  3. In order to make sure the Refs accurately count all your IC posts and award you the due amount of power points, please post with a list of all the threads in which your character posted IC this month (including the News forum). Please also mark things from the Non-Canonical forum as being non-canonical, as those count 1/2 (2 posts made for your char in a non-canon thread count as 1 post for the char). And if you are GMing something, list those threads, too. GM-only posts -- as well as NPC Villain posts -- also count 1/2, and can be assigned to whichever of your characters needs a 'push' to get up in post numbers. When you make your list, please post a link to the IC threads (preferably the first post of the month, though that's not necessary), so we can jump right to it. Help us help you
  4. 30 hours left to get 'em in!
  5. "And me without a bic to flick," Dead Head joked, even as he took his shovel up into a fighting position. Might as well tell her my suspicions, he thought. "I think I've tussled with these things before, actually," he said, in a tone that seemed partially confessional. "See, Baron Samedi don't like takin' 'NO!' for an answer...."
  6. "Now," he began, waving his Electromagnetic Screwdriver at the image like a laser pointer, "I said dis vas a 3D holographic image, but it is really qvite more complex dan dat. But... vell, I shall just show you, since dat is vhat you cam here for. So, first, ve peel avay dese outer layers...." The holo-Taylor's clothing suddenly dissolved, as did her skin, revealing her slim musculature under and interwoven with a network of veins. It moved, going through the same motions the real Taylor had made during the short time she was in the box. "Hrm, de blood vessels seem a touch distended... but dat is to be expected, given your elevated blood pressure. Und going down a bit further..." Invisible blades flayed the holo-Taylor's musculature away, revealing a skeleton with numerous organs in its ribcage, and unblinking eyes staring out from the sockets. Again it repeated the motions Taylor had made while in the box. "... everyding looks normal here... no signs of parasites or such... now, to check de uterus...." The pelvic bone and bladder on the Holo-Taylor floated away, then the uterus behind moved down and out of the body and grew to triple normal size. The walls of it peeled away like a flower, revealing a 14 week old fetus. Archeville seemed truly shocked. "Vell... I suppose congratulations are in order."
  7. Atlas saw a look of sheer rage take over Archeville's features, one he had glimpsed in reflective surfaces during the heat of battle far too many times; his facial coloration was even starting to match his own. But, just when he thought the Doktor was going to unleash his own string of German curses, he instead... burst into laughter? "I haff often vondered," he choked out, "vhich vould break first: some componeent of de machinery, or de floor covering it!" The Doktor walked -- stumbled, really, still laughing -- over to Atlas, and placed a hand on him, (though whether it was to reassure him, or to hold himself up, Atlas wasn't completely certain). "Und as for... for radiation, do not v-vorry about dat -- if you vere... vere radiaoctiff, mein scans vould haff p-picked up on it looong before now!" He paused to wipe some tears from his eyes, "Ohhhh my... dis is a mess. Ah, but, not to vorry, dis is vhy I haff robots!" Sure enough, an assortment of small robots -- each about the size of a dog or cat, mostly insectile in shape, though one looked more squid-y -- were already on the scene, hauling off pieces and putting up small flashing beacons around the perimeter of the hole.
  8. [Dead Head] You kids get off my lawn! [/Dead Head]
  9. I know what I would like to do: use his knowledge of anatomy/surgery to attack key stitches on the flesh golem with the laser setting of his Electromagnetic Screwdriver. Effect? I'd think either Drain Dex, or Paralyze (or maybe just Paralze/Slow), or maybe even Drain Toughness (as her skin starts becoming loose). I'm also unsure if that's something that should just be bought via the pps in his Gadget, or as an AP of his Pseudonatural Brain.
  10. Sorry, some RL issues have been dragging me away from here lately.
  11. Prisoner can't play Dungeons A friend's reply:
  12. I saw what happened with Deadman (Boston Brand's body was animated, but the Deadman spirit is still active), but hadn't heard what happened with Grundy (though I had seen the miniseries that was saying "Grundy must not get one of these!"). What happened? The reaction of a Black Lantern ring on Dead Head would be odd, I'd think, since it appears the Black Rings don't really reanimate the dead, they just reanimate the body, and create a mind/personality for it based on trace memories it reads off the body; the mind/spirit isn't really there, it's still... wherever it went. It might eject Dead Head's spirit from his body (and make him a Deadman-like ghost), or he might appear to develop a Jekyll and Hyde personality. And now, as a tangent, an Oath I made for wearer's of a different type of Black Ring: In foulest day, in sweetest night, beware the serpents coiled so tight. Let those who try to stop our might, burn like his power... The Great Set's might!
  13. Capital idea, Gizmo! Belphegor would be all over an Orange ring (though Red would follow close behind). And he'd use it the same way Larfleeze does: to eat people, and then recreate them as slaves to/extensions of his will. Dead Head would not get a Black Ring; those guy are all jerks. He'd be torn between Yellow and Indigo; he'd use either to create images of the dead. Doktor Archeville... ... is hard to pin down.
  14. And now there's a Thunder Cannon to go along with Durf's Lightning Gun.
  15. Rather than go with Boost, I'd suggest going with plain old Enhanced Traits/Powers, with the Flaw "Limited to a rank proportionate to the number of people controlled." Rank 1 is available with 1 person under control, rank 2 with 2 people, rank 3 with 3-5 people, rank 4 with 6-10 people, rank 5 with 11-25 people, rank 6 with 26-50 people, rank 7 with 51-100 people, rank 8 with 101-250 people, rank 9 with 251-500 people under control, rank 10 with 501-1,000 people under control, and so on. You could even take some powers twice, once without the above flaw (to represent the suit at its base operating level) and one for use when he's got folks under his spell.
  16. Kinky....
  17. So... just what is in there?
  18. Seems to be winding down. Anything more to post here?
  19. I'm gonna wait for the others to weigh in before saying anything; you might not need my vote.
  20. Samael could see that Archeville was thoroughly engrossed by and excited about the readings the tentacle-cameras were providing. "Ja, ja, I got it all! Oh, have I got it! HA! But... " A perplexed look fell over the Doktor's face, and he appeared to be getting more agitated, "vait... if dat is... den dat vould... no, no, dat cannot be... oh, but if it is, den... ja, ja, dat vould make sense... HA!" Archeville clapped his hands together suddenly, "Oh, Samael -- I dink de readings I can get off of you are going to be qvite useful in my research into de nature of metahuman powers! It appears dat, vhen you change, your body undergoes a sort of.... 'reverse nuclear reaction,' absorbing energy und transmuting it into excess mass; I vould surmise dat de reverse happens vhen you change back, converting de excess mass into energy und dispersing it to de environment. Of course, dis leads to more qvestions -- vhere is all dat energy coming from, und going to? Mein scanners detected some minor fluctuations in de local EM fields, but nothing on de magnitude your transmogrification vould suggest." "Oh, vhat fun dis vill be!," Archeville was giddy as a schoolgirl... and that was kinda disturbing. "Ahem... yes, vell... time for all dat later," he said, regaining his composure. "You did say you vould not be able to stay late tonight, so let us do von more test -- more veightlifing, in your fully powered alternate form -- und den ve can call it a day. Anytime you are ready..." Atlas barely felt any weight at all as he lifted the bar. Not even when Archeville had cranked the power all the way up, and the magnetic machinery under the floor tore itself out and stuck to the ends of the bar.
  21. Is this still going? Because a certain Doktor may call in a request.... ;)
  22. Do Not Taunt Happy Fun Doc
  23. Congrabulations!
  24. Technobabble time! I'm thinking Doc's scanners could work out "how" Atlas changes. The question is: how does he change? I'm thinking that, like most size-shifters in comics, he draws mass in from/shunts it out to some extradimensional space. Or, his body absorbs ambient energy and converts it into mass (like what Mr. Nobody does). In either case, the extra mass/matter is either in the form of new cells, or is in the form of something his existing cells eat/absorb that triggers some ultra-rapid multiplication & growth. Or, he gulps in air like a pufferfish to swell up ;)
