  1. Immunity and Regeneration are Permanent powers. They can't be in an Array/have Alternate Powers stunted off them.
  2. "Well," he started, "we could simply go to his house. If he is there, we ask him for it; if he is not, we ransack the place until he does come back, then ask him for it." Surely there'll be some valuables there. The demon-that-looked-like-a-man glanced again at the phone book, setting George Kapatelis's address to memory, then slammed the book shut. "As for how we get there: I have a rental car I have been using while in this form. It is nothing special, which is exactly why I chose it. Or I could fly us there, which is more direct, but also far more visible. Do you have anything?"
  3. I don't think Ghost knows Bel's human name. Bel knows Ghost's real name b/c he overheard it when Sammy was captured and they went through his wallet (though based on how he keeps mispronouncing it, he clearly didn't hear it correctly), but I don't think Bel's true name was ever mentioned.
  4. "Dance, Herr Faretti? Dat is an interesting challenge," he said said as he moved towards the center of the room. His voice rose a bit as he spoke, and others began to move aside to give them room. "A dance contest, Herr Faretti, between you und I? Oh, I don't know -- I'm not sure anyvon here vould be interested in seeing me dance...." The small group of musicians stopped in mid-song as a few of the attendees clapped or cheered. They were soon joined by more and more, until a sizable portion were calling for a dance-off. Elena could easily pick up that most were thinking something along the lines of This will either be Really Awesome or Really Funny. Or both. "Vell, it seems I must bow to de reqvests of de crowd. Ve vil need judges, of course. Let's see..." Archeville looked over the crowd, and gave an ever-so-slight wink to Elena. "You, und... you, und.... you." The first person he chose was a heavyset black man in a "casual formal" outfit, the second was Elena, and the third was a very stuffy-looking Englishman who'd seemed largely bored all evening. "Vould you mind judging for us?" "Of course, ve vill be needing partners," he said with a smirk. He looked around again, and saw the redhead he'd been chatting with earlier, "Ah, madame: vould you do me de honor?"
  5. Yeah, go ahead and do the Immunity I spelled out, and edit as needed. Some form of Obstacle Course will be next ;)
  6. Wil Wheaton offers sound advice for Dungeon Mastering
  7. I'm having some trouble deciding on what to do for the next two Stages, since... well, since there's so little to Hellbound aside from "he's a brawler." Suggestions?
  8. Oh? What Immunities did he get in that thread?
  9. After this fight, as I usually dislike having characters suddenly develop new traits in the middle of a combat.
  10. It would indeed, but I won't let you get full Immunity (since this is the first time doing this; crawling before walking). Instead I would allow: Your Fort save modifier would go down by 5 points (since you won't be getting the benefit of your Enhanced Con 10), but the DC modifiers would be halved (so for Part 3 it's DC 15, and for Part 4 it's DC 18). So for part 3, you'd have 1 Ref failure, 1 Fort failure, and 1 Will failure. (1 less Ref failure than usual.) For Part 4, you'd have 2 Ref failures, 1 Fort failure, and 2 Will failures. (1 less Will failure.) These tests are about how you handle failure as much as how you handle success.
  11. "I have no idea who this man is," he replied, "but I do know of one tome of lore which may aid us in locating him." Kapetelis... sounds Greek. Wonder if he has any other valuables? The demon-that-looked-like-a-man looked around Ghost's apartment, then walked towards a desk and picked up Ghost's phone book. "Kapetelis... Kapetelis... Kapetelis...."
  12. Archeville looked at Avenger for a moment, blinking, and settled down a bit. "Avenger?" She looked around and finally seemed to notice Geckolass, Hellbroad, White Star, and Wesley Knighte. She stared at each for a moment, then looked back to Avenger. "Vell... dis is a fine mess ve're in. Vesley?!" she called out while pulling out her Electromagnetic Lipstick (and looking quite perplexed at its altered appearance), "haff you tried changing yourself back?"
  13. STAGE THREE A test of his Reflex, Fort, and Will saves. Again, three tires for each per part (so you'll be making 24 saves total). Part 1: DC 10 Part 2: DC 15 Part 3: DC 20 Part 4: DC 25 The Reflex & Fort save is for a Visual Dazzle. The Will is a Nauseate effect.
  14. As Archeville worked he tried to get one of the robots to collect some samples of Hellbound's blood (either catching it as it fell or scraping it off the floor), but all their collecting equipment melted when they tried. He made a mental note to find some other way to collect it. "Vell, I am concerned about lasting neurological damage from dat blow," he said while finishing his exam. He rose up and began gliding towards another part of the gym, "if you vould follow me, please." He stopped at what looked like a thick 12-sided pillar with assorted monitors and controls set into every other side/wall. He pressed one of the plain sides, and it swung open, revealing that inside was reclining chair, and that the interior 'walls' of the contraption were 12 full-length mirrors. Attached to the headrest of the chair, via a short cable, was a skullcap with a chin-strap. "Please, have a seat, Hellbound. Dis device shall help me get a proper mapping of your brain, und of any damage it still has vhice I may haff missed. Since I did de scan of you earlier, I haff dat to use as a baseline for comparison." Once Hellbound was on the chair, Archeville put the skullcap on, and adjusted it so it was snug but not overly tight. "De screens here vill soon be showing assorted flashing patterns und repetitve sounds, slowly at first but steadily building in speed. I vill monitor your brain to see how you react to dem." Before Hellbound could say anything, Archeville was already out and had closed the 'door' behind him, leaving Hellbound in an odd Hall of Mirrors-type environment. Hellbound thought he heard another Mad Scientist laugh from outside, and then the mirrored screens flared to life, showing a quickly changing series of images and playing a range of sounds.
  15. "A challenge, Herr Faretti?," he said, his curiosity obviously piqued. "Vhat did you haff in mind?"
  16. I agree. Doc's go. Move action to reconfigure E.S. Standard action to use it. But he misses wildly. Mid-round 6; Initiatives & Conditions 24 -- Arrowhawk -- fine -- 2 HP 23 -- Captain K -- 2 Bruises -- 1 VP 16 -- Doc -- fine -- 1 HP 13 -- Dark Star -- fine -- 2 HP Dark Star's turn.
  17. "A magnetic pulse should do de trick," Archeville said (to no one in particular), reconfiguring his gadget to send out a magnetic ring of energy that would cause Knievel's own metallic costume to cling to itself and bind him. He took careful aim at the fleeing Knievel... ... and missed by a fairly wide margin, instead hitting a passing bird. The magnetic pulse did not hamper its ability to move, but did scramble its homing sense for a few moments, causing it to fly in lopsided circles for a bit.
  18. Try not to shatter any eardrums when High Note sings Happy Birthday ;)
  19. Can you summarize what the changes are?
  20. Happy Birthday, Behind-the-Curtain Tech Guru!
  21. That's exactly what I figured would happen. Ouch! So... +12 damage (DC 27), right?
  22. "De details of mein life are quite inconsequential," he began, at first seeming to brush off the request. Then, "Very vell, vhere do I begin? Mein vater was a relentlessly self-improving computer engineer from Vest Germany mit Late Onset Tay-Sachs disease und a penchant for entomology. Mein mother vas a Roma herbalist named Cynthia; she died giving birth to me. Mein vater vould vomanize; he vould drink. He vould make outrageous claims like he invented de If/Den programming construct. Sometimes, he vould accuse pies of being lazy. De sort of general malaise dat only de genius possess und de insane lament... Mein childhood vas typical: summers in Cameroon... lute lessons... In de spring, ve'd make aluminium foil helmets... Vhen I was insolent I vas placed in a metal box und left out in storms — pretty standard, really. At de age of 13 an asylum received mein vater. Vhen I vas 16 I vent to college; it took me six years to earn mein doctorate. At age 23 I took up valtzing. I vanted to be a quadruple threat: an actor, dancer....."
  23. "Ha! I'm still numb there from your last assault!," Vulture snorts as he wriggles in Avenger's grasp. As Fox clotheslines Slamdance, the great swarm of hell-wasps descend upon Avenger. He feels dozens of stingers pierce his flesh and pump poison into him... but it really doesn't do much more than mildly irritate him. Shark looks around, to to Fox and the prone Slamdance, to Avenger and Vulture, to Scarab, then back to Fox and Slamdance. "Don't you know sharks hunt in packs!" he shouts out, followed by more unintelligible shouting in his excessively deep and guttural voice. The Sky-Remora which had been on Slamdance disappeared, but now ten more Sharks appeared, bursting forth from the ground as if it were water. Three surrounded Slamdance, three surrounded Avenger, two began to climb up trees towards Scarab (they stank like rot and the sea), and the last two stayed by Shark-Prime's side. Shark-Prime, and two by his side, looked up to Scarab, "surrender, or your chums become chum!" "Wh-why aren't y-you-?," Vulture started upon seeing a certain lack of reaction on Avenger's part to the hellwasp's stings, and continued trying to wriggle out of Avenger's grasp (and failing utterly). When the Shark Pack sowed up, though, his bravado was back, "Oh, your gonna get it now!," he snorted. "You'll have to be more specific, sweetness," Fox barked (though his voice was the lest garbled/inhuman sounding of the Trio) as he turned from Slamdance to face Scarab, "I've done lots of women. And given how you're dressed, you've got a lot of nerve calling me derivative!" Fox had held two devices in his hands. One was the rifle Scarab had taken. The other was a shiny baseball-sized orb, which he now held aloft. It let out two quick pulses of light, and Scarab became aware of a fog lifting from her mind... which was then replaced by another, "darker" fog. "I want you to do nothing but tell me who you three are and what all your powers are."
  24. Round 1 Recap [*:2ewrg8we]Fox tried to shoot at Scarab again, but missed, as she was not stunned by Vulture's shriek. [*:2ewrg8we]Avenger grapples Vulture and twists, but Vulture scoffs at the atomic wedgies! [*:2ewrg8we]Scarab telekinetically yanks Fox's freeze-rifle away. [*:2ewrg8we]Slamdance runs back into the fray but is clotheslined by Fox. [*:2ewrg8we]The Hellwasp swarm descends upon Avenger... but their stings don't actually do anything to him. [*:2ewrg8we]Shark dismisses his Sky-Remora and summons ten other Sharks. [*:2ewrg8we]Vulture, upset that Phase 1 of his particular plan failed utterly [since he had no idea Avenger's an undead monster], tries to wriggle out of Avenger's grasp. And rolls so low Avenger can't not beat him. Begin Round 2 Initiatives - Character - Condition - HPs 23+ - Fox - Undamaged 23- - Avenger - Undamaged - 1 HP 18 - Scarab - Bruise x1 - 2 HP 17 - Slamdance - Undamaged but prone - 1 HP 16 - Hellwasps - Undamaged 15 - Shark (and 10 Sub-Sharks) - Bruise x1 7 - Vulture - Undamaged Fox activates the Conscious Mind Control function of his Cerebral Dampener, using it on Scarab (after using a Free Action to banter). He got a 16 on the Mind Control roll, but I'm fiating (so Scarab gets one more HP, bringing her to 3 now) to re-roll, for a 21. Move action to issue command (as he's assuming it works on her).
  25. That's what her No Save Subtle x2 Mind Reading is for.
