  1. Moria approached me asking if I would like to GM a thread for her and quotemyname. Specifically it'll be Divine and the Captain having a night of drunken revelrey with whatever mishaps I throw their way. But as I am not an official GM, we figured it would be best if I ran this by the actual mods first to make sure it was alright.
  2. Malice watches the arena change, and is very conflicted. On the one hand, he's really impressed at the technology involved, but on the other, it looks like it's going to really really hurt. And out of the conflict comes the Captain, with his brilliant idea. "... You want me to throw you? As in hurl you bodily through the air - at moving targets? Targets which are both electrified and also have enemy combatants on them? The enemy combatants that have powers which we can only venture a guess at currently? Those same enemy combatants with the unknown powers, you know, the ones they have practiced using against people of a similar caliber to them, will use their powers to give you a very bad case of dead at their earliest convience? And your plan is to be willingly hurled into this situation? Yeah I'll get right on that. Just let me try my plan first. It's called "Shoot things until they stop screaming"
  3. Sadism and creativity: 2 traits your DM should never have at the same time. Btw, being disqualified in this round does not prevent you from fighting in future rounds. Your team continues to fight until all members are either disqualified or unable to fight. So Initiative Round 2: 29 - The Captain - VP x3 24 - Ghost 20 - Firestarter 19 - Lady Toxic 9 - Malice - VP x3 Sorry it took me so long, I had to finish stating out the dudes. Well Mr. Capitan, you're up. Just lemme make a quick IC post first.
  4. While the pair are keeping the crowd going, their competition arrives in the ring, this time only 3 people. The first wave of fighters were apparently first time fighters trying to make a name for themselves, but this group of fighters apparently has fought before as the announcer has something better to call them than "Dan" and "Adam". They are Lady Toxic, Firestarter and Ghost. Lady Toxic, as her name implies, is the only female competitor thus far. She fills out a black unitard in all the right places, and wears gray thigh length boots, gray armguards and a matching gray cape with a hood, though the hood isn't being worn currently. She has lime green straight long hair and red eyes. There seems to be a green mist wafting off of her. The other 2 competitors seem to be keeping their distance from her. Firestarter looks like he's already been in a fight tonight. He's probably 22 or 23, looks to be in good shape, and has short brown hair and a goatee. He's wearing normal street clothes that are ripped and torn, and he's got a few scrapes and scratches, though he doesn't seem to be bothered in the slightest as he immediately goes onto one of the turnbuckles, and waves his arms rythmically to get the crowd pumped. After a moment of that mess, he backflips off the turnbuckle and his feet leave a trail of fire hanging in the air for a moment. And lastly there is Ghost. By far the least physically imposing of everyone present. For the few moments you can tear your eyes away from Lady Toxic's figure or Firestarter's antics, you get a decent image of Ghost in your mind. He's probably only 16 or so, pale as all get out and nothing but skin and bones. He's dressed all in rags that even a hobo wouldn't want. His eyes are just empty and hollow. ================================== The Arena this time around. The hexagonal floor then splits into 6 trianles of equal size, and begin to seperate from one another. The floors form a sort of ring, and then a few of them raise in height and several lower their height, in this way, none of the platforms are the same elevation above the ground. Then, the platforms begin rotating around the edge of the ring, some clockwise and others counter clockwise, and one of them even turns upside down. To top it all off, at each point of the triangle a pole about 4 or 5 feet tall raises out of the platform, and electricity jumps from each corner to the next, essentially putting an electrified fence on each platform. The announcer then says that for this fight, any fighter cannot remain flying in the air for 10 seconds without being disqualified (mechanically speaking this means that if you are in the air at the end of your turn, your first action on your next turn must be to land on one of the platforms). Furthermore, you will be disqualified if you touch the ground for any reason. Mechanics for moving platforms: At the start of every round, except the first, the actions of the platforms will be determined at random. Anyone on those platforms will have to preform the necessary rolls immediately. The actions of the platform are determined as such: Roll 1d6 for each platform in numerical order, the results of the roll determine the action as such: 1 or 2- No inherent hazards, no rolls necessary 3 - The platform raises or falls making everyone on the platform need to make a DC 10 Reflex save or Balance check to avoid falling prone. 4 or 5 - The platform passes underneath another platform making everyone on the platform need to make a DC 16 Reflex save. 6 - The platform turns upside down, the combatants need to make a DC 22 Reflex save. Failing the Reflex saves on 4,5 or 6: Failure by 4 or less: You lose your foot and slide into the electric fence, but manage to avoid falling. Those who get this result must make a DC 21 toughness save vs the fence, if they are stunned by this attack, they fall, see below. Failure by 5 to 9: You are knocked off your platform entirely. Make the Toughness check as above. If you are still capable of action (ie: not stunned) make a Reflex save DC 10 to catch yourself and/or land on another platform. If you fail this check, you hit the ground are disqualified for this round. You are not succeptiable to that platform's check this round. Failure by 10 or more: As above but the Reflex save to catch yourself becomes 15.
  5. Ah whoops. I'll use that "extra" point to buy Ground Strike PF for SS, I'll add that in now.
  6. "I was going to enform everyone immediately after our meeting with Mr. Fujisama adjourns, I see no need to wait for an issue such as this. When I said everyone, I meant it. Every scientist, every researcher, every receptionist, every guard, everyone, will be informed at the same time. The procedures for a merger are pretty straight forward, if not a little tedious. Regardless, if there is a merger, it won't take place for at least 30 days, we need to give the State at least that long to ensure that a merger such as ours doesn't break any of the anti-trust laws or statutes. If you have any particular questions Dr. Archeville, I'll try and field as many of them as I can, but as it is not my specialty, I will probably have to deferr you to our legal team."

He can sometimes be overly naive, and easily manipulated. He likes to tinker with some tech stuff, even including himself. He's not proud of his mining heritage per se, but he doesn't want to let go of it either. Description: A well armored, humanoid robot, with earthy colors. It looks like it was built to last. A massive drill can be formed from his right hand. Obviously of alien make. Backstory: Armada was designed by a distant alien race to be a miner robot, he's one of thousands actually, maybe millions. The aliens send these miners to uninhabited planets that have certain minerals they need, and the miners go to work. Well eventually, someone forgot to carry the one when calculating the trajectory for Armada's destination and he wound up way off target, crash landing on earth. Armada was damaged in the crash, and began self-repairs, but without the proper materials, there wasn't much to be done. His crash landing to earth didn't exactly go unnoticed either. The Freedom League, was quickly disatched to the location, because they had expected the craft to burn up in the atmosphere, not actually touch down. Armada didn't have much AI, but he had enough to bumble through the initial greeting. Recognizing Armada's great strength and durability (not to mention good heart), they took him under their wing and taught him the ways of the world (getting to study advanced alien tech was a boon as well). Over time his AI matured and he began to learn, and even develop a personality. He has declined the Freedom's League's offer to upgrade his weapon systems, it feels too much like giving up who he was. He's not a true member of the League, more of like a friendly associate. He doesn't want to forget where he came from, for reasons he doesn't even understand. Motivation: More than anything else, Armada just wants to find a place to belong. He wants to live out his days where he can do something useful. He also wants to learn more about this strange world he has come to inhabit
  8. No, you have 3 VP. 1 rolling over from last round, 1 for the post round shenangians, and 1 for entering a new round.
  9. "Don't worry Dr. Archeville, you'll be kept in the loop, as will all of Darts' employees. I do not intend to spring this on our employees after the papers have been signed. Mr. Fujisama, I will bring your offer to the attention of the board presently. I only wish to confirm the idea that Darts continue to be able to put out its own products at our leasure, instead of our products be going out under your marketing team's whims."
  10. As the Captain makes a professional fool out of himself, Malice seems far more reserved as he paces around the edge of the ring. What the hell go into me out there? I was roaring like horrible Conan rip off. Is it because I've got all those people screaming at me, and loving me for it? I never understood it before, but having all those people packing you really is an intoxicating high. But that's not all their is to it, is it? I've had people watch my fights before now, and I've always kept calm, cool and efficient. Granted they were always rooting against me, but I fought the same regardless whether or not there were spectators. So what's different this time? Malice paused for a moment, his hands on his hips contemplating his situation and catching his breath. He looked around for a moment before his eyes fell on the Captain who was busy working the crowd into a blood thirsty frenzy. *Sigh* I had to ask didn't I? Am I really as susceptable to him as the rest of the untamed masses? As the Captain announces his idea, Malice is simply stunned at a loss for word. I swear to God. If that man wasn't just about the only chance I've got of getting out of this mess in most of my pieces, I'd shoot him right now. Malice raises him gun-arm and points it right at the back of the Captain as he prances about exactly like an alpha male ape on display. It'd be so simple, just one little squeeze... Then the Captain finally notices that Malice has his arm raised right at him. There is a pregnant pause as no one is sure of Malice's intent, and the arena nearly falls silent. Then Malice rotates his arm ever so slightly and gives the Captain a solid thumbs-up, causing the arena to erupt once again. When you're behind enemy lines, you take any advantage, no matter how irksome. That's why I prefer to attack from the front, you can gun down the idiots there.
  11. Regardless of your desire to bring the new dude out right now, the first needs some time to be set up. I was saying 5 minutes because that's how long I thought it took to recover from a bruise, but I was incorrect, it was 1 minute. On that note. Recovery check at end of round 1 (1d20 6=21) Furthermore, 1 minute is not enough to use Master Plan to prepare. But why the heck not, VP's for both of us for screwing ourselves out of a chance to recover to prove we're superior and of course loosing the opprotunity to plan. So congrats, we each got 3 VP. The next battle is tougher though. And as long as I'm here Malice Initiative round 2 (1d20 0=9)
  12. As The Captain gets right in Nathan's face, Malice slowly rises into the air. He climbs higher and higher. There is no unnecessary movement, no more bellows, just a machine waiting for the right time to kill. At the top of the ring, he waits for the moment to come. When it does, the jet engines roar to life screaming like a bird of prey. As Malice hurtles towards Nathan, he pulls back his right fist, bringing all his strength to bear and brings his fist crashing down like the fist of an angry god and Nathan's body simply crumples beneath the assault as his head gets buried in the ring. Because of all the momentum he brought to bear, Malice does a bit of a hand spring off Nathan's skull to land on his feet about 10 feet away. Looking up at the crowd, Malice cracks his neck once to the right and once to the left, before raising his arms in victory, and the crowd goes wild. As does the announcer "UNBELIEVABLE FOLKS! THEY ACTUALLY WON! OUT NUMBERED 2 TO 1, THEY STILL PULLED THE VICTORY OUT WITH EASE! BUT BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU FOLKS, THIS WAS JUST THE WARM UP! The conestants will have 5 minutes to rest and regain their strength while the new ring is being prepared."
  13. Nathan can't actually beat your intimidate check, so I'm gonna skip it.
  14. Usually giving out HP's and VP's is up to the DM running the thread. If there is no DM, then it's up to the players. You can't nominate yourself for a VP, usually what happens is one of the other players in the thread says "that's totally worth a ______ Point". Then again, I've been in like 2 threads where that is an issue. So if you think that deserves a VP, then that's the majority of the people in the thread, so I gets a VP. 46 - Dan (Red vien guy) -- Bruise x2, Stunned, Staggered, Unconscious 29 - Captain - VP x1 22 - Nathan (croc man) -- Bruise x1, Stunned, Staggered 15 - Adam (dog dude) -- Bruise x2, Stunned, Staggered, Unconscious 7 - Earl (gray skin guy) -- Bruise x2, Stunned, Staggered, Unconscious 2 - Malice - VP x1 -- Bruise x1 I stoled your extra VP.
  15. When Shiken adverts his attention away from Red Star to focus more on Moria, Red Star holds his arms out wide with a mock appalled look on his face behind Shiken's back. Clearly Red Star isn't used to not being the center of attention. His annoyance subsides when Shiken pulls out a business card out of... somewhere, and Red Star turns his head to the side to get a better look. "Dude, you have a business card giver outer thing in there? Please tell me you at least have basic cable."
  16. 46 - Dan (Red vien guy) -- Bruise x2, Stunned, Staggered, Unconscious 29 - Captain - VP x2 22 - Nathan (croc man) -- Bruise x1, Stunned, Staggered 15 - Adam (dog dude) -- Bruise x2, Stunned, Staggered, Unconscious 7 - Earl (gray skin guy) -- Bruise x2, Stunned, Staggered, Unconscious 2 - Malice - VP x0 -- Bruise x1
  17. In response to the Captain's taunts Nathan merely curls his lip in a snarl of disgust as he remains unphased. He is not so resiliant to the Captain's punches however as the Captain's 1-2 punch knocks him halfway to la-la land. Meanwhile, Adam continues to struggle in vain for no matter how he wriggles, squirms, strains bites or claws he simply can't get out of Malice's grip. ==================== Taking advantage of the situation, Malice clamps down in a bear hug on Adam, whose face rapidly turns a painful looking shade of purple before several resounding cracks can be heard and Adam's body goes limp. Malice lift's his defeated quarry high above his head displaying it to the bloodthirsty crowd, it's broken and dislocated arms jutting out at odd angles. With a strangley mechanical bellow of rage, and in a viscious display of brutality and power, Malice hurls the fallen Adam with all the strength he can muster straight at the dazed Dan. Dan is so completely out of it that he doesn't even respond to the viscious attack. Dan is swept clean off his feat and him and Adam go spiraling into the forcefields in a broken and bloddy mess. They hit the forcefields with such incredible force that that entire side of the arena screames in fear and dust is shaken from the ceiling. In the relative silence that follows Malice issues another inhuman bellow to release some pent up bloodlust.
  18. Usually you can get the point back if it wasn't necessary to spend it in the first place. But like standard D&D a natural 1 is always a miss.
  19. Well you know about Red Star at the very least. He's got the fame complication because it is so easy to learn about him. He's been in comercials, doesn't have a secret ID, and he even up keeps his own blog flat out telling anyone and everyone about his exploits.

    Malice

As I get drawn more and more into the world that Malice frequents, the idea of a day off is becoming more and more interesting to me. Not for myself, but for the other heroes and villains out there. Does the Raven ever just take a personal day off, does Medea ever just stop to sit down and read a newspaper every now and then? Maybe it's because I've been dealing with the idea of making weapons for years now that the concept of just stopping for any length of time is entirely alien to me. I'm not saying that I work around the clock, that's just not physically possible, but on any given day, I at least devote some of my time to thinking of a new battle plan, a new modification to the suit, or a potential new target. I just can't wrap my head around how someone justs stops with all of this, and then suddenly gets the drive to get up and do it all again. Am I the odd one out, or is everyone else like me too? It's natural for anyone in society to compare themselves to their peers to see how they measure up, but that is incredibly hard in my case as I really don't know all that much about my "peers." Any of the "heroes" will likely attack me on sight and the villains a large a bunch of unstable pyschotics. *Shrug* I guess we all just try to find our place in society even if we hate the society; it's human nature to want to belong because belonging means that there are those out there that think like you. It lets you know that you're not alone.
  21. ... *blink* ... See, this is why I just threw a lot of guns on the battlesuit and called it a day.

6,7, and 9 are the easiest for me to read. I don't know about anyone else though.
  24. Oh god yeah. I had this monloge of Norman/ Green Goblin a while ago but lost the link. He was going on a rant because someone was inflitrating his base and all the guards were useless, so he decides to put on the GG suit again uttering something to the tune of "Glad I never washed this suit, it smells like death, blondes and victory." What is the Mercury Age if you don't mind me asking, I've never heard of it.
