Nuts, new there was a skill I forgot to give him ranks in. Search checks to find clues (1d20+4=22, 1d20+4=17, 1d20+4=14, 1d20+4=17, 1d20+4=13)

"I have a similar technology integrated into my suit already. Not nearly as potent, but I didn't suffer enough injuries for it to be a major issue. Also I tweaked your ring suit a bit. It should be enough to keep you warm, but if you start feeling cold, let me know. Also, there are some lights on it now so you can see what the heck you're doing." Malice enters the planet's atmosphere and begins scanning for the desired crystals. He finally finds a vein of crystals and sets the ship down in a large cavern, protected from the sheer winds. "According to the scanners there's a vast amount of crystals in this complex. Some of the passages are too small to take the ship, so we got to go spelunking. You ready?"

Not exactly an enlightening experience, but his heart is in the right place. Let's see if I can get to the bottom of this. Eric leave the police station and sets off. He wanted to scout the area where the attacks had occurred in the day time, to see if there were any clues. His visors functioned just as well at night as they did in the day, but seeing a hero out and about might put people's nerves at ease. And it would help if he found a clue when there were others awake to help him decipher it.

"We made pretty good time. I managed to sling shot us around one of the moons, and I've got a lead foot. We'll be there in about 10 minutes. But before we land, I want to show you something. See that bright speck out that window over there? No, little more to the left - yeah that one. That's the sun this planet is orbiting around. As you can imagine, this planet is cold as ****. My scanners don't indicate any life, but I'm not even sure what I should be looking for in this environment. This time, we're looking for a crystal." An image pops up on screen, of one of those long and thin naturally occuring crystals, like the ones that crop out of rocks. "Don't let that picture fool you, the kind we're after is about 3 feet long and weights a few hundred pounds. Specifically, we're looking for one with a golden vein running through it."

Assuming you use one of those HP to get rid of stunned, though why you wouldn't it beyond me.

Who says you can't find good help these days? pondered Eric for a moment, thankful that his mask was obscuring his face. Eric gave a grunt of understanding and nodded "Well it's definitely unlike anything I've seen before. I am hopeful that you're wrong about your... prime suspect, otherwise I could very well be over my head. But stranger things have happened, especially in this city. Thank you for your help Sergeant. I'll stake out the area to see what we're dealing with here."

Malice: The self righteous meta-hating master of heavy weapons, also known as Eric Micheals. He lost his arm when his base in Riverside exploded, but not his drive. Atlas: The biggest, baddest brute to ever dedicate his life to cleaning up the streets. Unknown, even to him, is that he's a weapon to be used by the Grue for their invasion of Earth. Armada: A robot miner of alien make now looking for a purpose here on earth. (Tier 1)

Malice goes to stow the prize of their venture away. When he comes back, he sees Captain sprawled out. "And what do you think you're doing? Come with me." Malice leads the Captain to a door that leads to a room about the size of a small shower. "Get in." When the Captain does, Malice seals the door again, and pushes the intercom button. "Welcome to the airlock. I'm tired of having you compromising my missions, once we're in orbit, I'm blasting you out into space." Malice lets the look of terror fully cross Captain's face "Nah! I'm kidding. It's an invention of mine." This weird green liquid begins pouring out of slits in the walls. The liquid is a little thicker than water, but not quite goop. "Think of it as a super strong version of Neosporin. It'll take us about 2 hours to reach the next planet. It's still in the same star system, so I can't go at Plaid anymore without either crashing into something or over shooting it. So get some rest."

"They are... what is word?... people who transport and sell weapons. They moved here not long ago. They had yet to get foothold in the area. I will stop them from doing so. If we can move them without fighting, that is good. But we will probably fight them. The last thing we need is more weapons on street. Will you help me?"

Quotemyname - Cryomancer - PL10 Villain (NPC Tier 1)
Geez3r replied to quotemyname's topic in Archived Characters
Stats, good. Combat, good, but I can't help but wonder why a powerful assassin like this has so few ranks in Defense. Saves, your toughness save is actually currently +13. 5 protection, 5 Defensive roll and 3 Constitution. Feats, good. Skills, good. Powers, I don't know what you mean by this, care to clarify? Now onto the array. Okay, for the first power, the Linked powers need to have the same range. In order to extend the range of one, you need to apply the power feat to the other as well. Ground Freeze to Uppercut Kombo: same issue as above Ice Clone: Firstly, I hate you for making me did out the rule book. Next: So if you limit it to a static illusion, you're already covered and don't need the sustained duration extra. Also, as is my understanding, the LINKED Extra would need to be a +1 Extra because they are technically being used separately. Next, Illusion is perception range, so you can't have the accurate power feat. Finally, there is the snare. Again, linked powers must have the same range. I'm not entirely sure how you could model this, I'll have to phone it in. -
Atlas chuckles for a moment. "You caught me in good mood. Normally I'd smack you for being stupid." Atlas holds up his left hand in prime back hand position for emphasis. You can't tell if he's joking or if he would really thump ya one. "Now... we might have some work to do. Those thugs just went to go tell their friends about the big scary monster. I wouldn't want their friend to think they are crazies." He adds cracking his knuckles, which sounds like muffled gun shots.
-
"So, 'I think I got him this time!' huh? Remind me to run the other way when you say 'this guy's too strong' and we'll call it even, alright? Now get your butt in gear, we're not going back until we got what we've come for. If you think gas prices are bad, you should see atomic rocket fuel." Malice offers the Captain a hand getting up, but that's about it before he takes starts his trek to the fruit.

Sorry Doc, I didn't see you had posted.

"A pleasure to meet you Sergeant, I just wish we were meeting under better circumstances." said Eric shaking Grigori's hand. There was a bit of a pause while neither of them said anything. Eric then spoke up again "I was hoping we could discuss this matter a little more privately?" Eric follows Grigori out of earshot of the reception area. "Thank you for seeing me. As you have already surmised, I came to discuss the case. I can't explain it, but something just isn't sitting right with me. So, I came here to offer my assistance to the police, and was hoping you would lend me some in return. While I am technologically apt, my investigative skills are... lacking. I'll help anyway I can, even if I'm just an extra pair of eyes."

Hey I may be PL 4, but that doesn't mean I'm a coward. Not being a coward doesn't make me effective though.

After a particularly long string of curses, Eric starts to scramble away from the creature. His confidence returns somewhat when the two others engage the target, putting a nice meat shield between him and the others. Scanning the ground, he finds a throwing axe and promptly chucks it at the creature. Unsurprisingly, it misses all involved by a wide margin.

Malice's chest plate bore the brunt of the blast, and he successfully weathered the attack. "HAH! Be with you in just a second; there's a few more layers of concrete I want to punch your friend through." Taunted Malice, who at the moment was feeling invincible... and then Dark Star turned up the gravity. Malice was yanked out of the air and slammed into the ground. I hate that guy.

My bad. Toughness save vs Dark Star blast DC 27 (I currently have 1 bruise) (1d20+11=29) Reflex save vs Dark Star Gravity Field DC 20 (1d20+3=18)

It doesn't work like that. You can't reconfigure your array mid-round, Dynamic or otherwise. You pick what your array is set at the start of the round, and that's it.

This is the way I've always thought about it: 12 Defense = 6 flat-footed 11 Defense = 5 flat-footed 10 Defense = 5 flat-footed 9 Defense = 4 flat-footed 8 Defense = 4 flat-footed 7 Defense = 3 flat-footed 6 Defense = 3 flat-footed 5 Defense = 2 flat-footed 4 Defense = 2 flat-footed 3 Defense = 1 flat-footed 2 Defense = 1 flat-footed 1 Defense = 0 flat-footed 0 Defense = 0 flat-footed
