  1. RRG's blast hits, and vaporizes one of the blob-monsters with no problem. The other two land with a sickening THUD on the ground, but quickly rise up and continue coming for the hero, moving with frightening speed. They reach up and grasp at RRG's rocket-boots, and get a solid hold on! But, again, the suit's sensors tell him that their secretions, while stronger than those of the smaller blobs, are not potent enough to do any real damage. There is something else different about these massive blobs: RRG can make out some sort of sound coming from them. It almost sounds like.... [ Notice check ] "flllessshhhh.... joooiiinnnnn...."
  2. Ah, yes, I'd forgotten Sirius was back there. Yes, warning them would work perfectly. Dimensional isn't a PF you can apply to Teleport; to teleport between dimensions you need Super-Movement (dimensional). But it's an NPC, so the cost difference doesn't really matter.... The "anchor" would make it so they don't need Accurate, so they'll be able to teleport in fine, if the teleport works. Teleport vs. Nullify, so 1d20+9 (Teleport rank) vs. 1d20+4 (Nullify rank). You'll probably win IF not, they'd appear right outside (front yard, back yard, wherever). *rolls* Yeah, I got a 6, so you don't even need to roll. Okay, problems solved!
  3. 3 man-sized Blobs. Initiative = -2 RRG can't not beat that.
  4. RRG continued onwards. More of the housecat-sized blobs dropped on him from their perches in the trees, but his fantastic armor both protected him and made short work of them. As he went deeper in, the blobs started getting bigger, but his armor held up admirably. There were ones the size of large dogs, but his armor saw him through them with no more trouble than it did through the housecat-sized ones. But when they stared getting man-sized, things got a bit more troublesome. Specifically, when three dropped down on him from above.
  5. And he does. From what RRG can tell through the tactile senors, it feels like tearing apart a wet burlap sack. A wet burlap sack filled with potent digestive enzymes. All seems quiet again.
  6. The blob vaporizes. The one remaining on his right shoulder crawls up and covers RRG's face, but the suits airtight seals keep it from toughing his flesh.
  7. RRG's blast goes straight for the blob in the middle, which explodes, showering slime everywhere. Some splashes onto RRGs suit, but internal sensors indicate it's doing nothing worse than making the enamel crack slightly. The remaining two both land on RRG, one on each shoulder. Suit integrity sensors indicate that they are secreting a cocktail of potent digestive enzymes, but all its doing to the suit is peeling the enamel.
  8. You are not surprised when blob monsters fall on you, so they do not get a surprise round. (That's higher than they can get on Stealth, so I'm not going to roll.) Initiative time. Blobs (3) have a 15.
  9. There is one consolation to the increasing number of slimed trees: they're away from the jogging paths, so it is highly unlikely someone would have run into them. Now the slimed trees were 25 feet apart.... 10 feet... soon he figured he'd be in an area where all the trees were slimed. But where were the things doing the sliming? [[ One Notice check, please. ]] RRG suddenly knew: three housecat-sized blobs of translucent green nastines flung themselves out of the trees and towards the hero!
  10. RRG finds several trees have slime trails going up and down them, about one every 300 feet or so. He also notes a distinct lack of forest sounds. True, this wasn't a completely wild forest, there were jogging paths and electric lights going through, but there should still be some sounds... but there are none. As he keeps going northwest, he notes that the slime trails are becoming more frequent. Now they were popping up every 200 feet... after a few more minutes or searching, every 100 feet... after a few more minutes, every 50 feet...
  11. "replied, at first flat and coolly but quickly warming" = switching from Enhanced Int to Enhanced Cha ;)
  12. "Good to see you, too, Doctor de Havilland!," Archeville replied, at first flat and coolly but quickly warming. "It is good to see you again, dough I hope our meting dis time does not go as disastrously as our last von!" "Also, do not be so qvick to downplay your potential contributions. Dis device," he kneeled next to it and pointed to one section which had had its panels removed, "is partly or wholly of Grue origin, so dere is going to be some organic technology in here, vhich I am certain you can help mit."
  13. After your next post, my next one will have... SUPERVILLAINS!
  14. "Oh, I am sorry to hear you got so ill!," Archeville replied, clearly sounding concerned. "I haff heard of dat happening to many others, but it is someding dat has never happened to me. I suppose I haff built up a tolerance over de years, both to biological and chemical agent exposures, und to lack of sleep. Vhy, dere haff been many, many times vhen I have vorked for three or four days straight mitout sleep, und vhile it did get to me by the end, von night's sleep saw me ready und eager to go again!" "In fact, in a vay," he continued, "I haff de opposite problem: too much idle time makes me restless und cranky. Dere is so much I vant to know, so much I vant to do, so much good I vish to do mit mein talents und creativity, dat not doing vork in de labs makes me feel... vell, lazy, I guess. Part of dat 'Germa vork ethic', ja?" he added with a chuckle. "Vhich brings me to vhat big projekt I vill be vorking on: I am going to found mein own company! An international chain of research laboratories, unconnected to any von government or any business interests." Archeville seemed more animated now than he'd been all night, "It vill focus on multi-disciplinary research, in a number of scientific fields, but especially dose pertaining to metahuman activity und de increasing emergence of metahumans. Bionics und cybernetics, energy projection, force field generation, genetics und genome stability, gravimetrics, advanced metallurgy, nanotechnology, particle physics... all dis und more!," he punctuated by pounding his fist dramatically on the table. "It vould also provide humanitarian aid in times of crises, especially medical aid und food und supply transport. It vill be glorious!"
  15. Angel, did you still want to continue this even though Moira's gone for a few months?
  16. When Ghost looked back to the demon, he was not standing beside him, as he thought. He was back at the downed men, crouched over one. Ghost could hear... sickening sounds. I can't believe I'm doing this... but these demonic instincts... they compel me! The demon rose up and walked slowly towards Ghost; he could see the the massive chunk which had been blown out of the demon's shoulder and wing was now mostly healed, though he still showed many wounds over the rest of his body from all the other blasts they'd suffered. He then raised one taloned finger to his lips, and motioned to him to step away from the door. When he next spoke, he sounded less like himself and more like the one of the guard's leaders, "Mister Kapetelis, we've neutralized the intruders, but... but there's something really odd about them. I think you need to come out and see this for yourself.
  17. Okay, using the one VP left to try again to shake off Staggered condition... 21, makes it! Now he just has the three Bruises, but those only take a minute each to heal. Attempting to Bluff past the door, Bluff check is... 20, not bad.
  18. Very cool! He has +11 in Knowledge/Arcane Lore, so he can Take 10 and get a 21. Bel has no detect magic/magic awareness. A question about the Vulpes family arriving, though: Jos' shoppe has Obscure 5 (wards vs. detect magic and magic awareness, 100-ft. radius [entire shoppe/house]; Extra: Duration/Continuous; PF: Subtle), which prevents any magic from within the house from being detected outside and prevents the building itself from radiating magic. So they shouldn't have been able to detect her in the shoppe, unless they had some sort of Counters Obscure mystical sense. Or they detected her when she first walked in, and it took until now to gather the troops and 'port over. Speaking of, there is also an anti-teleport thing in effect: Nullify 4 (all Teleport effects; Extras: 100-ft. Burst Area [encompasses entire shoppe/house], Duration 3/Continuous; Flaws: Range/Touch; PFs: Progression 2 for Area, Subtle). So anyone trying to teleport in or out needs to succeed at an opposed roll vs. the Nullify.
  19. A young (and somewhat star-struck) medical examiner approached, "er, Mr. Rocket, sir, there's... well, unless you're good with identifying strange flesh- and bone-melting goo, you probably-" The young man was interrupted by an older man who walked with a cane, "Mr. Pilgrim, I am sure our armor-clad hero does not need your advice on how to do his duties. Besides, I believe you have some duties which need attending to...." The younger of the two scampered back to his work. The older man began to walk away from the others, and motioned for RRG to follow. "Sorry about that; Jimmy tends to get quite excitable when he meets one of the city's superheroes. You especially, after you'd rescued his girlfriend from that rampaging alien in Downtown Freedom back in March. Still, he needn't go wandering off, not when he still has important duties to perform, like 'bagging & tagging' evidence." "As for what more you can do, however," he said, turning to face RRG directly, "I believe you would have more luck if you searched from the ground, not above it, where the trees obscure your view. The slime trails on the trees only go up about three meters at most, so while they're hard for a person going about a normal, eyes-to-the-ground routine, they'd be impossible to spot from above the treeline."
  20. The firefighters looked to have things about a third of the way under control, though 2/3rds of the fire and smoke was still a lot of fire and smoke. And now two National Guard jeeps arrived, which quickly disgorged the eight soldiers within. Four spread out around the area, while the other four approached the bivouac where most of the superheroes were. "What's going on here?," one of the men barked.
  21. *makes edits to Malice's Knocback and Imperviousnesses*
  22. Yes, but keep in mind the bonus from Mighty is also split, not added to each.
  23. You ever going to flesh out his history, or add a Personality/Motivation or Powers/Tactics section?
  24. It'd seem the Refs missed that, too :o
  25. Also: yes, I am Sticky-ing this.
