  1. Okay, so most of the threads I'm in with Malice and/or Red Star are winding down, so I need some more threads to occupy my interest. Anyone feeling up for any games with either character? I'm open to all takers right now.
  2. I'd be interested. If it's allowed, I would have to get some more milage out of Book of Nine Swords, if not, put me down for a barbarian. Needs to play me some Thud-Splatter-Graft.
  3. Does Malice see this signal flare? Why yes. Yes he does. My first round is simply arriving on the scene officially.
  4. DJ totally made his save against the Captain. So just waiting for Moira to finish her post.
  5. Nice. Any word on Mecha and Manga yet?
  6. Still around, just a little creatively drained right now. I should be back in the swing of things shortly.
  7. Ah okay. So let's say its a 1-mile radius because I have a general idea of where he is. That moves it 4 levels up the Extended Time table, making the base time 1 hour. It's base DC of 10 to ransack an area to find a certain object. You can add +5 to the DC to speed up the time. It'll be DC 15 to find it in 20 minutes, DC 20 to find it in 5, and DC 25 to find it in 1 minute. Any higher than that and Malice can't make the DC at all. So Malice tries to find Captain in a minute, and fails horribly. Unless there is a way to directly give Malice your position, he won't be able to find you for at least another 10 rounds.
  8. Oh yeah, totally forgot about that. Yeah, you each get 1 more HP/VP respectively. A 13 won't hit unfortunately. I probably won't be able to post that much today as I was just reminded of a prior engagement that will keep me occupied for quite a time.
  9. Aww poor quote. He gets to deal with me being an evil GM in two games today
  10. Fear once again fills the DJ's eyes. He takes a hesitant step backwards, and his eyes flick between the pair of you as he contemplates his fate. He pauses like that for a moment, before turning and bolting away from the two of you as fast as his legs will carry him. The crowd turns back to normal. They're hurt, some of them pretty badly, and they're all very confused, but they're back to normal. Even the creepy music stops. In short, its your complete and utter victory. Really. I mean, it has to be. ...Right? Right? Well, no. No. Just no. Unfortunately for our .... heroes...? DJ Anarchy gets maybe about 20 paces away before crumbling to the ground as if he was struck by an unseen force, and he unleashes a blood curdling scream that pierces the night. Like some kind of twisted marionette, he whirls around to face you again, with his limbs seemingly beyond his own control. DJ Anarchy's eyes erupt in a purple flame, and with them, the music blares back into existence. But the mysterious quality of the music is gone. All that is left in its place is inescapable darkness. A new voice issues from DJ Anarchy's mouth proclaiming YOU DARE TO FAIL ME MORTAL!? I WILL NOT BE DENIED MY VENDETTA! THIS CITY BURNS!" There is one upshot to all this though. The crowd isn't under his control any more. But they are really panicked and just start running in every direction that isn't toward the DJ.
  11. Malice is looking everywhere for the battle. A 12 on Notice check for those too lazy to click the link. If that's enough for finding the battle, then Malice is officially on the scene, if not, well he needs better glasses after this.
  12. Malice is in the general vicinity, but can seem to find you (rolled a 1 on Notice for a grand total of 5). He also got 15 for Intitative for when he gets their, eventually.
  13. "I'm close, I can see a lot of people running away from what I assume is your fight. I can hear some explosions in the distance too, but I don't have an exact bead on your location. I can't be more than 20 seconds away. What's the situation?" Malice continued to scream across the skyline and after a moment paused and added "Can't see **** Captain." But Malice remained vigilant in preperation for the battle to come.
  14. As the Captain's Epi punch solidly connects, DJ Anarchy mangages to roll with the punch avoiding any serious injury.
  15. Malice is on his way. We'll say that it takes Malice 4 rounds to do whatever in his base to get ready, plus another round to put on the suit. Then 1 round moving all out to get in the general vicinity, and from there we'll see which prevails first, Malice's failing eyes or Captain's penchant for making a scene. Sound fair to everyone? We'll say that 2 rounds have passed. Captain called just before combat started.
  16. =============== Meanwhile in Riverside =============== Eric had taken some time off on creating the new weapon modification. For some reason, about on the 7th or so shot, the system would short out. Eric had yet to find a reason why, and rather than lose his temper, he put it aside. He did a few soduko puzzles to calm his nerves, while still keeping his mind active. He was a little more than halfway through his 3rd puzzle when a voice came in over the radio, it was the Captain. He was off doing what he did best, interrupting his daily routine with sheer stupidity. But a chance to blow things up was a chance to blow things up. Eric walked over to wear the Mantle of Freedon lay waiting. He wasn't exactly in a rush, the Captain could take (and probably deserved) a good thrashing or two. After the suit was on, Malice took the back entrance out of the bunker, which connected into the sewer. After traveling for a few blocks in the sewer, he left for the clearer (and far better smelling) skies of Freedom. "I'm on my way." Malice said over the radio. After gaining some altitude, Malice made a bee line for Downtown, keeping an eye out for signs of the Captain's fight.
  17. As Moira unleashes her roar, a deafening silence falls over the woods. Not a thing dares to move or even draw attention to itself. Even the DJ has the fear of god put into him. He however doesn't have much of a luxury of wondering about the horrors he has brought upon himself, for Moira's fists plant themselves on his skull. A deafening crack echoes throughout the woods, but the DJ seems unharmed scared, but unharmed. An enraged DJ pulls back his fist and does his level best to clock Moira as hard as he can but he falls just short of his mark. Was that fear in his eye just now? The DJ's relentless swagger seems to be fading fast, but what will take its place? You get the feeling that you would much rather not find out.

You made a thread where a collection of dorks geek out about their characters, what else did you expect? :D
  19. PART 2  Unreliable - limited ammo, full round - be extra careful so you don't waste ammo, Additional save - its a crap shoot it it'll work or not  After the past 3, I needed to do a simple one.
  20. Alrighty. PART 1  Full Round action because you need more time to line up the perfect shot, Unreliable for the limited amount of special bullets made, Limited vs those w/protection - took a page out of the shotgun's entry because they're bullet fragments rather than bullets, Additional save - You can duck out of the way of the paste as it shatters. Touch range because goop loses efficiency very fast, Unreliable as before because of limited ammo, Full Round and Distracting because the attack works much like a fire extinguisher would

Go ahead, I've got so few ranks in Notice it's amazing I hit the right keys half the time. Yeah, you have to cut a surprising amount of junk to fit 250 PP. Because in your mind's eye building your character at PL 14 would be like the ultimate power trip, so you throw on all the bells and whistles. But the mind's eye is unfortunately very bad at math, so without some serious stat-fu you can't afford too much. Super Malice originally had his entire weapons array linked to this Power: But it was entirely too silly.
  22. Going to be running around a lot this weekend. May or may not be able to post.
  23. *Adds another one to the list*

The Bad * Deranged Prophet - When in the presence of 25 people or more, Malice must make a DC 15 Will save, +1 for every step the crowd moves up on the Time and Value Progression Chart or preach to the crowd about the dangers of metas, regardless of the practicality or potential danger of said actions. * Massive Ego - Malice must take every opportunity to brag about his accomplishments. The Ugly * Round the bend - Due to a combination of any or all of the following: past failures, imprisonment, the Captain, government and public outcry, discovery of Dr. Archeville's true nature, and manipulation of various nefarious forces (ie: Omega, Crime League). Malice's sanity isn't quite so intact anymore. * They're all against me - Due to years of mistrusting most of everyone, Malice starts as unfriendly towards any NPC, and auto-fails any check to resist believing that others have sinister motivations against him. DC Block: Unarmed, "Naked" -- DC 19/Toughness -- Damage Unarmed, "Righteous Riot" -- DC 31/Toughness -- Damage Blast 16 -- 31/Toughness -- Damage (Autofire) Blast 15 -- 30/Toughness -- Damage (Indirect 3) Fatigue 15 -- 25/Fortitude -- Fatigue (Staged, Sedation, Improved Critical x2) Drain 12 -- 22/Fortitude -- Drain (all Saves) Snare 16 -- 26/Reflex -- Snare (Constricting, 8 damage) Blast 14 -- 29/Toughness -- Damage Blast 14 -- 19/Toughness -- Damage (Perception, Variable Descriptor x2, Affects Insubstantial x2, Indirect x2) Corrosion 16 -- 26/Fortitude AND 31/Toughness -- Drain Toughness; Damage (Usable only while charging) Costs: Abilities (44) + Combat (44) + Saves (10) + Skills (32) + Feats (14) + Powers (100) - Drawbacks (04) = 240 / 250 **** Cookie if you get the reference. Well, it's safe to say that DAKKA is really, really expensive but oh so totally worth it. "The Button" was just thrown in their for laughs. By laughs I of course mean covering ~153,860,000 sq. ft. area in a rank 14 Blast, as a standard action.  Using Detect Weakness to find out an enemy's weakness and then exploiting it using a nice Perception range effect tailor made to combat you is also quite fun. It would be hysterical if the mods actually allow it too  Similarly there is no way any reasonable GM would allow Due Process without at least a month's salary as a bribe. Other than those shenanigans however, it's a pretty straight forward deal. Malice has obviously been hitting the gym in this instance, so he's technically PL 8 out of his armor. A little more expensive that way, but could be a literal life saver. His offense is quite high all around though, and is no slouch defensively either with Impervious 16 and a base Defense of +10. His saves are however just about equal to what they are now. They're decent but won't be incredibly awesome. Skill wise, Malice is still very much the same, just a bit better. Picked up Intimidate and Gather Info as well, possibly from jail time. Really ramped up Notice as well. Through some Intimidate on the suit for obvious reasons. What's the deal with the Good, the Bad and the Ugly? Well I see Malice's career panning out in 1 of 3 ways right now. In "The Good" he is redeemed and brought to the side of good. He comes to realize that the metas aren't bad in and of themselves, so he has to judge each individual by their own actions. He now crusades to right the wrongs he has done to the world, and then plans to make the world a better place than when he entered it. In "The Bad" scenario, Malice actually achieves a degree of success in his vendetta. This serves only to fuel his determination. He leads a crusade against super powered peoples the world over. In this process he becomes completely full of himself, convinced now more than ever that he is the greatest hope this world has for salvation. In "The Ugly" scenario, Malice just flat out snaps when nothing goes his way. He tries time and again, but he never comes out on top. Add into this people hating him, never giving credit for what he does, and just general disillusionment with the world around him, and it's only a matter of time until Malice snaps. He becomes reclusive and paranoid, assuming everyone is out to get him. He goes from hiding in a corner for fear that anyone is after him, to leveling city blocks so they don't get to him first.
  25. PART 2 Feeling pleased with his success, Malice took off the newly designed weapons and got ready for the next task. The next one shown was Hiroshima Shadow. Aww nuts... was the first thing to do through Malice's head, and rightfully so. But after replaying the clip a few times Malice notices something amiss. In the clip, Shadow had recently escaped from custody it seems. He was raiding a nuclear facility. Malice noticed that his attacks were significantly more powerful, after he had absorbed some radiation from the surrounding environment. So the question was, how to keep Hiroshima Shadow from absorbing radiation? The answers came quite easily to Malice. He has been dabbling in the idea of nuclear power for his base, specifically before he implemented it, he wanted to be sure he had a fool-proof "OH S---!!!" button, in case things got out of hand. The first was a compound Eric had devised that could hypothetically halt the chain reaction process of a nuclear reaction. It worked much like the concept of a control rod in that it stopped all the particles from running into each other. The reason that Eric hadn't marketed it (and made millions) is that it was an all or nothing deal that only worked some of the time. If it worked, no more reaction (for a while) and if not, then you are wasting your time. Not really something you want to do in the case of an imminent nuclear meltdown. But could work quite well as the tips of bullets against a radio active madman. Bullets were of course no use if you died before you could use them. That's why Eric developed a radiation shield of sorts. It was made of a sort of hard light generator that made a near invisible field of energy that would minimalize the damage done by radiation, at least in theory. Again, Malice had little trouble bringing his inventions into the 3rd dimension.
