  1. I finally get to use my Master Plan feat! 1d20+10 = 22 Once the plan goes into effect, we'll be at +2 on all skill checks and attack rolls for 3 rounds, then +1 for 1 round. No bonus for Avenger, since she wasn't there. (No pre-game cookie, either.)
  2. "A moment, Star," Victoria said, studying the scene. "Star, Gecko, you two focus on de Android Angels, und any other minions Otaku throws at us; your are de fastest, und Star is best at taking on groups. Vesley und I can go for Otaku himself -- Vesley's powers vould be of better use against him dan against robots, und I vould be better able to handle any last-minute high tech trickery he pulls. Remember, ve ened a sample of de original energy pulse he used on us in order for de reversal process to vork, vhich means keeping destruction of his equipment down to a minimum! Now, Avenger, you-" Victoria susdenly realized Avenger was not with them, did not wait for them, "... right, vell, dat really does not surprise me. Right, vell, she has probably already gone on ahead of us, so ve had best not lag behind!"
  3. *has an image of Dalkaresh, Exile, Scarab, Shadowmancer, and Vestige all sitting in rocking chairs at an old folks' home*
  4. And, according to all the stats for characters from the GR books, they've been doing it "our" way, too.
  5. That's what they want you to think! (Most people who know of the Shadow Academy -- and that's not many, because it is still a secret/hidden school, unlike those fools at Claremont -- think is affiliated with SHADOW. They do nothing to dissuade people of this very incorrect notion.)
  6. Did you read the Planet Hulk story in the comics? It was decent, kinda John Carter of Mars-ish. Bah!
  7. The Universe hates you all, because it prolongs your life and thus your pain, denying you the sweet release of death.
  8. "Vell, dat is somevhat of a conundrum, Herr Danger," Archeville said, floating along behind. "Shall ve... vhat? De invitations Emissary sent out vere qvite sparse, dey only said ve vould be here to 'talk about de future'... but," he chuckled, "dat is, as I am sure you can imagine, a very, very broad subject."
  9. On the one hand, Belphegor would be interested in getting in on this. A chance to corrupt some (superpowered) youths? A chance to teach the fine art of forgery? A chance to recruit some of the kids to be his own artificing coven, and help him in creating demonically-infused items? (A chance to teach art history & archaeology, possibly raising a new generation of Evil!Indiana Jones's?) Yes, please! On the other hand, the Shadow Academy is a product of the Labyrinth, which is lead by Taurus, and thus ultimately by Hades. The Greek God of the Underworld may not appreciate a JudaeoChristian demon horning in (pun intended) on his business; he is the jealous type.
  10. Not anime, but animated: Planet Hulk trailer
  11. Ah, yes, sorry. (I keep forgetting about Targeted Area.)
  12. Updated! (August 4th, 2009 is busy!)
  13. Alright, then I'm using extra effort to stunt Strike 11 (Extras: 55-ft. Burst Area) [22pp] off Bel's Demonic Powers array, and using my one Villain Point to nix the fatigue from the extra effort.
  14. I was still waiting on people's reactions on seeing Malice being brought out of the pit by Dark Star. I'm guessing that "hey, Dark Star's got Malice, a known metahuman-hating supervillain" is something Scarab would've made sure everyone in the Psychic Friends Network would've received; when Phantom and Sen dropped their rescues off at the bivouac Ace set up, they can see Dark Star & Malice there.
  15. May 1st, 2009 Going through the newspapers which accumulated in my absence, it appears that my little corner of Freedom was rocked by a rather large explosion, about a month ago. Seems that someone living here was really a Superhuman-hating tech-head with several tonnes of ammo, and an impressive battlesuit with which to unleash it. What a fall that must have been! I'd imagine that any secret identity masquerade he'd tried to maintain is shattered now, and that all his assets and properties would be seized. All he may have left is whatever parts of his suit he managed to get on when the blast went off. And I'm sure its condition has slowly deteriorated: he could probably make minor repairs with stolen equipment, or break into one of the high-tech places after hours to use their bigger gear, but there'd only be so much he could do without dedicated resources and large amounts of time. Perhaps this individual is one I can "help." The question is, how? I can think of at least two options. One it to set up some time for him in a proper repair bay (Kaars should know someone, or know someone who knows someone). The other... involves some of the demons I've met, as well as a dagger very much like the one I encountered in Marrakesh (or something similar). I'll have to research all this further. Ahhh, but wait: some of my new abilities are not yet fully tested, and I would not want to lose such a prize due to some miscalculation on my part. No, he shall not be my first. There will be others.
  16. A long-haired man in a lab coat -- whom Ace may have recognized from the newspapers -- flew over from the other side of the buffet line to greet him. "Ah, guten tag, Herr Danger! If I had known you vould be here, I vould haff brought mein request forms for more daka crystals to you, rather dan mail dem off to Danger Inc.!"
  17. Sign?! Crap... though, really, I should've expected that. Alright, let's see... if I remember correctly, if this is some sort of mystically-binding contract, then it won't have as strong an effect on me if I don't use my full name, or if I use an alias. But if so, then this device may not work as well for me as it would if I signed my full true name. "Red birds?," Jos asked, "I never much cared for birds, anyway. I am more of a cat fancier." He patted his jacket pocket, and drew forth a fancy black pen, "sign here, yes?" Jos Terhune
  18. Geckoman and Quark. Thursday evening (Sept 25th), 5 days before the Delivery at Pier 18. Liberty Park, Parkside, Downtown Freedom. The moon is a waning crescent, only 15% visible. 64 degrees, 20mph NE winds, and there's a light rain which has been pouring for the past two hours. It speaks! And... it's a moron! Jos gives Quark a "what the f-?" look, then looks back to Geckoman, "yes, well, see what you can find at the pier, and prepare for your 'stake out' for when my crates arrive on the 30th, next Tuesday, to keep it safe from the crooks who are offering my fellow shopkeeps 'protection' services. The shipment should arrive at noon, but it will take several hours for it to clear customs, so I will not be able to pick them up until later that evening, though they may hit before the shipments are cleared to be unloaded. I know there are at least three people in this gang, but they may have additional back up. If you need to contact me, here is my number." Ember Paw & Jos Terhune. Tuesday morning (Sept 30th, around 8:00am), day of the Delivery at Pier 18. Jos's Home/Shoppe, Riverside, Downtown Freedom. "The morning will be considerably better once you tell me about your little fox-friend," Jos said, getting straight to the matter. "Did he come with the book? Oh, do not worry, I am not upset: it is not that I mind, per se, my associates keeping some secrets -- it is an accepted risk of our business -- but something like this is, I think, worthy of noting on one's resume, yes?" He truly did not look angry. He looked more like a cat with (what he thought was) a cornered mouse.
  19. Belphegor glided as silently as he could towards his objective, Bunker #2, though he did occasionally have to flap his great wings to get enough lift. I could probably figure out some way to fly more quietly, like those demonic owls I saw... but then again, sometimes I want them to hear me coming! Once he reached the bunker, he stopped and hover a foot or so over the center of roof. He concentrated a moment, remembering the lessons on channeling his infernal energies he'd learned while trapped in that hell-dimension. "O, building made by mortal hearts, Burn in my flames, now - blow apart!" Belphegor's body erupted into a gigantic black screaming fireball, engulfing most (if not all) of the bunker.
  20. Need a bit of clarification: are we starting our actions this round at our respective targets, or do we need to spend a Move action to get to our target? (To put it another way, if I want to take a full round action, will I need to use Extra Effort to Surge?) If we do need to take a Move action to get to our target, then I'm using Extra Effort to stunt: Strike 11 (Extras: 55-ft. Burst Area) [22pp] If we do not need to use a Move action to move to the bunker, then I'm using Extra Effort to stunt: Corrosion 7 (Extras: 35-ft. radius Burst Area; Flaws: Action/Full Round; PFs: Progression 2 for Area [70-ft. radius]) [23pp] And in either case using a Villain Point to nix the fatigue from the extra effort.
  21. "May I ask who's-" the receptionist started to reply before she looked up and saw who it was speaking. "Oh, it's you! Of course, Mr. Glare... er, Mr. Rocket... er... I'll get him for you!" She pushed three buttons on her phone, "Sergeant Grigori? There's someone here to see you about the Promenade case. No, not a reporter... well, he might have a recording device in his suit. No, not a cheap suit, an armored one! No, it's not some knock-off, it's... well, come see for yourself!" The receptionist put he phone back on its cradle, and flashed a weak smile, "he'll be right out." Half a moment later, a young-ish man -- his outfit and movements marked him as a seasoned Police Sergeant, but his face seemed stuck in his early college years -- approached the reception area. "Oh, hey, it's you. Wondered when one of yous would come by here. Name's Grigori," he extended his hand, "Vinnie Grigori."
  22. Doktor Archeville: Eccentric (mad?!) omnidisciplinary scientist who had worked as a superhero in and around Germany for about a decade before coming back to Freedom. (Viktor Archeville, Public ID) Belphegor: Prideful, greedy, raging demon who works mostly as muscle for other mystics. Associated (in some way) with Jos Terhune, a slender Dutch man who runs a quaint little antiques shoppe in Riverside where you can find anything, for the right price. (Jos Terhune, Secret ID) Blŏzan: An ancient Spirit of Evil & Fear native to Germany; Doktor Archeville once fought it. (Tier 1) Dead Head: Speaker for the Dead, who thinks you brooding angsty types really need to lighten up. (Tier 2 [Dr Archeville]) Witchfinder: He shalt not suffer a witch (or werewolf or vampire or zombie or demon or anything remotely supernatural) to live. (Tier 1)
  23. Great Cthulhu but this is one nasty migraine that's been plaguing me all weekend. The "48-hr flu" that also hit me isn't helping, as the coughing makes the migraine feel even worse. I am feeling better, and hope to have things posted by tomorrow evening (won't make any promises for this evening).
