  2. "It looks like something busted out of that section of wall over there." said Altas after a moment of scanning the room, pointing out the bit of wall in question. "When they came out, they probably started attacking everything in sight." he said with a wave of his hand to the rest of the room. "And from the sound of it, there's a lot more where they came from. And I don't know about you, but I'd rather fight them in here than out there where people might get injured." With that Atlas shifted form into an elongated humanoid red goo. "Should we go say hello?" he asked rhetorically as he started slowly making his way towards the patch of wall.
  3. Eli tried to say something back to Fulcrum, but found his voice to be caught in his throat. He merely nodded in acknowledgement, forgetting Fulcrum couldn't see him. He closed the door softly behind him with a click. Depositing his keys back into his pocket, Eli made his way over to kitchen, suddenly feeling as if his shoes were made of lead, as his heart pounded in his ears. Rounding the corner, Eli let out a long sigh of relief "I'm back." When he saw Fulcrum however, he realized that many of the others may have gotten caught up in the time disturbance. "Time portals got you too, huh?" he quickly surmised. He was about to ask where she got shunted off to, but he couldn't hold it back any longer. He stepped in unceremoniously and gave her a hug "Its good to see you again." I'm really back. Truly back. thought Eli, both elated and sad.
  4. "Heh. Good talking with ya Dok. Don't be a stranger now." replied Eli as he got to his feet and gave a little stretch. "Yeah, the one problem with going abroad for lunch is that they get a little suspicious when you don't have a passport, plane ticket, or foreign currency on you; oh and you don't speak a word of their language. You can get around that by wearing brightly colored pajamas, but as you can imagine that creates its own set of problems. So uh, raincheck on that okay?" He held out his hand "We should do this again. It's been a pleasure Dr. Archeville." said Eli, trying to be formal while also feeling distinctly odd about doing so.

  7. April 16th, 2011. Sometime after midnight. Eli stepped out of the portal, landing back into Freedom City in the year 2011, exactly as he left it. Well not quite as he left it, it was much further on in the day. The important bit was that he was back where he belonged. Maybe if he kept telling himself that, he'd believe it. Catching himself in the reflection of a store front window, he realized he now had a new issue to deal with: he looked radically different now than he did this morning, in this time line at least. His family would be the easiest to convince as they hadn't seen him face to face in months, the Interceptors would probably need to get used to it, but would adapt quickly as they were used to certain oddities. No what was bothering him was how to convince his class mates that he was still Eli, even though he looked dramatically different. But right now, the highest priority was glomping the Interceptors. Making his way over the Brownstone, which was a mixed bag now that he didn't leave traces of lightning everywhere, but he was also so much slower, Eli found himself standing before the front door he hadn't opened in three years, and also the same one he left when he got up this morning. He messed with his hair to look a little more presentable, and fumbled with the keys (which Mercury had thankfully reminded him to take) he opened the door cautiously "Hello? Is anyone home?" he called out tentatively, trying desperately to stop his voice from cracking.

  11. "That's about the long and short of it." responded Gossamer!Atlas to Protectron. He picked up on the very so subtle cues that Gossamer would very much like to put this particular endeavor behind her. I apologize for upsetting you. said Atlas telepathically to Gossamer as he slowly reverted back to his normal human form. I've seen more than my fair share of... oddities... and forget most people haven't. It wasn't my intent to make you uncomfortable. I'm sorry. he continued while making an act of getting himself some water, while trying to give Gossamer a weak smile. I'll run my odder ideas before you first next time. Oh, and the horse thing? His idea.
  12. Dynamo Rather than doing edits for Dynamo, I rebuilt him from the ground up. The build can be found here. Any questions/comments/concerns should be addressed there. Atlas I'll spend a spend a point to give him Knowledge (galactic lore) 4 to reflect his desire to learn more about his Grue nature and the universe at large. It certainly has nothing to do with Shaen's space thread <.< >.> <.< AAed

Atlas is on pretty good terms with JoAB and DokA, and if you're going to need some muscle on a space adventure, bring the alien. Works for me. Plus he's a back up telepath and infiltrator.
  14. "From my understanding, that is precisely what the Lor Republic is trying to do. But they want us to develop on our own because we're too primitive or something. I don't know much beyond that though." continued Gossamer!Atlas. "The Grue are the exception to the rule; most people are good enough. But because we can't change our form like the Grue do, they look down on us, like humans do to ants. They aren't worth the same level of consideration." "Well as I mentioned earlier..." began Gossamer!Atlas as he lifted his arms higher so Protection could get a good angle "My powers have been developing quite steadily. Before I could do a multitude of forms, and be between 3 to 10ft tall. But those changes were just cosmetic, I wouldn't be any different. Now however, I'm far less limited. Let me demonstrate." Gossamer!Atlas paused to let Protectron get into position, before he changed shape. He followed Protectron's idea and changed into Centaur!Gossamer!Atlas while still having his skin be see through. At no part in the process did it look natural. Bones, muscle and organs all stretched like putty into a rough approximation of the form before solidifying into actual shapes and adjusting their functionality.

I have however pruned it down quite a bit. This guy is a master of vibrations, kind of like a mix between the Shocker and Avalanche, only with less lame sauce. The key power for this build is the Deflect power. It doesn’t get much use in its default form as it takes at least a standard action to use, and a full round action to use with any effectiveness. However, if this guy takes the time to concentrate and deflect incoming attacks, he becomes much more powerful and versatile in his deflection. By taking a standard action, he is able to deflect an unlimited number of attacks per turn (or at least to attempt to) for both himself and anything that happens to come too close to him, and he is able to reflect it back to its attacker. Also note that any sort of melee attack is usable in conjunction with Deflect. In addition, he still has a move action each round which he can use to situate himself right in the cross fire so that he is able to maximally utilize his deflect, or he can use it to Set Up his allies for a big whallop. You may not get the most effectiveness out of Deflect due to its low-ish rank. Getting some ranks in Impervious Toughness to force your enemies to power attack and correspondingly lower their Attack bonus. In addition, unless you dump a whole lot more points into the Action extra, which I actually argue against, you won’t be able to Deflect again in a round once you fail.
  16. Player Name: Geez3r Character Name: Dynamo Power Level: 14 (206/215PP) Trade-Offs: +2 Attack / -2 Damage, +2 Defense / -2 Toughness Unspent Power Points: 9 Progress To Gold Status: 34/90 (Silver Status earned with Tempest) Click here for pre-Time Warp Dynamo. Alternate Identity: Eli East Identity: Secret Affiliations: The Interceptors Age: 20 (DoB: June 4th 1990), 23 including time travel Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5'10" Weight: 170 lbs. Eyes: Blue Hair: Blond Description: Dynamo's time in the future has changed his physique rather radically. He put on nearly 20 pounds of muscle his time there. He now looks like a well honed martial artist. He's still wiry, but people aren't too surprised if they see him lift a rather heavy weight. He wears his gray blond hair streaked back, and shorn close on his sides. He has a gray streak running through the sides on his head. He has rather strong, angular features and relatively high cheek bones. His bright blue eyes have dulled somewhat, now having a resemblance to the ocean. To anyone that knows him however, the biggest change is to his posture. He used to be very animated, with lots of exaggerated motions, or even quick hints of motions. Now he seems slower and methodical, as if he was contemplating every action. History: Eli East was pretty much your average kid, only he had enough energy for about 3 of them. He was one of the few of his generation to spend very little time inside. He'd wake up at 7am eat breakfast and then just head outside, not coming back until 7 at night, and that was only to get a flash light. Of course, he lived out in the sticks so there wasn't much else to do. He spent most of his adolescence looking for something to entertain and distract him, with varying degrees of success. After graduation, he moved to Freedom City to go to attend Freedom College, plus all the babes were in Freedom. That all changed a few months ago. Eli had lost track of time working late in the library on a major paper. At the same time, a storm had rolled into Freedom. As Eli would later find out, Dr. Stratos was super charging this particular storm with lightning and was threatening to unleash the deadly bolts of lightning unless the city paid him a hefty ransom. Well when the Freedom League moved to foil his scheme, Dr. Stratos started hurling lightning like an angry Greek god. Well one of those bolt struck a certain student taking a short cut under a very large oak tree. Instead of being turned into a crispy critter, Eli was empowered. He finally had enough time to get rid of all those annoying things that kept intruding on life, like work and there only being so much daylight in a given day. Although he still has barely any focus, Eli has dedicated his life to helping those in need with his powers. Well, that was then and this is now. In April 2011, Dynamo was catapulted into the 31st century, and remained there for over 3 years, before being returned to his own time, a radically changed individual. The events in the future greatly reduced his top speed, but he has compensated by furthering many of his knowledge bases, and now is a much more well rounded individual. He forged friendships that would last a life time, and found a true love, but he had to leave them behind. His place was in the past. Decades from now, he'll input a scan of his mind into Vince's programming that will eventually find its way to the Freedom Legion, a thousand years into the future, so he can once again be with the friends he made, even if only in part. Personality & Motivation: Eli's time in the future has really mellowed him out. He can still be a light-hearted goofball, as it is required by the international code of ethics for speedsters, but he often finds himself being the calm voice of reason far more than he was previously. Instead of rushing into a situation, he'll take the time to consider it before he acts. He likes to think things through and often tries to find a logical solution to the problem. Though spending quite a bit of time with Vince has done wonders for his snark and deadpan. Powers & Tactics: Dynamo has had to alter his tactics because of his loss in speed. He takes the time to evaluate the situation before he commits to a given action. He is faster than many of his peers, but not all of them, not anymore. He has also lost the ability to project lightning as he used to be able to. He no longer has the excess capacity of energy to do that particular feat. He makes up for this by being nearly at the human pinnacle in many physical respects. He hits harder than he used to, but not necessarily as often. Complications: Didn't Catch That: It's really hard to catch the conversation when you're a mile away before the person gets the first word out. What Was I Supposed To Do Here?: Eli's time in the future has given him some insight into the events of the past. He doesn't however know the whole story, which can cause him to hesitate at a critical juncture. Or take an action that he wouldn't ordinarily do. The Pursuit Expert feat is: Acrobatics 8 Limited: Only while in pursuits This is based on the pursuit rules from the Mastermind's Manual. Parties in a chase roll their relevant ability (Acrobatics/Drive/Pilot) modified by their speed. Basically its the ability of speedsters to do high speed maneuvers without giving them the ability to perform in a high wire circus.
  17. Would've sworn I did that already... Atlas There's a Little Grue in All of Us Unstuck in Time Dynamo Interceptors: Planning for the Big Day Magnets! How Do They Work? Science, You Clown! + Vignette
  18. It was about that time that Gargoyle!Atlas came in for a landing, folding his wings back neatly behind him. "I've contacted a nearby ambulance driver telepathically. He'll be here momentarily." he said comfortingly to the woman, stooping a little so he didn't outright tower over her. "I've told him to keep his eyes peeled in case there are any more in the vicinity, as should you." he finished with a word of warning. Turning his attention to the gathered heroes, he looked them all over. "Push, Wisp, and Cannonade right?" he said as he pointed to each of them in succession with a different arm."Altas." he said thumbing himself in the chest. "Anyone got a plan other than "hit zombies, make fall down"?" he asked as he nodded towards the alleyway.
  19. Alright, I'm going to give you your first approval. There's a few grey area things that have been mentioned already. But nothing that I see as outright problematic. However, if there's one thing you learn about FC, it's that the refs change their minds every now and then. If it becomes a problem in play, we may have to do a revisit. That all being said: :approved:
  20. Grapple is +16, Attack Specialization (unarmed) doesn't apply to grapple rolls. I'm counting 29 feats, not 28. The Bladed Disks strike me as too powerful for Equipment. For the Probability Control, the Check Required Flaw is generally frowned upon here. It's either too good or too bad. In this case, its too good. A flaw is supposed to reduce the effectiveness of the effect roughly by half. With your current skill ranking, you only have a 20% chance of failure. I suggest getting the Unreliable Flaw or scrounging up extra points elsewhere. The Counter Attacking power is undercosted. Strike (1) + Concentration (1) + Sustained (+1) + Aura (+1) - Limited (-1) = 3pp/rank * 8 ranks = 24pp
  21. Atlas is going to Leap towards the bad guy's reinforcements for his move action, and then use his Freeze Breath SS PF. It's a rank 14 Snare cone. DC 24 Reflex save, with a DC 24 Reflex save for half. The cone is 140ft long and 140ft wide at its furthest point.
  22. Ze human vill not survive anozer vave of beatmen attacks. I vill stall zeir reinforcements as long as I can. Atlas informed Scarab over their telepathic link. I vill strike at ze sorcerers if I can. Atlas had no idea what the sorcerers were planning, but he did know that they would have more difficulty doing it if they had less beastmen at their disposal. From what he had seen, the humans could hold their own, just not against such massive numbers. But sending bodies flying may not be enough, Atlas needed the sorcerers to second guess who and what they were up against. Leaping across the field towards the mass of enemies, Atlas landed with a thud just before their ranks. With a deep breath that filled his barrel chest, Atlas expelled an arctic blast that froze the field of battle and the beastmen that had the bad luck to be in the way. If nothing else, hopefully the ice would make it more difficult for them to implement their plans.
  23. "Water will be fine." called Gossamer!Atlas after the rapidly retreating form of the real Gossamer. He had the distinct impression that he grossed her out rather badly just then, but figured he should off on the appologies until he wasn't in effect wearing an inside out version of her. It might be a bit problematic to the healing process. Protectron on the other hand didn't seem to be phased by the odd display. That was something Atlas could identify with; thinking back on it, he ran in some pretty weird circles, even by super hero standards. Gossamer!Atlas slowly moved the strands of hair to allow for a better recording, and spread his arms so that they wouldn't interfere with the line of sight. "I'm not entirely sure of their original intentions for their first invasion. Perhaps our resources? A display of their military might? I couldn't tell you. This most recent attack had no other aim than to destroy the Earth and "save face" as it were. The Grue have been pushed back twice by a planet that they believed was far beneath them. They just want us gone so they can move on at this point."
  24. Not one to pass up a free meal, Atlas moved into action. He banked high around one of the buildings while he waited for the zombies to fully shamble out of the alleyway so he would have more room to maneuver as his wings did take up quite a bit of space. Seeing the zombies make their move, he intentionally climbed higher to stall out before going into a sharp nose dive to build up speed. By opening his wings at the right moment he was able to fly right through the mass of zombies, his claws striking home on the zombie the others had yet to strike. And just in a flash, he was out of range again, banking high so he could make another pass in another moment. He didn't recognize any of the heroes below, but it was good to know that there were even more heroes protecting Freedom than he initially thought. Offering burgers was just icing on the cake.
  25. Atlas is going to wing over to the uninjured zombie, slash at him with his claws and then use Move-By to keep on going. Favored Environment is keyed to defense. Melee Attack roll vs Nazi Zombie 1, DC 32 Toughness (1d20+9=29) Make that DC 37, unless the zombie is immune to crits.
