At the time this thread was started, Doc was still PL 11 (he crossed to PL 12 a few days after this began). [*:3hycxqcs]While Cloaked, his Toughness is +11 (Imp 4). His knockback is -7. [*:3hycxqcs]With his Full-Power Force Field, his Tougnhess would be +14 (Imp 11). His knockback would be -12. [*:3hycxqcs]His Perform (Oratory) is 7 points lower. His sense Motive is 4 points lower. His Bluff, Craft (chemical), Diplomacy, Disable Device, and Knowledge (behavioral sciences) are all 3 points lower. His Craft (electrical), Craft (mechanical), Knowledge (physical sciences), and Knowledge (technology) are all 1 point lower. [*:3hycxqcs]He does not have the Fascinate (Perform [Oratory]) feat. [*:3hycxqcs]He doesn't have Enhanced Wis, but it's a free action for him to switch between Enhanced Int or Enhanced Cha. Move Acton to bring Bomb #1 down to rest next to Bomb #2. Free action to switch from Flight to Teleport (so now has Teleport 5 [500 ft./5 miles; PFs: Change Direction, Change Velocity]) Standard Action to reconfigure Electromagnetic Screwdriver Free action to switch from Cloaked Field to Full Power Force Field.

The levitating device drifted down until it lay next to its brother. A moment later, Doktor Archeville appeared, though not before he had made some adjustments to his Electromagnetic Screwdriver -- adjustments which would enhance certain aspects of his Gravimetric Belt -- and clipped the two devices together. "Good day, gentlemen. You vouldn't be interested in telling me vhat dese large beeping, flashing devices are, vould you? I dink dey are, very soon, going to do vhatever it is dey are going to do."

Rampage - Josh - PL 12 (tier 2 npc)
Dr Archeville replied to Thejoshie's topic in Archived Characters
Your Defense has almost nothing to do with how often you're hit with a crit. The only thing which influences that is the attacker's luck with his dice (i.e., how often he rolls a 20), and whether or not he has any Improved Crit (which is actually very rare, and house rules here are you can only have 2 ranks of it anyway, so at best it becomes "how often he can roll 18+"). Also, how long after the crit would he be 'open' to mental attacks? -
There's an Elseworlds story (In Darkest Knight) where Bruce Wayne got a GL Ring instead of Hal Jordan. And I think part of the Armageddon 2001 story showed Superman briefly with a GL Ring. The Blackest Night storyline is going to introduce Black Lantern Ring, given to/worn by dead folks. If Solomon Grundy doesn't get one, I'll be disappointed. Because Solomon Grundy with a GL (er, BL) Ring is too horrible not to do. ;)

My wife's grandmother passed away today. Will be absent some as arrangements are made.

Or Penetrating. Or Alt Save attacks. I liked Taliesin's take, where the Ring has some mid-ranked powers, and the GL him/her/itself had [Will]Power Reserve to pump the abilities u, and bought the Dynamic PF to represent an individuals' ability to better mix-and-match effects.

Sandman XI (Silver) - Quark - PL13 Hero (NPC Tier 2)
Dr Archeville replied to Sandman XI's topic in Archived Characters
All seem fine for a Technomage... except the Spellbook, which seems like something a more traditional mage would do. Plus, there's the cheese factor of having ao much Accurate in there. And, in a way, using a VP to make an Array isn't so different form having a VP in an Array. -
It asplodes. Make a DC 20 Toughness save for the acidic aura. Just edit the existing post. ;)

Hunh.... Protection # (Extras: Impervious, Reflective [ranged]) 3pp/rank Reflected attack automatically hits. Deflect # (all ranged; Extra: Reflection) 4pp/rank Reflected attack requires attack roll to hit. The former seems a far better deal, especially since it also provides Impervious Protection against all attacks. Am I missing something?

Was it ever decided when this is taking place?

So what will you be doing with his Empowerment? List... oh... say, five to ten examples. -
Archeville's mind was racing, and he almost didn't notice the odd construction of the "elevator" until he'd stepped on the platform. "So dat's how de pyramids vere built: elevators!"

So... with Moira's recent (and hopefully temporary) departure, does that put the Dark Star/Emissary team up on a front burner? -
No, we're all just very busy.

When the room stopped spinning and Hellbound could tell up from down again, he found he was propped up against the dais in the middle of the gym, with a half-empty (or half-full?) glass of water by his hand. Doc was checking him over with some sort of scanner, and murmuring to himself. "Ah, fully back now, ja? Good!" he exclaimed. Beyond Doc, Hellbound could make out some robots going in and out of the chamber he'd been in. Two carried hoses. Three carried buckets. He also realized that he was no longer wearing his shirt; looking around he saw two other robots working on it. "I haff good news, und... vell, very good news, I suppose," he continued, clearly excited, "de tests show no sign of brain damage, but more amazingly, it showed dat your body actually altered itself in response to de negative stimuli. You vere adapting to de dangers! De adaptations faded as soon as de stimuli vere gone, und since it happened so fast dere is little I could tell for sure about dem, but... vell, first off, has dis ever happeend to you before?"

Triple Murder in Riderside, Rebooted [OOC]

I'd meant you'd be making the Notice check next round, when you make your attack (to see if you wind up hitting Shark-Prime or a Shark-Mook)... but, meh. -
Time passes. Jos Terhune & Sirius Vulpes met on the night of September 4th, 2008. Their alternate identities, Belphegor and Ember Paw, met two nights later. On September 22nd, Terhune completed the transactions necessary to become the owner of a two-story home in Riverside, as well as the licenses and permits needed to renovate the building and operate a business out of it. Seven days later, on the 29th, Terhune received a shipment from his homeland at Pier 18. Though it was almost intercepted by masked super-crooks, Terhune's shipments arrived safely due to some superhero-centric precautions he had taken. Throughout October, Terhune and Vulpes worked to renovate the home into a shoppe, though the top floor was left as an apartment for Terhune to inhabit. During this time, Terhune admitted to Vulpes that most of what they would be selling were forgeries and reproductions, though most were blatant reproductions since folks expected most items in a small shoppe like this to be reproductions. Once a week or so Terhune would make a really good forgery, and stick it in amongst the other merchandise, to fool those who came to places like this on the hope they'd find "that one real, authentic item and buy it for a song." If they ever came back to complain, he could claim ignorance, that he had been fooled as they had. On November 10th, 2008, Terhune's shoppe -- Curious Things -- had its grand opening. Business wasn't booming, it was more a trickle, but it was a steady trickle which slowly swelled. By mid-December the store was quite busy, as last-minute shoppers came seeking unique knick-knacks and gewgaws. On January 21st, Terhune told Vulpes he had some private business to attend to, and would be gone for a few days; in the meantime, he was in charge of the shoppe. When Terhune returned, he had several pieces of art with him, including several old coins. On February 5th, Terhune did not show up for work. He didn't show up the next day, or the next, nor was there any word from him or from any of his contacts. This intrigued Vulpes, since Terhune had (in his time knowing the man) never done that. On the third days, Vulpes found a sealed envelope under the cash register, addressed to him. A week, two weeks, a month goes by, and still there is no sign whatsoever of Terhune.

"I am sure I haff no idea vhat you are talking about, Herr Faretti." he murmured back, followed by a knowing wink. He quickly resumed his normal voice, "oh, I don't know about de finest, und I am sure you could easily best me vere you to choose de style of dance! Or any style, had you de proper training."
