Especially since Knievel might be in jail when this is happening....

"Well... the thought occurs that we could split up, you go over the all here and sneak around the back, I go through the front and bluff my way in. We could meet in the mid-" He cut himself off, "wait, no, that will not work: we have no way to easily contact each other." He fumbled through his pockets for a bit, and pulled out a cell phone. It was red. "No guarantee how strong a signal we will get out here, or if there is some sort of jammer in there." I really do need to find some way to expand my more mystical abilities. Especially since so many heroes here outclass me physically. Terhune rolled his head around, cracking his neck, "probably best if we both go in. Say we are... well, not plumbers, that's a bit too cliched, but..." he paused, looking over Ghost and himself, trying to think what bluff would work best given how they were currently dressed, "well, lost tourists is the only thing coming to mind. Say e got separated form our tour group, we have been wandering for hours, ask to use a phone and restroom." He stretched again, "oh, and it does not take long for me to shed this skin-suit. Though long enough, unfortunately, that I could be caught unawares midway through."

Archeville was silent for what seemed like an eternity. "I vould say," he finally replied, "dat dis is not a decision I, alone, can make. Dis is someding dat should be handled by de Freedom League. Mein ego und pride are not such dat I vould presume to speak for de vorld, much less de entire dimension!".

That's correct. And since we don't know when Shaen's returning, go ahead and post, Razor. -
That depends: what are you trying to model?

Such bad habits Knievel's picked up in jail! ;)

"True, but a splinter can kill just as vell, if in de right place," Archeville replied. "Your idea does sound meritorious, Herr Odysseus," he said as he rose to maintain eye level with the visitor, "but... vell, vhat assurance do ve haff dat you are who you claim to be? For all I know, you could very well be an agent of Omega, attempting to lure either me or several of dis vorld's heroes into a trap. Or you could merely be here to test us, see how far ve haff come since de last Invasion, sizing us up for an upcoming assault."

And it's all Ecal's fault!

.... dang, I was mistaken, Taking 10 he actually has 0 chance of seeing you  Toughness save... fails by 14,so he's staggered & stunned. (If he'd failed by 1 more, he would've been KO'd). 'Course, now that you've let go of Vulture in order to smack Shark, Vulture's now free (though still staggered and with two bruises). What will he do? I'll let you know after I hear from Scarab and Slamdance. (Or at least Slamdance.) EDIT: This has been going on long enough (out-of-game; in-game it's only been 30 seconds), I'll fiat and say Avenger did realize Shark didn't see him, did power attack for one, and Shark's now KO'd. -
Lemme chat with the other Refs before y'all move on with this.

Ghost's keen ears easily heard Jos approach the blind spot, though it seemed no one and nothing else did. I still have no idea what these- whoa. I do know what these are! Jos stoked his chin with his left hand as he examined the runes, tilting his head this way and that, then finally spoke. "I do believe they are 'Screw You' Runes. Specifically, they ward against mystical intrusions, such as teleportation or certain forms of intangibility. Good for keeping ghosts out...." He smirked when he realized the pun he'd made. Then his smirk turned into a sneer. "And it is not just this wall: the protection extends to everything enclosed within it, which means we would be equally limited within the house as well. And as if that were not enough, Kapetelis somehow arranged for the entire grounds to be hallowed. Not enough to cause me damage while on it -- there are some advantages of wearing you mortals like a suit -- but enough that combat shall be more... intense for me." I've never had knowledge like that pop into my head before. How did that happen? Is the demon that was fused to me trying to enhance my mind as well as my body? Dammit, this is a fine time for something like this to pop up, I need to be focusing on the tasks at hand! Terhune spat to one side, "if not for this geas, I would be asking for hazard pay."

Do you want to just fast forward to the meeting with Sirirus's folks?

Speaking of Quark... isn't it his turn?

You left out the most important part: "And then he fired an exploding arrow into it." My initial thought is to have it as a Damage Explosion, at a rank equal to the highest damage Malice can possibly do (figuring in things like Power Attack, Autofire, and +2 for 'Extra Effort'). Which'd be... 12 for his "Second Amendment" Mini-Gun, +5 for Autofire, +5 for Power Attack, +2 for 'Extra Effort', equals... 24, with a total blast radius of 240 feet. How far from the center of the explosion are the walls of his bunker? If the core of the explosion is within 10 feet of a wall, the walls toughness save (25, +15 and taking 10) fails the damage save by 14 (Damage 24 = DC 39), making that section of wall "disabled" (holes punched through). Actually, any Bunker wall within 40 feet of the center of the explosion will be disabled. And if enough Bunker walls get disabled, more of the house may start collapsing.... More importantly, how far are Malice and Arrowhawk from the center of explosion? This'd probably bring several other heroes out. Malice's Home/Depot is in Riverside-Downtown Freedom, right?

Life's a show and we all play our parts And when the music starts We open up our hearts FC:PbP is offering the community another "vignette" opportunity. If you'd like to read about our New Years Vignette exercise look here and here; info on our July 4th vignette can be found here, and on the Bloody Valentine/Friday the 13th one here. If you weren't around in those days (or even if you were), keep reading to find out more! The Maestro has enacted his most diabolical scheme ever! Acting in concert with Medea, the Conductor of Crime has found a way to force people... to sing! And not just sing, but to sing about themselves and their secrets! The duo plans to use their newfound knowledge to blackmail certain wealthy and influential members of the city. Daedalus, Johnny Rocket, Seven and Sonic will stop them... but not before a large pulse of the mind-manipulating melody goes off, hitting several PCs throughout the city. Who: Any player who is interested, for one or both of their characters. Plus any back up singers or chorus. What: Write a song for your character. The song must in some way define the character, and reveal some hidden secret. You're free to base it off some existing tune, but if you do, please let us know what that tune is. When: The deadline for submissions will be Tuesday, June 30th by 11:59 PM EST (GMT -5). Where: Your "performance" can take place anywhere in Freedom City; if you do not want your PC's secret being revealed, have the musical interlude happen in a secluded place, such as your own HQ. When you submit your vignette, please make a note clearly indicating in which forum it should be posted, as well as when it would be happening. Why: To enhance our community, to flex your writing muscles, to think more deeply about your character, and to earn a bonus PP for your character for the month of June. How: Once your story is finished and proofed, PM it to one of the Refs (Ecalsneerg, MarkK, MBCE, Sandman XI, or myself). When all the stories are in, one of our staff members will post them to the appropriate forums (which is why we need you to be sure to tell us where it should go!), and provide links to them in this thread. DO NOT post them in a forum yourself, otherwise it will not be counted for this exercise. Post here with questions.

I recently saw Wonder Woman. Pretty good. Their take on Hades was, AFAIK, very different from how he's portrayed in any other DC work (comic or 'toon)... but it worked! The scene where the dead Amazons rise up and fight (especially ragdoll-ish Alexa) are exactly how Dead Head would fight ;)

That's where I got "my" interpretation from, from what Kenson's said. He's said PL caps are "Hard" caps, meaning you cannot take something and just "not use it." It is... and it isn't. Yeah, they can choose not to use Sneak Attack, just like you can choose not to use Power Attack or any other feat... but the fact it can be used to bump Damage means it can't be had if using it would break PL caps.

Triple Murder in Riderside, Rebooted [OOC]

... yes, b/c as I have stated before, his Notice is not so low/your Stealth so high that he has absolutely 0 chance of seeing you. It's a slim chance, yes, but it is a chance. If you take him by surprise, then, yes, he'd be flat-footed -- that' what "taking by surprise" means. But if his Notice check beats your Stealth check, you don't take him by surprise... hence my request for a Stealth check. Not quite: catching someone by surprise/making a surprise attack means they're flat-footed (lose Dodge bonus to defense) and suffer an additional -2 to Defense. Which I would be figuring in, so I don't need you adding to your attack :P -
You could look to other Tests to see how they've been done Keep doin' what you're doing. People/things will appear and disappear as needed. It's a funny place ;)

Correct. Just like the Core rules state that someone who wanted to play a char with so much Attractive that they turned heads better than She-Hulk and Power Girl combined could not have maxed Bluff or Diplomacy. Or how a PL 10 char with no trade-offs who is ridiculously skilled in sneak attacks (Sneak Attack 4, for +5 damage) cannot carry around/use a blaster rifle (Blast 8, which would be 13 w/ Sneak Attack). If you don't wanna be a golddigger, then... don't be a golddigger. :P

2 tasty pps for Belphegor. 1 for the Artificer feat. 1 for 4 skill ranks -- 1 in Craft/Artistic, and 3 in Craft/Structural. Craft (artistic) 6 (+7) Craft (structural) 3 (+4) Doc's 4 pp shall remain unspent... for now. Done by Sandman XI

Is that a regular attack? Power Attack? (You appear to have listed a +13 to hit, but that's not Avenger's melee attack modifier, that'd be his Power Attack Grapple modifier.) You'll need to make another Stealth check if you want to Sneak Attack. -
And now it appears to be back up :)
