Archeville tilted his head, as if both nodding and shaking his head simultaneously, "I vas not present for de Invasion itself, but I am qvite familiar mit it. Secondhand recounts are a poor substitute for firsthand experience, but it should be enough for us to aid you, Herr... Odysseus, vas it?"

"Ach! Time flies vhen you haff fun, ja?," he said, slipping back into his exaggerated German accent. "Ja, I vould very much like to collaborate mit you on further projekts. But for now," he paused to stretch a bit, "I must get back to mein laboratory." He headed towards the portal, stopping when halfway through to turn back to Quark, "Auf wiedersehen!" And then he was gone, flying back to his home in Hanover. ~fin~

Because PL caps are "hard" caps -- you can't have ranks in something and just 'not use them.'

PP Awards for May 2009 -- ALL SHOULD READ
Dr Archeville replied to Dr Archeville's topic in Archives
I only counted 10: 1 in Welcome to the Modern World, 2 in the HIT Lecture, 3 in A Long Time Coming, and 4 in Power Check. What'd I miss? Requests for Character Edits go in the Char Edit Request thread ;) -
Sorry to hear that, Kavos. Hope things go smoothly & that you're able to get back on more regularly in the near future. Welcome back, Moira!

Thanks, everyone! :)

Archeville stroked his chin, "it vould be rude of me to turn avay someone who has clearly come qvite far to see me." He gestured downwards, towards his home, "come, let us meet on de patio. Most of mein neighbors are at deir jobs or avay on vacation, so ve should be able to speak in de open mitout too much interruption, enough for you to explain yourself before I decided vhether or not I vill allow you into mein home."

That's not what I'm suggesting. I'm not saying "Weakness to Daka Crystals = Weakness to Super-Science Devices." I am saying "Weakness to Daka Crystals = Should feel a bit queasy around some Super-Science Devices, and Weakness could kick in if those Devices are broken open and the crystals exposed, though given the high Toughness of Devices [10 + Device rank] that's still not gonna be terribly common." Your other points seem a tad odd, since, as a Ref/Global Mod, they're exactly the sort of thing you should be enforcing/looking out for, and doing yourself in order to set a good example for other players.

A fairly slow month; I blame the school systems, with their "final exams" and "graduations" and such. The posts have been counted, and pps awarded/char sheets updated (to all except my characters). Any sort of accent on the guy?

How many times has his Weakness to Daka crystals come up in your nineteen months on this board? Or his Vulnerability to Orichalcum weapons? Or his "hyperadvanced composition makes medical treatment and conventional repair near impossible" Disability? I admit I've not read every thread on the board, but I haven't seen any of those come up, which means you effectively got 10pp for free. Which is a tad unfair.

Configuring Gadgets for Communication 2 (100 feet, radio/gravitic pulse; PF: Subtle) [3pp] Communication 2 (100 feet, audio/'directed loudspeaker') [2pp] Though it's not yet been added to his sheet, I would think Doc could -- given his Wealth and background -- have a Commlink (Super-Senses/radio) as 'free' Equipment, so he can hear radio transmissions.

Archeville was surrounded in a light blue glow as his belt activated and allowed him to fly out of the laboratory and out towards an exit. "Dat's not Daedalus," he called back to Dark Star, "und I haff no idea vhat he vants. But your accompaniment vould be appreciated nonetheless. In particular, I could use a detailed scan of him, if you do not mind. Keep in touch via gravitic pulse." Very soon, they were both hovering in the skies of Hanover, about 100 feet from him. Archeville placed his electromagnetic screwdriver to his throat, which was set in a way that it greatly amplified his voice, "Who are you, und vhat do you vant?"
-
They'd be contained/shielded (like I said, not setting off his Weakness every time they walk by one another).

I keep meaning to bring this up: Emissary's got a weakness to Daka Crystals. Daka Crystals have "unique properties, making them useful in any number of super-science devices, including weapons, force shields, teleporters, and dimensional gates" and can "serve as focusing agents for a variety of forces." They're more likely than not used in Doc's gravity belt and electromagnetic screwdriver. I'm not saying being around Doc should trigger Emissary's Weakness, but he may feel a bit 'tingly' around him.

It can't really act independently of him. Well, it could, I guess, if I had it do a Summon power... but it probably couldn't be smart/skilled enough. Surging to gain an extra standard action is the closest I can think of to "doing two things at once." That, or calling Quark over. ;)

I was waiting to see how Dark Star reacted to this! :P

A few questions for when I write my post: * When Doc calls out to his computer, is there one? Is it replaced with some sort of air spirit or bound daemon or somesuch? * Doc's Devices: are they also changed in appearance? His not-Sonic Screwdriver a magic wand, and his Gravity Belt a.... well, that could still be a belt, I suppose.

Avenger feels something warm and wet in Vulture. He thinks it's his kidneys. Realizing this, he stops just short of doing any serious damage to him. Scarab is temporarily stunned by the bone-numbing cold of the point-blank blast Fox's freeze-rifle, but she shakes it off. She concentrates on Shark's Sharks, and though he puys up some respectable resistance, they fade out of existence like a fine mist. Slamdance is still stunned from having seen and felt a shark bite into and savage his shoulder. The great swarm of hell-wasps dissolves in thousands of tiny puffs of brimstone. Shark lost sign of Avenger, and then loses his Sharks. Surprsingly, he slumps tot he ground, sobbing, "My... my babies...." Vulture continues to be limp in Avenger's arms.. Fox, upon seeing both his associates are apparently down, begins to fade form sight. "This isn't over, you witch!" And then he was gone, from sight and from Scarab's mental senses.

Okay, it's been over two weeks since the last IC post, and we know what Scarab's doing, so I'm moving ahead. -
Can Doc do that? With a penalty on his check? Or is this a "must have an assistant" deal?

HIT Science & Engineering Lecture Series, v.2 [OOC]
Dr Archeville replied to Dr Archeville's topic in Archives
It is indeed. Though I think he's in the middle of finishing up some exams. -
That's why I'm leaning towards the "switch char sheets" method. ;)
