Not a problem Doc, just let me know what the refs decide. I'd like to have Impervious 14, but I'm not going to fight over it. Now I just have to ponder what to get instead of Impervious if this gets shot down. *ponders*
-
And no one will have to deal with Malice 14 Impervious and his Blast 12 Auto-fire, or his Paralyze 12. But I guess you'll have to deal with PL 10.75 Malice instead of the full 11.

Explanation of Malice's Arrays Flight Array: In order to maximize ariel velocity, a significant portion of the external armor for the Mantle of Freedom must be compartamentalized. When maintaining Flight is no longer an issue, a mild transformation occurs and the rest of the armor "folds out". This also leads to increased stability, as the weight distribution becomes more equalized. Weapons Array: Righteous Riot - Hit things, possibly with fists. 2nd Amendment - Mini-gun, American made of course. Liberation Cannon - Mini-sideswinder missle barrage Shock and Awe - Sonic pulse that messes with biometrics.
-
Essentially, in order to maintain flight, there are various different exhaust ports where the lift is generated. Feet for quick maneuvering, back for high speed, hands for stability, and so on. While Flight is engaged, there are essentially gaps in the armor making the user more vulnerable to damage. Upon landing, the armor changes form slightly to cover any of the gaps, protecting the user. Furthermore, the armor no longer has to be aero-dynamic, allowing for its new form to be a bit bulkier and offer more protection. If you're leery about Impervious 14, knock it down to whatever you feel is appropriate, and then we'll go from there.

It gets better once you factor in Doc's shoulder daemons. The good one votes for Eric and the evil one votes for Benjiro. Doc may or may not know one of both of the others identities, and furthermore he may or may not pit Malice and Shinken against one another to see who has the better technology.

Malice has taken pains to conceal his normal ID, so it is basically unknown to everyone with the possible exception of a mad scientist or two. That being said, a red, white and blue power suit, not being the traditional American hero is a easy way to get noticed. Those in the know have noticed that Malice actually does a rather limited amount of property damage (relatively speaking). He is a lot like surgical dynamite; he goes in, attacks his target, bit of damage to the surrounding area, and then moves on. Eric Micheals aka Malice likes a semi-public life. Those in his line of work (weapons manufacture) know him on sight, others will look right past him. He's the majority stockholder of Darts Inc. which was recently bought out by Ares Macrotech, as well as their head researcher. He's got money, but if and what he spends it on is a bit of a mystery. Owns a small home in Riverside. Red Star - 5 minutes on Google will give you his home address and phone number. Lives in the West End in a small apartment on the 5th floor. Believes having powers is just about the coolest thing ever. Hasn't had his powers for too long. He likes to fly around the city taking pictures; he's an awful photographer, but gets good angles.

Wait, I've noticed a few things too. First round: Je'La uses shockwave to attack arrowhawk and spartan. Spartan rolls Reflex save DC 15 and passes, rolls Toughness save DC 17, fails by 6 and is stunned and bruised. As he acts that round, he obviously spent a HP to negate the stunned. What I found when I looked that the search history however, is that this was the 6th toughness save and the 9th Relfex saved that Ben rolled to save against this attack. All of which were made within 3 minutes of each other. Seriously. So ignoring the whole rolling issue, Spartan now has 1 bruise and 2 HP's. Next, Spartan rolls opposed grapple, without rolling to hit first. Goofed again. Then next round, Spartan rolls towards Je'La and grapples here, rolling his acrobatics check twice and grapple check 3 times. Using a different account to keep track of the rolls. Nothing wrong here, except this is where I'm getting this info from now. Next round when Spartan crit Je'La, this was of course the second attack roll vs Je'La, the first having been a 2. At this point, Spartan also spent a HP for a Double move. So 1 HP left, and 1 bruise. Spartan then rolled a notice check to hear what the Captain was saying... 3 times. Everything from this point out is done correctly near as I can tell. So assuming Spartan never used any HP for any of those 19 rerolls he has 1 bruise, making his Toughness save a +7, and 1 HP remaining. At the very least, we should charge you 1 HP for that "crit" scored on Je'La so you have no HP remaining.

Well, you could do it properly for one thing I showed you the proper page numbers and everything. Had you bother to read the rules, you would note that a character of your strength can destroy the bonds as a full round action.
-
He rolled a 14 on the save originally, odds aren't really too much in his favor. It's much easier to just spend the HP to ignore the stunning.
-
Or if you're like me, tweak your trade offs every PL so the resulting values remain even and side step the entire issue, and save up until you can buy full defense.
-
Shouldn't there also be a +5 on the DC because she rolled a natural 20 on the ranged attack roll and crit?
-
Red Star would totally be up for another bout. Pretty much open to any game type, I'm not really one for creating new story lines though.
-
Quote you could try to escape you know. You can take a full round action to break the object as per the rules on the top of page 167 in the core books.
-
Let's not argue over semantics. If you'll appologize I'll only break a few bones  I love villains so very much. Especially the ones with questionable sanity.

When the arrow struck Malice's chest the first words that went through his mind were words one could not utter in front of children. But he needn't have worried however as the suit shrugs off the attack, after falling maybe 10 feet. An EMP? On an arrow? That's pretty impressive. Futile and misguided, but impressive. I'll have to snag a few of those arrows for study. Shame he got on my bad side, he could've gone far

Messed up a bit when doing the rolls. I had done the first one thinking that I had changed the # of rolls to two so that's why both defenses are displayed. Because I didn't do so, and Moira's defenses were shown first, that roll is used against her. The 2nd roll is obviously against the Captain, which was incidentally a critical hit. The Captain needs to make a Reflex save DC 28, or suffer the effects of a Snare. Should the Captain fail said save by more than 5, he will be bound and helpless, and also take damage from a rank 6 attack until he escapes the bonds.

Distressingly, this new form of the DJ, or whatever it was, seemed quite capable of taking your combined attacks. "Hahehe. My turn." The same purple fire that glows upon DJ's eyes now collects on his hands. He does a cross slash and a line of purple flames streaks out towards Moira and the Captain. Upon hitting anything, the flames immediately wrap around their target, hindering their movements with fell magic while simultaneously burning them alive.

It was at this very moment that Malice arrived on the scene. Ordinarily, a being clad in red, white and blue would be a good sign, but it boded ill for several of the other oddly dressed particpants there. "Sorry it took so long..." he called over the comm link to the Captain. "... but I was told there would be more explosions." Malice didn't recognize who most of the people were, nor which sides were which, but he did see Arrowhawk shoot the Captain quite a few times, and that was good enough for him. Unsure of his opponents skill, Malice decided it best to get a measure on his adversaries abilities before closing. To that end, Malice throws down a volley of bullets towards Arrowhawk. Either Malice's accuracy isn't very good, Arrowhawk is quick on his feet, or one shouldn't be using a mini-gun at long range. Out of personal preference (and arrogance) Malice picked the second option as the likely choice.
-
I'm writing this prior to any rolls I make on my turn. Malice's 2nd Amendment attack has a range increment of 110 ft, or 120ft if you're reading this after the updates got approved. To be on the safe side, I'll include a -2 penalty to Malice's attack roll for being past 1 range increment. If you feel like Malice is within at least 110ft of Arrowhawk, feel free to count the attack as 2 points higher. I'm rolling the dice with the standard assumption that the approval has yet to be made so it is base DC 26 instead of 27 (blast 11 instead of 12).

Following MBCE's advice, Red Star may or may not be on his way here. Initiatice result = 16. Assuming no one has objections of course.
-
To reinterate, not part of the suit. It's some practice he did off screen using a tool that happened to be a computer program.

I'm going to spend all of Malice's unspent points (5). WARNING: Wall of Text. I'll spend a point to buy 2 ranks in Notice and 2 ranks in Search. After the abyssmal performance in Welcome to a Modern World, Malice has been running programs that improve his ability to pick up on details. Updated skills section: I'll spend 4 points to buy another rank in device. With those points, I'll bump up the Weapons Array to rank 18. Increase Enhanced Strength by 1, and Super strength by 1 {3}. The points will filter through the array, bumping the other attacks up 1 rank. I'll then buy 1 AP for the array: Paralyze 12 Extras: Alternative Save Fort (+0), Range - Ranged  Decription - A sonic pulse at a certain frequency wreaks havoc on the body's internal systems. Furthermore, I'd like to buy an AP off Flight: * AP: Impervious 6; Immovable 2 Extras: Unstoppable Updated Powers section:  Upgrading the weapons array is just standard stuff. I got the idea for the Flight AP from StarCraft 2 honestly. There's a terran flying unit, that can change into a ground unit. Either Malice can fly all about doing whatever, or he hunker down into gun turret mode. Thank you.

@ Ecal - Sounds good, but perhaps that thread should end first @ MBCE - Sounds good, quick synopsis of what's happened so far? @ Doc - I just posted on Power Check earlier today. I really hope he comes back. Red Star hasn't done a placement test, so I need to get on line.

PART 3  Distracting represents the fact that it is cumbersome to weild, and VD represents all the crap that is crammed on the gun. Not entirely sure if you can buy 3 points of Variable Descriptor, but I just wanted to show how much crap was loaded onto the gun. Detect Weakness is an obvious choice. Assessment and Rapid just for thematic sense. Notice for better ability to pick out the traits that are exploitable. Knowledges to represent that bio about the critter that pops up on screen. As an aside, Malice didn't forget the other 2 tests that are still part of this stage. He was just really proud of himself with this one.

PART 3 This is where things started to get a little interesting. The exploits were getting a little harder to notice but still doable. This meta was someone from Eastern Europe. Her name didn't quite translate into English that well, not at least with Eric's mastery of other languages, but it roughly came out to mean "the mesmerizing fury". Which was quite an apt description. Eric had gathered that her ability was to shapeshift and alter her form. Curiously, she could only change into forms of mythological creatures, such as minotaurs, sphinx (sphinxes ???) and vampires. Even more curiously, she seemed to also possess the mythological abilities of the creatures she transformed into, such as a hydra's ability to regenerate it's heads (much to the surprise of her adversary). But what Eric had noticed is that she possessed the same weaknesses of those creatures as well. Now the question was how on earth one could defeat someone who change their abilities on the fly? Thankfully, Eric was struck with inspiration and figured out a way around that particular issue. The idea was of course to change the arsenal as she changed her forms. To that end, slapped every single thing he could think of, with the exception of maybe the kitchen sink, on the weapons. He added a modulator that could change what electromagnetic signature it had, from infrared to visible light to gamma radiation. It could emit various levels of heat, or lack there of. There was also a feature to load up bullets on various chemicals just prior to their firing. All of this extra junk of course made the weapon rather large and unweildy, and it kicked like an angry mule. Now the main draw of the weapon was of course the fact that it could of course use nearly any sort of desired effect, but that was a moot point if you didn't know which effect to use. To that end, Malice constructed a program that would cross reference the appearance of the target with various databases to determine what sort of weaknesses it possessed. The fabrication processwent fantastically well for the gun, everything came together without a hitch. But due to that success Malice got a little over confident in his abilities and didn't pay as much attention to the wiring of the visor and recieved a shock for his troubles. After a string of explitatives, and a few paces around the table to calm his nerves, Malice sat back down at the table. Either fortunately or unfortunately for Eric, he had been the subject to various set backs when designing inventions so this particular set back didn't bother him too much and he was able to complete the task easily. Pleased with his progress, Malice threw his hands up in their air in triumph "I rock. Let's see what else you've got planned for me."
