  1. Okay, maybe it's not soooo bad to be encouraging him. Malice looked back at the Captain as if he were seeing him in a new light. Striding towards the Captain Malice said "Spring cleaning huh? I'm not going to lie, I like the sound of that. But if it were so easy to do, I would have done so by now. So my question is, what exactly are you proposing?" Malice walks over to the edge of the roof top, and motions at all the buildings with one of his arms "The part about this particular enemy, is that they can be anyone. Furthermore, anyone who uses their abilities publically is confident enough in them to put their life on the line on a daily basis, and their confidence tends to be well placed. Our choices are to either fight the swine or the gods; which do you propose?"
  2. Hrmmm, I had always thought of it as Eric buying some of the stuff legit out of his own pocket, but going through several dummy corporations so it would be hard to trace directly back to him. That being said, I am totally willing to throw that all out the window for the sake of plot But the question remains, how to get Malice and Shinken in a slug fest without either knowing who the other is inside the suit, at least at first.
  3. Don't expect anything from the Know: Tech roll, I was making it on prinicple more than anything. Just to symbolize that it's eating at him, essentially. All rolls by have factored in Malice Power Attacking for full, bumping the DC to 33.
  4. Alright, this is seriously creeping me out... Malice internally remarked at the appearance of the droids. Figuring that it wouldn't be a proper test of the suit's capabilities if he simply filled the droids with lead until they stopped functioning, and that he wanted to get a closer look at the droids, he decided to get his hands dirty in a manner of speaking. "Command: Weapons Array - Primary Setting" Feeling the power surge through his suit, and hearing that serene hum produced by the strength enhancing systems, Malice charged at the first droid and promptly put his fist through the face of the droid. Pulling his fist out he remarked "I never do get tired of that sound." Malice then made his way to the ironically slow moving Jonny Rocket droid. Pulling back his punch, Malice had a sudden thought Wait. I can do much better. Malice snatches one of the fake Jonny's ankles with one hand, before grabbing the other with his free hand and wish-boning Johnny Rocket. And just like that, Malice doesn't mind the very realistic holograms so much anymore. In high spirits, Malice flies in a few circles around the room before delivering a strong uppercut to a girl he should really know, but can't place right now. He makes a mental note to go over his files when the session is done. And then there was one. This one bearing a striking resemblence to Eldritch. Malice really had no way to truly judge this man. In effect, he used a science that was entirely unknown to him. Malice wasn't sure if it was easier, or if it just looked more powerful, but what he did know what he did know however was that a dropkick still did the trick, and Malice had to take a moment to remove his feet from the torso of Eldritch.
  5. After the good Doctor's analysis, Eric sighed and put a hand on one of his temples And this is precisely why you don't ask one of the smartest men in the world what they think; it hurts the head. Eric took a moment to rub his temples while collecting his thoughts on the issue, or more accurately issues. Chief among his thoughts was connection between Shinken and Benjiro. Eric personally couldn't care less who was inside the suit, but what worried him was the parallel between him and Malice. His mind began to race checking over all the various bits of technology the Doctor had seen this day, and to the event that started him on this path, his father.... Eric decided it was best to put those thoughts out of his head for now. Either the Doctor truly had no idea of the particulars of Eric's night life, or conversely the Doctor already has his suspicions and came here to test Eric. Either way... "It's a gamble." said Eric raising his head again. "Maintaining our organization as is would be the safer bet, and our returns are more or less assured, though substantially less than those offered by Benjiro. Joining with Ares Macrotech on the other hand is a riskier proposal, for the reasons you pointed out, as well as others, but with it comes the opportunity to reap huge benefits." Eric pauses for a moment, though it doesn’t seem like he’s done talking yet. “So, it comes down to what the company would rather do; learn to stand on our own two feet, but suffer through a period of crawling and scrapped knees, or conversely, accept a helping hand so we may stand that much sooner, but hope that hand will be there to help us in our hour of need. Personally, I prefer the first option, but I can’t let my personal preferences cloud my judgment, Benjiro’s offer is still very good.â€Â
  6. Yep, I would consider Eric's mind a little blown by that post Dr. A :)
  7. Malice was conflicted. The Captain had the drive and outlook that made him potentially a great ally for Malice's cause, but on the other hand, he was really, really dense. Even though Malice mentioned the Captain's mental faculties, or extreme lack there of, at every available opprotunity, Malice had yet to do them justice. The man was an idiot. And yet here I am encouraging him. Malice had hoped for one of two things at this meeting. He had hoped that the Captian's antics were just exaggerated because he was playing off the crowd, and he had hoped that any excess recklessness could eventually be worn down over time. Malice's first hope was crushed with the Captain's sheen. Great, it's not an act, he's really like that. What on earth am I getting myself into? Setting down on the roof, Malice took a moment to observe his surroundings out of habit before turning to the Captain answering "It sure has." unfortunately doesn't travel well though the helm of battle suit "Well you called this meeting, what's this all about?"
  8. Malice paused for a moment wondering about the quality of the holograms. He quickly pushed the thoughts out of his mind, there would be time to admire his handiwork later. Knowing that he was simply trying to hit the targets, which weren't going to attack him back, Malice shifted his stance, focusing on his offense. "Command: Weapon: 2nd Amendment - Alternate fire - Semi-Auto" No use in wasting bullets, yet. Slowing his breath, Malice took aim at the first target and neatly puts a bullet in the center of mass. Allowing himself a small smile at his marksmanship, Malice sighted up the next opponent. The next shot comes as easily as the one before it. There is a bit of a pause as the two droids exit the arena and are replaced by two new droids. The next two droids cause Malice to give a little start; they share an uncanny resemblence to Captain Thunder and the Raven respectively. "Fricken holograms." Malice takes a moment to measure his opponents and decides he'll leave Raven for last, as she'll likely be the hardest to hit. He follows the fake Captain's movements through the air, looking for any flaw in his defense. From all the videos he had watched of the Freedom League's fights, he knew that the Captain favored his right side, so all Malice needed to do was wait for the Captain to change direction and take his shot. A success. Feeling quite confident in his skills, turned his sights on Raven. Out of the entire Freedom League, he had the most respect for Raven. She was a self made individual, and had gotten to where she was through her own determination and desire. She limited herself to strictly non lethal means, and yet could still prevail. He considered her a misguided ally rather than an enemy. But be that as it may, if he ever needed to take the shot, he would, and and he did striking her in the leg.

    Malice

I had an interesting run in tonight. I ran into a certain someone who has been putting up various signs all over town. He seems to be obsessed with nothing but hogging as much glory as is physically possible. He cares not for casualties, the harm to others, nor any other variable. The man is in short a pompus jerk and a complete idiot. The man I am of course referring to is Captain Knievel. If you have asked me yesterday what I thought of the man, I would hae torn off your arms and savagely beat you to death with them for acknowledging that man's existence in my presence, that and I also had some steam to blow off and it seemed as good an excuse as any. If you had asked me today however, I would only break your jaw, but only on principal. You see I have new found, and also my only, respect for the man. You see I ran into the Captain at the Circus Maximus last night. I had simply gone there to enter a match or two for the sole purpose of savagely beating a random stranger. But due to the Captain's ego and sheer stupidity, the two of us ended up on a team set to fight pretty much every other competitor there that night. Needless to say I felt like I should throttle the man, but he had one saving grace. He shared by hatred of metahumans. Though I loathe to admit it, he does have a certain presence about him, and he certainly knows how to fight. If he weren't such an idiot, I would count him as my greatest ally right now. As it stands however, he is currently no more than a necessary evil. Fate has a sense of humor it seems.
  10. Red Star looks utterly stunned, like he just got thw wind knocked out of him, but in the good way. "Are you serious?" he asks breathlessly, in utter disbelief. "Like actually work along side of you. Like legit? ... Seriously?" "Woah." Red Star seemingly stumbles back a foot or two and braces himself against a wall, almost literally floored by the proposition. He looks back at Nightrival with a gigantic smile on his face saying "Yeah. Umm, yeah. I'd love to. Like more than anything." Now that he has gotten over the shock, he seems to be fighting back the urge to jump in the air and scream "Wooo-Hoo!"
  11. And that's all she wrote. I'll let the Captain have the honor of describing the crowd's reaction.
  12. The Captain's plan goes a little awry as his fist connects with the meaty part at the back of Wendigo's neck and he absorbs the hit without much difficulty. Heeding the Captain's advice, Malice seemingly brings out every weapon he has to bear, and unloads EVERYTHING on Wendigo, keeping up a constant barrage for nearly 10 seconds at point blank range. Finally, Wendigo moves no more. Malice lowers his arms and slouches panting, with steam and smoke just pouring off him. "****-ing hell... *pant* ... *pant*" Taking a deep breath, Malice returns to a standing position. He looks over at Captain and gives him a solid thumbs up. The man's an idiot, but he sures now hope to bring out the best in people.
  13. I'm going to milk the Inspiration for all it's worth; Using Extra Effort, and burning a VP to Ignore Fatigue to get a new AP on Weapons Array: Blast 11 Extra: Auto-fire x2, Flaws: Full Round Action.
  14. The Final Round - End Round 5 19 - Malice -- VP x2, Bruise x3 14 - Captain -- VP x0, Bruise x1 9 - Wendigo -- Bruise x6, Two HP used
  15. "Are we seriously going to have to start breaking out the rulers now?" Didn't realize there were so many egos around. I'm going to have to be careful around this bunch. "So what now, we just say "thanks for the assist" and all walk away? Seems kind of anti-climatic."
  16. Giving his guns a moment to cool down from their firing spree, Malice goes back to pummeling, but he keeps up his guard, not wanting to expend too much effort in case Wendigo surprises him again. Malice's strategy seems to be working as another fist connects and Wendigo again reels from the blow. "How are you not dead yet!? Just fall over, and give up already!"
  17. The Final Round - End Round 4 19 - Malice -- VP x2, Bruise x3 14 - Captain -- VP x2, Bruise x1 9 - Wendigo -- Bruise x5, Two HP used
  18. Just when it seems that the Captain and Malice are building up steam Wendigo is able to take it on the chin and keep on coming. No wonder he's the champ after the beating he can endure.
  19. As the immediate pain in his chest is numbed by the surge of adrenaline and endorphens, Malice sees a golden opprotunity arise in front of him and moves to capitalize. Malice's attack solidly hits its mark and Malice does his damn'dnest to make it count, aiming for every vital he can think of. To say that Wendigo felt that one would be a bit of understatement. He howls in pain, but despite all the massive wounds he's been taking, he just won't go down. "DIE WHEN I KILL YOU!!!" roars Malice, who is increasingly getting more and more furious.
  20. Totally going to VP that roll to get Improved Crit, bumping the DC up to a 41, meaning old fur ball there's going to be taking a nap pretty damn soon. This will also cause Wendigo to spend his second HP to use his Ultimate Toughness save, and still fail by 8. Hot damn.
  21. The Final Round - End Round 3 19 - Malice -- VP x3, Bruise x3 14 - Captain -- VP x2, Bruise x1 9 - Wendigo -- Bruise x4, One HP used
  22. "You're going to make me pay? I find that hilarious." Wendigo actually found it so hilarious, that he was totally unprepared for the Captain's attack which hits him dead on. Wendigo is a little ratled by the attack, and has to take a moment to get the ringing out of his head.
  23. Any rolls or questions for Malice's power check will go here, obviously.
  24. Now decked out in the Arms of Malice, Eric steps back into the elevator and can’t help laughing at the traditional elevator music on the way down. Well they do say the line between genius and insanity is blurred… Back in front of the console, Eric takes a moment to sync the controls in his suit to the console so he is able to control the console from his suit, in theory. He descends the stairs into the arena, and pauses a moment to take in the view, hands on his hips. He then turns around and closes the blast door at the base of the stair case using the panel next to the door, and also does a double check to make sure the door opens again, before shutting it for good. He runs for a moment before taking off and doing a few practice laps to get a lay of the land. Setting down in the center, Eric opens up a small panel on his arm. Hitting a button or two he brings the system to life, “Alright, lets start off nice and easy." He waited a moment while the systems came to life and the simulation started...
  25. Down in his bunker, Eric Micheals slowly closes a panel on a console, having just finished with the wiring. “Well that should be it then.†He walks a few steps over to his left where there is a large green button on the console, his hand hovering over it. “Here goes nothing.†He says as he depresses the button. For a moment nothing happens but then a low thrum is heard which builds in volume and power. The buttons and gauges on the console slowly start coming to life. Eric looks over the console meticulously, observing every single dial, gauge, lever and button. “Power is steady, all systems are actually getting power, and heck, no explosions; that’s better than last time. Let’s see if my luck holds out.†Eric dug in his pocket for a moment and pulled out a key, which he put into the center of the console and turned it to the right. Eric’s eyes darted back and forth as he checked the console again. Satisfied with the progress of everything. Eric flipped 2 switches, and pushed a blue button. He looked through the window as the lights in the arena came to life one after another. Eric then spent the next few moments systematically going through every switch and button, making sure they were all functional, all the while a big doofy grin plays on his face. “Well, I suppose the sensible thing would be to stay up here where it’s safe and run a few test simulations to make sure everything is running properly…†His thoughts wander to the Mantle of Freedom sitting just one floor above him. “But where would the fun in that be?â€Â
