  1. Impervious only vs. Energy? For a shapeshifter like a Grue, I'd more expect Impervious vs. Physical -- bullets & punches don't do much, but fire & electricity & cold screw it. Or is that from the Light, protecting her from Light (and other electromagnetic) attacks? (Either one would work!)
  2. Then why have it be Permanent and Innate?
  3. "Omega allyin' with 'er might not be the worst thing," Dead Head mused. "Worst thing might be if she won over Omega, crystallized the whole Terminus. That couldn't be good fer Reality." "Battle Brutes?" Dead Head thought a moment; while he had been studying under both Phantom and Cimitiere, his knowledge of dimensional stuff was still extremely basic. "Oh, right, them fellers! Well... yeah, could work, if'n we could get 'er in there. But the problem remains of how we make a portal that big." He tapped his chin in thought, though -- perhaps due to the nature of the situation -- he did not do his typical 'jaw breaks off in his hand' bit. "Would... would it be easier t'summon some'a them Brutes into 'er? Let 'em tear stuff up inside 'er?"
  4. Dead Head snuck around as best he could, contorting through air vents and scrabbling along, most likely giving people worries about rats in the walls. True, he could use his necromantic gifts to take on the appearance of some dead person, but he was not always able to control who he turned into; often it was someone close to any living people about -- he developed the trick to spook crooks who'd murdered relatives for inheritances, appearing as the person they'd killed to force a confession -- but doing that here would at best cause no small amount of confusion. Eventually he made it outside, popping out of an external vent, and spotted the drab figure moving on. Looks corporeal, no it's no haunt. Best find out what it is. Dead Head ran after the figure, "hey, buddy! I think ya dropped somethin' back here!"
  5. "An excellent suggestion, Friend-Dragonfly," the strange robot said as she set the test up. Protectron stood motionless as it stared at the chair, eyes unwavering as it winked out of sight. It stretched out one hand towards the chair, and rested it on the back. "Tactile sensors appear to be only means to penetrate cloaking field."
  6. Why is she so dense? By which I mean, why the Permanent Innate Density? That's not a typical Grue thing.
  7. Are you still tweaking this, or is it ready for JUDGING?
  8. Giving it a more in-depth look now... Deep Ones are accepted by Serpent Men: Serpent Men make them from captured Atlanteans (either by exposing them to the Serpent Scepter, which can turn humans into Serpent Men and Atlanteans into Deep Ones, or... the 'old-fashioned way'). Simply being a Deep One wouldn't get him kicked out of Serpent People society (though he'd find no fans in the Atlanteans); at worst Deep Ones might be treated as second-class citizens (since they're not 'true' Serpent Folk), though the books don't really say. An idea: he was shunned not because of what he was but what he represented -- the deep (and forbidden) love his (not completely corrupted & inhuman) Serpent Person father & Atlantean mother felt for one another. Why did the old Atlantean (Jon? Really?) take him in? Did he sense something about his destiny/connection to the Serpent Scepter? If he was "sending out his consciousness" to "see and study all he wanted," why does he not have any ESP ability?
  9. "Are you certain this is where you were held?," the recapitated robot asked. "Freedom is a large city, with many twisting roads, and it would be easy for an organic being to get lost in its streets." While awaiting an answer, Protectron studied the building intently.
  10. Jacob Agopsowicz Jacob from Jacob Joachim "Jack" Klugman, who starred in Quincy, M.E., an American show about a crime-fighting medical examiner (ran 1976-1983). Agopsowicz from Adolphus Raymondus Vernon Agopsowicz, birth name of the actor better known as John Vernon, who starred in Wojeck, a Canadian show about a crime-fighting medical examiner (ran 1966-1968); Quincy was largely inspired by Wojeck. ... I may just have to write this guy up as an NPC.
  11. Deep in the basement of McNider Memorial Hospital, in its morgue, another dead man stirred, though the condition of this one was known to Jacob Agopsowicz, the hospital's chief medical examiner. Agopowicz kept Dead Head's visits secret from most of his staff, but especially from chief of staff Dr. Randolph Collins, who viewed costumed heroes and other superhumans as a nuisance at best. Agopowicz did this in part out of not liking Collins' overly reserved nature, in part out of "professional courtesy": he himself had had a short run as a costumed adventurer, back in the late 60s/early 70s. Dead Head had been coming around the morgues a lot lately, what with the massive multi-pronged attack from a week ago. But this evening was a more relaxed one: for the moment, there were no bodies awaiting examination, so Agopowicz got to enjoy a leisurely lunch before something inevitably came to interrupt. When Dead Head hit the morgue up during his patrol, the M.E. invited the young zombie to sit for a bit and swap stories of adventures with one another. "... so the goon's laughin' at me, 'cuz he thought I'd missed, but really I'd hit the tank of anesthetic behind him! So before he knew it, he was out like a light!" "Oh, man, Jake, that's a great one!," Dead Head said between laughs. "But what about the gal on the table?" "Oh, she was fine, I'd gotten to her before they'd even started cutting, so- Dead Head?" Jacob had paused when he saw his conversational partner suddenly turned to his left and began staring up at the ceiling. "Dead Head, what's wrong?" "There's somethin' comin'.... somethin' undead." He rose, "I'd best go check it out! See ya 'round, Jake!" And at that, Dead Head ran off upstairs, towards the Richards and the mysterious grey man in the brown suit.
  12. 13; the PL 15 one was how he was before a large portion of his power got yanked out. (I didn't delete that sheet b/c at the time it happened I was still using it in a few threads.) And Dead Head has some Necromantic Senses already! And DH often spends time in morgues, so it's easy enough to have this guy ping on his Necro-Radar.
  13. Dead Head gave Rene such a look when he mentioned Hades and Malador and Samedi, and Things From Beyond, but a moment's consideration (and Nick's words) made him realize half of what the old Frenchman said wasn't that far-fetched. "If the Gorgon ain't killin' 'em, but puttin' 'em in some kinda stasis, that means no more death. Ever. Yeah, I reckon Hades & Samedi'd be opposed t'that. An' Malador ain't gonna rule a buncha statues..." "But we ain't," the normally jovial revenant slammed his fist down on the arm of the chair, and the emerald flames in his eyes flared, "dealin' with nothin' From Beyond; the death they bring won't be quick, or painless." He was quiet a moment as Nick went on discussing plans. "Shoot, if we's gonna send it somewhere, why not the Terminus itself?"
  14. Taking a cursory look, a few problems immediately pop out: COMBAT Attack: In the Combat section you note you've spent 0pp, yet have +5 Melee and +5 Ranged listed. In your totals at the bottom, you list you've spent 10pp, which would give you a +5 on Attack. If that's the case, please mark 10pp spent in the Combat section, and you only need to list "+5" in the slot. Defense: At least 1/3rd of a char's Defense must come from 'base' Defense, so 0 Base Defense + Dodge Focus 5 is not allowed. Knockback: You should list what his KB will be without his Force Field (it'd be -1). SAVES Toughness: You should note here that his Force Field is ablative, and list what his Toughness will be without it (+3). POWERS Powers need to be listed alphabetically. Fortunately for you, I was feeling punchy, and alphabetized them for you (and fixed up a few formatting errors). Magic: Please note the range of his Teleport (900 feet/anywhere on Earth) and the effective Str/weight limits for his Water Control. Also, a note on his Teleport: the Darkness he creates with his Magic will not be allowed to count as "Shadows" for his "Medium [shadows]" Teleport; if you can create the condition you need, requiring the condition isn't a Flaw, it's a Complication at best. Also, the Suffocate power is pretty lousy for what it's supposed to do; we typically recommend a Fort Save Damage effect instead. Swimming: Please list his Swim speed.
  15. The 20Q will count (and I'll amend that now), but your bare-bones Wiki page will not. What art page? (Or do you mean the pic of Tendril on the Wiki page? That alone won't count for an extra point, either.)
  16. Doubt we'll need this, but who knows?
  17. Date: June 17th, 2011 (Friday), later afternoon/early evening Continued from ArchEvil: Omnia Mutantur, Nihil Interit and ArchEvil: Gestalt Theory. The foe was abominable, and the battle long, but the heroes prevailed. A great pseudonatural beast from beyond time and space, something which had apparently been slumbering in and influencing the science hero Doktor Viktor Archeville, had been banished, but at a terrible price. Archeville, reborn to a new (now fully human) body, stared at the spot where the fight had been, wrapped in his lover Fulcrum's cape, the only thing of her that remained on the battlefield in North Bay. She was gone, swallowed up by the explosion of Terminus energy that expelled the beat; chances were even of them either being atomized, or tossed into some other dimension. Archeville's mouth hung agape. He stared, bleary eyed, hands still reaching out where Fulcrum had last held them. Mona...
  18. Protectron's head hovered above its body, which still stood before the temporarily-halted man-elephant. "Section 13," the hovering head flatly intoned, "a part of the Office of Strategic Services. Directive: coordinate the actions of the various superpowered organics the Allies had access to, particularly those unaffiliated with either the Liberty League or the Allies of Freedom. Records indicate Section 13 was closed down along with the OSS after the end of World War II, but rumors persist that members of the organization went on to high positions in the OSS's superseding agency, the Central Intelligence Agency." The head tilted slightly down to better face the man-elephant, "we are not members of Section 13. I am Protectron -- my primary directive is to preserve as much organic life as possible. What is your name?"
  19. "Friend-Caradoc," Protectron called out in its flat, amplified voice, "we must get inside quickly and stop whatever is occurring. Can you clear a path through these misguided mechanoids for me?" The strange robot form the future turned back to the steambots, "I regret what we must do, but your tenacity and limited processors leave us little choice. However, I do believe a study of your systems may useful to law enforcement and toy manufacturers."
  20. Yes, Dead Head's suggesting this bumuAmQ92mY Not that we'd have a chance to do it... or that it'd even have any effect!
  21. "Sorry I's late, folks," the Southern zombie drawled as he emerged from the shadows, "but y'know how chatty them ghosts can get. 'Specially the ones what folks like only Nick an' I can 'ear." He passed by the pastries without comment, and plopped down into an old wooden rocking chair, "An' that's a good idea ya got there, Nick... but has anythin' on that scale ever been attempted? I's far from an expert, sure, but, seems t'me, somethin' that big'd take a lot more hoodoo than what we all could muster up, if it could e'en be done at all." He rocked slowly back and forth in the chair, "I's thinkin' somethin' more direct -- like a Penitence Gaze."
  22. I figure Protectron's been helping out whoever/wherever it can, as all good help-bots should.
  23. "I am here, Friend-Ironclad," the strange robot's flat voice announced as it re-entered the room. In its left hand was a gray package, rectangular, about the size of a hardback book, "and I have assembled the emergency repair kit for Friend-Gossamer's suit." In its right hand, held out some distance from its body, was a basket filled with smaller packages, about the size of a paperback book and in an assortment of colors, "I have also fashioned these containment units for procuring the nanites; within each are the magnetic 'bottles' Friend-Dragonfly created, as well as more standard extraction tools and containment vessels, constructed of different exotic materials, in case the nanites of Cosmic Entity 31966 are able to overcome the magnetic containment field." "In what other way may I be of assistance?," it asked after setting the items down.
