Maj. Gen. Rieth nods at Ace's words, and two of the soldiers with him moved to flank Eric Micheals. "Few casualties? Well, at least that's one bit of luck -- when we first got word, we prepared for the worst. Not that this isn't bad, of course, but we take what good news we can get." He turned slightly to the fourth soldier, still at his side, "Lieutenant, radio the base, tell the-" The Major General paused as he saw Dark Star fly over head, carrying about 20,000 gallons of water overhead, and pouring it out onto the fires. This helped the firefighters considerably. "Never get tired of seeing things like that," the Major General muttered. Then, "Right, Lieutenant, radio base an-" And then Dark Star spilled the beans, through every radio in the area. And then Eric Micheals ranted. "... Hunh. Men," the Major General said to the two flanking Eric (though one was in fact a woman), "secure this man for later questioning. I've a feeling this is going to take a while to sort out. Once this settles down some," he nodded towards Phantom, "we'll track down everyone else involved in this and find out just what really happened." The Major General and is men took over coordination of the rescue efforts, directing the heroes where they could do the most good once they found out what the heroes could do. Due to Dark Star's delivery, it only took about 15 more minutes to get all the fires completely put out. There was still tons of rubble, of course, and downed power lines, burst underground water and sewage lines, not to mention the giant crater in the middle of the neighborhood, which due to the water running off from the firefighting was temporarily a very nasty pond.

This is why we have folks put a "DC Block" section in their char sheets, so we can have things pre-calculated Spartan's unarmed damage has a base DC of 23, modified by Power Attack.

There's three doors, on the southern, western, and northern walls. The stairs lead down so that the southern door is in front of you, about 15 feet away. Which one are you checking out?
-
When Ghost peered down, he could see Belphegor had moved up about halfway back up the stairs. "No, nothing more, but I'm not sure what's beyond those doors. I tried listening, thought I heard a bit of something, but it may just have been some rats. Thought it best to wait on you." "Find any flashlights up there? No sense in you being at a disadvantage." Ghost does find several, one on each guard.

Kapetelis is knocked cold by falling debris. Ghost is now the only conscious being in a hallway filled with KO'd security guards.

+1 is 20, fails by 1, he's out.

I'm gonna say the critical gives an effective +5 bonus to your Str modifier for disarming, just like a critical normally does for when you're trying to damage someone. So your total is actually 13. And he has.... -1 from his Str of 9 = 4, so you easily beat. And since you were doing so unarmed, you now have the gun.
-
Lady Luck smiles on the Ghost as he is able to maneuver into the perfect spot to apply a maximum amount of pressure on Kapetelis' wrist, forcing his hand open and dropping the gun into Ghost's grasp. "You're not going to get away with this. Do you have any idea who I am?!" Man, where is he? It shouldn't take this long to knock out the guy. Or kill 'im.

Free action to switch on Cloaking field. Spend an HP to surge and gain an extra Move action. Move action to... move, and full round to switch from Enhanced Charisma to Enhanced Intelligence. He's gonna beat them with his mind. Or so he thinks. They know Doc can cloak themselves, so they've upgraded their armor to see through his cloak. (Well, not "see", thy have an Accurate Counters Concealment Radius Ranged Radio Sense.) No.1 tries to Intimidate/demoralize Gossamer. -5 for doing so as a Move action, and he gets 14+3 is 17 total. You can resist with either Intimidate, Sense Motive, or a Will save. If you fail, she's shaken (-2 on attack & rolls) for one round. As his standard action, he blasts as you. 6+11 is 17, which just misses Gossamer. End round 1. No.7 also fires on Gossamer. 10+11 is 21, enough to hit her. Need a DC 24 Toughness save; remember that if it stuns you, you may be knocked back. No. 3 holds while No.5 turns around, and then they shoot... at Archeville! 2+11 is 13, misses. 15+11 is 26, which hits. Doc needs to make a DC 24 Toughness save. 11+13 is 24, which just makes it. Doc is fine, though he knows they can see him, so he's upset at that. Initiative & Conditions 20 -- Power Corps #7 -- Unharmed 13A -- Power Corps #5 -- Unharmed 13B -- Power Corps #3 -- Unharmed 10 -- Gossamer -- 2 HP -- Unharmed? 9 -- Doc -- 2 HP -- Unharmed 8 -- Power Corps #1 -- Unharmed

Most of the Biergarten's patrons were still very confused and frazzled, but a few did look towards where Archeville and Gossamer had been sitting. But Archeville was not there anymore. Concealed by his cloaking field, he slowly flew out, past stunned waitstaff, and past Gossamer. He tried to whisper something to her, but then remembered his latest upgrades to the belt's cloaking field blocked sound as well as it did electromagnetic radiation. So he continued, up and around the scared patrons and the rubble, until he was in amongst the middle of the group. He planned to uncloak amongst them, say something witty, then use his Electromagnetic Screwdriver to disable them all, just like he had with their teammates he faced almost a year ago. At least, that was the plan. "Sod off, lady," No.1 sneers, "we don't want you, we want your boyfriend!" His last word was punctuated by a blast from his left gauntlet, though it missed and hit the ground a few inches or so to her left; she was unsure if he'd intended to do that, or with he'd truly meant to hit her but misjudged. She does not have to wonder that for the blast from No.7, which hit her head on! As Gossamer deals with that, she can see No.5 -- who had been facing outward, tot he street -- turn around and look between their group. No.3 joins in, and both raise their gauntlet-blasters at something in amongst them. They open fire; No.5's beam blasts a hole in the floor, but No.3's beam strikes something invisible in their midst. "Coward! Your cloaking field won't save you! Surrender to us now, or we start blasting people!"

Sure. I nominate Sand to run it.
-
Also, the "all damage is nonlethal until the player explicitly says they're doing lethal" applies to NPCs run by folks, like the monsters and other foes Avalon is throwing at you. JLU had several eps featuring big battles that weren't blood-soaked messes and no deaths were shown. One ep -- "Chaos at the Earth's Core" -- is the perfect exemplar for what's going on here.

No, we're not. Most of the Mecha rules that book has are of use for running big mecha vs. mecha brawls and/or mecha-centric campaigns. The latter doesn't happen here, and the former is so rare we can make do with the regular rules from the core books.
-
That's a lot for the Refs to look over, so you should submit that as if it's a new char. We can add it to the existing char sheet later, once we okay it.
-
Doc has Flight, she needn't have fallen at all But I really should've spelled that out earlier, so a-falling I do go. So what's Wesley crit'ing Otaku with?
-
... oh my.
-
Durf? I think most folks are waiting on Ace Danger to do some speechafyin' to the National Guard.
-
Depends on how they "live on after death." Time Lord-style Regeneration? Yes, b/c they died but then came back to life. Vampire or other undead? Nope, their bodies are fully dead. No, first we need to see if I actually managed to cut through the floor ;)

Happy Birfday!

What would the 90's X-Men or Spider-Man cartoons/the DCAU/X-Men Evolution do?
-
"Excellent!," Victoria exclaimed, reconfiguring her Electromagnetic Lipstick, "now let us see if we can get de drop on him, ja?" She pressed one end of the E.L. to the floor and began to draw a wide circle around herself; as she did the 'lipstick' which was left behind began dissolving the floor.

.... LOLWUT? He's not alive, he has no Con score. "Else he would be worm food" makes no frakkin' sense whatosever given the tons of stories about vampires and other undead that aren't worm food. He's not "as much alive as he is dead," he has no life in him at all, no metabolic processes. He doesn't eat, he doesn't bleed, he's a magically animate corpse. He's said as much in this very adventure. But I suppose an undead could ping off Detect Life in the same way a "dead magic zone" could ping off Detect Magic: noticeable by the utter absence of the thing you normally detect in something which should have the thing you detect. Then something shall I do! Standard action to reconfigure Gadgets to Corrosion 5 (Flaws: Action/Full Round, Distracting) Use an HP to surge & gain another standard action, then use a full round to corrode a 5x5 foot section of floor.

And They Called Me MAD! (IC)
Dr Archeville replied to Dr Archeville's topic in Else Ifs and What Worlds
Going against the flow, RRG trudges through the drainage river. He keeps telling himself that this is mostly run off water from drains, and at worse there'll be old motor oil people carelessly toss down drains, and not biological waste... but part of him is still on edge. Along the way, he does note several floating white objects: more bones. Judging by the size, rat bones; eventually a few skulls pop up confirming it. Eventually the "river" he is in ends as he reaches its source: several smaller drainage pipes, the biggest of which are barely big enough to him to stick his arm through. -
That's it, go on. Jos waved Ember off, "I may have a glass of warm milk before going to bed, but nothing else. Eating late tends to give me indigestion." Okay, once he goes I'll wait a few moments to make sure he's gone, then scoop up this stuff and duck behind that pile of crates there, so that he can't see me if he should come back. A quick change, a quick blast or two of hellfire, then change back before he returns. I can crush up some of these gemstones and bend some of these metal pieces while he's up there, too; I can't do so now because I don't want to tip off just how strong I am to him.

Yeah, she could stunt Protection 8 (giving her +12 total) & Prehensile Hair 2 from her Prehensile Hair 10. Though I think Force Field might be a better mechanic for it. Be aware, though, that you'll have to use Extra Effort to do so, and use it any time you switch out of Force Field mode to some other use of your hair and then back to Force Field, since the temporary power feat/power stunt lasts for the duration of the encounter or until it's no longer maintained, whichever comes first. And being totally bereft of her Device would easily be worth a Hero Point for the setback. Initiative & Conditions 20 -- Power Corps #7 -- Unharmed 17 -- Power Corps #3 -- Unharmed 13 -- Power Corps #5 -- Unharmed 10 -- Gossamer -- 2 HP -- Unharmed 9 -- Doc -- 3 HP -- Unharmed 8 -- Power Corps #1 -- Unharmed No's 7, 3 and 5 hold their action, waiting for when/if Archeville appears.
