Dark Star's visit to Malice while he's in the clink.

Every rumor you've ever heard about how much jail sucks is true. Life in Blackstone is a bit better than what a normal prison would be just because the chance that another prisoner will be in a position to harm you is significantly lessened. By the same token however, the guards are quite strict about security polices. Each individual cell is checked every day, along with random searches whenever the guards feel like it. But you can get by. At the end of the day, every pyscho and ever guard you see is a person, and they really don't want to be here. It forms a really weird bond. You can see that look in the eye of the old timers. That look that just says that they have been down here so long that they don't even remember what the sun feels like. It's little things like that that hit you the hardest. The smell of freshly cut grass was the first thing Eric noticed he missed. After that it was the wind. The sun and the lack of space hadn't hit him yet. He was a nerd at heart. Sitting hunched over a small little desk for hours on end was normal. That's why a prisoner never turns down a visitor. To look into the eyes of someone who still knows what the sun looks like, or to catch the smell of anything from the outside off their clothes is one of the very few pleasure people get. So Eric walked down the hallway towards his visitor a bit slower than normal because his body was not used to taking this many steps in a single direction.

"Old" version meaning before the latest updates. The last update did the following:  Moved 2 points of enhanced strength outside of the Form, which doesn't matter at this point. Turned Leaping 3 into a Dynamic AP of Super-Strength. Added the Healing AP. Otherwise, old and new Atlas are identical.

"Oh you are so not completing your mission bug boy, get your butt back here!" says Rocket as he easily tears after the creature with his superior speed and agility. He charges up his blaster and unleashes a quick bolt of plasma at the fleeing creature. "Who are you working for?"

The OOC thread for Doc's visit to Malice while he's incarcerated in Blackstone.

Things had been more than a little rough for Blackstone's newest resident. He had recieved quite his fair share of death threats when he first got in. Putting some of the residents in a hospital bed for no other reason than to cause them bodily harm was a sure-fire way to breed ill-will. Probably for his own protection, Eric found himself on one of the highest levels at Blackstone with other gadgetteers and suit wearers. Then there was the fact that he had to learn how to do everything with one hand. Cutting his food in particular was a real pain to master, but Eric refused to let anyone else do it for him. And that was the name he wanted people to use, Eric. He reminded people that for all of the crazy spin the media had put on him, at the end of the day, he was just a guy. A person. Just some dude with a grudge. He wanted people to realize that the common man was something to fear and respect. But all he managed to do was convince most people that he was thoroughly round the bend. But some of the other "normal" villain types warmed up to Eric, if for no other reason than to tag along whenever he tried to blow Blackstone sky high. Which everyone believed was quite a possibility, as Eric discovered much to his dismay. He liked keeping up with all the scientific papers that got published, but he had a hell of a time getting his hands on even the ones he wrote himself. He took to talking shop with the gear heads during the mild bit of "recess" they got every day. But mostly Eric spent his days drawing and writing furiously. Books were a pain to get, paper was pretty easy. When he first got in, he could barely hold the pencil in his hand, but as the weeks went on, he had gotten much better. He did notice that his letters were a bit more rounded now then when he used to write. But on this day, Eric's writing session would be interrupted by a visitor. Who'd come all the way out here to see me? And why wait to now? If it's another report I swear to god-

Alrighty so how are we doing this? Where is Malice thrown after the events of Massive Explosion? Are we doing a Trial thread? Does Malice even get a trial? When and where will these events take place? Does anyone have a snazzy title in mind for a thread?

Jimb011 - Doctor Annihilate - PL10 Villain (NPC Tier 2)
Geez3r replied to Jimb011's topic in Archived Characters
Okay. Almost done here. You have 1 more point to spend. Then flush out Powers & Tactics and the Complications sections and you'll be on your way. I added in the trade-offs line for you. -

Stats, good. Combat: A few errors here. Attack and Defense each cost 2 points per rank. 12 ranks in attack costs 24 points, 10 ranks in Defense costs 20 point. 24+20 = 44. With 10 ranks in Defense and 1 rank in Dodge Focus, you currently have a total Defense score of +11. 1/2 of your Defense value, derived soley from the Defense attribute is retained while flat-footed. Meaning in this case, you have a +5 bonus while flat footed. Saves: You only have 1 rank in Defensive roll, and therefore only lose 1 point of Toughness while flat-footed. You have a +5 bonus on toughness saves from your Constitution score, which you will always have. Your costume grants you a +2 bonus to Toughness, which you will have so long as you are wearing the costume. In addition, your total bonus on your toughness save is +10. Skills, good. Feats, good. As it currently stands you have spent 148/150 power points. -
And we're officially on the clock. 130 rounds from now, Atlas will need to take a serious nap. Unless MBCE says otherwise, I'll be using the "old" version of Atlas, so no Dynamic Array, and he has a grand total of Leaping 4.

Samael helped the people to their feet, trying to make up for his failure at stopping the creature in the first place. "I think they are all okay. Weird creatures are attacking any machine they can reach. They're too fast for me." And then Samael hears the excited screaming. "Ah crap. Doc, you're a walking dinner bell to them... But uh... if you can em close to here, then I could take them out." Samael's body began to grow to a massive size, and his skin turned a deep, angry red. "Atlas SMASH!"

Jimb011 - Doctor Annihilate - PL10 Villain (NPC Tier 2)
Geez3r replied to Jimb011's topic in Archived Characters
Firstly, when you update your character, you should just edit the original post, they way the refs don't have look through the thread to find the "proper" version. Secondly, there are a few errors I see on the new sheet. Stats: 10+10+6+18+0+4 = 52pp You didn't update the numbers here, only the new point value. it should instead read: Stats: 10+10+10+18+0+4 = 52pp  You're combat section should be as follows: Combat: 24+20 = 44pp Attack: +12, +15 Melee Grapple: +20 Defense: +11 (+5 flat-footed) [base Defense +10] Knockback: -4 -3FF Initiative: +9  Saves should be as follows: Toughness: +8/ +7 Flat footed/ +6 without costume/ +5 without costume & flat footed Fortitude: +10 (+5 Con, +5) Reflex: +13 (+5 Dex, +8) Will: +6 (+0 Wis, +6) Feats should be alphabatized Finally, I am getting 148 points spent in total. Also, you do not hit your defensive caps right now. It is recommended, but not necessary that you do so. To hit your defensive caps, increase either your Toughness by 1 point, or your Defense by 1 point. -
Jimb011 - Doctor Annihilate - PL10 Villain (NPC Tier 2)

Welcome to the boards. You'll need to flush out all the fluffy bits before you get an approval, but let's see if I can't work with what you have mechanics wise here. Stats add up, but these numbers: "8+10+6+0+5+0 = 48pp" seem to be a hold over from an earlier version of the character or template you used. Please update this. Combat, I'm getting 52 Points. Attack 14 = 28 points, Defense +12 = 24 Points. 28+24 = 52. Saves are 19 points: 5+8+6 = 19 Also, if you took 2 points out of Fortitude save and 2 points out of Defensive roll, you could buy your Constitution up to 20, for no net point change. But you keep more of your Toughness while flat footed, have a better bonus on recovery checks and seem more well rounded. But this choice is entirely up to you. If you want to keep it as is, I certainly won't stop you. Skills, I'm counting 60 ranks for 15 points. I might suggest some ranks in Sense Motive, but again, your prerogative. Feats, good. But unless you have Equipment, please get rid of the little quote boxes. In total, I'm counting 152 points spent. For point shaving, I suggest dropping Defensive roll for Equipment, specifically armor/costume of some kind which grants protection. Also, if you don't have any ranged attacks, you could lower your attack some and replace it with ranks in Attack Focus Melee. And as always, there are drawbacks. -
Rocket quickly dodged to the side as the creature's claw came towards him. However, the manuever put him quite off balance. So, when he attempted to dart behind the creature, he nearly crashed head first into a nearby desk. A desk that was later kicked across the room as Rocket attempted to counter attack the creature. Not used to fighting in these enclosed spaces. Yeah that'll be my excuse. Rocket shoots the former hostage a look that says both "Run" and "Don't tell anyone how stupid I just looked."

Acrobatic Bluff, Includes -5 for move action (1d20+8=9) Melee Attack roll vs DEF 16, DC 27 Toughness save if it hits (1d20+8=9)  :| :rules: :nono:

Dark Star sees about a dozen guys (not including the new thugs) actively working on 3 cars, obviously of older make, but not old enough to be "classics". Two of them are red, one is blue. They're American cars, but what make and model is beyond him. There is also a white van inside the garage, a little removed from the active work area, and no one seems to care about it much. What Dark Star does notice however, is that many of the parts being replaced don't have anything apparently wrong with them.

"Hey! Put the young lady down!" said Rocket dramatically as he landed on the scene. The creature's eyes had thrown him, maybe it could be reasoned with?

Initiative (1d20+1=3) ... :|

Roll me a Notice Cy to see how many details you can pick up on.

"Everyone hold tight, help is on the way. But I need to put a stop to this before anyone else is hurt. Just hang on, I'll be right back!" Rocket took off after this bug creature. He loathed having to leave the people behind but he knew very little about medicine and whatever this creature was after it couldn't be good. The last thing he wanted now was a second wave of creatures set loose on the city. He darted through the hallways trying desperately to catch the perpetrator before anyone else got hurt.

Yeah. I believe that this thread has got entirely too silly. Slapping an extra point into Leaping will pretty much accomplish what you want.
-
This isn't a smash and grab. This was a planned attack. Whoever it is must be after something specific. I've got to stop them. Rocket set down in the lobby and addressed those gathered there "Police and ambulence are on their way. You'll be okay. But I need to know what happened here."

Freedom City. It's the Lor Republic btw.
