Once they entered the massive laboratory, Archeville said something in German, and one section of the room sprung to life. A large tank rose from the floor, and was filling with a blueish liquid from hoses connected at the bottom. Archeville pointed towards it, and as they approached, Atlas saw several palm-sized spider-like robots floating in the fluid-filling tank. "Put me in... they vill do de rest...."

"'Normal'?," the obviously dead man asked "I woudn't say that, but it is far more common than it ought to be. And if the underdwellers are movin' out, then something else has moved in. So tracking what part of the city the underdwellers moved away from first would tell us where the does behind this likely first set up shop, and finding where they've most recently been driven from would tell us where the are now." It swiveled towards Avenger, twisting its back in a very unnatural way, "'Upheaval,' eh? Care to go into a bit more detail... Avenger, was it?"

I was going to ask about the "vile business practices." Good use of your Precognition, Shaen ;)

Alright, we'll continue here.

The OOC thread for Dr. Archeville's & Atlas's post-ambush get-together. With sandwiches.
-
Date: September 17th, 2009 Following the unexpected beatdown Dr. Archeville received from Captain Knievel and Emperor, Atlas carried the super-scientist back to his home in Hanover. It was not hard to find -- Atlas did know vaguely where it was, due to Archeville's own celebrity status -- but once there it still odd to see that he appeared to live in a simple, gray two-story house with garden gnomes on the lawn. Lawn gnomes whose eyes gleamed with a red light, eyes that tracked him as he walked to the door. Archeville reached out to open the door himself, and when Atlas squeezed himself in, he was perhaps a bit surprised to see the inside of the building was far, far bigger than the outside indicated. "Down there", he said, pointing to the second of three hallways, "freight elevator can... take us to... mein laboratory..."
-
"Oh, you cannot be giving up so soon, little von!," the Doktor continued to taunt the one remaining gremlin, "now ou und you alone can get al dis tasty tech! Just von short hop up!" "Ja, I am fine, for now," he replied to Atlas, "dough I plan to stay dat vay by staying vell out of deir reach!"

Was this supposed to be locked? I think only Avenger and Phantom had walked out so far.
-
Hello?
-
Hello?
-
Archeville nodded, "ja, I am quite perplexed by all dis. There must be some pattern, some reason why only we were transferred, but I do not haff enough data to figure it out. Haff either of you met anyvon else from our time? Further," he continued, "I am unsure as to vhere ve are: I cannot yet tell if ve are in some parallel vorld, or de past of our own. I hope it is de latter, time travel makes mein head hurt." "I am sure, dough, dat ve can find some answers mitin de castle here."
-
And Phantom's gone, so now it's Avenger and then Arachnos.
-
Hello?
-
Okay, where do you want to continue this (or, rather, where would Atlas take Doc) -- the nearest hospital, or Doc's house in Hanover?
-
Atlas was eventually able to leap up and snatch Archeville down from the sky, just as he was coming to. "Need to... get... to... Hanover... warn others..." [[ Continued here for Atlas and Doc. ]]

September 17th, 2009 Had a nasty run-in tonight with Captain Knievel, along with one new Metahuman who seems to have taken the criminal path. To my dismay, they teemed up against me when I went to investigate a dimensional breach through which someone -- dressed like a carnival barker -- stepped through. My sensors didn't identify his point of origin, so I went in person to investigate and greet who I had hoped was a pleasant newcomer, but instead I was ambushed by Knievel and a young magnetic-manipulating Metahuman who called himself "Emperor." Unfortunately for me, Knievel's hatred of Metahumns is was not as strong as his hatred for me, and I guess "Emperor" just wanted the "cred" for attacking me, so they tag-teamed and blew me almost two miles up into the atmosphere! They overloaded the force field generator in my gravimetric belt, but fortunately not the flight function of it, so I did not instantly plummet back to earth. Even more fortuitous, Atlas, that mountain of red muscle, came to my rescue and brought me down from the sky before any low-flying planes slammed into me, and brought me to a safe place for recuperation. But now I have a problem -- Knievel's still out there, along with that magnetic Metahuman and the man from the dimensional breach, and I have no idea where they are or what they are up to. How can I go to Oktoberfest with such questions weighing heavily upon my mind?!

To Phantom's senses, the... zombie that had just shambled up to her was rather unlike any she'd ever seen before. First off -- which she didn't need her special senses to determine -- it talked to her. What her special senses did tell her was that within the thing before her was quite possibly the strongest concentration of necromantic energy she'd ever seen, shot through with "streaks" of pseudonatural corruption. "Hey there," the... zombie? said to Samael. And, despite the gravelly nature of its voice, it said so... cheerfully? It then pointed to the open grave, "friend of yours?" Oh, great, one of those types. "Dead Head, I am. Called, I was. Grim tidings, brought me. Zombies, are risen. Brains. Use them, we must. To rest, we must return. Them."
-
By the time he got to the graveyard in south Lincoln, Dead Head's clothes were mostly dry from the swim he'd taken across the South River on his way from Lantern Hill. But "mostly dry" still meant "slightly damp." "I have got to find a better way to get around," he mumbled, "Maybe find some spell-slinger who'd help me figure out how I can sometimes teleport, and learn to get that under better control." Approaching from the north, he saw what looked at first glance to be a phantom hovering above the disturbed grave. Wait, I thought this was a dude's grave? Hunh... this bears investigatin'! And so Dead Head walked up to the grave, and very nonchalantly asked the phantom "Friend of yours?"

Transform (person to person with different stats) (5pp/rank) would cover "you gain X, but have to lose enough pp to actually buy X" (It's what I based Belphegor's "buy your soul" ability on [well, the non-Plot Device version]). If you want Trader to actually gain what the other gives up, though... probably some form of Linked Mimic (any trait one at a time) (2pp/rank). And both should probably be Continuous. So that's something like 8pp/rank. EDIT: As Geez points out, it does sound like Transfer -- except you'd need to Drain the target, and Boost both yourself and the Target. That could work, if you want the Trade to eventually wear off. If you want it to be a more-or-less permanent thing, you need Transform. But this all sounds really clunky.

According to the monthly counts (which the Refs are almost done with), Belphegor would be getting 4pp, putting him at 173 (PL 11). I'd like to bump Dead Head up to those totals now that Bel's been NPC'd. Dead Head Power Level: 11 (173/173pp) Trade-Offs: +0 Attack for -0 Damage; -5 Defense for +5 Toughness. Shame they didn't get Masi Oka to voice Toyman First Look (from Geez3r) Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths come to DVD in 2010 This started life as the script for a direct to DVD episode of Justice League that was to bridge the gap between the "Starcrossed" storyline and the beginning of Justice League Unlimited. Alas, it never happened. Now, Dwayne McDuffie has retooled the script and removed JL animated references. It will now be the next DC direct to DVD feature coming in Spring of 2010. Preview

That should be in the movie thread Though there is one serious criticism I've heard of it: it's short. Like, barely over an hour.
