Grim has Insubstantial 1 remember? As in, she can flow like water. So yes, she can get an attack in.
-
"I know nothing because you won't let me in. I'm trying to be a friend, I'm trying to help you. Didn't you wonder why I chased after you? Why I sat on the road side and talked to you. Why I've spent all this time checking up on you. Why I even told you my real name? It's... because I... liked you. And I was trying to see if you liked me back. Guess I got my answer. Bye." When Eric looked up, Dynamo was gone and the door to the gym was slowly closing.
-
"Cream and 37 sugars." answered Dynamo over his shoulder. "Yeah Grim, we got it. Ain't nothing fool proof, but we can at least attempt to keep some of the fools out." replied Dynamo, with a smug look of "ya see what I did there?" plastered all over his face. Dynamo sat down at the table and pulled the piece of paper and pencil over to him. He flipped it over and his hand started flying over the page, drawing out schematics for the Brownstone and the Underground. They were actually pretty good too, not professional, but good enough. There was also details missing for the specific science stuff, but that was Doc's territory. A careful eye also noticed that the pencil was suddenly about 4 inches shorter and the eraser nearly gone. He slid the paper to the center of the table, so everyone else could look at it.

Good job hero, you hit a nerve. Now what? Dynamo chose his next words carefully, trying to diffuse the situation. "Ok, look. I obviously pissed you off. Sorry. And I mean that. But I can't leave it at that. There's something there beyond me being a douche. There's something there causing you pain and I want to help. Just like I tried to that night. Now I obviously suck at it, but I can't ignore anyone hurting that much. Now at least let me try to help you dammit."

Got pretty defensive about not having control didn't she? Feeling he was getting to the heart of the issue, Dynamo pressed his luck. "Well, I've got 4 other members on the Interceptors, each with full time jobs and secret ID's to hold down; you've got, I'm gonna guess like 200 students knocking about, and y'all got what? Math homework? Hell its finals time, you'd expect more people coming in to blow off some steam. And yet, you're by yourself. I'm just saying that's odd." Dynamo paused for a moment, steeling himself for the rather intrusive question he was about to ask. "Are they scared of you? Of what you can do?"
-
Oh she's good. She should consider a career in politics. She does remember I saw her flip out right? Like is her power super anger or something? muse Dynamo. Changing strategy he posed another question "Do your teammates put in all the hours you do, like in solo practice? Like shouldn't teams work together more often so they know how they can cover each other's backs better? Again, I'm still new at this, so I could be getting this all wrong; but it seems to me that one of your teammates could help ya with this."
-
"Nah. I meant why that got you out here doing all these control exercises or whatever you called it. I saw clips of you at the Invasion, you're like one of their top students here or something ain't ya? Like they trust you enough to go out on patrol with those other guys... uh what's the name again? New Freedom or something? Completely blanking right now. Or does this have something to do with that smashed dummy in the corner?"
-
Heritage, you're up.

"Yeah I was hoping about that, but ya never know. I seen the SyFy channel. Any time there's a secret facility that no one knows about, it's best to maintain a healthy level of skepticism." defended Dynamo. "And speaking of the SyFy junk, it seems like you guys really do have a nice set up. Mostly all I've been using is sort of the bare bones kinda arena. Saws coming outta the walls and junk like that. It's safe though." I hope. "So, if they got all those cool training programs, why are you out here by yourself?"
-
"There's always the direct approach too. Making the walls a bit tougher so it can stall a big bruiser for a moment might be a good thing too. In case y'all haven't noticed, most of the career villains in Freedom ain't exactly subtle. Maybe like some force fields like in the walls or in the interior of the place. Though it would make hanging junk on the wall a real pain." mused Dynamo, deciding not to voice some of his worries about Fulcrum. Something's off about her. Her eyes are all weird.

"Yeesh. Hope you're not banking on a career in sales." muttered Dynamo, now actually feeling a bit nervous about the tests. "And what do you mean by dying in simulation? Like dying for reals or pretend dying? Yeah, want some more details on the whole dying thing. And what do you mean by simulation? Like what kind of set up do y'all have up in here? I'd imagine pretty swanky."

Fulcrum's thunderous fist cracked right over the fishman's head. Reeling from the force of the blow, the creature's head get buried in the concrete. Finally the creature was out of its misery; it had lost too much blood to muster any defense against Fulcrum's attack. On the other side of the train yard, the remaining bits of rumble stirred ever so slightly. Apparently the bug was not yet entirely squashed. Either that or this was an example of the cockroach walking around for a week with its head cut off.

"Nah, I pretty much just got here, I'm actually a bit early; who would've guessed?" joked Dynamo. "I honestly have no idea what I got myself into here. I'm just gonna kinda wing it. I figure if I can't hack it, it's best to learn that in a school rather than in the streets, and if I can, well, then I'm awesome. What, got any tips for me? What's this Archer dude like?"
-
"Oh hey, you're alive and junk. That's cool." said Dynamo to Dead Head, sounding a bit disappointed. "Sorry about the uh whole zap fry thing. I kinda over Science!'d ya there. It was totally cool though, and then you exploded, so that was kind of awesome. And you came back which is neat too. I should really stop talking now shouldn't I? Kinda digging my own grave now huh? ... Yeah, definitely passed the time for shutting up."

Dark Star's blast caught the creature full in the side and knocked it right on over. The whimpering and the wobbling stopped as the creature became still. A tense moment passed when the creature appeared to be dead, but a sigh of relief was well deserved when the creature's chest rose and fell as it drew breath slowly but surely. This section of the city however was in shambles, they had really wrecked the place, and quickly too.

We're solidly in Screw The Rules I Have Plot territory right now. Dead Head's your character Doc, go with whatever you'd like.
-
"To each his own." said Dynamo with a shrug. "Yeah, we got a good thing going on. It's real different between us and you guys. Like you guys probably have curfews and stuff. You probably got randomly assigned to different teams. Where as we are just kinda hanging out. We each just kinda do our own thing, but if we need back up we know who to call. And it probably sounds incredibly stupid, but having a place where you can come back from a nasty brawl out on patrol, and you can slump on the couch with some of your buddies drinking beer and watching terrible B movies is just awesome. I'd think they'd be affronted if I didn't come here if I thought it would help me."
-
"Yeah, that's part of the reason I joined up with the Interceptors. I get paid to hero, it's awesome. The people on the team are really cool too. It's real weird though. Like up until recently, those dudes were like celebrities to me and everything. I had their posters on my wall, favorited sitings of them on Youtube, the whole nine yards. And now, Grim makes me breakfast on the weekends. It's at 8 kinds of awesome sauce. You should keep us in mind when you're done with Claremont. Come to think of it, what year are you anyways?"
-
"See now we're getting to the complicated stuff. Corny as it sounds, I like to live in the moment. But srsly, I haven't even declared a major yet. I can't picture myself having the "normal day job" with a family all while living a double life when I don't even know what I'll be doing in the coming years." Leaning forward a bit he decided it was his turn to pose a question or two. "What about you? What do you see yourself doing in a few years? Going to college or doing the hero thing a full 24/7?"

Aside from the deafening crash of the shovel swung with undead might, you could hear yet another whimper from the creature as the shovel crunched down right on the bridge of its nose. Dead Head was close enough to see its eyes completely glaze over. It had no idea where it was, and had all it could do to keep its feet under him. In its drunken stumbling, Dead Head's follow up attack caught the creature at a weird angle and deflected off without doing too much damage, but most assuredly added to the creature's head ache.
