Yeah, Grim's sense of smell pics up some really funky stuff comin' off him once he reveals himself.... EDIT: Gonna be hard for Breakdown to hide behind the person who's fleeing in terror!

*uses Mighty Admin Powers to edit the link* EDIT: Be aware that, due to changes in House Rules since you've been gone, you may need to edit your character.

Do it! Do it now!

It seems Invisible Castle's been giving lots of poor rolls lately. Doc's initiative = 4

"Needles only in de arm," Archeville repeated, "dat is fine. I vould also like some hair und fingernail samples, vhich will do no harm to you, und some skin samples. A swab from inside your cheek should do," he quickly added, lest Atlas think he meant to try and cut off a pound of flesh. "Not too late, dat is acceptable, too... if you vill come back later for more tests. Und sandviches. As for transportation back home, I vill be glad to arrange someding for you. But... vhat do you mean by 've don't haff much time'? Do you haff a hot date?" he asked, smirking.

1 HP left Move action to teleport next to White Knight. Free Action to de-cloak, switching to regular force field. Extra Effort to surge to gain another move action. Spend last HP to nix fatigue. Full round action to coup de grace, with Mad Maple's Winter Wand (Blast 10). Since he's helpless due to the Snare, no attack roll is needed. DC 25 Toughness (and since WK's suffering from 2 bruises already, he's at -2 on the save), and if he's still up from that, DC 20 Fortitude or be KO'd. And if he's stunned or worse -- and I really hope he is! -- knockback pushes him back (effective Blast 15 & WK's Knockback -6 = 9 = ) 500 feet out the window! (Would that be far enough to be off the island and in the ocean? Who knows!) (Yes, the Gadgets-enhanced Blast from the Super-MAX Armor is a rank higher, but using the Winter Wand seems more fitting. )

In a flash, Archeville appeared before the bound & helpless White Knight. He held one gauntleted arm up -- the one with Mad Maple's Winter Wand incorporated into it. "Go! To! ----------!" Archevile's last word was cut off by the sound of the Winter Wand being fired.

Durf, I think we're waiting on you for answers: reactions to Big Russian Man, what Phantom "sees", how the homeless amputees react to Big Scary Hockey Masked Man.

Dead Head was clutching his head in skull-splitting agony. The dead had been screaming at him for hours, which was a familiar enough experience. But now the echoes of those who had not yet died -- but would soon -- were clawing inside his skull. He knew a few who might be able to help him, but had no way to contact them. He owned nothing but the clothes on his back, and the shovel strapped to it; even if he had a cell phone he'd have no way to charge it. But he had set up some meet-up points with Avenger last month, after their tussle with some necromancers, and headed there. Oddly -- yet, somehow, not unexpectedly -- the few people Dead Head saw as he stumbled down in the streets bolted from him as soon as he got near, even if he stuck to the shadows and made sure they didn't see him. It was as if they could sense his aura of undeath, an aura that was swelling.... Luckily, Dead Head did not have to wait long at the meet-up spot for Avenger to show. "Wha... what's going on, man? The dead... the dead are screaming!"

Tentative stats for ArcheTech: * from Agents of Freedom. The Animals Pens feature provides pens to hold animals; Handle Animals checks on animals held in these pens gain a +2 bonus, and Ride checks a +1 bonus. The Think-Tank feature provides a team of specialists who’ll go over data, discuss it, and come up with new theories; working with them grants a +2 bonus on Gather Information, Investigate, or Knowledge checks to answer a particular question. ** from Books of Magic. The Personnel feature provides an HQ with staff commensurate with its size and facilities. They serve and defend the HQ, not the character.

Like most corporations, all ArcheTech facilities shared certain things in common. All were pyramid shaped (though with flat, not pointed, tops), grayish-white, and 12 stories tall, though some detractors said the darker coloration of the glass in the windows in the center and of some doors at the bottom made the buildings look more like giant stylized As. Many of the windows doubled as solar panels, to supplement the power drawn from the local power grids, though many also had their own generators (the type depending on location). The ArcheTech corporate headquarters were packed with laboratories and think-tanks, including dormitories for participants in lengthy studies (or for Metahumans lacking control over their powers who needed someplace safe to stay), but also had enough storage space to double as rescue shelters in times of crisis, and helipads on the roof for emergency transport. Each facility also had a bulk transporter near the basement storage facilities, capable of nearly instantly teleporting several tons of material at a time, but only to other ArcheTech facilities (including Schloss Wissenschaft, Archeville's castle in Germany, and ArcheStern, ArcheTech's orbital research station). In addition to the researcher on the premises, each also had armed security guards, mostly hired from local security firms. But now the Freedom City ArcheTech building was changing, its gray-white sides darkening to black, and the streetlights outside twisting into weird obelisks as lightning lanced across the red skies overhead. "Security!" Archeville's voice boomed over the guard's comm channels, "vhat is going on out dere?!" From his 12th floor office he had a spectacular view of the changes being wrought upon the city, and even from here could hear some of the chaos below... and in his own building. "S-Sir, I... I don't..." a voice stammered over the comm. "Get a hold of yourself, man! Vhat is going on out dere!" Silence came across the channel. The guard's radio was not off, it was just... quiet. The Doktor grunted in irritation as he rose from his desk and marched out into the hall, fishing out his Electromagnetic Screwdriver from his labcoat pocket. He configured it so it could tap into the buildings communications system, allowing him to talk to everyone as he walked down the halls. "Attention, attention! Dis is Doktor Archeville. Something... bizarre is happening outside, und I fear it may be starting to affect people inside. I vant you to evacuate immediately to de teleporter in de basement, und prepare for transport out of state. I shall meet you dere." He finished speaking as he reached the elevator, and got on.

I'm (already) confused -- are we in the Invasion! - Riverside thread, or the Invasion! - Riverside: Gate thread? Phantom appears to be in both. (Also, Dead Head has no cell phone, nor a place to charge it if he was given one. But he could've set up some places to rendezvous in case things go sideways.)
-
I also vote for the former.

IC seems to be working again!

Almost half the heroes here have Fearless*, a 1pp feat that completely negates Fearsome Presence. He's gotta use it when he can! * including Breakdown, when in Rock form
-
Dead Head's Fearsome Presence 10 is now in play. DC 20 Will save. Fail, you're shaken by the hideous undead. Fail by 5 or more, you flee from the hideous undead. Fail by 10 or more and you panic, dropping everything as you flee from the hideous undead.

"Weeellllll...," the gravelly Southern voice drawled, "if you insist...." A shuffling sound was heard, and the faint green glow grew in intensity, though it never truly became bright. At first you could make out a humanoid figure, tall, a bit on the lanky side, swaying a bit as it walked forward. The green glow came from something near the figure's head... a lantern? A chemical glow-stick around its neck? No, it was its eyes, glowing like tiny green stars! The figure continued forward, dragging its feet. The light from its eyes momentarily obscured its face, so until your eyes adjusted you could only focus on the rest of it. Whoever or whatever it was, it was dressed like a biker -- worn black boots, torn blue jeans, a torn white t-shirt, and a well-worn leather jacket. In addition to their old and worn condition, all were also dirty, mostly with dirt but here and there with... other stains. Its silhouette indicated something was strapped to its back -- a shotgun? No, too thin. A sword? No, the handle didn't match. Now your eyes had adjusted to the light from its eyes, and you could make out its face... and you wish you hadn't. A tiny upturned nose peeked out from under its sunken eyes, and its mouth was pulled open into a hideous rictus grin, exposing yellowed teeth set in blue-black gums. A purplish tongue sporadically flopped out, causing droll to dribble down the front of it shirt. The whole head was framed in a wild mass of gray-white hair, like a ghostly shroud clinging to it. And... were those maggots crawling on its shoulders? "So, y'all plannin' to use yer brains to track these bloodsuckers?" [ Be sure to check the OOC thread ]

"You-" Archeville began, then paused. "I-" he started again, then stopped. He stood up suddenly, walked over to the door, placed his hand on the handle... but did not open it. Archeville turned around and walked back to his chair, placing his hands on the back of it and rocking back and forth on his heels. "Your words are distressingly familiar, spoken by those who found it easier to destroy than to build. Several dozen of their propaganda films just played in my mind. These people ended... poorly. I would prefer to not see that happen to you."
-
"Hold it... just need to find a-" Archeville was about to say "vein" when the tip of the needle from the Electromagnetic Screwdriver touched the gremlin's skin, allowing the gremlin's power to course through the wondrous gadget with full effect. In a flash the wondrous wand-like widget was a smoking pile of metal scraps, cracked lenses, fused crystals and melted plastics! A string of German expletives flowed from Archeville's lips as he shot straight up in the air towards the mall skylight, far from the gremlin in Atlas' hands.
-
"Fascinating!," Archeville said between bites. "Mit transmogrifications such as yours, dere is usually a loss of something, but you..." Archeville set his half-eaten sandwich down, and looked Samael straight in the eye, "Dis may be an odd qvestion, but... vould you mind -- after ve haff eaten, of course -- if I ran some scans und tests on you? It could be beneficial to you," he quickly added, "as I have exercise ekvipment you vill not find in any ordinary gymnasium!"

By the way, this is your cue to tell me -- a Ref -- what sorts of adventures you'd like to see for the Interceptors. Heritage has already taken the bait! Who's next?

Am I the only one who finds the image of Atlas playing cards hilarious? Hunched over a table, looking at cards that're barely as big as the first joint of his fingers. (Yeah, yeah, I know he's not playing in his Atlas form.....)
