"I'm gonna teARGH!" the demon roared as the force of the blow actually knocked him against the back of the elevator. The shot tore through the demon's shoulder and wing, and Ghost could see a blue-white light at the edges of the wound, 'eating away' at the demon's flesh, which bubbled and dribbled down in back chunks. Looks like... whoever Kapatelis got... to hallow these grounds... really knew his stuff!

The teen froze and his eyes went wide: Cale's words evidently struck a nerve. He looks around nervously, then heads for the door; once outside, Cale can see him running down the street. "Well, I am sorry to hear about your string of misfortunes, Ms. Abernathy," Terhune said as he was escorting the woman to the door. "If anyone comes here with your stolen credit cards, I will certainly let you know. Take care, now, and be sure to lock your doors!" As she left, Cale could see Terhune flip the "Open" sign on the door to "Closed," and stick a second, smaller sign (which he could not make out) in the door. Right, now to real business. "Ah, young sir, I see you were able to persuade that would-be crook to leave; splendid! Now, what was it you- ah, yes, the da Serravalle notebook."

An Amazing Bargain... but for Whom? [OOC]
Dr Archeville replied to Dr Archeville's topic in Archives
Ha! Natural 20! And Intimidate's one that is opposed... and he fails! -
The teen continue checking out the mugs, giving no indication he even acknowledges Cale's existence.

Neither of you notice or sense anything out of the ordinary.

Oooh, a screamer: I like that! I- no, wait, need to get her out of here before she does any real damage. There's a time and a place for everything.... Jos writhed a bit against the banister of the stairs, but the Woman in Red got the sense it was from pleasure, not pain! "Oooh, a screamer! Oh, madame, you are becoming more and more enticing every moment! Come upstairs," he undid another button on his shirt, "and let's see what music we can make!" He practically leapt for her and reached out to grab her by the hair.

Fortitude, eh? 23, no effect. His love will not be stopped! Technically the shattering bit would require a linked Area Damage [Limited to Crystalline Structures] effect, but for Cool Narrative Purposes I'd be willing to say things get slightly cracked; nothing is irreparably damaged, but things are 'defective'.

Is it gettin' hot in here, or is it just... wait a minute... it is getting hotter in here! Okay, clearly this woman is rather special, and so needs some special attention, away from these breakables and combustibles. This is very good, she might not break as easily as some others... okay, think, Jos, think... right, I'll try to lure her upstairs, but leave her room to leave if she chooses to. Then I can follow her later and see her at her place. Jos took a few steps back, towards the stairs which lead up to his personal living quarters. In doing so, he was no longer blocking the way out, though the door was still locked. "Oooh, you are a feisty one," he teased while undoing the top buttons of his shirt, "and with some secrets, too, it seems. Fortunately, I like it hot. Care to see how hot we can make it? My bedroom is right upstairs, and I do have some rather... entertaining artifacts up in my private collection."

Belphegor's Immunity (cold, heat) means he's completely unaffected by either Environmental Control (heat) or cold showers! 'Course, that doesn't mean he won't start taking off his clothes... On the other hand, there are items in his shoppe which would be affected by a sharp increase in temperature, so....

Free action to switch from "Internal Infernal Combustion" to Hellfire Bolt" Standard action to attack the one that shot him. Power Attacking for -5 attack/+5 damage. (And it hits!)
-
"Ohhhh," the demon roars, "you are going to pay or that, mortal!" The dark light from the demon's bones rolls up into his taloned hands, forming a ball of dark fire. Te ball grows and grows in size, until finally he releases it, slamming it into the guard which had shot him!

Avenger's group is just Phantom and Scarab, right? Dark Star, Doc, Grim and Wesley are together elsewhere, right?

And They Called Me MAD! (IC)
Dr Archeville replied to Dr Archeville's topic in Else Ifs and What Worlds
"Oh, thank you, thank you!," she cried, throwing her arms around RRG. "Um... could you... get me down from this roof? I'm not sure how to get down." -
Hrm, where'd I put that Barry White tape? And those handcuffs? Jos began slowly moving back towards the woman. He still smiled, still leered "Oh, madame, I assure you, I can be very useful. For example, I have quite a skilled tongue," which he showed off by running it over his top teeth. "Something most European men can boast to having. I'm fluent in Dutch and French." He paused, standing next to a display case showing off several fairly suggestive figurines, "French -- such a lovely language, wouldn't you agree? La langue de l'amour!"

That should get another Will save, I'd think. Ha! 22 -- his love shall go on! And on, and on, and on!

Geckoman and Quark. Thursday evening (Sept 25th, ~7:30pm), 5 days before the Delivery at Pier 18. Liberty Park, Parkside, Downtown Freedom. The moon is a waning crescent, only 15% visible. 63 degrees, 20mph NE winds; the rain has stopped for the moment, but looks like it could start back any minute. Soon the two heroes return to the Waterfront, to scope out the scene. Nothing immediately appears out of the ordinary. There are several workers still here, loading and unloading crates, but nothing looks too suspicious. Or does it? [[ Notice and Sense Motive checks, please. ]] Ember Paw & Jos Terhune. Tuesday morning (Sept 30th, around 8:00am), day of the Delivery at Pier 18. Jos's Home/Shoppe, Riverside, Downtown Freedom. "Hurm." Jos mulled Sirius' words over, and seemed to believe him. So my minion has a minion? Well, that is how most criminal empires start... right? "As long as he remembers which end of the leash he's on, I've got no complaints. Will he be joining us on our delivery run?"

Archeville skimmed over the papers -- in truth rapidly scanning every bit and committing them to his astounding memory, and mentally cross-referencing the data with his own studies -- then nonchalantly tossed them to the center of the table. "Jah, it is known dat de number of active Metahumans has been increasing over de years, dough vhy dis is so has been up for considerable debate. But if de focus of de talks here is 'vhat do ve do mit dem' or 'how do ve manage dem', mein suggestion -- as is often de case for any problem -- is increased education. Primarily for deir sake: to make sure dey know dere are other Metahumans dey can talk to, set up programs vhere newly-erupted Metahumans can safely learn to use deir abilities in constructive vays, to make sure dey don't fall through de cracks in society und turn to villainy. De Albright Institute has done an acceptable job so far, but mit de increasing numbers of Metahumans, it is not enough, especially due to legal issues dey have faced vhen trying to vork mit certain other countries. AEGIS und UNISON haff similar programs, focused on teaching Metahumans how to use deir powers in law enforcement, but dose training programs haff alvays faced more dan deir fair share of difficulties."

Woo-hoo, free Villain Points! (I've a feeling we're gonna need 'em!) EDIT: Bel's Toughness save for the one guard that successfully shot him: 21, fails by 4, so he's got a Bruise. EDIT no.2: that's actually a 22, failed by 3 (results the same), due to the increases in effect for this adventure. EDIT no.3: Since my damage was one point higher (due to higher Str which I forgot to figure in), does that affect the condition of Bel's generator? It appears to have failed its save by 9, so one more would tip it over....
-
Belphegor will activate his "Internal Infernal Combustion" power, giving him Impervious Toughness 10 (note: Sustained duration) and Penetrating Strength 7 (PFs: Accurate [+12 attack], Affects Insubstantial 2, Incurable, Takedown Attack 2) And he's diving for the generator, Power Attacking for 5 (-5 attack, +5 damage), so he'll be at +7 to hit, doing +12 damage (DC 27). Do I need to roll to hit it, or can I Take 10? Also, are the guards near enough that, if the generator "falls," he can use his Takedown Attack to attack one or both of them?
-
The dark flames still flickering along the demon's body suddenly flowed into him, and he now glowed with an eerie dark light, as if his bones now glowed with that hellish light. He roared as he dove for the generator, heedless -- at least for the moment -- of the two remaining guards. Destroy!

Bow chicka wa-wow! Since I don't know if the term is known or common in your country, FYI "pearl necklace" can be a sexual slang term. "Large goods" is also an attempt at innuendo. ;)
-
I've got some magic for ya. In my pants! Jos changed direction slightly, now moving towards the door. He still smiled at the woman, never taking his (leering) eyes off her, "Small pearl dragon? No, I do not believe I have any of those -- most of my goods are rather large. I do have some pearl necklaces that I think would look stunning on you, though...." A soft 'click' would indicate, to those with exceptional hearing, that the front door was now locked. "Now, what else was it you'd asked for? Ah, yes: magic. Well, I'm sure you and I can find some in this shoppe...."
-
"Dat," Archeville said while admiring her flowing locks, "is a very nice trick. Far more elegant dan vhat I vas going to do. Dough, please, allow me at least to carry mein own plate...." The pair are lead to the 'fancy' dining area, to one of the booths in the back. He allowed Gossamer to sit first. "So, teaching und a bit of lab vork on de side," he said after getting settled. "Sounds like a good plan; I am sure you shall find it a revarding challenge. I myself haff quite a few projects in de vorks, some of vhich vill keep me qvite busy for years to come. In fact, I predict dat in a few months I shall haff very little 'social' time, so I am very glad ve got to do dis tonight."
