"Well, if y'all insist on having labels and all that," Dead Head said, his voice dripping with faked indignation as he strode forward, "then, yeah, I suppose I could be called an abomination. For several reasons." Dead Head moved more into the light, and the first thing most if not all of you notice is his face. It is, to put it mildly, horrible: pale and leathery, with sunk-in eyes -- which glowed with an eerie green flame -- over an unusually small nose. Beneath that was a mouth seemingly frozen into a twisted smile, lips pulled back tight to reveal yellowed teeth set in blue-black gums. He had long, ghostly white hair that flew free in the breeze. When the Elemental said it was "non-life," a more common term would be undead, because he sure looked like one. That, or it was a really good makeup job. The second thing to register was its clothing: it was dressed like a biker, boots, jeans, t-shirt, and leather jacket, all very worn. "One," it began, holding up one index finger, "I'm one of th' Living Impaired. I ain't dead... but I ain't alive, either. Two, " he continued as his middle finger went up, "I do not -- I repeat, do not -- crave brains, or blood, or anything else. Three- oh!" Its ring finger would have gone up next, but there was nothing but a stub there. The undead biker began searching its pockets, and after a few moments drew forth its missing digit. "Ah, that was a close one!," it said as it reattached its finger. "Now, where was I? Oh, right: three -- I got over the whole angsty, grim, brooding monster thing years ago, and now I focus on helping folks."

Corrosion has Affects Objects in it already. Corrosion is Drain Toughness (Extra: Affects Objects) + Linked Strike. Devices have a Toughness of 10 + Rank, so I guess his Gadget would, too. Gadget 1 = Toughness 11. Since we've house ruled that Constructs get a Reflex save to resist Fortitude save effect with the Affects Objects extra, can Doc get a Reflex save to fight off the Drain Toughness part of the Corrosion (jerking it away as he just sees something nasty happen)? If so, Doc has... 21, so the Drain part doesn't work. Toughness save vs. the DC 23 Damage part of Corrosion is... 15, which fails by 8. That's an "injury," and an “injured” object is damaged and suffers the normal –1 penalty per condition further Toughness saves. So it's Toughness is now effectively +10.

You can use von for your heroic identity und von for your 'civilian' von, or simply use von of de rooms for storage, a study lounge, personal office, vhatever. All de equipment here is yours to use, as you see fit, dough as Vince said I vould advise against tampering mit de power core in de south ving. Speaking of de equipment, I should make a bit of a confession..." Camera pans to Vince, now dressed as a Catholic priest. At first, he looks somber, but then gets a shocked, wide-eyed look. Camera pans back to Archeville. Archeville does a double-take, then resumes. "Some of de equipment you vill be using is in de Beta testing phase. Specifically, you are de Beta testers for mein inventions. Including Vince here." Camera pans to Vince, now standing on a plain white set and wearing a simple gray jumpsuit and an innocent, boyish grin. Across the front of the jumpsuit, in bright blue letters, is Vth (Fith) Iteration Networked Computer Entity Camera pans back to Archeville, "now, as for 'taking it to de next level'... vell, de Freedom League vere not alvays 'big boys,' de all started in de same place you are, von good deed at a time. I am confident dat you can all reach dat level, if you so choose. All dis, dis is me giving you a bit of a boost."

"No, thank you, sir! So, how've you been?" "Oh, busy as alvays, Vince," he said, taking a sip from the coffee cup next to him. "Experiments, research, building mein own company...." Archeville then turned and looked directly towards the camera, towards the seven assembled heroes. The camera zoomed in some, so Archeville's head took up most of the screen. "... und setting dis all up for you. Ja, you heard right -- I set all dis up, to help you do vhat you haff already been doing. You all haff done -- or haff de potential to do -- great good for de city, und I vish to help you do dat. You haff been doing a fair job thus far, so I shall not be ordering you vhere to go, telling you vhat to do or how to do it... for de most part. Atlas & Dr. Archeville "Hold it steady, please," the Doktor said as he gave a quick visual examination of the gremlin in Atlas's hands, "vhile I run a few scans." Archeville adjusted his Electromagnetic Screwdriver until it turned into something that looked like a small telescope, which he held up to one eye. The scanner was a type of x-ray viewer, able to peel back layers to look at musculature, circulatory systems, organs, and skeletal structure. "Innnteresting... a remarkably basic system of organs... solid bone structure... oh, now dat is something... some very interesting structures in de brain... but I see no 'self destruct' systems, nothing to explain vhy dey 'pop' vhen met mit sufficient force. I vill need something more." He removed the scanner from his eye and adjusted it again; at one point a long needle sprouted from one end. "Continue to hold it steady, please, vhile I retrieve a blood sample."
