  1. Initiative 1d20+0=4 Aww nuts. Ok. Just need to figure out my options at this point. Malice is no longer unconscious but is he still disabled? Do I roll the Failure check for the entire device or just each power as I wish to use them? How many villain points do I have, and do the ones from the original thread roll over?
  2. The problem is that the benefits and drawbacks of smaller and larger size are there because that's how physics work. You have trouble hitting a fly with a fly swatter not because it's very good at purposely dodging your attacks, but because it's a small target. Likewise, a fly has very little problem "hitting" you because you are a comparatively large target. You get the bonus to Stealth because you're smaller and therefore harder to see and can find odd places to hide in. Also, making a sustained duration power permanent is a (+0) flaw. The durations of powers are in ascending order: instant, concentration, sustained, continuous, permanent. Sustained lasts as long as you take a free action every round to maintain it, which can have consequences if you're stunned in combat. Continuous, once turned either on or off, lasts that way until you change your mind. Permanent is continuous that is stuck in on mode. Furthermore, a kitten would need the innate power feat on it's shrinking. Innate is not optional, if you need it, take it. You can mitigate these costs. A standard kitten has a very low Intelligence score and Charisma score, and Wisdom might not be all that high yet either. So setting Int and Cha to 2, and with Shrinking 12, you have 3 extra points. But really, if at this point, it's a normal kitten, you can just say "I have a kitten" and be done with it. As soon as you start giving the kitten powers and the like, we can't really bend the rules too much. If worst comes to worst, save up to buy a second point in minion.
  3. Welcome to the boards! Let's see if we can get this guy approved, we need more villains. Adds up. Do me a favor though and add "(Base Defense +2)" at the end of the Defense line. Also, for Knockback change it to "- 9 against Physical Impacts, -2 against everything else" I'm only counting 5 points here. You're toughness line is also needlessly complex, I'll get back to that in a moment. I'm counting 26 ranks here, you still got 2 more to spend. Adds up. For the Trip's area, denote whether it is a general area or a targeted area. Based on your descriptors I believe that it's a general area. Now onto Bouncing. I am personally fine with allowing you to break caps for falling and knockback damage, I can't speak for anyone else however. Impact Resistant makes it apply to all Physical Impacts, not all Physical damage. You would apply Impact Resistant to being hit in the head with a golf club, but not being stabbed with a hunting knife. It is my understanding that unless you are stunned by an attack, you can't be Knocked back. Now going back to your Toughness save. Would be a more appropriate way to model it. But we also run into a problem here. As a PL 6 character with a +4 Defense bonus, the highest Toughness save you should have is +8. Now while it's true that it's +10 only in a given circumstance, "Physical Impacts" would be something like being punched in the face, a rather common tactic in the super powered world. So take what I've said under consideration, while I run some of the Bouncing rules by the other mods.
  4. Good. Not sure why you have odd ability scores, but to each his own. Firstly, his defense should be +5 flat footed. Secondly, his knockback modifier would be -3 (-1 flat footed) which is 1/2 his toughness save, I'll get back to that in a moment. Thirdly, as far as I can tell, his Initiative should be +3, all from Dex. Adds up, but there is a small "problem". With a Defense of +10 and a Toughness save of +6, you are only PL 8 Defensively, and you're not at your full offensive caps for any of your attacks either. This means you'll have a bit of trouble dealing with foes that are "on your level". I just want you to be aware of this issue, if you're fine with it then so am I. Looks good. Adds up. The formatting needs a tweak. Try this instead: In addition, as it is currently, it looks like the Night Gun is over budget. Is the Stun an AP of the Obscure? Looks good.
  5. Works for me too. Approved.
  6. Stats, good. Combat, good. Saves, good. Skills, good. Feats, good. Powers, good. Approvals, you can has, is gift. One more to go and you can get to posting.

  8. I just finished playing through Half Life 2. Seriously. I played through the episodes soon after. Most of my video gaming is playing Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead, though the former much more than the latter. And last week I beat Ratchet and Clank: Up your Arsenal for the upteenth time.
  9. Ok. Talked it over with the other refs. Instead of doing Super Strength, go with Elongation (Flaw: Limited to helping with Escape Artist & Grapple checks) [0.5pp/rank], as that deals more with applying and acquiring proper leverage as opposed to pure brute strength.
  10. Not looking for life story, just where she went. I was basically trying to find out if anyone saw the prosecutor, who was just shown on national television, running down the hallway, which is packed with people trying to catch a glimpse of a very high profile case, or trying to keep a high profile villain from making a break for it, and what general direction she went in. So, under these circumstances, can I find someone who can say "She went that-away"?
  11. As a standard civilian, there wasn't really all that much for Eric to do. He went to the john and got a drink and still had 25 minutes to kill. There was of course plenty of chattering going on from all the spectators, but Eric really didn't feel like conversing with any of them. To most of them this was just like some over acted TV drama. Eric on the other hand could actually use that space between his ears and process what was going on. Something was nagging him though. Why had that prosecution attorney ran out of here? Originally Eric thought she just needed to go to the bathroom or something, or needed to fetch a file from an office. But they hadn't returned yet, and were no where to be found. She had been keen on giving her input to the attorneys through the whole trial, what would suddenly make her up and leave? It was in all likely hood nothing, but it was nagging Eric and he had... *checks watch* 22 minutes to kill. Eric started asking around, maybe somebody knew where she went.
  12. I have a sneaking suspicion as to who #4 is.
  13. Took a 1 on DJ's grapple check to beat Moira's. They're now grappling. He tried to demoralize Moira there, but her Intimidate is maxed so she beats him, and is not demoralized, no rolls required.
  14. Whatever this thing was, it sure as hell wouldn't go down without a fight. "I'll feast upon your innards for that worm!" Distressingly, the leverage DJ got from the force of the kick also allowed DJ fight Moria back into a standing position. As the continued to struggle DJ's mouth became malformed, stretching and growing to a sickening proportion. Moria's vantage point allowed her to see into the beast's maw and gaze at the dozens of razor sharp teeth and the saliva issuing from his mouth. "But don't worry my dear, you're still first on my list. Tell me, which do you think will taste better, your flesh or your screams?" And to top it all off, there was a sinking feeling in Moira's gut; it felt like the DJ was getting stronger.
  15. It appears that the "trippy stuff" isn't quite over yet. Beneath Moria's grasp, DJ's skin begins to writhe, boil and warp. His screams are rife with echoes and discord, yet he doesn't seem to be in pain. His body rapidly changes between one grotesque form and the next, though none the duo recognize. His form solidifies on what you might get if you mixed a wolf, bear and Moria together; in short, it's unnatural. A purple smoke slowly billows from his mouth, but is soon swallowed. "I Will Not be denied!" "Unhand me wench!" the demon cries as he strains against Divine's grasp.
  16. :? ... I knew that.
  17. "No thanks necessary, it's what I do. Alright, why don't you got call the police before these guys come to. And what about your friend over here? Should I drop him off at the hospital, or should we not move him?" Now that the bad guys had been beaten it was clear that Red Star had little idea on what to do next. Red Star may be an up and comer, but he is still very much a rookie.
  18. *Pulls out Paragon's book* I believe Doc is refering to "Network" The only other true mentalist they have is Mindbender, and I don't see anything like what Shaen's describing, with the exception of the Telelocation power UP 196.
  19. Alright then. It'll be something you add on later then. In the mean time, let's give blink 2.0 a once over. 2+8+6+6= 22 not 20. Adds up. Adds up. Adds up. Numerically adds up, but I caught something this time that I didn't last time. Attack Specialization 4 (grapple) can't stack with Attack Focus Melee 5. It's probably why you have a fiendishly high grapple modifier for a low strength character. Unless I'm mistaken it only adds to attack rolls, not to grapple checks, and as such, breaks caps. I suggest getting Super-Strength Flaw: Limited to grapple checks to get the boost to grapple checks if you still want it. You could give it the training descriptor and not have it be one of your powers, but you do have enhanced Strength as well so the choice is completely up to you. Adds up. So currently: 22+26+6+11+39+46= 150 power points. But you've got those 4 points from the Attack Specialization feats to move about.
  20. Didn't roll saves for the thugs who failed the reflex save as it was impossible for them. In case I didn't explicitly mention it before, spending a HP to negate fatigue on Extra Effort.
  21. Red Star crosses his arms over his face instinctively when the shots start firing. A ploom of red energy surrounds Red Star and protects him from harm. Opening his eyes tentatively, Red Star notices that he is still quite alright, and isn't bleeding too badly, this is a good sign. The shocked expressions on the faces of the thugs is even better. Red Star holds his arms out in front of him like he's holding a basketball, and the red energy begins to swirl into a ball in between his hands. When enough energy has been summoned, Red Star brings the ball of energy above his head, crying "Wrong guy to mess with!" before unleashing the energy in a wave before him, careful to avoid the hostage. The leader manages to escape most of the blast, and only the thug on the far right is as lucky. However, the gang leader is still overcome by the blast as is the last thug. The other thugs didn't stand a chance. Just like that the only one left standing is Red Star. Surverying the damage, Red Star gives a quick laugh "Hehe. Sorry if I scared you there. Lemme get you out of that thing." With a quick tear, Red Star busts the bonds holding Wilson. "What happened here?" he asked to the newly freed Wilson.
  22. Okay, talked to the other refs. First, to clarify normally using the long range teleport is a full round action. If you add in the Duration drawback, then it would take a full minute (10 rounds) to use, and would only net you 1 point. Secondly, having "Short range" and "Long range" teleport AP'd off of one another is a no-no, at least in their current form. If there were additional flaws or extras to differenciate them, or if they weren't both accurate, I would classify it as a "maybe". Thirdly, for Whirling Dervish, you'll have to pay for the potential damage from sneak attack just like you would for a higher strength or strike rank. IE: Lemme look the powers over some more, and I might have some suggestions to what you can tweak to get it all under budget. But, you might have to cut some stuff and then add it back when you start playing and earning power points.
  23. ... :? Can you dumb it down a tad?
  24. No problem Doc. *cough* *cough* You should really get that cough looked at. If only there were a Doktor around...
  25. *Borrows Doc's Neuralyzer* 8-) *Flashes Neuralyzer* Thank you for participating in our drill. Had this been an actual emergency, y'all would have been *eaten*. 'Cause you don't listen! You're ignorant! How's a man gonna come crashin' through the back of a subway win - that's the problem with all y'all New Yorkers! "Oh no, we've seen it all!" "Oh no, a 600 foot worm, save us Mr. Blackman!" I ask you nicely to move forward to the next car, y'all just sit there like... *Flashes Neuralyzer again* The City of New York would like to thank you for participating in our drill. Hopefully you enjoyed our smaller, more energy-efficient subway cars. Watch your step, you all have a nice evening. (Guess who just got done watching MIB 2)
