  1. I'm not going to be on as much as I have been for the next week or two because my brother's back home and we've only got 1 computer with net access in the house.
  2. Sure, why not? I could always make with more smashing.
  3. Well first I'm gonna wish I still had Takedown Attack 2. And then I'm going to use Shockwave again, once I move into position with Leaping. DC 29 Toughness save, or DC 22 Toughness if they make a DC 24 Reflex save. 140ft cone.
  4. In a perfect world, the human soldiers wouldn't have to hold out. But as evidenced by all the blood that has been spilled today, it was not yet a perfect world. But Atlas was still dedicated to saving as many of them as he could. But as the beastmen had demonstrated on their last charge, they were not willing to challenge him directly. That meant that he couldn't just rely on making himself the target. He had to take the beastmen out of the equation if he wanted to save the human warrior fighting for their homes. And that was something he had very little trouble arranging. Giving a righteous bellow, Atlas charged across the field of battle, battering the beastmen, sending them flying as his powerful blows created massive shockwaves that rippled through the beastmen ranks.
  5. Atlas stood back and let the events unfold. Truth be told, all of the technological stuff was a bit above his pay grade. It looked like the others had it well in hand, so he just left them to it. Some of the sciency types got annoyed if you looked over their shoulder while they were trying to work, and because Atlas had never worked with these heroes before, he didn't want to test anyone's patience. He did however wince, or whatever passed for wincing in his odd blob form, when they tried to knock down the door. "Next time, I handle the door." He intended to follow that up with a joke of some kind, but after crossing the threshold, it died in his throat. "Good God. What is this place?" asked Atlas to no one in particular as he took in the horrendous surroundings. Hesitantly, he reached out telepathically to see if any of those things were alive.

It's a power that makes you exceedingly good at grappling. But it makes you too good. At the same time, the other abilities it gives you seem to be erratic once put into context. For instance, Growth gives you a -4 Knockback modifier per size level. Bigger things are harder to send flying than small things, I get it. The thinking was that the +8 Strength would balance it out, and things of equal size could send each other flying just fine. Well, no, not at all actually. Characters of an equal PL and equal trade-off will have the same Strength score, regardless of source. So now if two Titans like this one were to duke it out, only by power attacking for full would either of them have a chance of knocking the other back, and even then it would be like a quarter of a step. I've added the Knockback powerfeat, which in this case would apply to their Strength modifier in general to counter balance this effect. Also, lifting capacity wise, characters with Growth are relatively weak at a vanilla level. A PL 10 at Huge size with max trade-offs like this build here has Strength 50. Which is enough to heft a semi, barely. So in order to get a decent amount of lifting capacity, you need more ranks in Super-Strength, which will leave the taste of Velveeta glued to your mouth due to the grappling rules, which is a shame because you can only properly do an expy of the attack of the 50ft whatever with lots of Super-Strength. This is one of the reasons I went with a Huge sized character instead of Gargantuan. The Power-Lifting power feat I "invented" was actually made due to this particular problem I was running into. Now as for the character themselves, a few of the skills may look out of place. They've got ranks in Acrobatics and Stealth not necessarily because they're good at it, but because I suspect someone that's a few stories high has practiced stepping lightly and directly so as to not squash anything underfoot. They've got sign language because some people have complained that their voice is a little too loud when they're at full size. In addition, sometimes they have a hard time hearing their allies when they're battling some villains. Either of which would make for some good complications. As for the appearance, in the FC verse, Kaiju island exists as a perfect place for "things much larger than they should be" so, yoink. Maybe they're a native of Kaiju island (in which case drop the knowledges for some Survival) or maybe the Labyrinth is experimenting with the DNA of the creatures of the island. I had to cut a few things from this sheet. A few more Super-Strength power feats, Bluff and Diplomacy ranks, esoteric immunities, Prone fighting (to reflect that giants rarely fight while standing straight up), Interpose and a slew of other things. I also recommend not getting many grappling related feats, you're good enough at it as is.
  7. Knowlege Technology
  8. 1. I already gave you the hero point 2. You have taken your surprise round action, you now have another action. 3. The fluff of the post says that they are making their way towards the cars. I was showing you what they intend to do on their action, as I did not declare any mechanical breakdown in the OOC, nothing has happened. They were reacting to you giving away your presence.
  9. Blueshift 18 - HPx4 - Unharmed - Will be fatigued at the start of next round unless they spend a HP Goons 17 - 18 remaining (minions) Push 11 - HPx3 - Unharmed Blue's first attack was the surprise round. But she won initiative so she goes again
  10. Atlas nodded with a smile, glad Gossamer was willing to continue. Maybe I didn't freak her out as much as I thought I did. he thought to himself. But to be on the safe side, he took a moment to contemplate the form he would assume next. Deciding upon a new one, he took a few steps back and crouched down, taking a knee. Spindly fibers burst out of his back, and hung in the air like a fishing pole and line. As the change continued, it became clear that those were to become bat-like wings. Horns grew from his brow as his face distorted and became grotesque. Hands and feet became clawed as teeth became fangs and tusks. Clothes melted away leaving a modesty preserving half toga half loin cloth. Lastly, his skin took on a stony appearance, as a statue would look after 30 years braving the elements, complete with cracks, moss and damage from acid rain. He assumed the position of a gargoyle perched upon a rooftop and moved no more.
  11. Hrmm I thought I already accounted for saying it did, but looking over the maths, I guess I missed that bit. So yes, the cloaking did fail.
  12. The goons drop quickly enough, but the sound and light of crackling lightning quickly alerts the rest of the goons that they aren't alone. Immediately they start shouting incoherent orders at one another as they all make for the SUV's, seemingly perfectly willing to leave their comrades in arms to whatever fate has befallen them. The goons that were loading the crates into the SUV's suddenly go about their task double time, throwing the crates in quickly before slamming the trunk closed, all thoughts of stealth having quite left their minds. The lookouts don't even seem concerned with keeping a weather eye out and are returning to the SUV's like all the others, though perhaps they are going so for cover if they have a fire fight.
  13. Alright, roll initiative. Crackling electricity is very easy to see in a deserted lot at 3am. Blueshift 18 - HPx4 - Unharmed - Will be fatigued at the start of next round unless they spend a HP Goon Initiative (1d20+6=17) - 18 remaining (minions) Push 11 - HPx3 - Unharmed
  14. The deck of the ship bears all the hallmarks of a ship that has come from far overseas, lots of shipping manifests, different languages on the containers, the whole bit. One of the storage containers has been opened, apparently with a key as the lock is still in tact. Among the other items in the large storage crate are the smaller weapons crates, which were apparently obscured by some tires to get it through customs, though there was likely a bribe at some point along the line. The goons fill up their dollie with 2 of the crates, leaving 2 more behind as their dollie couldn't carry all 4. From her vantage point, Blueshift could see the rest of the goons were going to leave these 2 goons to the ship, plus the one guardsman on the ramp (who didn't have a direct view to the large storage crate in question) to finish up, as they were busy with their own tasks.
  15. The gouging out of your own eyes bit is a little too squicky for my tastes. But I don't necessarily have a problem with a player using the Medusa legacy.
  16. Unaware of the heroes in their midst, the goons continue their work. In short order, two of the SUV's are loaded with 4 crates each. Through it all the goons remain quiet except for the grunts they make when they first heft the crafts onto dollies. The crates are apparently pretty darn heavy judging by the reaction of the goons. The loading goons look like they want to take a break, but a sharp look from one of the men with the machine guns promptly gets their motivation back, as they start wheeling the dollie aboard the ship docked nearby.
  17. "It's fine Colt, don't worry about it." replied Eli comfortingly. "We've got a job to do after all." To Jack he replied "Time doesn't mean anything until you spend it. It's all relative." he said with a shrug. Truth be told, he was annoyed that Erik came bounding in all excited about spending 5 minutes elsewhere, but he was withholding his final judgement until he learned the details of the endeavor. In regards to Grim, Eli's cheeks noticeably darkened a few shades as he gets caught. "Uhhh.... well yeah... kinda. I mean I was there a while.... and I had the time to uh.... yeah..." stumbled Eli suddenly feeling like a kid with his hand caught in the cookie jar, before coughing into his fist, trying to regain his composure. Grim's kiss however quickly stomped that out as he turns a rather brilliant shade of crimson. "It's true, girls are only interested in you once you're in another relationship." he muttered with mock resentment. "Not that I'm complaining mind you." he assured. "But seriously, thank Grim. And everyone. But I'm okay. We should be focusing on the city." said Eli, trying to keep up a brave front.
  18. I'll let you guys decide how you want to go about tackling this problem. There's about 20 guys on the pier, that came in 6 SUV's. 7 of which are obviously armed with machine guns. The others don't have weapons readily apparent, but in all likely hood, they're armed, but with lower caliber weapons than their peers. There doesn't appear to be a given leader, but they are organized, and are avoiding talking to stay as quiet as possible.
  19. May 14th, 2011 It was just another patrol for these two experienced heroes. This one however had more of a specific purpose than just the traditional sort of general patrol. Recently the street crime of Freedom City had been escalating. Someone, somewhere was getting powerful weapons into Freedom City. Military grade and beyond. Off a bit of a hunch and some good old fashioned legwork, the heroes have deduced that another shipment is due to come into Port Regal in the coming days. This particular shipment is supposedly to be used in an arms deal, and many powerful members of Freedom's underworld are said to be in attendance. Finding the exact meeting place for the deal however proved impossible. Regardless, the heroes kept their ears to the ground and it appears as if it will pay off tonight. It's about 3 in the morning when a convoy of black SUV's roll into the pier, after a few heavily armed individuals set up a perimeter, they begin loading the SUV's with crates scattered around the pier, apparently kept separate so that the whole cache wouldn't be discovered.
  20. Eli let out a deep long sigh and closed his eyes now that he had gotten the truth out of the way. He opened and saw his friends, his family painted with shock and concern. He knew they would react like that, but damn if it still didn't tug on his heart strings. When Mona gave him a new hug, he mysteriously had something caught in his eye, and needed a moment to contemplate his shoes. With a little sniff and his eyes a little redder, he lifted his head up to look at the group again. "I'm - I'm good." replied Eli stumbling with his words a little bit. "The journey was - is.... life changing. It's the only word that does it justice." he said after a moment's contemplation. "It shaped who I'm going to be. Who I want to be. But uh... it feels weird talking about it. It wasn't an hour ago to me..."
  21. If Grim was confused before, getting glomped by Eli probably didn't help matters. "Heya Grim, great to see you again." he said as he accidentally pulled the petite pixie off the ground slightly. Setting Grim back down, Eli took a position towards the back of the kitchen so he could address everyone easier. "Well to bring you up to speed, there have been several massive temporal anomalies throughout the day. Namely, this has presented itself in the form of portals which seemed to either bring objects, people or other entities from their own time period to modern Freedom City, or to send those items into some other random time period." reported Eli, finally saying the speech he had practiced more than a few times. "In addition to that, one of the more popular conjectures is that these portals did not send travelers to alternate time lines, but rather different points in our own continuous time line. Due to a lack of detailed and confirmed stories from those affected and the fact that history naturally muddles details, said conjecture will remain a conjecture. Furthermore, those that were sent through the portals were sent back to their own time; those of us that have been removed from this time period returned here, within the past half hour?" he asked the assembled group to see if there was an outlier from his guess. "Although we have yet to check stories, myself, Erik and Mona all experienced this temporal shift first hand. The time spent on "the other side" as it were also seems to be highly variable. Again, without checking our stories I would surmmise that Erik and Mona spent a relatively short amount of time in the other time period. You have likely deduced that it was not the case for my own travel, and you would be correct. From my perspective, it has been over 3 years since I had breakfast here this morning." finished Eli quietly as he dropped the bomb.
  22. "That which does not kill you makes you stronger right?" replied Eli, avoiding directly answering the question with a weak smile and a half shrug. In truth, he didn't know if he had an answer to the question. Things were different, but better or worse, he couldn't tell. Things were happening too fast. Not more than 10 minutes ago, he was saying goodbye to friends and family, he could still feel their warmth on his hands when they shook his. And now, he was with his other family, saying hello again. Speaking of family, Eli rather unceremoniously pulled Erik into a hug as soon as he stepped into the room. "Nope, not just you." replied Dynamo, echoing Fulcrum's words. "It's good to see you again Erik." said Eli keeping up the weirdness by calling Jack by his proper name. "I was going to make some tea, want any?" he asked Erik and the others as he pulled back from the impromptu hug, and put some water on the stove at a thoroughly mundane speed. He wanted to put off explaining things until everyone was in the room. Firstly because he just wanted to stall and secondly, he wanted to make sure everyone made it back okay.
  23. "Well for starters we don't know if this building is entirely a front or if there are honest people working on the higher floors, utterly ignorant of the goings on here on the lower levels. Secondly, if this bot is part of the security, and its trashed, there's another player at work. In which case we'll need information. Thirdly, we don't know if any innocents got dragged down below and are now being held hostage. And lastly, vast amounts of collateral damage are to be avoided at all cost." Replied Atlas, using almost the same lecture he had received quite a few times. Phantom was good about keeping the team in check, she had to be with Avenger running around.
  24. Eli's ears perked up as he heard Colt coming up the stairs. He stood up a little more properly to get a good look at Colt, which cooincidentally gave Colt a better look at him. He smirked as Colt danced around the 800 pound gorilla in the room (pun not intended), before going in for another hug. It was going to be hugs all around today. "You don't miss much do ya there Colt?" said Eli as he pulled back from Colt to get another good look at him. "Yeah, its a new one alright. Going to be wearing it for a while." he replied as he absent mindedly spun it on his finger. "And good to know one of us has the sense to stay out of rifts in space time."
  25. I won't be around between May 31st through June 14th, or roughly there abouts.
