  1. No prob :)
  2. Why would a limit on the rank of Prehensile Hair impose a limit on anything else? The Prehensile Hair power would be a part of the Prehensile Hair Container, like the Elongation power is part of Professor Fathom's Liquid Form container. In other words, it'd be something like Prehensile Hair 4 (Container, 20 pp) [*:20d5qsit]Prehensile Hair 5 (100 feet, 25 tendrils; PF: 2 APs) [7pp] [*:20d5qsit]AP 1: Deflect 5 (slow projectiles) [*:20d5qsit]AP 2: Flight 2 (25 mph; "helicopter hair") [*:20d5qsit]Enhanced Strength 14 (Limit: Only with Prehensile Hair) [7pp] [*:20d5qsit]Super-Movement 2 (Slow Fall, Swinging) [4pp] [*:20d5qsit]Super-Strength 2 (Limit: Only with Prehensile Hair) [2pp]
  3. But do be afraid of our answers :harley:
  4. Specifically, Super-Senses 4 (Postcognition), which'll take 4 rounds to enact as an improvised ritual. ;)
  5. ......... blast! *shakes tiny fist* (Actually, this was sorta something I was working on, trying to pin down when assorted adventures were occurring to try and formulate some sort of Official FC PbP Timeline. And not just adventures, but stuff from character backgrounds, too, where dates were provided. Unless otherwise indicated, I'm using the date the character was fully approved as the date they 'debuted' in FC.)
  6. *peeks in* *raises hand* Doc Archeville's got nothing to do 'till Cosmicarus returns to do the "We Are Legion" story, so count me in!
  7. I, for one, welcome a continuity-maintaining overlord.
  8. [[ 3 days later, no one's posted anything, so I'll move things along a bit. ]] Suddenly, Nightshyfts' well-trained ears hear an odd sound. It sounds like rain falling through the leaves of the trees, though the evening sky is clear, and no rain is seen. Concentrating for half a moment, he can determine that the sound -- a focused dripping -- is coming from about 10 feet behind Catherine.
  9. Alternate Form doesn't give a benefit, either, not cost-wise, or in any other way I can think of. And thematically, it makes perfect sense (to me) to have all the "Prehensile Hair" powers tied into one Container. If anything happens to the Hair, you know exactly what powers get affected. It's like having a well-attached bionic arm (one as well-attached as a natural/real arm): it's not a Device, but all the arm-granted powers are in that one arm; if the arm gets fried, you lose all those powers. Makes sense to put 'em all in a Container to show that they're all tied to the one thing.
  10. I'd think a Container for it would make the most sense. What was said to make you decide against that?
  11. [[ *continues watching, silently, plotting doom for the PCs....* ]]
  12. Yup yup. (And I was sure I'd PMed you about it weeks ago. Weird.)
  13. That's like saying Knowledge (Streetwise) has no use by itself. True, the use isn't as concrete as, say, Stealth, but it's always been up to the GM to determine how useful Knowledge skills are. It's entirely possible for Knowledge (Tactics) to be of use aside from the optional rules of using it to set Master Plans and set/detect ambushes. It could be used to identify someone's fighting style, for example, which can be used to identify the person and their instructors. Master Plan isn't for "adequate tactical decisions", though, it's for truly innovative and inspired ones that give a decided advantage, the kinds that take a lot of intel and scenario imagining to work out. (And are usually made well before a battle begins, or is anticipated to begin.)
  14. But for how long? :P
  15. Per the core book, Boost cannot be used to boost Permanent effects; per UP, neither Permanent nor innate effects can be Boosted. (Using Boost on an Elephant won't make it bigger, since it doesn't have the power to grow, it's simply naturally larger than a human.) I'd go with a rank or two of Permanent innate Growth, and then a few more ranks of non-Permanent Growth.
  16. [[ I've got nothing to add at the moment; y'all can keep RPing amongst yourselves for now. Oh, and the Judges here don't really have any sort of "What you know of other PCs based on a Gather Info check" guidelines, so I'm leaving it to Nightshyft to determine what, if anything, Catherine knows of his character. ]]
  17. Now if only Cosmicarus were back.... :(
  18. Saw a pretty good movie the other day (via Netflix). Molly, starring stars Elisabeth Shue, Aaron Eckhart, and Jill Hennessy. It's loosely based on one of my favorite sci-fi stories, Flowers for Algernon. I recommend it.
  19. [[ Spectre, Catherine actually sees Nightshyft near the scene. You may act accordingly. ]]
  20. I hope not! *pokes Cosmicarus*
  21. Nightshyft Making his way across/under the 40th Avenue bridge, Nightshyft soon finds himself at the westernmost edge of the Promenade. Near the entrance he could see one of Freedom City's finest, siting in his police cruiser and talking on the radio. There seems to be no one else present, and the police tape strung across the main entrance gives a good explanation why. Creeping in, he realized he'd never been here, not for 'business,' anyway. The trails here had always been safe, making the recent murders doubly intrusive. As he made his way in, going around the darkness-triggered 'street' lights that were just beginning to illuminate the trails, he got the feeling he was being watched... but was that just his usual paranoia, or something more? [[ Please make a Stealth check; you can Take 10 if you wish. ]] Imposter Imposter avails himself of the city's fine public transportation. Specifically, a taxi. The cabbie -- from Jersey, as his accent easily indicates -- is friendly and talkative. "Hey, kid, howyadoin'? Promenade, eh? Yeah, I knoww here dat's at.... Dis is my first day here, ya know, got a transfer from Hoboken. Dang giant robot kept tearin' up da place, lost me t'ree cahs! So's I figures I come out here where dere's some, y'know, real superheroes, knowwhatI'mtakin'bout? Yeah, sure ya do...." As Imposter engages (or avoids) conversation with the cabbie, he catches sight of some movement up in the air. Somewhat used to the sight -- he did attend Claremont Academy, after all -- the sight of this particular flier, who looked for all intents and purposes to be some sort of angel, was a hair unusual (especially when he at one point was in between his view and the setting sun, making it look like the angel was glowing. And it seemed to also be going towards the Promenade, in a very roundabout fashion. Catherine Kato The restaurant Catherine had popped into was at the far southeast end of the Promenade, technically in Kingston. Unfortunately, the brief info from the news report indicated that the latest murder (and the two prior) had all taken place in the northwest part of the Promenade (though the murder had been moving steadily southeast). There was still some amount of daylight, and once she made it to the Promenade proper she could easily see several walking trails. she also saw police tape blocking the main entrance, and a parked cruiser, but no one in it. The going was slow, not because of any difficulty in the terrain, but simply because she was unused to such lengthy exertions. Though she knew the police had temporarily cordoned off the area, the absence of any other person did still seem unusual for such a big place. Eventually it got dark enough for the 'street' lights along the trails to flicker on, completely changing the shadows of the area, and making the loneliness a tad creepier. Mongrel Angel Mongrel Angel was filled with a burst of hope when she saw the Centurion statue, renewing her faith in the decision to take the path of the hero. Zipping northwest towards the Promenade, she soon found herself hovering over where she believed the report had indicated the last murder had occurred. [[ Everyone please make a Notice check. ]]
  22. ......... d'oh!
  23. Dr Archeville

    Avatars

    Science!
  24. Thanks for clearing that up Nightshyft, which direction is Nightshyft approaching the Promenade from? North? Northeast? Where had he been when shadowing his client? The brief info from the news report indicated that the latest murder (and the two prior) had all taken place in the northwest part of the Promenade, though the murders had been moving steadily southeast.
  25. No, it just nixes the "can make a master plan in mere seconds" aspect of that concept. You can still use Know (Tactics) to make the Master Plan check (if you get a feat allowing it), or for setting up/detecting ambushes (again if you get a feat for it).
