It was rare that Samael had a day off, the deli usually kept him quite busy. But the refridgerator had broken and leaked all over the place. They would cleaning up this mess for a while, so Samael had some time to himself. He went to the mall intending to buy a few suit to replace the one he had been wearing when he transformed a few days back. He also looking for anything that might not actually be torn to shreds when he transformed. And also for tradition's sake he made a note to stop off at the pet store to grab some treat and possibly a new toy for Sprinkles.
  2. The smoke cleared, and Malice still stood just as strongly as he had done the moment before. Dark Star's attacks didn't seem to have any visible effect on Malice. He did appear to be a bit disoriented from the flash bang because when he talks, he's not quite looking straight at Dark Star. He also seems to be a bit out of breath, not surprising considering the heat his suit just generated; it must be unbearably hot in there. "My actions are for the greater good Dark Star. It gives me no pleasure to do this, but I am left with little choice. If my friend hadn't been subject to this farce of a trial, I would have let the legal system turn as normal. If you were not here, I would have used conventional weaponry. But neither of those two options came to pass so here we are."

  4. I think that just pre-emptively killed all future grim-dark comic book movies. Which is very much a good thing. I'm just looking forward to the cross-over comic where Wolverine teams up with Peter Pan :D
  5. Or, he could shave points by buying 5 ranks in Dodge Focus, and then use Withstand Damage to it's full effect every round. And with the points you shave, you could bump up your other saves, mitigating the potential drawback of lowering your Defense.
  6. Pretty much any time in September is good for me.

Sprinkles is my very best friend in the world. He happens to be about 10 inches tall, is furry, has 4 legs and a tail. In other words, he’s my cat. He’s a Siameese cat with piercingly blue eyes. He’s pretty quiet most of the time. I only notice he’s around when I feel something brushing up against my leg. I only get him to meow once a day, and that’s when he realizes that I’m awake and that I am now in a food-giving position. If I ever ignore him, I’ll get a little nip on my nose for my insolence. His favorite toy is actually the drawstring on my old pair of pajama pants. But he doesn’t play with it the way you think he would. Ordinarily you would dangle a string over a cat and they would bat it around. But if you do that with Sprinkles, he’ll just stare at you with his head cocked to the side, like he’s looking at a crazy person. What he likes is if you ball up the string and toss it across the room in a big arc. He’ll chase after it and pounce the ball while it’s still in mid air. He’ll wrestle with it for a bit, and get all tangled up before he brings the string back to you for another round. I anxiously await for the day a parade goes passing by our house and confetti is raining down outside the window.

I’ve been trying to find a place where I can practice using my new abilities but as of thus far, I can’t find a good place. You see I know that I’m very strong, stronger than I thought was possible, even for metas, but I can’t find my upper limit without doing some major damage. I started out moving the refrigerator down in the deli, but that proved too easy. Next I tried moving my car, again, it was real easy. Pick up trucks were also easy. But after that point I started having to do some more dangerous stuff. I tried hefting a cement truck… I did it with one hand. I went down to the docks and tried moving some stacks of the storage containers, still too easy. Then I got really daring. I picked up the crane that was moving things about. That was a bit difficult, but again, I could do it without a great exertion of effort. But now I have no idea what to do next. Anything I can think of that’s heavier than that crane is like a land mark. Jumbo jets, cargo ships, heck buildings. I don’t know how strong I am, and I can’t exactly just ask people if I can toss around their million dollar piece of machinery just for ha’s.

People always seem to find themselves falling into routines. They find a set order of tasks that meet their needs and simply repeat that process over and opver again. In that way, you get to know other people when their routines intersect with your own. I for example meet lots and lots of people due to my job. I meet most of them during the morning rush. A lot of them are dock workers and construction guys who are picking up subs for their entire crew for the day. Which is a double edged sword for me. I get lots of money out of the deal, but that’s a hell of a lot of sandwiches to make first thing in the morning. But because I fill these orders so often, I’ve unconsciously memorized them, even though I routinely get 7 orders that come out to a total of 172 sandwiches. But this whole hero business messes with all that. I don’t have it quite as bad as the others do though. I’m effectively super like maybe 10% of the time. Where as other people are just super 24/7, which really just adds a whole 'nother set of issues. I mostly stick to patrolling after hours. Ordinarily I couldn’t do that but since I got my powers I feel like I’ve just got energy to burn. Anyways the point is, if you’re going to be a hero, you have to learn to just roll with the punches sometimes and just take the crap that comes at you on a given day.
  10. Yep, I can't find a single thing wrong. Just a quick word of caution, we're trying to keep the violence level very 4-colors ish, so keep the killing blows and what not off screen most of the time. Otherwise, Approved.
  11. Rocket bends down and looks over the wine skins. "If the slime is only around the spouts, then it is quite unlikely someone had these on their person and then were attacked by the creatures. And it's quite unlikely that the creatures wanted something that was inside of the skins. They would probably just gobble the whole thing up. So... what were they used for? Unless... wait, what if this was how the creatures were released? If that's true then these skins could very well lead us to the culprit. And if we analyzed the material then we could find a way to contain these creatures." Rocket gets on the radio and relays his findings to the Police.
  12. I think the feat is way too powerful.
  13. Atlas needs to start getting out there and meeting new faces. I'll throw his hat in the ring.
  14. Ordinarily, Rocket would never result to measures such as this, but after mucking in the mud for a while, any excuse to get out of there was perfectly okay in his book. Rocket tore the lock right off the grate without a second thought. He stepped through and welcomed the fresh air and breathed several lung fulls before he turned his attention to the small bit of red stuff.
  15. *Takes a bow* I would like to wave my "Malice is #1 styrofoam finger" around in the air, but I'm pretty sure I just made it disappear.
  16. Like quote I am all settled in, and the move went quite well for me, so naturally there has to be some bad news in order to counter balance this. I do not have my own computer here at college so I am forced to use the computers in the library. This means my appearances on the boards shall be quite a bit more spotty. But I endeavor to still be here quite often.
  17. Damn, I was hoping I could at least get you to use some HP . Just a bruise.
  18. Guard toughness save vs Bel's attack DC 26 (1d20+7=9, 1d20+7=26) Accidentally rolled 2 toughness saves, I'll just take the first so that guard keels over. There isn't much to see right now as the cloaking field is still up. Status Update: Bunker 1 - Destroyed by Ronin and Knievel. Bunker 2 - Being attacked by Belphegor. 1 guard still alive, generator and building are gone. Bunker 3 - Everything is dead, Malice is moving towards next objective. Bunker 4 - Being attacked by Vestigue. All guards dead, building is gone, generator is damaged. 47 -- Vestige -- Unharmed -- VP x1 29 -- Captain Knievel -- Unharmed -- VP x3 23 -- Ronin -- Unharmed -- VP x1 18 -- Belphegor -- Unharmed -- VP x1 12 -- Troops 1 -- Malice -- Unharmed -- VP x3
  19. "Great... just great. I come all the way here and I find jack didly. Better do a once over before I head the otherway." says RRG to know one in particular as he searches the area. He makes sure to log the area on his GPS and then he heads back the way he came in, intent on following this until the he found something. He wanted to find something down here that made all this worth while.
  20. Alright, let's get that Will save out of the way first. Will save to break Scarab Concealment DC 20 (1d20+10=13) Alright, let's see if I can kill 3 birds with 1 stone here. Move Action - Stand up Free Action - Switch to Ground Pounder Mode Free Action - Power Stunt the following, and I'll hold onto my last HP so I'll be fatigued at the start of my next turn Standard Action - Ka-Boom Should be large enough to hit DS, Arrowhawk, Scarab, and blow a chunk out of the court house. Others may be hit, both those are my intended targets.
  21. With a groan, Malice sits back up. As he stands, his armor changes shape. He know resembles a tank more than anything else. From his posture you can tell that he's taking the gloves off. "I came here with the sole purpose of averting a miscarriage of justice; at any cost. You have forced my hand. I am sorry." This was his least favorite weapon to use due to the collateral damage, but if there was any one in his arsenal that could bring these heroes down, it was this one. Malice unleashed a massive store of energy and engulfed the entire area in a gigantic plume of devastating energy.
  22. Still didn't fix your toughness save. I'm getting 30pp on feats. I still have no idea what this means. Cryomancer powers. Why does he only have immunity to cold based effects in only one of his array slots? Seems like something an arctic ninja would have at all times.
  23. It's okay, we all make mistakes. It's only when you don't learn from them that we get to smack you upside the head :D

Things had been getting weird since that night, well besides the whole ability to turn into a giant monster thing. He was actually getting worse at his ability to use it. It would never last as long the second time he transformed as he did the first. He thought the powers were simply leaving him. "Easy come, easy go." thought Samael. That was before he started noticing the changes within himself. When he started going to the gym again, he noticed that he had gotten a lot stronger since last time. Also, he could run on the threadmill far longer than he had previously. The monster was getting weaker, but he was getting stronger. Was he turning into the monster? Samael didn't really see any other explanation. But it excited him more than it scared him. To him, the monster wasn't something to be feared as much as it was something to be embraced. Whatever it was, it had given him the power to do real good out in the world. He didn't lose himself to rage and madness when he transformed. He was calm, cool and collected. Okay, maybe he went a little nuts on a power trip, but really he was in control of his actions. He didn't cross any lines and he never hurt anyone too bad. Samael liked the experience to going on a roller coaster blind folded; he had no idea where the ride would take him, but he was pretty sure he would enjoy the ride.
  25. I can't anything wrong. Approved.
