  1. And I'm not seeing Mighty next to his Flame Sword Strike. Nor, really, a reason why he'd use it instead of any of his other attacks.
  2. *puts on Glasses of Judgment*
  3. Welcome aboard!
  4. That's what they all say. Then a vampire orders someone's head torn off, or someone shoots an exploding arrow into an ammo dump....
  5. Observation: if the wings cannot be used as a shield while in flight, you can have Shield be an Alternate Power of Flight. Observation #2: The "Flame Sword" spell seems... odd. Without Mighty, it only does as much damage as his normal punch; the only difference is the type of damage (flame rather than bludgeoning).
  6. You can use extra effort to get a +2 on a save (so you could use it on that Nat 20 to pass the Ref save).
  7. People with an Int of 30 tend to do surprising things ;)
  8. Yes, though only b/c of the +1 from the Vulnerability. Like I said, these Power Checks test how failure is handled as well as success. And, you did do better on this part of the test than on that last one. ;)
  9. Natural 20s do not automatically pass on saving throws.
  10. That's almost a given, I think.
  11. Alright, let's say it is church-time when the asplosion occurs. Little to no loss of life, just property.

I think Malice's PL 14 build may be needing some adjustment.
  14. Also, it occurs to us that Malice/Eric may be losing more than his HQ: when the smoke clears and they trace Malice's tech to Darts, Inc, Eric may be out of a job (and thus lose some of his Benefits). (And it puts Doc into a bit of hot water, since almost a year prior he'd made a deal with Eric's company.)
  15. The IC thread says this is happening on a Sunday morning. Is that "nightclubs still operating" Sunday morning, or "people-are-at-church" Sunday morning?
  16. Sand? Is Quark coming to this?
  17. Archeville smiled at the receptionist as he walked in, "I certainly hope so! I saw your adverisetment on de television some time ago, und had been meaning to stop by und see vhat all vas going on. Of course, one ding after anozher happened, time got avay from me -- you know how dat goes -- so it is only now dat I am able to stop by. Und den," he rose up a few inches into the air, surrounded by the soft blue glow of his Gravimetric Belt, "I dought 'vhy not let meinself get tested, und get a first-hand look at vhat goes on here?'!" He descended back to the ground and leaned on the receptionist's desk, still smiling, "so, do I need to make an appointment, or... ?"
  18. Is Malice's Bunker/Home near anything? I know it's in Riverside, at 23 Sunberry Lane, but is that supposed to be near anything? (Ditko Street, the Freedom School of the Arts, Midnight Hour, the Navy & Coast Guard Piers, the Never-Ending Story, the Sentry Statue, and Curious Things are all in Riverside.)
  19. Late April or early May looks good. Nothing much happening there.
  20. The DCs are... exactly what they are listed as. Start rollin'!
  21. Correct on the number of saves, though you can do them in any order. You could do Fort-Ref-Will-tough, or Ref-Tough-Fort-Will, or Will-Fort-Ref-Tough, or whatever. The +1 DC from the Vulnerability is already figured in.
  22. STAGE TWO This stage will test Knievel's ability to resist attacks which take advantage of his vulnerability to electricity. This one's a tad more complicated than the last. Each part consists of attacks aimed at all four saves: an Electrical Blast (Toughness), a TASER/Stun (Fortitude), an Area Electrical Blast effect (Reflex/Toughness; maybe a Ball Lightnin/Burst deal, maybe a blue Dragon's Breath/Line deal), and a "Scrambled Brain's Electrical Impulse" Confuse effect (Will). Three attempts to pass each save in each part; the attackers are actually attacking more than three times, but we're just using these three as a sample. As before, fell free to describe the attacks and attackers as you will; maybe they're Kremzeek-like electricity elements, maybe it's Captain Thunder or Bolt or Dr. Stratos, or Dr. Archeville ( ). Again, extra effort can be used at any time, the effect will remain until the end of the stage. An HP can be spent at anytime, though it will be gone for the rest of the thread. Your damage/health condition will reset after each save attempt so that you are never at a negative when rolling, unless you want to be. Part 1 -- DC 14 Toughness/Fort, DC 13 Ref/Will Part 2 -- DC 19 Toughness/Fort, DC 18 Ref/Will Part 3 -- DC 24 Toughness/Fort, DC 23 Ref/Will Part 4 -- DC 29 Toughness/Fort, DC 28 Ref/Will
  23. As Knievel screamed, the pair disappeared, and the lighted path they were on faded. Half a moment later -- just long enough for Knievel to register that he was in total, utter darkness -- the door opened, the light streaming in offering some relief. Back outside the chamber, Knievel found a chair and a table covered with refreshments, just as Legend said there would be. The food and refreshments were everything that the man found enjoyable to refresh himself. In addition, the chair was just the right size to let the him either recline or sit up straight as he desired. All in all, it was just what he needed to regain his strength. After grabbing a few drinks, scarfing a few donuts, and wondering just what he'd gotten himself into, he approached another door, which opened with a rusty creeeaaak. As he entered, Legend's odd voice rang out. "Dere are dose who say dat de dings you haff done are shocking. Und dere are dose who say dat de dings ve do to others are vhat ve fear vill happen to us. Your gear, hastily constructed as it vas, is not a vell-shielded as it could be, und as a result you are more susceptible to electrical assaults. Here, you shall test your resolve in de face of such assaults, und see how vell you fare."
  24. Following the events of this thread, Captain Knievel's long reign of terror was ended and he has been arrested. His trial shall be on March 25th (a Wednesday). Obviously, Captain Knievel will be in it. Arrowhawk, Dark Star, and Dr. Archeville would probably be in it -- they did stop the man, so even if they're not preset as witnesses or such, they could still be hanging around to make sure it all goes well. (Doc will definitely be there, but I can't speak for Arrowhawk or Dark Star.) Malice might be present, either in civilian disguise or in armor, to break his pseudo-ally out. Or to laugh at him for being so careless. (The trial is happening four days before Malice's house asplodes.) I'd be fine with handling up to six characters (well, seven, including Doc), so who else wants in?
  25. ... you get three tries for each part, man.
