A decent month: several PL bumps, and two new Player Statues. Ccongrats, Ecalsneerg and TiffanyKorta! Note that the January "Day of Wrath" Vignette is not counted in these totals. Because we were late getting it out, they're not due until February 15th, and will thus be added to the February totals. So please be sure to note that down in your February post o' threads. And speaking of tracking your threads, please, please make sure you've got the correct URL listed. While going through the January threads I found several misleading URLs which took me to the wrong thread (and in one case the posted link took me to a YouTube video).

So... I've been incommunicado for a while. And you all deserve to know why. Part of it has been technical issues. I'd moved. I had some problems getting my internet set up, then my computer started dying, then finally died. Activity at work has been ramping up, so I've not been able to steal away to here like I used to. I got a new computer... and with it realized I could finally play Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. So that's been eating up some time. (Orc Pyromancer, and an Argonian Mage-Thief Werewolf.) And I got sucked into tumblr. Part of it has been social issues. I moved b/c I'd separated from my wife, so that was a big upheaval; it got my Anxiety/Depression going for a bit, but I've gotten a better handle on things. When I moved I got two roommates, and (semi-unexpectedly) a third one a few months later. We've all been having fun -- lots of tabletop gaming (mostly Pathfinder) -- so I've been spending less time on my computer. (Also, I've started dating again, a long-distance relationship; we've met once, and are meeting again this weekend. She's expressed an interest in joining the site.) And started a Dark Ages Vampire game with another group of gamers in the area; I give summaries of it on my tumblr. I am sorry for being absent. This place has meant a great deal to me, still means a great deal to me, still has a very special place in my heart, and I do wish to continue playing with you all and providing a place where so many excellent stories can be told. I am working on getting back into the swing of things -- I really need to work on getting more ranks in the Time Management skill -- and look forward to seeing you all again in the Chat.

In order to make sure the Refs accurately count all your IC posts and award you the due amount of power points, please post with a list of all the threads in which your character posted IC this month (including the News forum). Remember that we require that posts be a minimum of about 500 characters. You can see here what a 400, 500, and 600 character post looks like. Posts shorter than 500 characters will not be counted. Please also mark things from the Non-Canonical forum as being non-canonical, as those count 1/2 (2 posts made for your char in a non-canon thread count as 1 post for the char). And if you are GMing something, list those threads, too. GM-only posts count as full posts, and can be assigned to whichever of your characters needs a 'push' to get up in post numbers. When you make your list, please post a link to the IC threads -- preferably to the top of the page where your first post for that month appears -- so we (and the auto-count program) can jump right to it. When you post the link to your thread, the URL should look like this http://www.freedomplaybypost.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=4478&p=100643#p100643 or this http://www.freedomplaybypost.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=4478&start=10 or this http://www.freedomplaybypost.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=4478 NOT this http://www.freedomplaybypost.com/viewtopic.php?p=100643#p100643 The four digit number in the URL (bolded & underlined in the correct example) is the thread id number which we need to use the autocountamotron. When you start a thread, make sure [iC] is in the title/subject line of the IC thread, and [OOC] is in the title of the OOC thread. If you make a post in an IC thread as a GM or an NPC, add [GM] in the subject line of the thread. If you make a post and [iC] is not in the subject line, the AutoCounter will not count it. And if you do not put [GM] in the places you post as an NPC or Ref, it won't count those properly. Please list your threads in alphabetical order. Please clearly note any threads in which you are both player and GM/running an NPC. Also, when you start a new thread, please mark it on the appropriate Chronicles page. (If you have a handle here, you have an account for the Wiki, and anyone with an account can edit it.) You do not have to be specific on the date, but I would like to keep track of when things are happening relative to each other. The Chronicles/Timeline also serves as an index for everything we've done in the nearly three years this site's been active, and it's useful to know if X happens before or after Y. If you've done any "extracurriculars" -- artwork, HellQ, 20 Questions, NPC, Vignette, Wiki work, etc. -- please be sure to list them along with your active threads. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in your post counts being postponed or skipped completely.

So now my desktop's BSoDing while in Safe Mode. And while running the Startup Repair utility. And my laptop won't connect to the interwebs. Blaaargh.

Archeville nodded, a bit more enthusiastically than he intended, owing to the excitement at investigating this mystery. "" he gestured towards the banks of computers, " Do dragons have a strong parental instinct? Heck if I know, but given how poorly he's reacted to the loss of his siblings, it's a good bet he would. He began probing the computers with his Screwdriver in one hand, and gestured to Edge with the other, "" Or your 'luck powers' will help me find a working system in all this ruin. Much as I'd like to take my time, a shortcut is a shortcut.
-
Archeville let out a long, low whistle, and took a quick spin around the room. "" He glanced back to Mark, Nina, and the dragon, "" He spread his arms wide, "" The Doktor trailed off a moment as part of his mind worked on how one might build such a system, until he snapped himself out of it, and approached the pile in the center of the room. ""

"No one 'sent' me, jester," 'Vicky' practically hissed as she took the card, "I am here because I desire to be." She made sure Accurso heard her before he'd danced upstairs. And now it's just me and who I'm reasonably certain is Eve Martel, though I'm still not certain. How to find out, though? Oh, might as well just strike up a conversation, see where that leads. 'Vicky' turned back to the fox-woman, "so," she asked casually, still in English, "is there a chicken running around here with your name on her? Or... another fox?" Next tot he first question, 'Vicky' wrote "a campfire by a moonlit lake."
-
"Sapience?!," Dead Head repeated, "The cards, the... whatever themselves? Hoo boy..." He shook his head, "I seen plenty o' small-time mystics try to pattern themselves after some card from the Tarot, even a few attempts at puttin' groups together based on it, but this... this is somethin' else." "I mean," he looked up to Equinox and Nick, hoping they might have some answers for the questions he was about to pose, "how do we even face somethin' like that? I mean, yeah, we need to stop 'em -- they tried shakin' down this fortune teller, that ain't good -- but what the heck do they want? What could they want? If these are the Tarot archetypes, they's somethin' primal on a level of gods, maybe even more primal than that."

Before a response could be made to the Fox-woman's earlier remark about not knowing what men prefer, Accurso had revealed himself and passed out the cards for his little game. "Doktor Archeville will be here?," 'Vicky' breathlessly asked, a slight blush coming to her cheeks, breaking her smooth, almost icy demeanour. "I have heard much about him...." She trailed off, leaving it to the imagination what she had heard, and what she planned to do if she met him (despite -- or perhaps because of -- her boorish companion), and quickly recomposed herself. 'Vicky' looked over one nearby guest's card in order to see what it read, curioser and curioser. These questions seem innocuous enough, but will more probing ones come later in the evening? "Well, do I get a card," she asked the jester, in a tone making it more command than question, "or are you afraid of what my answers might be?"

This morning at around 9:00am EST many people reported being unable to access the site, seeing instead a message from GoDaddy indicating our domain name has expired. I appear to be the only one not seeing this message.
