But hasn't there been a story where Wes did detect that Avenger isn't alive? And Wes confronted Avenger about it?
-
Super-Thug-in-Training! He's gonna be the bestest thug there is!
-
Would he? Would his Detect Life pick up on an undead abomination?

Welcome back! I also ope to see more of Super Thug :)

And They Called Me MAD! (IC)
Dr Archeville replied to Dr Archeville's topic in Else Ifs and What Worlds
The first several sewer or water drainage access points he finds are too narrow for him to get very far in, and it's hard to tell if that bit of slime there or that puddle of goo there is something from a Blob monster or something non-blob-related. He does at last find one of the main branches of the drainage system, which has narrow ledges on either side of the rushing river of water and filth, and just tall enough that he doesn't need to crouch too much to walk around. It's pitch dark down there. Good thing RRG's got darkvision. [ Gimme a Notice check. ] RRG finds most of a skeleton along one of the ledges. It's lying face-up, with the head end nearest you; its left arm and leg had been dangling in the rushing river but it appears they've been carried off. The skeleton is covered in translucent blob-slime. -
To clarify: all damage is considered nonlethal unless explicitly stated otherwise. And even then, it shouldn't be happening often. We're trying to keep this place like the DCAU or X-Men: Evolution, not 300.

Kapetelis' Notice can't beat your Stealth, so I didn't bother rolling. But, his counter-Intimidate can't not beat your Intimidate, so I didn't bother rolling that, either.
-
Kapetelis did not notice Ghost's presence until he grabbed him by the shoulder, but then he whipped around and drew a gun on him! "Back off!" Ghost noticed it was one of the fancy guns from the two guards.

Doc is holding her action until Wesley can tell her where Otaku is (or even if Otaku is here). Also, she has 4 Heroine Points.

The last skeleton continues to lash out, now at Belphegor, and though it hits, its bone claws only manage to pry off a few loose scales. "Ha! That tickled!" the demon roared as he smashed the last skeleton to pieces. "I... I guess I'll wait here." Ghost got up the stairs much faster than he'd went down, but did not see Kapetelis in his panic room. He did, however, hear something from the far end of the hallway. It was Greek cursing, along with a sound of pieces of metal screeching against one another. Carefully peering out, he could see Kapetelis trying to get the elevator to work, but the damage it had sustained from the firefight was not allowing it.

Lady Luck has not just turned her face from you, she's mooning you! Initiative 12 -- Skeletons (1) 7 -- Belphegor -- 1 VP -- Bruise x3 1 -- Ghost -- 1 VP -- Bruise x3, Fatigued Skeleton tries to claw at Belphegor, and hits a 20! But he shakes it off with a 21, no damage. He then destroys the last skeleton.

I see several options: * Check with the police lab boys, see what they've discovered about the goo/slime and the blobs. Maybe they've figured out where these things are from. Possibly cross-check with other scientific types, like the Atoms. * Check through the metal bits from the blobs, see if there's anything that could identify its owner, like an engraved watch or ring, or necklace, or keys, or an artificial hip. Could help ID who all's been eaten, and thus where these things have been. * Though you've not found any direct evidence of blobs coming from the sewers/drainage pipes, they are a likely place from which they came, and could be worth checking out anyway. * Burn the Promenade to the ground to keep people away.

Initiative 12 -- Skeletons (2) 7 -- Belphegor -- 1 VP -- Bruise x3 1 -- Ghost -- 1 VP -- Bruise x3, Fatigued The two regroup a bit, all both try to strike Ghost. 19 and 13 -- one manages to hit! DC 16 Toughness save. Bel switches places with Ghost, and takes out another Skeleton (power attack for -1 attack/+1 damage). One more to go.
-
Two skeletons left now, clawing for Ghost as the scramble amongst the shattered remains of their brethren. Amazingly, one lands its claws on Ghost! "Oooh, that looked like it hurt. Perhaps I should take over," he said as he switched places with Ghost and smashed a skeleton to pieces with his mighty fists. "Besides, I just realized: while we're down here, what's to stop Kapetelis from calling more backup? Perhaps you should go up and take care of him."

May 10th, 2009 (Monday, evening) Just got done meeting with Sirius' mother, Gwen, as well as a new antiques supplier, a Mr. William. She's a feisty one, and William seemed rather... non-sociable, but he seemed more comfortable around things than people. We made a deal, part of which is that I get to keep Sirius on as an employee (and, presumably, the Fox-Pup that serves him). They've also given me use of a most interesting item, which can be used to order assorted mystical items from their family workshops; they can 'age' the items to make them look like true antiques, though any mystical examination would reveal them to be the newly minted pieces they are. Though it's not like that is much of a drawback. My price in this: I keep my eyes and ears open for them, report anything unusual I pick up on. Something Gwen did mention in passing I will definitely keep an eye out for: red birds. She said not to trust them, which makes me very curious.

All the cool kids are doing it! Some TV Tropes that apply to Doktor Viktor Heinrich Archeville are: Applied Phlebotinum, and almost all of its subtropes Awesome by Analysis & Badass Bookworm Baddass Labcoat (boy, is it!) Barrier Warrior, though his force field can also become an Invisibility Cloak. Clothes Make the Legend (his Gravimetric Belt and Armored Lab Coat) Clown Car Base and Cool House (Warning: Some Rooms Contain Alien Geometries) Eldritch Abomination (Deep Ones did... something to his great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather; this tampering is the source of his Enhanced mental attributes, Immunities, and mental Quickness) For Science! ("To paraphrase Richard Feynman, 'Science is like sex: it has practical uses, but that's not why I do it.'") Gadgeteer Genius, Mad Scientist, and Omnidisciplinary Scientist German Language und Gratuitous German, und you vill like it! Gollum Made Me Do It (mildly averted; his Dark Side keeps trying to push/take over, but so far he's resisted. So far.) Good Angel, Bad Angel (his Shoulder Daemons) Insufferable Genius (semi-averted; he prefers to let his actions speak for him) Kirby Dots (his inventions will have these. So do some things in his house. Like the toaster.) Magic Tool (his Electromagnetic Screwdriver) Magic vs. Science (like Reed Richards & Tony Stark, Archeville treats magic as a form of science he admits that he does not understand, and which makes him profoundly irritated and uncomfortable) Nazi Grandpa (he had one!) Not Wearing Tights (rubber-soled boots, khaki pants, a nice shirt, and a lab coat) Parental Abandonment (his mother died in childbirth, his father was committed to an insane asylum when he young Viktor turned 13) Reeeming Replacement (for both his grandfather, and, post-ArchEvil, himself) Reed Richards Is Useless (Dok could potentially do a lot more for the world, but he focuses on the big, unusual problems that most scientists & engineers cannot even begin to fathom. Also, much o his stuff is so advanced it can't be peer reviewed [since no one else understands it], and some of his stuff is so ridiculously advanced it would be dangerous for others who lack the proper skill to try and duplicate/mass produce it) Alternate Universe Reed Richards Is Awesome (and, more often than not, Terrifying) Rich Idiot With No Day Job (averted; he's a well-known omnidisciplinary engineer who consults for several different firms, and has started up his own international chain of research laboratories) Science Hero (though that should be Science! Hero) He'd the The Smart Guy in a Five Man Band. Stupid Jetpack Hitler (his grandfather was one, and some people mistake him for one) Super Intelligence (oh yeah) Technological Pacifist (usually; he doesn't carry any weapons, though his Electromagnetic Screwdriver can do in a pinch) Teleporters & Transporters (his Gravimetric Belt allows him to teleport) Teen Genius (sorta; Doc entered college when he was 16, and had two Master's degrees and a Doctorate when he was 22) Those Wacky Nazis (again, his grandfather, and some of his speech pattern when he's really in Mad Scientist mode) Weird Science (Science!) West Germany (it's where he's from, and he goes back every year for Oktoberfest) The Global Guardians PBEM Universe is one of the first places I used Doktor Archeville.

The Ballad of G.I. Joe

... what? Jos chuckled, a bit nervously, "yes, well, I am sure you would not want to eat me anyway; I am probably very high in cholesterol." And very, very spicy. When Ember asked about food, he pointed up, "help yourself to whatever is in the refrigerator. I believe there are a few steaks in there, and some chicken." He yawned and stretched again. And if it means getting you out of my hair for a few minutes, all the better; some of these processes can be sped up with the application of hellfire, which I cannot summon while in this form.

That would be the recipe for a Bathroom Mentalist, yes.

I would lean towards "no". Telelocation seems to be a mental sense ESP, and mental senses aren't accurate by default.
