"Only part of de night. I do think very fast, you know," he said with a wink. "I take it dere are some patrons here mit whom you take issue, ja?" he said softly as he lead them into a waltz. "Harpies or Jackals? Are dey here to be snide und rude, or are dey casing de place for some future criminal activity?"

Alright, that sounds like it's Small, so its Defense should be 6 (5 + Size modifier for non-held, non-carried, immobile objects). His Flight lets him move 2,500 feet, so he can carry this thing well outside the hangar. And his Move-By Action feat lets him move, do a standard action (like grab the bomb), and move again, as long as his total amount of movement doesn't exceed what he can normally move in one move action. (In other words, he can take part of a move action to move, then a standard action, then the rest of the move action to move again.)

Archeville flies down closer to get a better look at the two groups, trying to see what they're doing. It did indeed look like one of the groups was working on some sort of bomb; they had just finished loading something into it, and were now sealing it up. One of them reached over and activated the device, causing strange symbols (ones not even Archeville recognizes, at least not from his current angle) to appear and lights to light up. The invisible doctor dived down, scooped up the bomb, and bolted outside. He really, really hoped he was right about the absence of a motion-sensitive trigger.
-
Okay, one more question: how big is the "bomb"? Small enough for one man to carry? Or so big as to require two or more folks to carry? Doc's going to move the device. If it's small enough, he can swoop in (Move By Action) to try and grab it now. If it's too big for him to do that, he'll have to use his Electromagnetic Screwdriver for some Magnetic Control effect, but reconfiguring his Gadget is a standard action, and he's already used a move action, so he wouldn't be able to try and move it until next round (unless he surges this round).

He's an open book. For now. -
The lad in the Vulture outfit just barely manages to nod.

Sorry, all, this one kinda slipped away from me.

Geckoman & Quark, the Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning before (Sept 22nd/23rd), Quark's Place Quark finds nothing about the guy who posted the ad on OddJobs.com. The site itself is set up like the Classified's section of a newspaper, the only contact info available is what the poster chooses to give out. Which, in this case, is a description of the person you'll contact. High Note (and Shadow Man?) and Geckoman, the Thursday before (Sept 24th), Claremont Chris and Gordy make plans to meet up with Mr. Terhune that evening. Gordy gets some food in his belly, and they meet up in the parking lot at 6-ish. As he was prepping, Chris's phone went off. It was Darian Cale, calling to see if he'd found out anything more about the guy with the Pier 18 job.* Tabitha Connely & Jos Terhune (and a snoopy Ember), early Sept 28th, at the Fens Pup's fast. But my girl's faster. Jos and the cyber-goons continue watching Lady Iniquity chase down the odd fox-man, at least as best they can given how fast they two are going. * I okayed this with Sandman beforehand.

The kid in the suit shrinks a bit, and appears to behave himself. His eyes are very wide.

Triple Murder in Riderside, Rebooted [OOC]

I know, I know. There be a shameful amount o' things I've not yet read. -
Oh, the drama! Given his complications, I'd say that nabs Avenger a Hero Point. Oddly, part of me is sad to see Melinda go. Largely because I had this bizarre image of her & Doc dancing in the ballroom, which somehow morphed into a swashbuckling swordfight. (Okay, now I really do have to do an adventure with Doc on Cap'n Kraken's space-ship....)

Also, speaking purely personally, I would prefer to see Multi-Man done as a series of Alt Forms, not via Metamorph. Metamorph means you have an entirely different character sheet for each additional form, which can get unwieldy (in part because each separate sheet would need to go through the approval process).

That's not entirely correct. This'd fall under the "Action is a Drawback, not a Flaw, for some powers" discussion.

Triple Murder in Riderside, Rebooted [OOC]

I've actually not read either of those, so I honestly can't say. But, yeah, if Avenger's being like the Question (will freak out, but won't kill, or even attempt to kill [in most circumstances]), that's fine. It's when you start acting like Rorschach that we have a problem. -
Ah, that's a bit different. Though since Quark was hit by a pistol, and his Impervious is > the damage rank of the pistol, he still doesn't need to make a Toughness save. Ah, you're right, I was mis-remembering how Insub worked. Yes, the energy blasts can damage you (unless they're Gravity Blasts); physical attacks (like regular bullets) can't (unless they're Affects Insubstantial bullets). Well, the energy pistol blasts can't, either, though that's due to your Impervious. The rifle ones can damage you. DS needs to make a Tougnhess save, DC 23 (15 + damage rank). Fail by less than 5 (i.e., get a 19-22), he's bruised. Fail by 5 or more, but less than 10 (i.e, get a 14-18), he's bruised & stunned for a round. Fail by 10 or more, but less than 15 (i.e,, get a 9-13), he's stunned & staggered. Fail by 15 or more and... well, DS actually can't fail that badly, not at this time against that attack, since the minimum he can get on this Toughness save is 11. You're right, DS is immune to crits. (They normally add +5 to the damage rank; immunity to crits means they don't get that +5.) Like I said at the beginning: If the die roll for the attack is a natural 20, that's an automatic hit, regardless of how high the target's Defense is. If the total result of the attack roll would have been enough to hit anyway, that's also a crit.

Looks like Avenger gets to fed again. I mean... it looks like Avenger gets to feed again. ;) -
If the result of that attack roll equals or is more than (Target's Defense +10), it hits. Quark Quark's Defense is 16 -- I'm assuming he is wearing his Protective Undersuit -- so the 18 hits. Quark needs to make a Toughness save vs. the Damage of the pistol (18 if it's a Light Pistol, 19 if it's a Heavy Pistol). Except, if he's wearing his Protective Undersuit, that means Quark has Impervious Protection 6, so neither type of pistol can damage him. Dark Star Assuming he's got his Shield up, his Defense is 18. One pistol shot (5) misses. One pistol shot (23) hits. (And if the shooter has Improved Critical/Pistol, that's a crit) One rifle shot (24) hits (and crits! since it's a Natural 20 and is high enough to hit) One rifle shot (13) misses. But Dark Star's insubstantial/energy, so unless those are Gravity Bullets, or bullets that are specially made to Affect Insubstantial targets, you don't even need to roll for damage, they pass through harmlessly. Though if anyone's directly behind Dark Star, the bullets passing through him may hit them.... (I'll leave that up to you.) So, end result, Quark's hit but shrugs it off, and Dark Star's hit but the bullets pass through him. Some of the crooks may be soiling themselves. Now is Doc's turn But first I need info. Doc will be using a Move action to fly down and get a closer look at the two groups. What does it look like they're doing?

And some character don't do things because, while they certainly could, they won't. As you say, it's usually unwise to look too hard at a world filled with jet-powered apes, time travel, and super-powered spandex-wearing megalomaniacs with volcano lairs and plans of world conquest. ;)

Not vs. any attack from her, just vs. her next attack.

Muah hah hah

Hellbound will definitely be in for surprises. Has he already had a "Placement Test"?

Air Walking isn't really a mode of movement, in that it doesn't have its own speed, it just modifies how you can use whatever speed you have. Having Air Walking as an AP of Speed means you can't use the Speed when using the Air-Walking, same as having Enhanced Str as an AP of Blast means you can't use the Enhanced Str when blasting. If you have Flight, you don't need Air-Walking. If you have Air-Walking, you don't need Flight. It modified the bike's speed. The Speed of the driver has no bearing on it; a car doesn't go faster when Quicksilver or Superman drives it. (It might go faster if Flash drives it, but that's because he's explicitly able to share his speed with others.) Weird is a relative term. Just go with an AP of Flight. It'll get you everything you want for your Flying Hell-Bike.
-
Intimidate, Sense Motive, or Will, whichever is best.
-
You are correct, it effectively has Speed 5. Yes and No. Speed 5 means its top speed is above Speed 4 (100 mph), which is certainly reasonable for a motorcycle. (In other words, a person who can run 110 mph, a robot that can run 165 mph, and an alien that can run 235 mph all have Speed 5.) Air Walking would be the way to go, but not by having it as an AP of the Speed. Unless you want it to Air Walk at the same speed as a walking person (since, as an AP, you wouldn't be able to use the Speed at the same time). It's not that vague, to me at least. Anything bought for equipment (like a vehicle) is bought with equipment points. Yes, a flying bike (with Flight 2 as an AP of its Speed 5) costs the same amount of power points as a non-flying motorcycle. But the guy with the non-flying bike has an extra equipment point that the guy with the flying bike doesn't.

Yeah, that beats Vulture's 15.
