  1. Okay, thanks to the both of you for clearing that up.
  2. Firstly regeneration. Let's say you got Regeneration 2 for the Bruised Condition, so you recover from bruised every standard action. Does this mean everytime you have a standard action, you heal this condition, or do you have to expand a standard action to heal? Secondly, lets say you've got Regeneration 3, but this time for the Injured Condition, so you recover every minute. Do you basically need to sit around the entire time for Regen to kick in, or can you be actively engaged in activities? So for example you got injured and have been in combat for another 10 rounds miraculously got getting injured again, would you then recover? Now onto healing. Let's say you've got a Con of 20 (+5 mod), and Healing 6. So they use healing on themselves, and they get a recovery check "with a bonus on the check equal to your Healing rank." What I'm not certain about is whether or not a person's Con mod (or other recovery bonuses) get added into this as well. In short, do they add 6 or 11 to the d20 result? Now healing with the extra: action (standard), along with the personal flaw raises a question or two. Suppose you just got staggered and want to recover, but can you? You have the action to use the Healing power itself, but it doesn't affect the full-round recovery action the subject needs to take. So if someone could explain this interworkings to be, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks yet again. (I was looking over Instand Superheroes, the Living weapons specifically and saw this)
  3. My initial feeling at reading the synopsis was utter dread, but it might not be so bad after viewing the trailer. I want this to be good, but I'm not sure I can ignore the fact that Iron man's a teenager.
  4. Whoops, I saw the 5:30 for the reception and assumed it was the time for the actual thing, I didn't see the 4:30 the line above. :?
  5. While it wasn't exactly rare that Eric went out at night wearing a suit, this night was a little different. Tonight he traded out the Mantel of Freedom for a more traditional suit. It was like most suits worn at black and white affairs but Eric had opted to wear a half-coat that went down to his knees. He was dressed in this atire to fight an affiliate of the Freedom League, though in a slightly different arena than normal. Doctor Viktor Archeville was going to be giving a lecture at HIT and the chance to hear the great Doctor speak was simply too great to pass up. While Eric didn't like the man's company, he had to respect his intelligence, and if the opprotunity presented itself, learn from his expertise. Stepping out of his house at a prompt 3:30, Eric made his way down the stairs to his waiting blue Honda Civic. After starting his car, Eric had to sit there for a moment so he could remember how to actually get from here to HIT using just the roads. His bearing set, Eric backed out of his driveway and headed over to HIT.
  6. Okay, listen to speech, then gab his ears off, got it.
  7. A chance to pick the brain of one of the smartest people in the city AND a chance to prove that you're even smarter than they are? Eric is definately there. :D

    Up and Running

Now decked out in the Arms of Malice, Eric steps back into the elevator and can’t help laughing at the traditional elevator music on the way down. Well they do say the line between genius and insanity is blurred… Back in front of the console, Eric takes a moment to sync the controls in his suit to the console so he is able to control the console from his suit, in theory. He descends the stairs into the arena, and pauses a moment to take in the view, hands on his hips. He then turns around and closes the blast door at the base of the stair case using the panel next to the door, and also does a double check to make sure the door opens again, before shutting it for good. He runs for a moment before taking off and doing a few practice laps to get a lay of the land. Setting down in the center, Eric opens up a small panel on his arm. Hitting a button or two he brings the system to life, “Alright, lets start off nice and easy. Level 1.†Eric is taken aback at how quickly the system starts to work, as 5 drones pop out of the ground and go to work. All 5 raise their guns in unison and unload. Two of the drones’ aim are off but the rest are on target. Normally bullets of this caliber aren’t much of a problem, but Eric left himself wide open and pays the price. And it is only through a hastily executed maneuver that Eric avoids serious injury. Eric quickly takes to the air, putting some distance between him and his assailants. "Yeesh. Note to self, I make very good weapons." Surveying his targets he decides the best course of action is to attack all of them at once and launches the Liberation Cannon at each of the drones, hoping to take out at least a few of them. The mini-missle barrage flies through the air leaving winding smoke trails that create quite a beautiful pattern, at least to Eric. The damage done is quite impressive. One of the drones is reduced to scrap, another is barely functional and another two sustained quite a bit of damage, and even the last one was damaged a little. End Round 1 standing: Initiative- Drones 6, Eric 4 Drone 1: “Unconsciousâ€Â; Drone 2: Bruised, Stunned, Staggered; Drone 3: Bruised; Drone 4: Bruised, Stunned; Drone 5: Bruised, Stunned; Eric: 0 HP, uninjured The drones are using the stats of the Soldier from the 2E core book.
  9. Down in his bunker, Eric Micheals slowly closes a panel on a console, having just finished with the wiring. “Well that should be it then.†He walks a few steps over to his left where there is a large green button on the console, his hand hovering over it. “Here goes nothing.†He says as he depresses the button. For a moment nothing happens but then a low thrum is heard which builds in volume and power. The buttons and gauges on the console slowly start coming to life. Eric looks over the console meticulously, observing every single dial, gauge, lever and button. “Power is steady, all systems are actually getting power, all safety measure are in place and holding, and heck, no explosions; that’s better than last time. Let’s see if my luck holds out.†Eric dug in his pocket for a moment and pulled out a key, which he put into the center of the console and turned it to the right. Eric’s eyes darted back and forth as he checked the console again. Satisfied with the progress of everything. Eric flipped 2 switches, and pushed a blue button. He looked through the window as the lights in the arena came to life one after another. Eric then spent the next few moments systematically going through every switch and button, making sure they were all functional, all the while a big doofy grin plays on his face. “Well, I suppose the sensible thing would be to stay up here where it’s safe and run a few test simulations to make sure everything is running properly…†His thoughts wander to the Mantle of Freedom sitting just one floor above him. “But where would the fun in that be?â€Â

    Character Edits

I'll spend one of Malice's PP on another rank in Equipment, bringing the rank up to 2, to upgrade the headquarters. I'll hold onto the other for now. The new HQ is as such: Headquarters (Hidden Bunker) Size: Medium [+1] Toughness: 15 [2] Features: Combat Simulator, Computer, Concealed, Fire Prevention System, Power System, Security System, Workshop (dedicated to working on power armor) Malice has finally finished a second floor in his bunker. The second floor houses the combat simulator. The elevator dumps you off in the control room over looking the fairly large space where the actual combat takes place. Stairs to the right of the main console take you down to the fight space. Updated by V_M

    Malice

The following are a series of audio logs dictated by Eric Micheals. Log Entry #1 Aug 12, 2008; 10:27 Testing. Testing. 1 2 3. Yep it works. So uhhh, guess I should say something… … This is stupid, I shouldn’t have taken the day off for this. Log Entry #2 Aug 12, 2008; 16:23 So um, back again… Guess I should actually say something this time. Uh, where do I begin? Guess I’ll say why I’m doing this. Recently, I’ve been feeling like I’m not sure where I’m going… It’s like I’ve lost a sense of purpose, and I’ve constantly been forgetting things, which used to never happen. … *sigh* I just don’t know what to do with myself anymore. Ah s***, I forgot all about the pizza guy. Log Entry #3 Aug 12, 2008; 18:35 Alright, for real this time. As of late, I’ve been feeling like I’m being pulled in too many directions at once. Like I’m losing part of myself… Maybe it’s the lack of sleep, or the constant build up of injuries, maybe even just the stress, but whatever is causing it, it needs to stop. So I’m writing this to try and focus myself, maybe pull myself back together as it were. Or hell, maybe I just want to hear another voice, even if it’s my own, if that made any sense. … I kind of put off doing this for a while. I was… pretty leery about putting my personal thoughts down on paper, or… on the computer… as it were. What if someone found them and used them to blackmail me or to try and get inside my head? But I came to the realization that if that happened they had already been in my house, and into my bunker and could blackmail me with a few million dollars of death machine; which kind of makes me talking about the ham sandwich I had last Wednesday a bit superfluous really. In addition I thought I really didn’t need this enough to give up all the time I could be working on upgrades. That little nagging voice in my head though kept saying that no matter how powerful the suit is, its not doing a damn thing without me. And no I’m not gonna turn the damn thing into a robot, I’ve seen what happens with such foolish plans. So what’ve I been up to lately? Well at work I’ve been trying to get teams 3, 4 and 6 to mimic some of the weapons systems in the Malice suit. Their progress is painfully slow. What’s so infuriating is that I can’t just come out and tell them what the hell to do. That’ll raise way too many questions and it won’t exactly take a genius to piece the link between Malice and me. For some reason people get suspicious when you hand them the schematics to a death machine they saw tearing up down town the day before. That brings me to another reason I’m doing this; I think the power’s going to my head. Everybody gets mad, I know that, but not everybody has more weapons than an military base under their house. It started about a month ago. Some ******* cut me off in traffic. Normal people would just curse the guy out and tell a few friends and be fine, but I didn’t do that. I memorized the guy’s license plate. I then acquired access to a few databases and found out who that guy was and where he lived. I camped out on a rooftop over looking the guy’s apartment for 3 hours, just waiting for him to get home. When he opened that door, I was ready to kill that man. I came to my senses before it was too late, but I came close, way too close. And it only got worse. Now not a day goes by that I don’t envision myself just leveling the city block by block. I supposed to be a champion for these people, but how I can I be a champion whose every action just degrades society!? I want to be a champion, a hero. I want to be a person people love and respect and aspire to be. But, right now, it looks like I might have to be a villain to save these people from themselves. Alright, my voice is getting hoarse, that’s enough for now.
  13. Not dead, just not actively involved in any threads.
  14. I apparently need more ranks in search... Thanks again Dr. A.
  15. I can't believe no one mentioned Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog yet. http://www.drhorrible.com/mushortio.html There are 3 acts each about 10-15 minutes long about the various exploits of Dr. Horrible set to some nice catchy tunes. You must watch.
  16. Okay thanks. That's what I figured, but never hurts to ask. Now a few questions on Duplication itself: Let's say you have Duplication 10 with the Heroic Extra, and that's it, so you just summon 1 identical duplicate. Suppose you're in a fight, and the Duplicate has taken a fair amount of damage and is eventually knocked unconscious, and disappears. Could the original then use Duplication again to bring the Duplicate back on his next turn? If so, what level of health would the duplicate re-appear at? IE: would they still have all the bruises, injuries, etc. or be fully healed? What if the original sustained damage, would the duplicate have that as well, because they are a copy of the original? Say the Original summons the Duplicate as a standard action, so the Original has a move action left. Would the Duplicate have just a move action as well, or would he have both a standard and move?
  17. Say you make yourself a duplicator, and you've got a fair share of Equipment; guns, costumes, etc. Will your duplicate(s) have those items as well if they have all the same traits as you? I would assume so, but never hurts to ask. EDIT: Things like vehicles and headquarters are obviously not duplicated.
  18. Well, as one of the new guys, I feel it's my obligation to give you a hearty welcome back and say that it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
  19. Alright, I'll speed the process along and nix Wide then. Let me make a few adjustments. EDIT: Got rid of Wide Array, and made Flight and Super Strength Dynamic off one another. No net change to Power cost.
  20. Any word yet on the legality of Wide Arrays?
  21. I'm still interested, but because I was the last to throw my hat into the ring, it's only fair I have last priority.
  22. Happy Birthday!
  23. Congrats once again Dr. A.
