Okay, I'm ruling that probing an unconscious mind is like probing a mind for info the subject doesn't consciously know (since he isn't conscious; hard to get a clear picture when the signal's scrambled). How does Scarab know Jack = Avenger? Is that the Melinda that Jack/Avenger is with? Because if so, there're some problems. Mainly the part about the Refs not allowing anything/everything from the splatbooks to be included willy-nilly, we have to approve it. (I thought all the chars in that supplement were dead by now, anyway. This is one reason why the Refs ask to be let in on at least the basics of player-created adventures.)

Can the suit be removed by Jim? Can it be removed by someone else if Jim's KO'd, without having to use some rare or unique key or code? If not, it shouldn't be a Device.

Avenger manages to remove the Vulture's head, though doing so is accompanied by a few slight tearing sounds as he rips rather than unfastens certain concealed clasps. The Vulture head is not a helmet per se, the wearer's head was not in it -- the suit is designed to make the wearer appear taller than he really is, and the wearer's own head is in the chest part of the outfit. Peering into the Vulture head reveals cables and wires linked to cameras and speakers in the head that connect to monitors situated in the chestplate interior. Peering in, you can see that the wearer appears to be a young man, perhaps a high school senor or college freshman, with short blonde hair and fairly pale skin. He smells like incense and dogs.

June 27th, 2011: Arrowhawk pays Doktor Archeville a visit in Providence, demanding to know what happened to Vivian Krieger. The investigation is partly hindered by the fact Archeville no longer knows Vivian Krieger and Valkyrie (whom his Other Side mercilessly attacked) were one and the same. (Kilts & Kooks) July 1st, 2011: Nacht-Krieger has come to assassinate Doktor Archeville! No, wait, it's just Silhouette, dropping in to find out what happened to Fulcrum. She talks him into checking out of Providence and work on rescuing her. (Off-Hours Visit) July 16th, 2011: Two weeks later, Archeville has restored his mind (with nanotech) and rebuilt his Electromagnetic Screwdriver and Gravimetric Belt, and sets off with Silhouette (and some of her friends from Earth-Victoriana) to rescue Fulcrum. Things quickly go wrong when the two heroes are separated and flung across dimensions! (Never Split the Party, later Dunkel Sonne.) Sep 17th-Oct 3rd, 2011: For the first time in many years, Viktor Archeville does not attend Oktoberfest celebration in Munich, Germany! after September 28th, 2011: Doktor Archeville returns to Earth-Prime (missing out on everything Gorgon-related) from his journey into the Terminus, with [???] December 15th, 2011: After working in a secret ArcheTech lab for three months to free her from her Terminus-energy crystalline cocoon, Mona finally breaks free! Archeville is there to meet her on this New Day, as is Carrie/Silhouette. February 1st, 2012: Doktor Archeville is invited along for the maiden voyage of Hanson Enterprise's new SX-1 spaceplane; Glow is also in the plane, in her civilian ID. During the flight, it is hit -- by a Gremlin! But the Gremlin is no ordinary monster: it is one Archeville had a hand in making. (Nightmare at 200,000 Feet) March 27th, 2012: Dok takes a trip to the E-Sea bank to check on some safety deposit boxes. Of course, it gets robbed, by Breaker and his gang of seventeen goons. They don't stand a chance. (Doktor, Banker, Breaker, Thief) April XX, 2012: Dok and Harrier deal with the problems of the past. Specifically, Harrier's parents. (Last Record). April XX, 2012: While investigating the crater where Scholss Wissenschaft once stood, Archeville meets up with Edge and Nina... and a dragon! What else is in store for the Lord of the Manor? May 25th, 2012: Doktor Archeville offers his assistance to Fleur de Joie in her reclamation efforts on Sanctuary. (Forge Works) June 8th, 2012: Doktor Archeville attends Cosmo Accurso's masquerade ball in Castle Accurso in Switzerland. Also in attendance is Eve Martel, secretly the superhero Sage. No one recognizes Archeville -- he's cross-dressed, and did a really good job! (Money, money, money) July 2012: After a disastrous fight with the Science Squad, Doktor Archeville is reformatted. January 25th, 2013: Doktor Archeville helps Baron Katastroff, Voltage, and Cyberknife/Miss Americana investigate the remains of a crashed Curator ship in the Arctic, near Centurion's Sanctum. Nov 9th, 2008 Read an interesting article in today's paper. Seems there's an archaeological dig going on in the Caribbean. A rather obsessed Canadian anthropologist, Gilles Duceppe, has been working there for the past three years, convinced that there are Antlantean artifacts to be found in the islands. Emissary has publicly said that it would be unlikely to find such items there, that at best all anyone would find is trash from vacationing "teenagers"... but something tells me there's more going on than the Silver-Skinned Diplomat is letting on. My art history and archaeology texts seem to imply that it is not impossible for there to have been an Atlantean outpost on the Caribbean Islands, or that Atlanteans fleeing the Great Cataclysm that sunk their isle may have fled to those islands. It could be that there's nothing but Atlantean detritus there, cast-off junk form "tourists" who came up to see their primitive, air-breathing cousins... or it could be caches of magical or technological items, stored for safekeeping millennia ago. What will Duceppe find? More importantly, what will he do with what he finds? The man is obsessed, driven like one who is trying to prove himself to the world. That Atlantis was and is real is no secret, it was revealed to the public back in the 1940s (though specifics, such as its exact location, number of inhabitants, and so on, are not public knowledge). So what is he trying to prove? Is he trying to pinpoint where exactly Atlantis is? No, it is much more personal, I think: a few calls to the University of Toronto's Anthropology Department revealed that he's strictly a mediocre professor, whose students were uninspired and who never came up with any really great insights into the development of human society. This Atlantis project consumed, him, though, so much so that the University kicked him out. He's not doing this for scholarly interests. He's doing it for two reasons: he has a major inferiority complex, and he wants to become famous. But infamy would sit him just as well. If he finds anything, any items of real power, he's going to become a supervillain. I'll have to keep an eye on him.

Grapple opponents do not lost their Dodge bonus to Defense vs. the person grappling them, so Sneak Attack does not enter in. And he fails the toughness save by 15, so he's unconscious. (If Avenger chose lethal, he'd be unconscious and dying, and Avenger would've torn one of his arms out of its socket.)

Scarab reaches out to one of the demon dogs attacking Avenger, gripping its mind tight. Slamdance rushes by. One demon dog tries to attack its former master again. And, again, goes wide, missing completely. Two breathe more hellfire up towards Scarab... and again miss, filling the area in front of her with crossed beam of too-dark flame. The hobo continues to cower. Avenger pulls on Vulture's arms. Two loud pops were heard, followed by a very high-pitched shriek, and then Vulture collapsed like a ragdoll. All five demon dogs vanish in puffs of brimstone.
