  1. Technically, that's require either the Minion or Sidekick feat... which y'all could chip in on... and it's not like Vince would be that costly; he'd be an immobile Construct, you'd just need to pay for mental ability scores, skills & feats. *starts brainstorming*
  2. ... quiet, you. *edits* All this is underground, but there are still rooms and such upstairs in the brownstones proper. Unless y'all wanted something different. I'm flexible :)
  3. ... bah! The Defense System feature is both.
  4. *lays some more exposition on you*
  5. As soon as the last one in gets about halfway down the spiraling stairs, Vince speaks again. "Good, good -- not afraid of a little mystery, a little excitement!" The source of the lights seen from the living room above was a soft glow coming from more computer and surveillance equipment lining the walls of a large hexagonal room. Six long hallways radiated off the room; the hallways themselves seemed to glow softly. "This here's the command and control room, or C&C. From here you can see almost anywhere in Freedom City..." Several monitors began showing various areas of Freedom City, and then switched to Vince in his talk show set. "... and I can use it to communicate with you! Isn't that neat! Oh, but this is just the tip of the iceberg!" The hallway headed north began to shine brighter as arrows of light appeared on it, pointing down the hall. Vince was now lying on a bed, in satin pajamas. "Down here are your living quarters, each tailored -- as best I could -- to your preferences. If you want anything changed, don't hesitate to ask! And here..." The north hall faded to match the others, then the northeast hall began to shine brighter. Vince was now in sweats, with small barbells in hand, while a woman in a nurse's outfit looked on. "... is a gym and infirmary. Don't worry about not knowing how to use it, the whole thing's automated, and if something goes wrong, a top-notch doc will be sent down to help patch ya up. Now, here..." The northeast hall faded, and the southeast one glowed brighter. Vince was now decked out as a gladiator, and digitally superimposed into the movie of the same name. "... is the combat simulator, for honing those skills the gym can't handle. It's got oodles of traps and stuff, but don't worry, it's got some heavy safety protocols, too. Now, here..." The southeast hall faded, and the south one glowed brighter. Vince now wore a lab coat and glasses, and held a clipboard in one hand. "... is something I'd advise against messing with: the power generator and life support systems. This place uses a lot of juice, so I made sure to provide you folks with the best generator I could get (wholesale). But you shouldn't need to go down there anyway, the thing's automated and shielded and all that, so no worries. But speaking of worries..." The south hall faded, and the southwest one glowed brighter. Vince was in a cowboy outfit (with shiny gold star), and has roped a black-hatted outlaw. "... you'll be facing a lot of tough hombres out there, and down here is where you'll store 'em, at least until the authorities can take over. Down here are several cells, which can be monitored and controlled from the C&C here. The locks will be keyed to your biometric data, so only you seven can open them. And finally, last, but not least...." The southwest hall faded, and the southeast one glowed brighter. A rumbling sound, like a large vehicle's motor, could be heard echoing down. Vince was now in a huge vehicle which looked like a cross between an APC and a humvee. "... is the garage, in which you'll find the MAVERIC, the Mobile Armored Vehicle for Emergency Response and Intercepting Criminals!" The southeast hall faded back to the soft glow, and the monitors in the C&C showed Vince back at his talk show host set. "Neat, hunh?"
  6. Questions! What sort of Defense System did you want? Blasters, or something more exotic? What option do you want for the Holding Cells: more Toughness, or Nullify?
  7. So to clarify, you want us to replace the PL 8 stats with the stats in the link above?
  8. A tangentially-related question: can the Progression power feat be used to get multiple copies of (near-)identical HQs or Vehicles? Would this get you 25 Abandoned Warehouses? Or is an Array of HQs (like we do here, and as discussed with Kenson here) the only way to get multiple HQs?
  9. It has Concealed x3, so no one knows!
  10. Trust me on this one, dude - Don't say "Polo".
  11. The whistling suddenly stopped. "Marco....?" a gravelly voice called out, echoing off the tombstones. "Mmm... Marco....?" A short cough barked through the fog, then the voice continued, though it was still as gravelly. "Who's there? If you come to pay yer respects, you'll need to come back tomorrow, we're closed." The voice was not local, having far more of a Southern drawl than typical for Freedom City. The voice was also accompanied by the sound of something being roughly slid out of a holster; too big to be a gun, unless maybe a shotgun in an over-the-back holster. A sword, perhaps? And what was that faint green glow in the distance? If they're just punk kids, that might've scared 'em off. If they're here for worse, well, they should be attacking me soon....
  12. There's also the issue of one thing being able to nullify both magic and tech, something that -- in the comics -- is usually only doable by Cosmic Entities.
  13. *jots down some notes*
  14. Quick post from Your Mysterious Benefactor, once everyone's reacted to whats gone on so far and moved downstairs, I'll post more, revealing what Terrible Things you see downstairs ;)
  15. "An excellent question, madame!" a voice called out from nowhere. Jack recognized the voice, as that of The Man From The TV. "And, I might add, an excellent lead-in for...." One section of wall slid back silently, revealing a large flat-screen. On it was what appeared to be a gregarious talk show host, slightly tanned, with hair frozen by too much hairspray. The background was a talk show set, though a moment's study revealed it was obviously computer generated imagery, as if the speaker were in front of a blue screen. "... me! Call me Vince, all the ladies do," he added with a wink. "You've all been made a very special offer, one that neither comes often nor should be taken lightly. But before we get into the details of what you'll be doing, let's see those fabulous prizes!" More sections of walls slid away, revealing rows and rows of cutting edge computer and communications equipment. "But wait, there's more!" Vince chimed as a 10x10 foot section of the floor in the center of the living room sank in and then retracted, revealing a set of spiral stairs down down. Lights soon shone up from whatever rooms were down there. "All the really cool stuff's down there - go on!"
  16. For now, the Brownstone looks like just that: a sparsely furnished Brownstone apartment. All the cool stuff comes later ;)
  17. Carnival Center, headed towards Menagerie Stage "The fire-eater?," the Zombie-Carnie repeated as he took his hand back and stuck it down his jacket sleeve. "Why, I was headed that way myself!" The Zombie-Carnie followed Megan and the others towards the Menagerie Stage. A moment later he pulled both sleeves of his leather jacket about halfway up his forearm, and showed his hands this way and that, revealing they were both firmly attached... and that his makeup did not end at the hands, it went at least all the way up his arms. "Are you sure you're okay, miss?," the gregarious Zombie-Carnie asked Yuki, appearing truly concerned... which meant his make-up job was really good, to be able to still convey emotion like that. "There are a few EMTs around that could help, if you need. The safety of our patrons is a prime concern... well, at least, that's what I was told, when I started here a few days ago."
  18. Or she could be standing right there, invisibly, the whole time!
  19. Carnival Center Thank you, Gods of Slapstick. The zombie carnival hawker took the cowboy's offered hand to shake... and the zombie's hand came off in the cowboy's! "Hey!" he said with obviously faked indignation, "I need that!" Colt noted that the hand was either a very, very good fake... or this really was some sort of dead man walking before him.
  20. From the Kissing Booth to the Carnival Center "Come one, come all to Deedra's Traveling Fun House!" Dead Head continued to cry as he moved through the park, slowly but surely towards the fire eater. "Chills and thrills, the likes of which you've never seen! Be warned, this is not for the faint of heart! Deedra's Traveling Fun House -- we're dying to put on a show for you!" He paused at the gaggle of folks around Colt, Megan, and Yuki. "Whoah, y'all okay here?"
  21. I keep meaning to clarify something to Gizmo: To Jack, they don't. He just has Energy Awareness, which just lets him know whether or not energy powers are being used near him. To know what sort of energy -- whether a Blast was fire or electricity (presuming his other senses couldn't tell him), or whether a fire blast was from a Molotov cocktail or a Metahuman -- he'd need Acute on it.
  22. "Hey, whoa, hold up, now, fellas," the figure said, raising its hands, "seems t'me y'all shouldn't be judgin' a man based on the initial vibes he gives off. Don't judge a book by its cover, an' all that." The figure shifted a bit, but kept its position at the shadowed edge of the clearing and kept its hands up. "Seems a bit of introduction might put us all a bit more at ease. I'll go first: folks call me Dead Head -- looong story, involving the Grateful Dead -- and I'm new to these parts. Truth is, this is the furthest north I've ever been; as I'm sure you can tell by th' way I talk, I'm from the South. Been wanderin' for, oh, 'bout a decade, tryin' t'help those I can in my own special way. But I'm not exactly... presentable, so I do most of my work from the shadows. The folks I help tend not to mind none, though, most're just happy someone remembers 'em." Th figure shifted again, such that he was probably looking at the roiling elemental form. "So what's yer story, Cap'n Planet?"
  23. Healing would give Evil!Doc read access to the Interceptor's biometric data/DNA profiles. ESP would allow Evil!Doc to send false messages and redirect you to his ends. >_> >_>
  24. I believe it's in Hanover (that's where we held Doc's & Malice's business meeting).
  25. That's the sorta thing that can be hashed out in the team formation IC thread ;)
