, not 16. Anyway, what age should she have been when the procedure was done?
-
I was about to write "you were two when the procedure was done, so I doubt you'd remember anything from it anyway," but then I took another look at you char sheet. I think your background's timeline needs a bit of work. Ashley was born in August 1992 Diagnosed with problems at age 3 (1995) September 1998 (when she was 6), doctors approached her dad about the problem. "One day," Ash was kidnapped and the procedure done. Presumably, when Ashley was still 6. April 2006, father caught for the experiment done 12 years ago. 12 years before 2006 is 1994; Ashley would have been 1 and 3/4 in April 1994, so that'd be before the symptoms started appearing.

Toughness vs. Gossamer's grapple/squeeze (DC 25) (1d20+11=16) That fails by 9, so he's bruised & Stunned this round! Concentration check to see if his Flight cuts out (DC 15) (1d20+1=19) So he remains in the air. And it's a move action to retract your hair/pull him down, so now he's near her & stunned.
