I'm going to say "Yes, yes it does." :)

Gain a Villain Point for the complication Jos' Secret Identity are putting on him? He doesn't want Ember, or any of his clan, known he's a demon. (I'll need one if I'm going to jury-rig a magic item for the scrying.)

Okay, some pure water... one of these tin baking sheets... these tiny demonic icons I've got hidden under the silverware... "So," Jos called from the kitchen, "how long do you think it will take for them to set the trap? How long do you think I will have to work on this?" Please say several days.

And They Called Me MAD! (IC)
Dr Archeville replied to Dr Archeville's topic in Else Ifs and What Worlds
The decked blob is decked, and falls to the ground, twitching a bit but mostly still. The blobs change course -- but not facing, they simply change direction -- and continue towards RRG. All are too far (for now) to reach him. "flllessshhhh.... joooiiinnnnn.... usss.... " -
Medium Blob fails Toughness save by 16, is unconscious. Initiatives 14 -- Blob, Medium (5) -- 1 fine, 2 Bruised, 1 Staggered, 1 Unconscious. 11 -- RRG -- unharmed, 1 Hero Point 4 -- Blob, Huge (1) -- Staggered Huge Blob moves 40 feet towards you. Is now about 60 feet away. Staggered Blob was 90 feet away, is now 140 feet away. Moves 30 feet closer, is now 110 feet away. Charging Medium Blobs were 60 feet away, now 170 feet away. They charge 60 feet, are now 110 feet away. Blob that had been at RRG is now 230 feet away. It charges 60 feet, and is now 170 feet away. None of them can reach you.

That went slightly better than I expected. I had a feeling she'd have the Pup keep an eye on me, but I also figured she'd leave one of her elementalists here, too. "Of course, madame," he replied with his Salesman's Smile as they departed. He then turned to Ember. Let's hope the Pup doesn't know much about my type of magic. "Right... well... gather that bowl, that ceremonial knife, the rings from the bottom row of the display case on the far left, and that hand mirror," he said, pointing to various items in his shoppe, "while I collect some reagents from the kitchen." He headed for the back of the shoppe, feather still firmly in hand.

The kicked blob reels back a few feet, but is still up and about. The elephant-sized Blob, and the three man-sized blobs which had been caught in the blast, all move towards RRG. Two move fast enough that, he calculates, they'll be close enough to strike if he does not soon move. The two that are already at him strike, but both land only glancing blows. "flllessshhhh.... joooiiinnnnn.... usss.... " -
Kicked blob is hit, gets a 21, fails by 4, only Bruised. Initiatives 14 -- Blob, Medium (5) -- 1 fine, 3 Bruised, 1 Staggered. 11 -- RRG -- unharmed, 1 Hero Point 4 -- Blob, Huge (1) -- Staggered Huge Blob drags itself 40 feet closer to RRG. It's still 110 feet away. Staggered Blob moves 30 feet closer. It's now 90 feet away. 2 Medium Blobs that were in blast (both Bruised) charge towards RRG. They move 60 feet closer; they're now 60 feet away. The 2 Medium Blobs still at RRG (1 fine, 1 bruised) attack. Both just manage to hit, but their combined digestive secretions are not enough to get over his Impervious.

Success! I knew that- wait... what, do it here, now?! I can't let them know about my demonic side, but demonic magic is what I'd be using to track her. Think, Jos, think.... "Oh..." he replied. "well, you see, I am not entirely certain I have everything I would need to enact the search. It's not that I need anything rare, per se, my magical style is very 'home spun,' you could say. It also requires some time and some privacy; the few times I have enacted a ritual wit observers, things went... poorly." "But," he was quick to add to his growing web of half-lies, "once I do find her, I will simply approach her as I am, and express interest in continuing our... prior conversation. I can steer her into a trap that you all devise, make her come to you instead of you chasing after her. Would that not be preferable?"

None of them can make the Reflex save for the Explosion, so they all may take full damage, based on where they are. Huge Blob got 13, fails by 12, so it's Staggered & Stunned. 2 Medium Blobs out of range. Other three face a DC 22 DC due to where they were, and get 14, 15, and 12, failing by 8, 7, and 10. First two are Stunned & Bruised, third is Stunned & Staggered. All the Small and Tiny ones go up; they can't make either the Reflex or Toughness saves. Initiatives 14 -- Blob, Medium (5) -- 2 fine, 2 Bruised & Stunned, 1 Stunned & Staggered. 11 -- RRG -- unharmed, 1 Hero Point 4 -- Blob, Huge (1) -- Staggered & Stunned Huge Blob is stunned, does nothing. 2 un-damaged Medium Blobs which had been charging continue to charge. Both hit; one criticals. Need a DC 25 Tougnhess save from you as its enzymes get into all your delicate places; your Impervious protects you from the other.

And They Called Me MAD! (IC)
Dr Archeville replied to Dr Archeville's topic in Else Ifs and What Worlds
It is a beautiful sight, in its own way. The great roar of the explosion, the heat, the light, the squelching screams of the vaporizing blobs.... Well, except for the two human-sized ones which had been galloping towards RRG, they were clear of the blast. In fact, all the human-sized ones seemed intact, though the others were not moving much. They were mostly intact, but not going through the death-throes he'd seen so many go through. And the big one was still standing, too. It was swaying, and leaking goo everywhere, but it was in nowhere near enough pieces for RRG to be comfortable. Unfortunately, as he was planning what to do next, the two blobs which had been rushing toward him reached him; one latched on to his left leg, the other to his right shoulder. Even more unfortunately, RRG was now realizing that his right shoulder seals had been compromised by repeated blob exposure, and this one was getting in! "flllessshhhh.... joooiiinnnnn.... usss.... Terhune -- and Diabolic -- Charm, don't fail me now! "Well," he began, pacing back and forth, his tone shifting slightly to a more businesslike one, "the fact I am a... civilian would work in your favor. If she is a canny foe (and I've no doubt she is), she would know when you lot are tracking her. She would know the signatures of your magic, know the signs that you are on her trail. But me," he paused in his pacing, pointed to himself with the feather, then resumed, "well, she barely knows me, so wouldn't know my magical styles. And if she did track my scryings down, she would probably assume I am merely pursuing her for... " he twirled the feather against his cheek a moment, "for more intimate reasons. She has no idea I am affiliated with you lot -- as far as she knows my only connection is that a fox-man has been in my shoppe at some point, a tangential link at best -- so my pursuit of her will not raise any suspicions concerning you." "And if she does identify me, and does lash out at me..." Jos's mind briefly envisioned her wielding a whip, "well... I am sure you can use the signatures of whatever magics she uses on me to track her as easily as you could with this," he said, holding up the feather again. He stood, smiling, hoping his words were well-received.

Sounds like you should be making an Intimidate check now, with a +2 bonus Your DC is 15.
-
But... no! This is all I have to remember her by! Well, that and the mental images. Mmmm... Wait, maybe we can work together! "May I ask for what purpose?," he replied, still in a light tone. "I can track her for you... even serve as bait for a trap, since she already knows I'm 'clear'."

Initiatives 14 -- Blob, Medium (5) 11 -- RRG -- unharmed, 1 Hero Point 11 -- Blobs, Tiny (25) 10 -- Blobs, Small (10) 4 -- Blob, Huge (1) Medium Blobs charge towards RRG, but cannot reach. They're now 40 feet from him. I've edited my last IC post to include their move, so now it's you.

Avenger senses all is well.... except for that weird green kid. What's his deal?

And now it is time for (the first) Big Battle. 25 Tiny Blobs, 10 Small ones, 5 Medium ones, and 1 Huge one. The Tiny and Small ones are treated as Minions. Initiatives 14 -- Blob, Medium (5) 11 -- Blobs, Tiny (25) 10 -- Blobs, Small (10) 4 -- Blob, Huge (1) The closest one is 100 feet away; the closest edge of Huge one, in the center of it all, is 150 feet away.

And They Called Me MAD! (IC)
Dr Archeville replied to Dr Archeville's topic in Else Ifs and What Worlds
The third man-sized blob explodes, showering the area with slime and gunk. As RRG goes deeper in, he is attacked by more blob, housecat-, dog-, and person-sized, but all are quickly destroyed through a combination of speed, science, and daka. The apparent center of the "colony" was going to be a bit trickier. There were about two dozen of the tiny, house-cast sized blobs, skittering about here and there. There were also about a dozen of the dog-sized ones, and about half as many of the people-sized ones, all creeping and seeping about. They all surrounded a massive, elephant-sized blob which quivered and quaked in the middle of the clearing. One end of it was currently around a tree, which was quickly being dissolved. The man-sized blobs charge towards RRG, moving about as fast as a running human, but are not able to cross the distance before he can react. -
140 feet away, to be exact.

RRG tears one of the creatures off of him, and it falls to the ground with a wet THUD The other one dashes for him, but is not fast enough to cover the gap; it's still well over 100 feet away. "flllessshhhh.... joooiiinnnnn...." -

"Wh...what do you want with me?!" "What we want, little mortal, is-" the demon began, then suddenly paused, and looked a bit... nauseous? He cleared his throat and began again, "What we want is... is...." Intimidating demands did not flow from the demon's mouth. Rather, it was something far more vile, combined with wracking coughs. For while his half-demon body had been able to restore itself from the gruesome acts it had done moments ago, the other half -- his human half -- violently rebelled at those acts. "Damn," he said with surprising regret at the ruined rug, "that looked like it was a nice antique kilim, too." Kapatelis' expression had gone from fear to annoyance, "Who are you people?"

Okay, I'll take over from here. Intimidating Kapetelis to give us what we want. I'd think having beaten his guards -- an obvious show of superior force -- would give a +2 bonus to the Intimidate check. Taking 10 would get me a 14, but Kapetelis has a +11 modifier to his opposed Intimidate check, so I'll roll. And Bel gets... a 6 (rolled a 2)! Kapetelis can't not beat that! This is not going at all as I'd planned. :| Fortunately, I know a perfect way to describe such an utter failure at intimidation ;)

Whoa! Okay, I've got to check those anti-teleport wards I'd set up. To say Jos was surprised by this sudden arrival would be a massive understatement. This was due in part because he'd worked hard and paid good money to set up wards that would prevent just this sort of thing, and in part because he was still ecstatic over the Mysterious Woman in Red. "No idea, Ms. Vulpes," he replied in a light voice, "but I am sure she can be tracked...." He twirled the red feather around, and brushed it against his cheek.
