  10. What I have here is a bit of a conundrum. I was on the fence about what seeing Spitfire's fiery antics would do to Dead Head -- he lost all his friends in a big fire, but he's mostly come to terms with that. But seeing Spitfire explode, near a large crowd, in pretty much exactly the same way the Burning Man who re-killed all his friends did... well, that would definitely set off some PTSD for the Revoltin' Revenant. The question is, how will that manifest? Involuntarily switching on his Fearsome Presence? Unknowingly animating the chicken carcasses at the nearby grills? Falling to pieces (literally)? Or something else?!

"But all dese are dings I vould fully expect in a Metahuman such as yourself," Archeville said, that childish grin spreading once more over his face. "But here are some more interesting dings. Remember vhen I mentioned de cingulate cortex, how it deals mit pain perception? Vell, dere are some... unusual connections between it und your prefrontal cortex -- de part dat handles complex cognitive behaviors, personality expression, decision making und moderating correct social behavior. It vould seem dat -- und I do say dis under de understanding dat dese are all preliminary scans, so dere is probably much I am missing -- seem dat your brain is vired such dat showing certain types of social behavior, or even thinking certain thoughts, vould be mildly physically uncomfortable to you!"

A young man was running down an alley, panicked, fearing not just for his life but for his very soul. He had good reason to. "Why you be runnin' form me, Jacques?" a voice oozed form the darkness. "Why you t'ink you can be runnin' from me?" The youth stumbled, lost his balance, and toppled over. When hooked up, the one he was running from was looming above him. "I know what you do, Jacques. Try an' play both sides o' de game -- which, normally, would be provin' me right. But it's me you try an' double-cross... an' dat! Don'! Work!" The last three words were punctuated by a trio of powerful kicks to the youth's side, which sent him flying several feet away. Jacques, barely conscious, looked up and saw two of his friends flanking his former boss. For the briefest moment, hope fluttered in his heart: they were here to rescue him, to distract his attacker long enough for him to- "So now I's gonna have t'set an example of you... just like I do to Tibbs an' Boo here." The last thing Jacques remembered seeing were Tibbs' and Boo's slowly shambling towards him, and reaching for him with cold, dry hands. Epilogue, Part 3 In yet another part of Freedom.... "Sir, the latest report from field ops are in," a strong and confident female voice echoed through a cavernous office. "Nearly a ton of 'XXVI' was confiscated in the last raids, along with three 'technicians' who made it." "And the 'Lost Lambs'? What of them?" a powerful voice echoed back. "Some progress, of a sort, sir," the woman replied, her voice quavering just a hair. "Two from the Main Lot have been captured by others, and are being held in custody now. But there is good reason to expect the 'Lead Goat' to break them out." "Hrm... make sure they do not escape before that happens." The woman nodded, then sharply turned and walked out. "Soon, my Dark Lord," the voice echoed, "soon...." ~fin~

  23. Oh noes! Something else! Both Avenger & Dead Head's Impervious Toughness is ineffective vs. blessed, silver, or magical attacks. (They still have their full Toughness against those attacks, it's just not Impervious.) Do demon claws/fangs/stingers/spines/etc. count as magical?
