All courthouses and law offices in FC have the following: Quickness 8 (x500 speed) Flaw: Limited to Legal Proceedings It's just weird timing with the Malice and CapK threads. They started about the same time IRL, but in game, concluded months ago. Malice is currently at the original time for the trial, and his house will be blowing up later this week.
-
Oh I'm not concerned about the thread being crowded. There should be a healthy mix of looking for survivors, giving them medical attention, and combating/cornering Malice to go around. Reminds me of the fight scene in matrix reloaded where all the Smiths keep coming out of the woodwork.

6 is the one we care about here, though you can be sure I'll be using 3 and 4 for Malice's defense. Also, in regards to the legal process, there is also a pre-trial which acts ;like a meeting of the minds. This is where the defense and the prosecution come together to discuss the particulars of the case, and mutually agree on what and what did not occur, so as not to tie up the court's time agreeing with one another.

Just a quick head count to make sure I've got everyone sorted out Myself - PL 12 Arrowhawk - PL 11 Dr. Metropolis - PL 11 Avenger - PL 12 Dark Star - PL 11 Phantom - PL 10 Ace Danger - PL 10 The Mariner - PL 6 Sen - PL 6 I miss anyone and/or are we expecting anyone else?

Malice had just gotten out of the shower. It's only 10am, he just finished his morning routine and went downstairs to get some work done, then BOOM!!! There goes everything. The sympathy however gets a little mitegated however when you realize "work" means "plotting to destroy the vanguards of Truth, Justice and the American way".

Oh I figured I need to be conscious before considering spending VP for the disabled, meaning I had to recover from Unconscious naturally. So 10 rounds of just laying there most definately passes. But by the same token, as soon as the Refs give me the go ahead for Malice putting his face back together and recover from Disabled, I will do so, with the possible exception of being under seige from heroes at the time.
-
Oh sure. Great going. You just made my inner rules lawyer cry. I hope you're happy. Okay. So quick look over the rules for healing. So you get a recovery check for Unconscious every minute, and Disabled... 1/day. Ewwie. "And Sir Robin bravely ran away." To get it out of the way Recovery check for Unconscious DC 10 (1d20+6=23) Refresh my memory, can spending VP/HP speed the healing process of Disabled? If my memory is right, then it can't, but I could very well be wrong.

 That's well over a rank 30 attack. Alright, guess I need to edit my post then.

Every once in a while, life decides that your day is going to suck, and there's not really all that much you can do about it. All you can really do is just grit your teeth and ride it out. But unfortunately, some of us don't even get that option. No. Some of us just have years of blood, sweat and tears swept away in an instant. Gone. Just gone. And nothing you say or do can bring it back, no matter how desperately you want to. But what's even worse than that, is when you can see it coming. Even knowing, just for a single second, that you're about to lose everything AND there's not a damn thing you can do about it, strikes a mortal wound to your very soul. So when you take all of this together, and bundle together with being blown up and being lit on fire, and you will have the universe's equivalent of a "$%^& you!" that was just hand delivered to Malice this early Sunday morning. Malice's broken body was pitched quite some distance. A significant portion of his armor was charred, and several pieces simply weren't there anymore. Shrapnel was embedded in the suit, almost everywhere it could go, making Malice look like some sort of disfigured porcupine. A rather large piece of shrapnel had actually gone right through the armor, lacerating Malice across the chest, where he now bled heavily. If it weren't for the life support systems, Malice would already be dead.

Just need to bring myself up to speed real quick and clarify a few things. The explosion was rank 24, which would make it a base DC 39 Toughness save correct? I rolled a 29 on my Toughness save (after spending a VP), so I would ordinarily be stunned & staggered because I failed by 10. But because explosions lose 1 rank per 10 ft, and Malice was not at ground zero, I actually failed by less than 10. This means that I would be Stunned and Bruised (possibly Injured), but not staggered, correct? Second issue, are we factoring in knockback? Malice would still be in the vicinity, but Arrowhawk would not, so I assume that the answer is no. But then again, Arrowhawk blowing himself out of his own thread would be quite funny, not for Ecal though. :D

Doc, do you mind throwing some of that creativity my way? Trying to do one for Malice based on Shiver My Timbers from Muppet Treasure Island, progress is quite slow. -
I like how Malice, who is the resident gun nut, doesn't have any really large and devestating area of effect attacks. He's got the mini-sidewinder missles, but that targets 11 squares. Granted, nothing to sneeze at, but not nearly as nuts as like: Damage 12 Extras: General Area Burst PFs: Progression 12 (60,000ft radius) Which is something Malice could do, if the refs all went temporarily insane anyways. But really, most of Malice's attacks are either single target, or just a handful of specified targets. He prefers to keep collateral damage to a minimum so as not to hurt the innocent people he believes he's protecting. But I think due to this recent turn of events, Malice might start seeing the benefits of being able to blow up a square block and several medelling superheroes who happen to occupy it. Malice isn't a bad guy, he's just misunderstood

For everyone of you that says that, my chances of survival drop by like 26%. I started at like 14.

Sorry, I was unexpectedly busy for the past few days, and hadn't noticed you posted. Gimme a bit to refresh my memory on what's happening and to try and unsurface my notes.

Eric Micheals also made an appearance at the trial. He of course had not been present for any of the Captain's escapades *cough* but never the less had a stake in the proceedings. The Captain had assaulted Dr. Archeville, who Eric had a vested interest in. It was his duty to ensure that the one who attempted to damage the assets of his company were brough to justice. He also wanted the opprotunity to speak with Dr. Archeville breifly, and appologize for not attending his latest lecture. Funnily enough, Malice was also at the trial, though incogneto. He had studied a bit about legal proceedings, but there would likely be a great insight into a trial that has yet to take place, but one that he would be greatly interested in; his own. Furthermore, the Captain was not likely to take this lying down. If he thought for a moment that he could escape, he would assuredly do so. If there were somehow to be a great commotion while he was trying to make his escape, he just might succeed, and that would be a tragedy.

Please, any heroes that feel like they would want to bow out are more than welcomed to do so For once, Malice legitamately needs moar DAKKA.
-
Huh, Malice has Connected, and a passable Diplomacy, and Knowledge: Civics, but I as a player can't think of anything for him to do that doesn't scream "I R A VILLAIN LULZ" Any suggestions?
-
First roll Toughness Save vs the Giant Explosion DC ??? (1d20+14=18) VP reroll Toughness Save vs Giant Explosion DC ??? - Villain Point Reroll (1d20+14=29)
-
... I think Malice may now hold the record for largest amount of VP due to complications. Let's check the list shall we: Lost house, lost HQ, lost secret ID, lost years of research, lost main ammo supply, lost most of his Benefits, gains a rather sour reputation (even more so than the old one), alerts the Freedom League to his presence, alerts the cops to his presence, lost his tenious grip on sanity, and, depending on the results of the explosion, lost limb(s) Probably got the record if half of those count. :o
-
Eric will be there, though probably not to bust him out. Eric attends the trial under the guise of worry for the Doc's well being, both because he is an investment and a fellow scientist. Although observering the wheels of justice (possibly to gain insight into his own inevitable trial), Eric/Malice is there predominantely to laugh at the Captain. If however, the Captain tries to escape, and looks like he just might succeed, Eric will dash out of the room (like an good civillian should ) and grab a quick change in attire.
-
We can always hope.

For all intents and purposes, it is a completely normal, run of the mill subburb. Whatever you consider "standard fare (fair?)" it's there. Malice's house/bunker is the only truly noteworthy thing around, or well, was. It's supposed to be a bit of a smaller neighborhood, so the houses probably aren't right on top of on another, but still quite close.

Maybe now he'll slow down enough for the rest of us to catch up. Congrats AA.
