Victoria pinched the bridge of her nose, "Avenger shall investigate some of de tech supply companies from de list I just gave her. Otaku may haff obtained materials from dem, und dose may give us a better lead on vhere he is und on how he did dis to us. Vesley...." Victoria stared at Wesley for a moment, as if transfixed by a beautiful painting. "I dink your talents vould best be utilized by staying here mit me und assisting me in developing a remedy."

"Hrm, perhaps later, Mister Vulpes -- I do believe there is another customer coming in behind you. Good morning!" he called to the newcomer, a young woman Sirius had seen come in last week. "If you could help her while I finish up with Mr. Knight here," he asked/ordered while wrapping an antique pen for the pale, dark-haired man at the counter. After about 30 minutes, there was a lull in activity, and Terhun pulled Vulpes aside. "So, did I miss anything while I was away? The shoppe seems to still be in one piece, so it appears you did not do too badly in my absence." And did your fox-friend come by any?

Archeville walked over to Cale, and placed one hand on his shoulder, "I know that, Darian. It is something I have fought every waking moment of the past fifteen years or of my life, with... varying degrees of success. I had hoped your suit would not mimic that aspect of my mind, but it seems you did perhaps too good a job." Wait... was Archeville speaking English? Perfect, un-accented English? Had Cale truly gone mad?! "No, Mister Cale, you are not hearing things," he said with a bit of a chuckle. "I am entirely capable of speaking with as much accent as a native of Pennsylvania. I just use the accent as part of my... image, I suppose you could say. Scientists tend to face harsh prejudices in some places, and German scientists especially so, but paradoxically the accent seems to put some folks at ease. They see I am not trying to hide my German roots, and that I try to be as open and above-board as I can, and that makes me more... palatable. Not to everyone, of course, but to enough people."

Black, red and gold = colors of the flag of Germany. And after I finished the description of that armor, I was more than a bit impressed. ;)

Power Check - Captain Knievel
Dr Archeville replied to Dr Archeville's topic in Rivers, Lakes and Oceans
When Knievel first catches sight of the man on the abandoned oil rig known as The Arena, he at first thought it was Malice. It was an armored figure, and the silhouette of the armor matched that of Malice exactly. From a distance, the colors appeared the same, too. Up close, Knievel noted several differences. First, while the structure of the armor matched that of Malice -- all the plating and piping and whatnot was exactly as Knievel remembered it -- the coloration was more than a bit off. Rather than red, white and blue, it was black, red and gold, though the stars and stripes motif remained (black helmet with red faceplate, chestplate was black with a red star, gauntlets and boots were black, and the arms, torso and legs had red and gold bands/stripes). Tracing over the entire suit were a maze of fine lines and circles, glowing a faint light blue, very similar to the 'circuitry' covering the Gravimetric Belt worn by Dr. Archeville. Then he spoke, in Malice's voice, but with the accent and verbal tics of Doktor Archeville. "I did indeed call you, Captain Rog- er, Captain Knievel. I haff noticed your... extreme activities in de city of Freedom, und de chaos it causes, und de opposition you face as a result of dis." "You may call me Legend, und I am the, shall ve say, majordomo of dis Arena. I did not set it up, but I do look after it, und its guests." Legend gestures to the side, away from the main entrance that most of the villains use when visiting the Arena, to a lone door. "I believe I can help you realize your true untapped potential, to test you in vays even you haff not imagined. Dis vill not be easy, of course -- it takes hot fires to forge strong steel, und as much can be learned from failure as from success." "Of course, you could refuse -- I offer you this aid, I do not force it. Naturally, a refusal vould mean you vill most likely never know just how far you truly can go, und sooner or later you vill be captured, either by some costumed do-gooder or by time itself. Neither vould be a fitting end to de great Captain Knievel, vould dey?" Two scenes suddenly played out in Knievel's mind. One was of Knievel beaten and captured, stripped of everything he had, and thrown into solitary confinement, away from anyone, his only contact with the outside world being the robot drone that brought him his food twice a day. The second was of a painfully decrepit Taylor Rogers, barely able to move from his bed, his body ravaged by the extreme toll which had been put on it. "So... are you game?" -
So do we just close this, and start a rebooted thread (like I did with Triple Murder in Riverside)?
-
Alright, Kavos, question: what was Sirius Vulpes doing for the two months Jos was gone? How did he run the shoppe? Did he rummage through Jos's stuff?
-
While working on these, it seems I made an error when calculating his totlas: he doesn't have 9pp free, he only had 5. I've edited in everything except the Enhanced Con & Str. (Also you need to determine what sense his Uncanny Dodge works off of.)
-
Not quite: Perception Area effects don't allow a Reflex save to reduce the effect. Also, why is his ability to inflict any emotion more powerful than his ability to inflict love? Shouldn't it be the other way around?
-
Ditto ditto!
-
We wouldn't even need a true reboot, I'd think, just have Daedalus or Emissary pipe in and start steering the conversation.
-
Hunh, he is good, I probably would've missed all of those cameras. Maybe this team-up is a good idea. Jos was quiet as they approached the house and studied the wall. He did study them, mostly, but also gave his partner a look over, trying to assess how Sammy handled himself on the job. When they moved, and Sammy pointed out the 'glinting runes' he spied, Jos tried to take a look but could not even make them out. "Pft, with these weak human eyes? It's a wonder you've managed to survive the nights as long as you have."

Hanover is the most likely place a hi-tech villain would hit.

Let's go with.... June 5th, 2009 (a Friday).
-
I'll make it easy for you: Respect = Good, Dickery = Bad.
-
I'm liking the sound of this. ;)
-
It appears Jos knows nothing (I got a 2!). Doesn't mean he's not gonna lie his butt off about it, though Bluff will be... 12
-
It's a prairie dog, not a chipmunk. ;)
-
That's not exactly what I meant when I asked for more info. What sort of character is this? Who/what/why is he? If it's someone who's kinda respectful and reserved, it would probably be allowed (with the caveat that any Devices he transforms will be back to normal after that thread ends). If he's more like, say, an alcoholic teen with severe mental problems, then probably not.
-
Cameras: 16, fail Wall: Auto-fail (best he can get is 25) Weird Feeling: 21, blackjack ;)
-
Ecal, you still around for this?
-
Sorry, I was sure I'd responded to this already! Yes, no Limit Shapeshift would let her do Talking Animals and Dancing Candlesticks with no problem. Yes, you can shift around physical attribute scores, in any form. Changeling Form: Good. Goblin Form: Good (and creepy) Ogress & Sprite Forms: Good, though you should list what changes the Growth and Shrinking do.

"The bigger the wall, the bigger the treasure," Jos said as he drove past the house. If not for you, I'd just fly over, break in and take it... but, in hindsight, that sort of thinking is what got me into this very situation, so I'll let you call the shots. For now. "So, how do you want to do this?," he asked. "Park far away, sneak up under cover of darkness, and break in? Or pull right up in the driveway and introduce ourselves as animal control responding to reports of a rabid creature, then subdue him and force him to tell us where the coin is?"
-
Possibly. More info, man!
-
If it's the invasion I think you're referring to, let me finish running it by the other Refs first. (Shouldn't be any problem, I just like to make sure all the Refs are on the same page.)
