"I haff faced far vorse dan you," Archeville said with an eerie, serene calm. He appeared, for the most part, to be standing quite still, not panicking or rushing or trying to break out of the Laser Whip. "But vhat is de vorse you haff faced? Is dat vhat dis is all about -- finding a vorthy challenge?"

"B-Brown," she said after a moment, "D-Doctor Rachel Brown. I saw it go that way," she pointed down one corridor, "towards the high energy physics laboratories. What is it?" she asked with pleading eyes, "what does it want?" -
Okay, so it's now Initiative & Conditions 26 -- Knievel -- Unharmed -- 3 Villain Points 17 -- Annihilate -- Unharmed -- 2 Villain Points 9A -- Archeville -- Unharmed -- 3 Hero Points (but grappled) 9B -- Emperor -- Unharmed -- 3 Villain Points 1 -- Atlas -- Unharmed -- 2 Hero Points Now is Doc's turn! Doc attempts to escape the grapple by teleporting out of it, 100 feet straight up. However, That's at least going to require a Concentration check (DC 10 + rank of power, so 10+1 = 11). Assuming I can even pull it off. Geez, what say you?

And They Called Me MAD! (IC)

The woman, clearly freaking out, clung to RRG. "Safe? I don't think there is anywhere safe -- that thing was crashing through walls and doors like they were cardboard! And it tore through people like... like...." Her eyes went wide, then she began sobbing hysterically, "don't let it get me, please!" -
Hunh.... Okay, I say we split the different. Atlas is Large (but is he in charge? We'll see!), -1 size modifier. SUV is Huge, -2 size modifier. I'll say that it the attack misses by 1 (the different between the size modifiers), it still might hit, as an Area attack. That work?

What page is that on? I was going by what it says under Improvised Weapons (pg. 162):

"Looks like I should even de odds, den!" Archeville said, and suddenly five more Archeville's suddenly appeared in the room, each aiming their gauntlet-blasters at a different criminal. "Lucky for me I brought mein Matter Duplikator mit me today! Surrender now, und you main get some leniency." As White Knight and his men focused -- he hoped -- on the illusionary doubles, the real Archeville (hidden from their sight due to his cloaking field) flew out the window and down after the Warden. Fortunately for both of them, Archeville's gravimetic belt not only let him fly fast enough to catch him, it was maneuverable enough to allow him to catch the man. "I'ff got you!" Onlookers below would see the Warden had been tossed out the window, then abruptly slowed in his descent about halfway down, landing safely on the ground below. "De power dampers are rebooting now, Varden," he quickly reported, "und should be back up in a few minutes. Mercifully it appears contained to de von cell block, but von uncontrolled cell block is two cell blocks too many, ja? I am going back up to contain Vhite Knight und his cronies.". Before Warden Drummond could give much of a reply, Archeville zipped back up, stopping to hover right outside the window the Warden had been tossed out of.

Yes and no. As I said earlier, Atlas isn't here yet, he won't be appearing until the end of the round. It is an Area attack b/c it's a Large or larger item, but you do still need to roll to hit. If you do hit, it's just a DC (15+12) 27 Toughness save. If you miss by an amount equal to or less than the object's size modifier -- in the case of a Huge SUV, by 2 -- it still hits, but Atlas gets a Reflex save to try and halve the damage. The Reflex DC would be 22 -- 10 + 12, 12 being the effective rank of the attack. If Atlas fails the Reflex save, he faces a DC (15+12) 27 Toughness save. If he makes the Ref save, the attack's rank is cut in half, so it's only a DC (15 + [12/2]) 21 Toughness save (but due to his Impervious 10, he automatically passes, so no damage). Since the effective rank of your attack is greater than the Toughness of the object, the object is destroyed after use.

"Fascinating!" he replied, "do you know if any samples of de liquids vere salvaged? De potential applications for such a compound are-" He stopped himself before he got too far down that line of thought. "I haff been... qvite busy, actually, due in part to the events vhich lead you to be here." He rested his elbows on the table and steepled his fingers, "dough not busy in a vay I vould vish. Both Darts und meinself haff been through de ringer, qvestioned as to how much of Darts resources -- und mein consultations -- vere used in your... extralegal activities. It has been qvite disruptive, in terms of time und finances; several backers haff vithdrawn from both Darts und from mein own personal projekts in light of the revelation of vhat you haff been doing in your off-hours."

Unless you put some Shrinking in there, the "little girl" isn't that little.

... hunh. If the Pup can do that, can he also... could he be Sirius? "I guess it is a good thing I have a rental car, and not a rental van," Jos remarked. Jos lead them to his rented car, down at the far end of the block, then drove them to Liberty Park.
-
Josh, Atlas won't be appearing until the very end of the round. He's not here yet.

Okay, tentative plan: this version of Doc's belt has Flight 4 (100 mph / 1,000 feet move; PFs: 2 Alternate Powers, Instant Up, Move-By Action). Standard Action to create multiple illusionary Docs, a half dozen. And some free action taunting (but not Taunting). Maintaining static illusions is a free action, so they can remain without any concentration on Doc's part. HP to surge to gain another Standard action. Move + Standard action (and Move-By Action feat) for the real Cloaked Doc to fly out, grab/grapple Warden, lower him safely to ground, free action to babble, then fly back up to be back level with baddies. That work?
-
So Doc now has 2 HPs. And six supercriminals.

I know I've explained this before: the Comm Link isn't what lets me access the skill bonuses. Using Gadgets to get Enhanced Skills is what gives Doc Enhanced Skills; the Comm Link bit is flavor to explain how it's working.

Opposed grapple check... only a 10. I'll keep it. Give us a chance to see just how nasty these lil' things can be. ;)
-
Brains & Brawn! *ahem* Both of Knievel's strikes hit. Elemental Strike (DC 29 w/ Power Attack adjustment) does no damage as I get a 31. But Doc cannot beat that grapple check, so I won't even roll. Dr. Annihilate successfully jimmies the SUV door open. Emperor! GO!
-
I don't think I've ever been in so much pain! "It's a rental," Jos replied as he started the car up, "made under a faked name, and nothing in the car can trace it back to me. and I chose this older model and color specifically because it is so innocuous looking." He began driving back to Ghost's apartment, "she may have been watching us all this time, but I doubt it; if I was Kapetelis, I know I would have placed anti-scrying wards around the house. But you are right, she does know she can contact us at your place." They eventually made it to Ghost's apartment, and once inside Jos flopped down on the couch.

Initiative & Conditions 26 -- Knievel -- Unharmed -- 4 Villain Points 17 -- Annihilate -- Unharmed -- 2 Villain Points 9A -- Emperor -- Unharmed -- 3 Villain Points 9B -- Archeville -- Unharmed -- 3 Hero Points This is gonna hurt.... Knievel! GO!

Ronin's VP isn't a custom thing, it's straight from Warriors & Warlocks. And aside from the "Whirling Blades" thing, all Ronin's Equipment is standard weapons you can really buy (which wasn't the case with Arrowhawk's cloak). I wouldn't hand out an HP for the insubstantial interpose failure. You do realize the rules don't take into account every possible combination, right? They didn't bother clarifying what happens when someone with Insubstantial tries to Interpose b/c... well... when has that ever happened? I believe the -4 for shooting into melee is only used if you want to avoid hitting an ally. If Knievel is shooting at Phantom & Phalanx, he's not going to take the -4 b/c he won't care if he hits one or the other, as long as he hits one.
-
We probably should roll for initiative now.... Doc has a mighty 9!

Doktor Archeville had been puttering in his laboratory in Hanover when his home's long-range energy sensors started screaming. A dimensional breach had formed in the West End! The latest upgrades he'd made to his system were working beautifully: not only could he tell that it was a reach to a parallel Earth, but he was also able to tap into some nearby traffic cameras (and the mall's security cameras) and see who had popped out! Archeville grabbed his gear, and as he secured his Gravimetric Belt he switched his amazing mind to "interaction mode," so as to be as warm as possible to the newcomer... or as intimidating, if need be. Once set, he activated his own micro-wormhole generator in his Belt, teleporting instantly to the newcomer's location. If he had waited a few moments more, he would see the other figures who were also converging on the scene. A man-sized wormhole opened about 30 feet in front of Dr. Annihilate (and about 20 feet behind Captain Knievel and Mervyl). Out of it stepped Doktor Archeville, his arms open and a welcoming smile on his face. "Greetings, dimensional traveler, und velcome to Freedom City! Vhat is de purpose of your visit? Business? Pleasure? Or-" One of his arms dropped to his side, while the other became a pointing finger aimed at Knievel. "You!"
