  1. They're both something of personal enemies for the GoodMad! Doktor, so count him in.
  2. Can haz summary of changes plz?
  3. Carefully lifting the planks, Gossamer found a ramp sloping down to a large chamber under the house, about as big as the living room. From where she was she could not make out much, but what she did see filled her with dread. At the bottom of the ramp was one of the Power Corps members, facing the others and thus away from her. His arms were crossed, and his tapping foot made it clear he was impatient. "How much longer is this gonna take?" In the room were the other three, and Archeville. Two of the Power Corps were monitoring a bank of odd machines, which were connected via long wires to a cap over Archeville's head. Archeville looked very roughed up, with a fresh black eye; his coat lay on the floor a few feet from him. The fourth Corps member was kneeling next to Archeville, but she could not make out what he was doing. "There's a lot to squeeze out of him, it's gonna take time." The Doktor did not appear to be in pain. In fact, he appeared to be in some sort of hypnotic trance; she could make out that his jaw was working, he was speaking, but from her current position could not hear what he was saying. "Time's something we don't have, there's no telling who that girlfriend of his may've called! Someone like this, they may even call in the League!" They appeared mercifully oblivious to Gossamer's presence.
  4. Notice vs. Goss' Stealth (DC 19) (1d20+5=12, 1d20+5=10, 1d20+5=13, 1d20+5=7) A stealthy one is you!
  5. Exxxcellent.... A request: can you make it so it happens within view of a traffic camera or ATM or something with some sort of camera? That's how Doc sees things.
  6. Avenger? Electra?
  7. Dead Head let out a nasally chuckle, "oh, stick around, y'ain't seen nothin' yet! I mean, sure, I'm probably one'a th' strangest folks yer ever likely t'meet, but this world's full'a wonders and weirdness." He turned and looked around the loading dock, and saw assorted empty boxes and pallets there, as well as a few pieces of broken equipment and furniture. An idea crept into his brain. "I'm guessin' he's in th' morgue, which ain't too far from th' loadin' dock, but it's still a bit of a walk. An' some folks get offended by seein' a dead man walkin' 'mongst th' livin', usin' the same buses, usin' th' same doors for th' movie theaters, drinkin' from th' same water fountains..." He paused, realizing his Racial Segregation joke would most likely be completely lost on this extraterrestrial. And what's the point in making a joke if the audience would have to spend hours reading through Wikipedia to even comprehend it? "Point is, I recommend we take that gurney there," he pointed to one leaning against the wall, taken out for repairs to its one missing wheel, "an' use it to wheel me in. Assumin' you can do somethin' with those gloves and helmet. That is, unless ya got some gadget in that suit what'll let us get in and down a few hallways unnoticed."
  8. "Danke," he replied with a slight nod, "dough dat has as much to do mit de 'advertising' I get from de Rhodes Foundation as it does mit mein own business acumen." Archeville walked over to one of the beds and removed his labcoat, laying it neatly across one. "Any problems mit de latest upgrades I installed?" he asked as he sat on another bed, still facing his host. "Is dat one door in the command center still sticking?" (on temporary hiatus)
  9. All the pics here match nicely with what I'd had in mind for my chars. The GoodMad! Doktor is 5'10" and 150 lbs. Dead Head's pegged at 6'2" and 170 lbs. Belphegor's human form is 5'10" and a doughy 180 lbs.; his demonic form is 6'3" and 280 lbs (no pic).
  10. "Competition is all vell und good," he replied while continuing to monitor the readouts, pausing to look up and give Fulcrum a wink, "as long as it does not lead to de replacement of every vindow in a ten-block radius!" "I dink you vill like Der Augenblick," he continued, shifting seamlessly to a different tangent, and his voice getting a touch more cheery. (Some attributed his apparent madness with his ability to think so fast, and thus shift so unnervingly quickly from topic to topic.) He still kept looking back and forth between the readouts from his machine and at Fulcrum and how she was handling it. "It is not all beer und pretzels und sausages, dough dose are some of de main attractions. Dey haff some very good cheese spreads as appetizers, und some excellent seafood dishes, dough dose are seasonal. Oh, und de desserts, of course, are simply vunderbar!" When she said he was a good man, his brow furrowed and he cleared his throat. At first, she may have thought her words made him a bit uncomfortable -- and, in truth, they did -- but his next words revealed another source of unease. "I am getting some very interesting readings here. Some I expected -- part of your apparent super-strength seems to come from your body expelling a gravity-canceling effect, making dings you interact mit lighter in veight -- but you are also emitting other types of energy, some of vhich I haff no idea vhat dey are or can do." Fulcrum was by now straining to stay upright.
  11. Cool, post it coming up however you call, then ask away!
  12. Archeville grabbed the handles of the double doors and flung them open, then marched into the temple. "Ve are here to see de head priestess," he announced as he strode down the aisle. "You haff problems. Ve are here to help."
  13. Die roll, highest one wins? (Tie means the coin lands on-edge!) coin flip (1d20=5) Hrm
  14. "Fortunately," the Doktor said as he began searching his pockets, "I do always carry some spare change mit me." "Ah, here ve go," he said after a moment, producing a bright, shiny quarter. He showed both signs to Thomas, then flipped it. "Call it."
  15. Dead Head's Ritualist Cheat-Sheet Knowledge (arcane lore) at +9. No Quickness. Sample Rituals Assay Health Once this ritual is performed, Dead Head can assess the current medical condition of a single living patient in his presence. He can tell how much damage the patient is suffering, as well as any physical addictions he suffers, any illnesses or diseases with which he is infected, and any genetic defects that afflict him. Super-Senses 4 (acute analytical ranged detect physical condition) [4pp] DC 14, DC 19 & 4 rounds to perform as a thrown-together ritual. Know Death Through this quick ritual, Dead Head can look at a dead body and know what killed it, if that cause isn't already obvious (or its ghost isn't around to tell him). The answer he gets is somewhat generic (the reading would tell him a person had been poisoned, for instance, but not by what poison), but it's conclusive despite the presence of falsified or misleading evidence. Generic causes of death include bleeding (most slashing & piercing damage), burns (fire or electrical), disease, drowning, exposure, heart attack or other organ failure, hunger/thirst, internal trauma (most bludgeoning damage), poison, suffocation, and old age. Super-Senses 2 (acute detect cause of death [mental]) [2pp] DC 12, DC 17 & 2 rounds to perform as a thrown-together ritual. Spirit Mentor Summon up a ghost or spirit -- or even a loa! -- to help with some task. Enhanced Skills 15 (15 ranks in [skill]) [4pp] DC 14, DC 19 & 4 rounds to perform as a thrown-together ritual. Teleportation, Short Range Dead Head's used this ritual (consisting of drawing a veve of and praying to Legba, loa of crossroads) to travel from the Lantern Hill cemetery to any spot within five miles, as long as both his point of departure and point of arrival are covered in enough shadows to completely cover him. The location must be one he can either see clearly or knows particularly well (such as the cemeteries and morgues of Freedom City). He can bring along one or two passengers; they must also be able to fit into the shadows. Teleport 5 (500 feet/5 miles; Flaw: Medium/shadows; PFs: Progression 2/500 lbs.) [7pp] DC 17, DC 22 & 7 rounds to perform as a thrown-together ritual.

  17. In order to make sure the Refs accurately count all your IC posts and award you the due amount of power points, please post with a list of all the threads in which your character posted IC this month (including the News forum). Please also mark things from the Non-Canonical forum as being non-canonical, as those count 1/2 (2 posts made for your char in a non-canon thread count as 1 post for the char). And if you are GMing something, list those threads, too. GM-only posts -- as well as NPC Villain posts -- also count 1/2, and can be assigned to whichever of your characters needs a 'push' to get up in post numbers. When you make your list, please post a link to the IC threads (preferably the first post of the month, though that's not necessary), so we can jump right to it. Help us help you
  18. I'd like Doc to be in on this, even if it is just the "They took my stuff! Again!" cameo.
  19. Any edits you want to make to your last post, given what you now know? Or are you okay with it as-is?
  20. The place was a shambles, though it had not exactly been in pristine condition when you three had arrived. What spares furniture there was had been moved to block the windows and doors, but those were now all broken. The place had been a crack house, one of many in the Fens. All of you had seen these types of places, though Grim was particularly familiar with the type. The first piece of furniture that had been taken to bar the entries was a large table which had held assorted drug-making paraphernalia (which now lay strewn about and smashed on the floor; when Colt had taken that table, that's when the drug peddler's drug-taxed heart gave out and he collapsed. An examination of the drug peddler's wares would reveal it was two drugs, a liquid in dozens of small syringes (some adorned with a red bull, some with a red bear), and a gray powder in small snuff boxes. Grimalkin knew these were Max (a steroid used by adrenaline junkies and eXtreme sports figures) and Zombie Powder (which gave a preternatural sense of calm, but was also rumored to raise you as a zombie if you died while under its effects). Jack's energy senses picked up faint traces of necromantic magic in the powder, the same type he'd sense in the zombies. Colt's found that one of the snuff boxes was slightly heavier than the others. Tentatively opening it, he found it to be filled with a gray sludge instead of the fine gray powder. No one had yet to touch, much less search, the dozens of dead bodies strewn about the place. Bitingly cold winds blew through the open door and smashed windows.
  21. I understand that limit, sure; what I question is if it's really needed. Is there more than 20ep worth of additional stuff not already listed you'd see him regularly needing? Or why not trade in those 20ep for 4 more ranks in Luck, to extra effort anything you don't already have? Or why not jut have all his Equipment (except the vehicle and the HQ) as Gadgets? (On the other hand, perhaps I am worrying too much. You did already get two other Refs to approve him, after all.)
  22. Gadgets via Equipment points?
  23. Sorry I missed you in chat last night. To answer your question, yes, I would like another Stealth check if Goss is attempting to life those floorboards stealthily. Gimme another Notice check while you're at it, too.
  24. In less than six seconds, actually. Its head asplodes. You're now free to do... whatever. If you're looking for stuff, gimme some Notice and/or Search checks.
  25. (23:31:36) AvengerAssembled: Also, you should give her [Sarah Prescott] a supername. I suggest Swordstab! Fistblade! Knifey-spoony! (23:32:11) Gizmo: Jack has 'Blade' and all its variations trademarked. (23:32:51) AvengerAssembled: The Cutter! Ooh, but then you get sued. (23:33:14) Gizmo: Just call him Jack of all Savvy Brand Positioning. (23:33:28) AvengerAssembled: Sounds like he's a sharp businessman. (23:33:40) Gizmo: Ho ho! (23:33:49) Taar: What you did there? I saw it. (23:34:04) Gizmo: I think he made his point. (23:34:24) Taar: It was certainly a cutting remark. (23:34:38) Gizmo: The clear product of rapier wit. (23:35:05) Taar: Very edgey (23:35:06) AvengerAssembled: Touche! (23:35:58) Gizmo: Eh, I'm on the fence with that last pun. (23:36:24) AvengerAssembled: I guess you foiled me, then (23:36:38) Electra: I'm going to kill you all. (23:36:40) Gizmo: You really played that to the hilt. (23:36:49) Electra is not mean, just violent. (23:36:58) AvengerAssembled: It's true
