That actually works out perfectly nicely... but the books I need aren't on my comp at work, so I'll have to postpone an IC post. Spoiler, though: before finding Doc & the Power Corps, she finds someone else, doing something rather criminal ;)

Or off Doc -- he's occasionally claimed his enhanced mind is due to psionic energy. (It's really pseudonatural magical enhancement, so instead of a Psylocke-esque mindblade, JoAB'd get a writhing tentacle-blade!)

Gravity sword? (Or would that manifest more as a warhammer? )

Containment Means Never Having To Say KABOOM! (IC)
Dr Archeville replied to Dariusprime's topic in Hanover
Archeville's right hand went to his chin and began to tap it with his index finger as Fulcrum explained what she saw at Omega & Centurion's battle. When she described the cape, his finger tapping stopped. "Vell dat does fit mit mein hypothesis," he began. "I do hope your records include some genetic workups from before your treatments began, to see if de exposure altered some pre-existing proclivity tovards energy manipulation powers or if de combination of de chemotherapy treatments und Terminus exposure instilled an all-new set of powers mitin you." "As for de cape," he continued, resuming work on whatever it was he was working on, "I am not sure it is Centurion's -- as far as I am avare, he vas buried mit de cape he vore vhen he vas killed. It is possible dat is not de case, dat he vas buried in a different cape, und dat dat is de von he vore. I could run some tests, try und determine de age of it, und try to find traces of anyding dat he vas known to be exposed to in order to prove dat de cape is von he vore... but dat is up to you. It could be, as you said, a psychological ding, as your resurrection und improved health indicate to me dat your powers vere already manifesting years before you found de cape... or, perhaps de cape is a catalyst to further physiological changes, dat your body is altering to mimic Centurion's based on trace of his DNA or of de particular energies dat infused his body embedded in de cape." -
Seems fitting: Jester's a lot more high-strung than Atlas, Malice, or Tempest. With Doc's Mental Quickness 6 (x100), he can Take 20 on a Notice check, and it'll take him (1 minute / 100 = 0.6 seconds). So that's a 30. Initiative (1d20+1=16)

And here's Doc! (with 4 HPs)

Doktor Archeville had been, as usual, working in his laboratory (on a new type of optical tweezer), when he'd taken a short break to grab a snack. In his right hand had been a plate of currywurst (grilled bratwurst with a curry-ketchup sauce), and in his left a Doppel bock lager. But they were gone now. The Doktor loeked around, taking a quick assessment. "Dar Star, Jack of All Blades, Jester, Colt, und Grimalkin. Vell, dere are vorse people I could be here mit-" The shriek cut him short, and he leaped up to fly over the others to see what it was... and promptly crashed back down, forgetting that his gravimetric belt was hanging in its charging station, as was his electromagnetic screwdriver. Even his armored labcoat was absent; he'd thrown it in the washer after one of the lab boys at ArcheTech had bumped into him and spilled something fluorescent green and sticky on him. But a lack of equipment would not stop a true hero or man of Science! "It could be vorse, Herr Colt," he said as he ran by, "at least ve appeared here together, not scattered about!"

Search checks, actually, since that's what's used for finding tracks. Do well, you'll lock onto him. Do not so well, you get sidetracked by something else. Do really not well, you lose the trail/lose progress. Give me... oh, let's say, five checks to start off.

The three stood before Gossamer, clustered around the device which Barry handed over. "More like a Geiger counter," Barry began, "though the display-" "which I made to overlay on a Google street map... view... of..." Rudy interrupted, then trailed off when he saw Gossamer take a particularly long stretch. "will point you towards any spot that have both Daka crystal radiation and gravimetric fluxes. There's not may devices in the city which'd have both-" "And Archeville's would be by far the most potent," Norm chimed in. "so it should lead you straight to him... unless you happen to get close to one of those few other such devices, in which case you might get sidetracked."

Anything more for this?

Containment Means Never Having To Say KABOOM! (IC)
Dr Archeville replied to Dariusprime's topic in Hanover
Archeville leans forward and stares at her intently during some parts of Fulcrum's history, but in others he leans back and has a far more casual air about him. After her display with the components, he seemed genuinely surprised. "Vell," he began, "dough Freedom City is de vorld center for metahuman activity, und de site of two Terminus invasions, I do not recall anyding particularly notevorthy occurring in 1980 dat vould tie to your abilities. Metahumans who generate Terminus radiation tend to be vons who vere conceived or born during von of de two invasions, in 1993 or 1965. But you vould haff been a young teen during de second invasion...." He paused for half a moment, then began again, slightly softer. "Could puberty be de key?," he said, more a thinking out loud than a real declaration, "Terminus energies altering any energy manipulation abilities you vould have expressed normally? Or de leukemia treatments...." His eyes met hers again, and his voice took on a more pronounced, commanding tone. "Did any of your leukemia treatments occur during de Terminus invasion of '93? De chemotherapy drugs in your system may be a factor... copies of your medical records vould be of some help, if you can get dem." His voice and mood shifted again, to the more relaxed, casual conversation one. "Powers first manifested in 2006, eh? Do you recall de circumstances? Vhat vere you doing vhen you discovered you could fly or had superhuman strength? Or grow? Vas dat a sudden und permanent growth spurt, or a gradual ding?" -

Trying to spend tonight catching up, actually. ;) -
I almost feel sorry for Heyzel. Almost.
-
I also see nothing egregiously wrong with them.

"Even mit mein advanced techniques," Archeville replied while leaning on one of the workstations, "it vill take some time before I get even a preliminary read on everyding. I vill run de tests meinself, of course, to maintain your secrecy; I do not mind burning de midnight oil. I should be able to call you mit preliminary results... tomorrow around noon?"

She heard the trio arriving before seeing them, the tires of their own "customized" ASTRO Labs van squealing in protest as they rounded a corner several mph too fast. They pulled to an abrupt stop in the parking lot, one leaping out before it had come to a complete halt. "Wow-ee!" he said as he looked over her evening's outfit, or what was left of it, anyway. "Bet you tuned a lot of heads in that!" "She'd turn heads no matter what she-" another thought out loud as he climbed out of the back with what looked like a large garment bag. When he saw she was right there, he made an audible GULP. "Yes, yes," Barry intervened, snatching the garment bag as he spoke, "but I'm sure she'd prefer to slip out of those clothes and into something more... defensive." The suit was definitely an earlier model, not nearly as well-cut, and the thighs, back, and upper arms had some noticeable heat, like ane electric blanket set on low. But it'd do the job, and that's all that really mattered. "We were able to rig an energy detector," Barry began as he held up what looked like an iPod Touch, "set to-" "to track Daka crystal radiation, and-" "gravimetric fluxes, since Daka crystals are in a lot of 'super-tech' so just going by that may not be precise enough. But the gravimetric flux detector can pick up any fluctuations-" "Which there wouldn't be unless he's able to do anything with his Gravimetric Belt, but that's require him to be conscious and able to access it. Which he's probably not able to do, so-" "I'm sure he has some failsafe to send out a signal in case he's ever knocked out, like that time on Babylon 5 when-" "Guys! Please!"

"Need any help, Ace?," Archeville asked while massaging his left temple. "Two checkbooks are better dan von, und I can probably figure out how to write dis off as a charitable donation. I can haff some men in to do de repair vork, too."

Dead Head felt that much of the phenomenal necrotic energies had ebbed from him, but not all. He could still keep this power, if he just reached up and put his hand around Taylor's wrist and pulled her away, breaking the circuit... or, better yet, around her neck, and tore out her dainty little throat. Then he could remind Avenger of how much pain life entailed by throttling him. Atlas would be trickier, but he is large, which means he had large guts to rip and tear and- NO! He would not be an instrument of Samedi's vile will!
